KINSLEY -- Laverna J. Sidebottom, 91, died Saturday, May 12, 2001, at her home in Kinsley.
She was born Nov. 18, 1910, to William and Emma J. (Baldwin) Abbey in Great Bend.
She was a longtime resident of Kinsley.
She married Glenn Sidebottom Nov. 18, 1928, in Kinsley. He died Aug. 25, 1990.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include two sons, Ronald Sidebottom, Kinsley, and Gaylord Sidebottom, Hutchinson; one daughter, Glenna Mecum, Liberal; 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Hillside Cemetery
in Kinsley with the Rev. David Bell presiding.
Memorials are suggested to the Senior Citizens Center in care of McKillip Memorial Funeral Home in Kinsley.

SUBLETTE -- Jack Dwayne Paris, 28, died Monday, May 14, 2001, in Oklahoma City as a result of an accident near Beaver, Okla.

MOSCOW -- Cecil Curtis, 58, Moscow, died Tuesday, May 15, 2001, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.

ROBERT "BOB" MADDEN
Robert "Bob" Madden, 95, died Monday, May 14, 2001, at his home in Liberal.
He was born June 9, 1905, to Elias Calvin and Irma Jane (Cooper) Madden in Mesquite, Texas.
He married Peggy Jean Augerot Jan. 14, 1945, in Satanta. She survives.
He graduated from high school in Duke, Okla. He moved to Liberal and worked for civil service at the Liberal Air Base in 1943.
He moved to Satanta and operated a service station for five years before moving back to Liberal in 1951, where he was employed as a car salesman at numerous car dealerships.
He was a 50-year member of the Fargo No. 300 Masonic Lodge. He had been a member of the Board of Directors of the Liberal Bee Jays Baseball.
Other survivors include one son, Rick Madden and wife, Connie, Liberal; three daughters, Cindy Freshour and husband, DeWayne, Midland, Texas, Ranita Johnson and husband, Kenny, and Ruth McBryde and husband, Bill, all of Liberal; one sister, Blanche Templer, Eads, Colo.; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Stull and husband, Norman, Charly Joe Madden, Ryan Madden and Katie McBryde, all of Liberal, Amy Eastep, Colby, Jacque Johnson, Lawrence, Diane Leede and husband, John, Denver and Debbie Morgan and husband, Wayne, Austin, Texas; and seven great-grandchildren, Madison and Makenna Stull, Liberal, David and Katharine Leede, Denver, and Michael, Michelle and Nicole Morgan, Austin.
He was preceded in death by one son, Albert "Sonny" Madden; two daughters, Billie "Lou" Madden and Marjorie Lynn Eastep; and three sisters, Verna Barrnett, Lynna Brown and Margaret Ellen Blasingame.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the First Southern Baptist Church in Liberal with the Rev. Keith Bryant presiding.
Burial will be at the Liberal Cemetery
in Liberal.
Friends may call until 9 p.m. today at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home in Liberal.

COLLIN A. ISAAC
MEADE -- Collin Andrew Isaac, 6, died Saturday, May 12, 2001, at his home in rural Meade.
He was born June 16, 1994, to Byron S. and Patti (Bender) Isaac in Amarillo, Texas.
He was a member of the Evangelical Mennonite Brethren Church in rural Meade. He was currently attending kindergarten in the Meade public school system.
Survivors include his parents; two brothers, Todd and Tyler Isaac, both of the home; two sisters, Melissa and Megan Isaac, both of the home; grandparents, Don and Irene Isaac, rural Meade, and Larry and Gloria Bender, Balko, Okla.; and great-grandmother, Nellie Caffee, Liberal.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Evangelical Mennonite Brethren Church in rural Meade with the Rev. David Cummings presiding.
Burial will be at the Evangelical Mennonite Brethren Church Cemetery
in rural Meade.

JEWELL M. BANKS
HARDESTY, Okla. -- Jewell Mable Banks, 91, Hardesty, died Saturday, May 12, 2001, at Ochiltree County Hospital in Perryton, Texas.
She was born Feb. 12, 1910, to Alonzo and Lydia (Irons) Woodrum in Kansas City, Mo.
She married Willis Leslie Banks Nov. 26, 1927. He died May 11, 1988.
She attended Pleasant Hill School, and had been a lifelong resident of Hardesty.
She was a member of the Range Missionary Ladies' Association.
Her hobbies included making quilts for various charitable groups.
Survivors include three sons, Leslie Banks and wife, Reba, Hardesty, Carl Banks and wife, Janelle, Guymon, Okla., and James Banks and wife, Eve, Perryton; three daughters, Mable Headrick and husband, Don, Elkhart, Lula Overstreet and husband, Robert, Aurora, Colo., and Phyllis Brant, Redmond, Wash.; two brothers, Paul Woodrum and wife, Verda, Salem, Ore., and Robert Woodrum and wife, Lois, Perryton; three sisters, Rinda Bartlett, Dodge City, Naomi Hillis and husband, Leonard, Liberal, and Verda Cooper and husband, Lee Jr., Hardesty; 19 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Willis Eugene Banks; one granddaughter, Sharlet Jewell; one brother, Leroy Woodrum; and one sister, Edith Matheson.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. today at the Hardesty Apostolic Faith Church with the Revs. Harold Bollinger and Kevin Cornell presiding.
Burial followed at the Hartville Cemetery
in Hardesty.

RICHARD L. JANTZEN
ULYSSES -- Richard Lee Jantzen, 53, died Tuesday, May 15, 2001, in a grain elevator accident in Hickok.
He was born Dec. 4, 1947, to Samuel Ray and Julia Mae (Koehn) Jantzen in Atwater, Calif.
He married Linda Lou Seiler Aug. 3, 1969, in Carson City, Mich. She survives.
He and his wife moved from Alabama to the Ulysses area in 1985.
He was employed as manager at Hickok Co-op Elevator in Hickok.
He was a member of the Church of God In Christ Mennonite in Ulysses.
Other survivors include four sons, Kurt Jantzen and wife, Barbara, Ulysses, Kale Jantzen and wife, Shari, Bridgewater, Maine, Kent Jantzen and Kevin Jantzen, both of the home; one daughter, Kristi Nightingale and husband, Kendall, Satanta; four brothers, David Jantzen and wife, Regina, Gruver, Texas, Stuart Jantzen and wife, Jewel, Ulysses, John Jantzen and wife, Cheryl, Bradley, Ark, and James Jantzen and wife, Doreen, Newbern, Ala.; one sister, LouEtta Ensz and husband, Larry, Newbern; three grandchildren, Trevor Nightingale, Trynn Nightingale and Brooklyn Jantzen; and numerous other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Steven Jantzen.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Grant Mennonite Church in Ulysses with the minister Denton Koehn presiding.
Burial will be at the Grant Mennonite Cemetery
in Ulysses.

LAURA E. FRITZ
NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Laura E. Fritz, 73, formerly of Aberdeen, S.D., died Saturday, May 12, 2001, at her home in North Fort Myers.
She was born Sept. 30, 1927, to Herman E. and Kathryn (Bollinger) Schoenrogge in Fairfax, S.D.
She married Earl R. Fritz July 30, 1950, in Fairfax. He survives.
She attended school in Fairfax and graduated from Bonesreel High
School. She attended college at South Dakota State University in Brookings, S.D., where she earned a pharmacy and honorary doctorate degree.
She and her husband lived in Brookings until 1955. They moved to Watertown, S.D., where they lived until 1965.
They moved to Aberdeen, where she was employed as a call relief worker at St. Luke's Pharmacy, White Drug Pharmacy, Bethesda Nursing Home, Medical Center Pharmacy, Osco Drug Pharmacy, Gibson Pharmacy and Plaza Pharmacy.
She and her husband moved to Grand Island, Neb., in 1971, and then to Liberal in 1974.
In 1982, they moved back t Aberdeen, where they lived until she retired in 1986 and moved to North Fort Myers.
She served on Mayo Clinic Research for 37 years and volunteered for Jerry Lewis telethons.
She was chairman for several non-profit fund drives in Watertown. She also did relief work in hospitals, drug stores, crippled children's hospitals and many retail professional pharmacies in eastern South Dakota.
She was a member of Plymouth Congregational United Church of Christ in Aberdeen.
She was also a 50-year member of South Dakota and National Pharmacy Associations. She served as honorary SDPA president in 1983.
Other survivors include one son, James E. Fritz and wife, Kelli, Barre, Vt.; one daughter, Peggy Treeby and husband, Hal, Hecla, S.D.; one brother, Robert Schoenrogge, Sioux Falls, S.D.; one sister, Ruth Frey, Rochester, Minn.; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Plymouth Congregational United Church of Christ in Aberdeen with the Rev. Guy Stone presiding.
Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Aberdeen.
Friends may call until 6 p.m. today at Miller-Huebl Funeral Home in Aberdeen and for one hour prior to service time at the Plymouth Congregational United Church of Christ.
