Lucille Tackett
Services for Lucille Virginia Tackett were held at 2 p.m. April 6 in the Colonial Chapel of Miles Funeral Service. The Rev. Larry Schwartz officiated. Burial was in Highland Cemetery.
Special music included "The Old Rugged Cross," performed by Andee Thurber, and "In the Garden."
Honorary casket bearers were Micheal Keefe, Austin Sympson, Gene Tackett and Ryan Tackett.
Casket bearers were Tackett's grandsons and great-grandsons, Jeremiah Campbell, Josh Campbell, Ron Campbell, Chris Tackett, Greg Tackett and Steve Tackett.
A memorial has been established with the Northside Baptist Church in Arkansas City.
Patty Holman
ARKANSAS CITY - Patricia L. "Patty" Holman, 77, of Arkansas City, died April 7, 2001, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center-St. Francis Campus in Wichita.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the First Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. The Revs. Danny Daniel and Joyce Daniel will officiate.
A memorial has been established with the First Presbyterian Church. Contributions may be made through Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home.
Holman was born June 21, 1923, in Arkansas City, to Bess Belle (Burn) and Ralph G. Lester. She graduated from Arkansas City High School in 1941 and later attended Arkansas City Junior College.
On June 24, 1943, she married Carl "Bud" Holman Jr. in Pensacola, Fla. They returned to Arkansas City in 1945.
She worked for J.C. Penney and later at Harvey's Fashions as a sales clerk before retiring in 1985.
Holman was a longtime member and deaconess of the First Presbyterian Church and a member of the Edith Cox Guild.
Her husband died in 1993.
Survivors include a son, Rick Holman, and a daughter, Nancy Dobson, both of Arkansas City; a sister, Elizabeth Sandy, Ponca City; and five grandchildren.
Harriett Reisner
MOLINE - Harriett Arvilla Reisner, 89, of Moline, died April 7, 2001, at Elk Manor Nursing Home.
Services were at 2 p.m. April 9 at Zimmerman Funeral Home of Howard. The Rev. Gary Parsons officiated. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery
at Waterloo, Iowa.
A memorial has been established with Elk Manor Nursing Home. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
Reisner was born Nov. 5, 1911, in Waterloo, Iowa, to Lola E. (Denton) and William Frederic Reisner. She graduated from East Waterloo High School in 1930.
She attended comptometer school and was employed in the accounting department at Wonder Bakery in Waterloo. She left Wonder Bakery after 20 years and cared for her mother while working various jobs. After her mother died in 1961, she moved to Washington, D.C., and served as an accountant for the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. In 1978 she retired and moved to Moline to be near her sister.
Survivors include a sister, Bea Diebold, Moline.
Earl Wampler
ARKANSAS CITY - Earl William Wampler, 70, of Arkansas City, died April 6, 2001, at South Central Kansas Regional Medical Center.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home. Jesse Kindred will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the American Heart Association. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
Wampler was born Sept. 3, 1930, in Clever, Mo., to Lois Mollie (Hair) and Javen S. Wampler. He was raised and educated in Missouri and graduated from Marionville High School. In 1952 he moved to Arkansas City.
In Arkansas City he married Delilia F. Fortune. He worked as manager of the C.R. Anthony Store until retiring in 1988 after 36 years of service.
Survivors include his wife, Dee Wampler, Arkansas City; a son, Jeff Wampler, Winfield; two daughters, Michelle O'Daniel, Arkansas City, and Tina Randall, Winfield; a brother, Jamie Wampler and a sister, Pauline Goenner, both of Wichita; nine grandchildren and four stepgrandchildren.
Flora Booth
LACROSSE - Flora J. Booth, 89, of LaCrosse, former longtime resident of Cambridge, died April 8, 2001, at Rush County Memorial Hospital in LaCrosse.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Miles Funeral Service. Burial will be in Cambridge Cemetery
Friends may call at the funeral home from noon to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
Memorials have been established with the Cambridge Senior Citizens Center and Cambridge Presbyterian Church. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
Booth was born Feb. 23, 1912, in Dexter, to Madelsa (Thompson) and Charley L. Hankins. She attended schools in Dexter and Cambridge and graduated from Cambridge High School in 1930. She attended Arkansas City Junior College and Pittsburg State Teachers College and taught in rural schools near Cambridge for several years.
On Aug. 6, 1933, she married Oran Booth in Medicine Lodge. They made their home in Cambridge where she was a homemaker. A few years ago, the Booths moved to Otis to live with their daughter and her husband.
Survivors include her husband, Oran Booth, and a daughter, Arlene Thompson, both of Otis; three sons, Arthur Booth, Eustace, Texas, Richard Booth, Clearwater, and James Booth, New Strawn; a brother, Vernon Hankins, Winfield; three sisters, Fern Steward, Winfield, Avis Rhodd, Dexter, and Martha Welch, St. John; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
John Cansino
Getrudes "John" Cansino, 81, of 219 1/2 E. Fourth, Winfield, died April 9, 2001, at his home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Name Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
A Rosary will be said tonight at 8:30 in Swisher-Taylor & Morris Chapel. Friends may call at the funeral home until 8:30.
Memorials have been established with Holy Name Catholic Church and the Winfield Dialysis Center.
Cansino was born Nov. 15, 1919, in Mexico, to Juanita Valdez and Ysabel Cansino. He was raised and educated in Oxford and graduated from Oxford High School in 1937.
He worked for the Santa Fe Railroad and Winfield Iron & Metal. He was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church.
Survivors include a sister, Petra Negrete, Winfield.
Gladys Smith
CANON CITY, Colo. - Gladys A. Smith, 87, of Canon City, formerly of Udall, died April 5, 2001, at Hildebrand Care Center in Canon City.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Udall Church of the Nazarene. Burial will be in Star Valley Cemetery. Senter-Smith Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
A memorial has been established with the Udall Church of the Nazarene.
Smith was born Sept. 17, 1913, in Guthrie, Okla., to Clara Bell (Bentley) and Wesley Grant Mecham. She grew up in Udall.
On Sept. 4, 1930, she married Samuel Irby Smith in Newkirk. After World War II, they moved to Fountain, Colo. They returned to Kansas in 1951, then moved to Canon City in 1990. Her husband died in 1995.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Evelyn Janitell, Fountain, Colo.; three sons, Loren W. Smith and Gordon Smith, both of Canon City, and Galeon K. Smith, Noel, Mo.; and a brother, Charles Allen Mecham, Parsons.
Harold Krug
BURDEN - Harold A. Krug, 68, of Burden, lifelong Cowley County resident, died April 9, 2001, in Jerome, Idaho, from injuries received in a trucking accident.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Burden United Methodist Church. The Rev. Sheila Ratzlaff will officiate. Burial will be in Atlanta Cemetery.
Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service from noon to 9 p.m. Thursday.

Krug was born Feb. 2, 1933, in Atlanta, to Lillie Lavina (McCaw) and Joseph Adam Krug. Raised and educated in the Atlanta community, he served with the U.S. Army Air Force from 1951 to 1954 and continued in reserve duty until 1958.
On Feb. 15, 1956, he married Delores V. Williams in Ardmore, Okla. They resided in Burden through most of their marriage.
A retired rancher, Krug had worked as a welder for many years and owned and operated Krug's Welding in Burden. Formerly employed by the Cowley County Highway Department, Krug was semi-retired and worked part time as a truck driver.
He was a member of the Burden United Methodist Church and was affiliated with the Masonic Lodge of Burden, the American Legion and the American Quarter Horse Association.
Survivors include his wife, Delores Krug, Burden; two sons, Terry Krug, Winfield, and Vernon Krug, Dell, Montana; four brothers, Merle Krug, Burden, Norman Krug, Atlanta, J.R. Krug, Winfield, and Carol "Bunny" Krug, Cambridge; a sister, Beverly Schnurr, Hutchinson; eight grandchildren and three great-grandsons.
Joan Sigman
LAKE STEVENS, Wash. - Joan (Scarth) Sigman, 70, of Lake Stevens, formerly of Winfield, died April 7, 2001, at Providence General Medical Center in Everett, Wash., after an extended illness.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Cherryvale Cemetery
east of Canton, Okla. The Rev. Ken Davidson will officiate.
Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service from noon to 5 p.m. Friday.
Sigman was born Jan. 5, 1931, in Canton, Okla., to Avis (Floyd) and Joe V. Scarth. She attended Canton public schools until 1945 when the family moved to Winfield, and she completed her education here.
On May 7, 1950, she married John W. Sigman. They resided in Winfield until moving to Washington in 1968.
She worked for Boeing Aircraft Co. for 17 years until retiring in 1997.
Her husband died in May 1981.
Survivors include four sons, Terry Sigman, John Sigman and Larry Sigman, all of Lake Stevens, Wash., and Joe Sigman, Cloverdale, Ore.; a daughter, Cheryl Sibuma, Everett, Wash.; three brothers, Frank Scarth and Larry Scarth, both of Winfield, and Ray Scarth, Arcadia, Calif.; a sister, Treva Reinke, Arapaho, Okla.; and eight grandchildren.
