Ronnie Jean Seeliger

BURDEN - Ronnie Jean Seeliger, 62, of rural Burden, died June 16, 1999, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Tisdale United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Union-Graham Cemetery in Winfield. The casket will remain closed at all times. Miles Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials have been established with the American Cancer Society, Central Christian Church in Arkansas City and Tisdale United Methodist Church.

Seeliger was born Oct. 13, 1936, at Home City, to Henry and Edith (King) Prigel. Raised and educated in the Marysville area, she graduated from Marysville High School in 1954 and later attended Manhattan Bible College.

On Sept. 25, 1955, she married Clee Holtke. They resided in Wichita before moving to Arkansas City in 1959. They were later divorced.

She worked in Arkansas City as a secretary at New Era Milling Co. for several years and began employment as legal secretary for Dick Rock, Mike Smith and Orvel Mason, attorneys at law, during the early 1970s.

On July 20, 1984, she married Carl Seeliger. They had lived on the Seeliger farms throughout their marriage.

A longtime member of Central Christian Church in Arkansas City, she had served as organist and choir director and later served several years as organist at Tisdale United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Carl Seeliger, Burden; a son, Stephen Holtke, Arkansas City; a daughter, Susan Post, Wichita; two stepsons, Mark Seeliger, Winfield, and Mike Seeliger, Burden; a stepdaughter, Carlene Benscoter, Alaska; her father, Henry W. Prigel, Marysville; a brother, Donald Prigel, Golden, Colo.; two sisters, Janet McCubbins, Kansas City, Mo., and Virginia Lee Grenier, Neosho; and nine grandchildren.

Mary Bradberry

Mary M. Bradberry, 92, of Winfield, formerly of Arkansas City, died June 17, 1999, at Walnut Hill Nursing Center.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home in Arkansas City. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

A memorial has been established with the Heart of God Fellowship Church, Winfield. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.

Bradberry was born April 29, 1907, in Blackwell, Okla., to Thomas Jefferson Hurst and Eliza Jestern Castoe. She was raised and educated in Kay County.

On Oct. 29, 1921, she married Artest Harrison Bradberry in Winfield. They lived in the Arkansas City area throughout their marriage. Mr. Bradberry died in 1970.

Mrs. Bradberry was a member of the First Methodist Church of Arkansas City, United Methodist Women and the Democratic Party. She was also a Sunday school teacher and a Girl Scout leader.

Survivors include two daughters, Betty Louise Bartlett-Danner, Abilene, and Rose Cook, Winfield; 11 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

An infant daughter, Paulina Bradberry, and a son, Artest Bradberry Jr., preceded her in death.

Beryl Wunderlich

LATHAM - Services for Beryl M. (Schooley) Wunderlich, 85, who died June 13, 1999, were held at 10 a.m. June 18 in Latham Cemetery. The Rev. Art Hays and Duane Little officiated. Bob and Arlene Otto sang "In the Garden" and "In the Sweet By and By."

Honorary casket bearers were Steve Cloyde, Thomas Durrel, Wayne House, Michael McKinney and Orie Wall.

Casket bearers were Chet Beers, Todd Beers, Ed Henderson, Michael Joyce and Bart, Jim, Randy and Tyrel Jay Schooley.

A memorial has been established with the American Diabetes Association.

Miles Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements.

Mildred Morris

Services for Mildred K. Morris, 88, who died June 14, 1999, were held at 10:30 p.m. June 18 at Swisher-Taylor & Morris Funeral Home. The Rev. Guy Rendoff officiated. Burial was in Highland Cemetery.

Music selections were "Precious Memories" and "How Great Thou Art."

Casket bearers were Phil Morris, Reed Juergens, Brett Juergens, Scott Juergens, Ray Kehr and Dean Owen.

Raymond Martin

DEXTER - William Raymond Martin, 96, of Dexter, died June 19, 1999, at Grouse Valley Manor.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Hicks Chapel. Burial will be in Maple City Cemetery.

Friends may call until 9 tonight at Swisher-Taylor & Morris Funeral Home.

A memorial has been established with Grouse Valley Manor. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.

Martin was born Sept. 30, 1902, in rural Cowley County, to Marion Haskel and Ethel Eda (Smith) Martin.

On June 11, 1930, he married Marie M. Eastman in Winfield. They lived in rural Dexter throughout most of their marriage. She died Dec. 28, 1989.

Martin had been employed at Dixie Portland Flour Mill in Arkansas City and Born Stone Co. He also worked for various farmers doing all types of farming duties.

He was a member of the Farmers Co-op and Hicks Chapel.

Survivors include four sons, Bert Martin, William Martin and Bruce Martin, all of Dexter, and Haskel Martin, Oklahoma City; two daughters, Freda Hite, Rockport, Texas, and Cleota Sherwood, Arkansas City; 23 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Charlie Berry

ARKANSAS CITY - Charlie Joe Berry Sr., 68, of Arkansas City, died June 19, 1999, at Walnut Hill Nursing Center in Winfield.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hawks Funeral Home. The Rev. William O. Reed Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home this evening until 8 and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Berry was born Feb. 10, 1931, in Holbert, Okla., to George Dewey and Sally Berry. He was raised in the Oklahoma City area. He married Lottie Mae Berry, who preceded him in death.

While living in Oklahoma City, he worked at Otasco.

Berry later moved to Arkansas City and married Helen Vera "Patricia" Major. He worked at Otasco, A.L. Short Motors, Tubbs Motor Co. and Rodeo Meats until his retirement in the early 1980s.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Major, Arkansas City; four sons, Nathan Berry and Porter Berry, both of Arkansas City, Glendale Berry, Winfield, and Charlie Berry Jr, Hackney; five daughters, Linnie Mae Berry, Paulette Jackson and Rosetta Berry, all of Oklahoma City, Glenda Brantley, Arkansas City, and Mary Denise Thompson, Wichita; four brothers, Dewey Berry, Oklahoma City, William Berry and James Nero, both of Wichita, and Anthony "A.D." Berry, Arkansas City; two sisters, Vernabelle Pratt, Oklahoma City, and Lulu Mae Wright, Dallas; 17 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A son, Reggie Berry, and two daughters, Alversa Berry and Debra Berry, preceded him in death.

Russell Hall

Services for Russell Ray Hall, 92, who died June 16, 1999, were held at 2 p.m. June 19 in Colonial Chapel of Miles Funeral Service. The Rev. Rick Thornton officiated, and Irma Scholfield was the organist.

Burial was in Memorial Lawn Cemetery near Arkansas City. Honorary casket bearers were Lucien Barbour, Bob Duncan, Donald Ehmke, Earl Green and Leland Hopper.

Casket bearers were John Bruner, Worrall Clift, Dean Crow, Jack Heffner, Greg Koman and Bill Thornton.

A memorial has been established with Home Health Care of William Newton Memorial Hospital.

Etta Wallace

ARKANSAS CITY - D. Etta Wallace, 70, of Arkansas City, died June 17, 1999, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center-St. Francis Campus in Wichita.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Assembly of God Church. The Rev. Paul Knight will officiate. Burial will be in Parker Cemetery.

Friends may call at Hawks Funeral Home from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and Tuesday.

Wallace was born May 15, 1929, in Grainola, Okla., to Benjamin J. and Vera Etta (Tousley) Batdorf. She attended Prairie Flower Grade School and Cedar Vale High School and graduated from Dexter High School. She worked for a short time as a substitute teacher in Cedar Vale.

On June 27, 1947, she married James Wiley Wallace in Arkansas City where they had resided for the past 52 years.

Survivors include her husband, James Wallace, and two sons, Jim Wallace and Bill Wallace, all of Arkansas City; a daughter, Mary Reeves, Winfield; her mother, Vera Batdorf, Dexter; seven sisters, Rosalie Hain, Susie Kincaid and Kay Batdorf, all of Arkansas City, Velma Stilley, Miami, Okla., Alice Batdorf, Dexter, and Betty Landis and Margaret Karcher, both of Joplin, Mo.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A daughter, Beverly Jo Wallace, died May 10, 1999.

Lois Blaine

WELLINGTON - Lois A. Blaine, 81, homemaker, of Wellington, died June 20, 1999, in Derby.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Prairie Lawn Cemetery. Pastor Bob McGuire will officiate.

Friends may call at Frank Funeral Home until 9 tonight.

A memorial has been established with the Scleroderma Foundation.

Blaine was born June 30, 1917, in Winfield, to Alvah and Bertha (Coombes) Ramsey.

On Feb. 27, 1937, she married Frankie Blaine in Wellington. He preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and the First Baptist Church of Wellington.

Survivors include a brother, Kenneth Ramsey, Grove, Okla., and five sisters, Helen Beard, Derby, Jeannie Myers, Texas, Betty Hobbs, Oklahoma City, Alberta Rieden, Grove, Okla., and Nancy Yount, Eldon, Mo.

Bobbie Haak

Graveside services for Bobbie Quinton Haak, 70, who died June 12, 1999, were held at 10 a.m. June 21 in the Winfield State Hospital and Training Center Cemetery. The Rev. Robert Snively officiated. Vocal music included "Ghost Riders in the Sky."

A memorial has been established with Martin Luther Homes Inc.

Miles Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements.
