Janet Williams
DOUGLASS - Janet Nancy Williams, 57, of Douglass, died Nov. 29, 1998, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center-St. Francis Campus, Wichita.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Douglass United Methodist Church. The Rev. Chee Sin Ho will officiate. Burial will be in Douglass Cemetery.
Friends may call at Hilyard-Smith Funeral Home until 8 tonight and from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday.
A memorial has been established with the American Heart Association.
Williams was born Aug. 16, 1941, in Kendrick, Idaho.
She was a retired Coleman machine operator.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Williams, Douglass: a son, Charles W. Williams, Haysville; two daughters, Theresa Cline, Douglass, and Mary Lockyear, Winfield; two sisters, Marge Zindell and Peggy Myers, both of Hermiston, Ore.; and four grandchildren.
Rosalia Pagan
HOWARD - Rosalia Cintron Pagan, 92, died Nov. 24, 1998, at Howard Twilight Manor.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Howard Twilight Manor. The Rev. Edward J. Steinberger will officiate. Cremation has taken place. Burial will be in Eternal Hills Memorial Park, Oceanside, Calif.
Memorials have been established with the Howard Twilight Manor Transportation Fund and Hospice Inc.
Zimmerman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Pagan was born Oct. 20, 1906, to Bibiana and Pedro Cintron, in Barrio Pasto, Guayanilla, Puerto Rico. She was raised in that community and attended rural schools.
On Jan. 3, 1927, she married Jose Irizarri Pagan in Guayanilla. They were engaged in coffee production until her husband's death in 1986. Following his death, she made her home with her son, Pedro, until November 1987 when she moved to Encinitas, Calif., to live with her son, Joe.
In 1988 she moved with Joe and his family to the Howard community. She had been a resident of Howard Twilight Manor since 1989.
A homemaker, she was a member of Maria Magdalena Catholic Church in Guayanilla.
Survivors include three sons, Joe Pagan, Howard, and Eddie Pagan and Pedro Pagan, both of Guayanilla; nine grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Rita, and an infant daughter preceded her in death.
John Greenleaf
John F. Grenleaf, 74, of 1802 Loomis, Winfield, died Nov. 30, 1998, at his home.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Miles Funeral Service. Military rites and burial will be in Highland Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home until 9 tonight and until 1 p.m. Wednesday.
Memorials have been established with Home Health Care and the Foster Grandparent Program. Contributions can be made through the funeral home.
Greenleaf was born Oct. 19, 1924, in Winfield to Stanley Morton and Hazel Eudora (Wise) Greenleaf. He was raised and educated in Winfield and began military service in 1944.
A veteran of World War II, he served with the U.S. Army 42nd Engineering Construction Battalion as a mechanic in the Philippines and Bataan in the South Pacific Theatre.
Following discharge in 1946, he returned to Winfield where he was employed as a mechanic for the International Harvester dealership.
On Aug. 1, 1948, he married Edna E. Lathrum in Winfield. They lived in Winfield before moving to Moline in 1950. Greenleaf was employed at Ames Chevrolet Co. in Moline before the couple moved to Coffeyville in 1952.
In Coffeyville he was employed as a mechanic for Gartner Motors and later at Perl Chevrolet for many years. The Greenleafs returned to Winfield in 1963. He was employed at Kline Motors, Main Street Auto and Branine Chevrolet before starting his own business, Greenleaf Auto Repairs, in 1977.
A member of the First Baptist Church, he was also a longtime member of American Legion Post 10 and was formerly active in the Good Sam's Camping Club.
Survivors include his wife, Edna Greenleaf, Winfield; three sons, John A. Greenleaf and Michael J. Greenleaf, both of Winfield, and Larry C. Greenleaf, State College, Pa.; three daughters, Cheryl B. Crow and Susan E. Bowman, both of Winfield, and Lisa A. Anderson, Tulsa, Okla.; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services for John F. Greenleaf, 74, who died Nov. 30, 1998, were held at 2 p.m. Dec. 2 in Colonial Chapel of Miles Funeral Service. The Rev. Warren Smith officiated. Burial was in Highland Cemetery.
Special music included "Go Rest High on That Mountain," "Amazing Grace" and "Peace in the Valley."
American Legion Post 10 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3544 performed military graveside rites.
Honorary casket bearers were Charles Blankenship, Harry Evans, Ralph Reynolds, Dale Sallee, Dan Torrence and Loren Wade.
Casket bearers were Greg Anderson, Matthew Bowman, Jerry Crow, Chris Greenleaf, David Kafka and Bill Tomasi.

Barbara McDonald
HOWARD - Barbara Alice McDonald, 77, homemaker, of Howard, died Nov. 30, 1998, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center-St. Francis Campus in Wichita.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Longton Cemetery.

McDonald was born Jan. 16, 1921, in Fredonia, to Robert Otis and Della Blanche (McKinney) Smith. She attended rural schools in Wilson County.
On Dec. 1, 1938, she married Charles Russell McDonald in Fredonia. They lived in Busby and Longton before moving to Wichita. They moved to Yates Center in 1953, then lived in several other Kansas locations and also Grove, Okla., for several years. They had made their home in Howard since 1984.
Baptized into the Lutheran church in Iola, McDonald was a longtime member of Columbia Chapter 142, Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include her husband, Russ McDonald, Howard; two sons, Bob McDonald, Independence, and Jim McDonald, Elk Falls; a sister, Helen Susel, Pueblo, Colo.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Cecil Havens
BAY CITY, Texas - Cecil O. Havens, 75, of Bay City, former longtime Burden resident, died Nov. 30, 1998, at Bay City.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Burial will be in Burden Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday.

Havens was born July 29, 1923, on a farm near New Salem, to Daniel Bert and Goldie E. (May) Havens. He was raised and educated at Wilmot. As a young man, he was employed as an auto mechanic in the Wilmot and Floral areas.
Havens served for three years as a corporal in the U.S. Army during World War II.
On Feb. 11, 1944, he married Norma Gene Moss in San Luis Obispo, Calif. They made their first home in San Miguel, Calif. Havens was employed for several years as a mechanics instructor in automotive schools in California.
In 1951 he began employment as a welder and roustabout for Texaco Oil Co. The Havenses lived and worked in Burden during the 1950s and 1960s before moving with Texaco to Fairfax and Cleveland, Okla. Havens retired from Texaco as a field foreman in 1983, following 32 years of service. The family later moved to Bay City.
A longtime member of the Burden United Methodist Church, he was also affiliated with the Masonic Lodge of Burden for 37 years.
Survivors include his wife, Norma Havens, Bay City; a son, James O. Havens, Cambridge; a daughter, Vieta K. Miguez, Bay City; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one stepgranddaughter.
Mary Sattler
UDALL - Mary A. Sattler, 82, of rural Udall, retired homemaker, died Dec. 1, 1998, at Pratt Regional Medical Center.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Trinity Lutheran Church in Winfield. The Rev. Roderick Hathaway will officiate. Burial will be in Akron Cemetery.
Friends may call at Swisher-Taylor & Morris Funeral Home from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. to noon Saturday.
Memorials have been established with Trinity Lutheran Church and the American Lung Association.
Sattler was born Feb. 4, 1916, at Spring Valley, near Moundridge, to August and Wilhelmina (Beckmann) Koenemann. She was educated at Evangelical Lutheran School in Canton.
On Aug. 2, 1936, she married William Sattler in Canton. They lived in Douglass before moving to Udall in 1949. Mr. Sattler and a daughter, Sharon, preceded her in death.
A member of Trinity Lutheran Church, she was also a charter member of Dale Club.
Survivors include a son, Larry Sattler, Winfield; a daughter, Glenys Price, Mullinville; six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
