LETA LEONA BROWN
AMHERST, Ohio -- Leta Leona Brown, 86, died Saturday, May 19, 2001, at New Life Hospice Residential Center in Lorain, Ohio.
She was born April 25, 1915, to Cyrus and Jessie (Churchwell) Stephenson in Beaver County, Okla.
She was married to Lawrence "Tip" Brown. He preceded her in death.
For 35 years, she lived in Wellsville, Ohio, where she was a decorator for Acme Craftware Co. She and her husband ran a small greenhouse from their home.
She moved to Liberal in 1983.
Her hobbies included gardening, sewing, tole painting and doing crafts.
She returned to Ohio a year ago, due to failing health, and resided with her son and daughter-in-law in Henrietta Township, Ohio.
Survivors include one son, Stephen Township and wife, Colleen, Henrietta Township; two grandsons, Kelley and Jason; one great-granddaughter, Tara; one sister, Rose Tyler, Liberal; and one brother, Richard Stephenson, Liberal.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, Jewel Stephenson; and two sisters, Marjorie Stephenson and Clara Mae Marine.
Graveside services will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery
in Wellsville, Ohio, with the Rev. Allen Boone officiating.

AARON K. HARTNESS
BARTLESVILLE, Okla. -- Aaron Ketcher Hartness, 88, Bartlesville, Okla., died Saturday, May 19, 2001, at the Bartlesville Care Center, Bartlesville, Okla.
He was born Feb. 5, 1913, in Younker, Okla.
He married Emma Ellen Root July 7, 1943, in Chase. She died Aug. 19, 1995.
He then married Darlene Mae Gilbert Towns May 16, 2000. She survives.
He lived in Pawhuska, Okla., for 15 years, Bartlesville for two years, and Hoisington for 61 years.
He was a painting contractor.
Survivors include one son, Mark K. Hartness, Andover; two daughters, Karen S. Ware, Satanta, and Marilyn R. Klassen, Dodge City; three sisters, Emma Campbell, Opal Teshoney and Phillis Pfeifer, all of Bartlesville; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Lloyd and Wilbur Hartness.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Great Bend Cemetery, with the Rev. Dr. Doyle Smith officiating.
Burial will be at Great Bend Cemetery
in Great Bend.
Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Bryant-Christians Funeral Home, 1425 Patton Road, Great Bend.

LILLIAN F. JONES
Lillian F. Jones, 66, Liberal, died Wednesday, May 16, 2001, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.
She was born Jan. 24, 1935, to Monte and Bessie Mae (Osby) Richard in Timpson, Texas.
She married George Pink in 1963. He preceded her in death.
She married Willie Jones June 12, 1979, in Clayton, N.M. He died Jan. 8, 1994.
She moved to Liberal in 1977, and was employed as a cook at Liberal Good Samaritan Center and Wheatridge Park Care Center for many years.
She was a member of the Community Baptist Church in Liberal.
Survivors include two sons, Oscar Richard, Humble, Texas, and Edward Gipson, Abilene, Texas; one daughter, Pamela Gipson, Crosby, Texas; two brothers, Thaddus Richard and Lathan Richard, both of Crosby; one sister, Alice Freeman, Houston; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and two sisters.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. today at Miller Chapel in Liberal with the Rev. Isaac Leon presiding.
Burial was be at the Liberal Cemetery
in Liberal.
Miller Mortuary in Liberal was in charge of arrangements.
ALFRED J. ROBINSON
ELKHART -- Alfred J. Robinson, 68, died Saturday, May 19, 2001, at Baptist-St. Anthony Hospital in Amarillo, Texas.
He was born May 19, 1933, to Alfred J. and Minnie (Wainscott) Robinson in Guymon, Okla.
He married Joyce Kirk April 29, 1953, in Clayton, N.M. She survives.
He had been a resident of Elkhart since 1970.
He was a truck driver for Morton County.
Other survivors include one son, Bill Robinson, Elkhart; two daughters, Carol Hall, Elkhart, and Tena Inselman, Holdenville, Okla.; one brother, Fred Robinson, Guymon, Okla.; one sister, Pauline Thompson, Manter; and eight grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Elkhart Cemetery
in Elkhart with the Rev. Dewey Harris presiding.
Burial will be at Elkhart Cemetery.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today at Harrell Funeral Home in Elkhart.

BRUCE J. BERINGER
ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- Bruce J. Beringer, 54, Englewood, formerly of Liberal, died Wednesday, May 9, 2001, in Littleton, Colo.
He was born Nov. 2, 1946, to Fay F. and Ella Agnes (Tyler) Beringer in Amarillo, Texas.
He attended school in Guymon, Okla., and graduated from Liberal High School.
He received a degree in business from Wichita State University in 1971, and moved to the Denver area in 1972.
He attended Appraisal Institute and was a Colorado certified general real estate appraiser.
His hobbies included classic cars, photography and bicycling.
Survivors include two step-daughters, Lori Baird, Englewood, and Melissa Baird, Aurora, Colo.; one brother, Scott Beringer, Highland Ranch, Colo.; and one sister, Sharon Beringer, North Hollywood, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Liberal Cemetery
in Liberal with the Rev. Rex Petty officiating.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and from 8-9:30 a.m. Thursday at Miller Mortuary in Liberal.
T. EUGENE LEE
PLAINS -- T. Eugene Lee, 72, died Wednesday, May 23, 2001, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.
He was born Oct. 20, 1928, to John William and Grace Catherine (Copeland) Lee in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
He married Iona Marie Lynde Dec. 11, 1948, in Piggott, Ark. She survives.
He graduated from Poplar Bluff High School in 1946.
He had been a resident of Plains since 1951.
He was employed as a mechanic at Satterfield Oil company, as a bookkeeper at Mikes Oil and as a farmer.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Plains.
Other survivors include three sons, Gary Lee, East Windsor, N.J., Larry Lee and Ron Lee, both of Plains; one daughter, Linda Wells, Plains; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church in Plains with the Rev. Vernon Maelzer and Pastor Jim Dunn presiding.
Burial will be at the Plains Cemetery
in Plains.
Friends may call from 1-7 p.m. Monday at Fidler-Orme Mortuary in Meade.

RUBY E. VOTH
BEAVER, Okla. -- Ruby Evelyn Voth, 85, died Tuesday, May 22, 2001, at the Beaver County Nursing Home in Beaver.
She was born Sept. 20, 1915, to Charley Clay and Carrie Mae (Parker) Campbell in Elmwood, Okla.
She married Clarence A. Voth Sept. 9, 1969. He survives.
She graduated from Beaver High School in 1933.
She retired from the Beaver County Court Clerk's Office in Beaver.
Other survivors include two brothers, Leslie Campbell and William "Bill" Campbell, both of Beaver; and numerous other relatives.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Clark Funeral Service Chapel in Beaver with LaRon Branson and Ron Johnson presiding.
Burial will be at the Capitol View Cemetery
in Beaver.
