She was the daughter of the late James and Sally Patterson Hatchell. Survivors include one son Bobby and his wife Catherine Moore of Mercer County. One sister Erminy Chumbley of Harrodsburg, one grandson Bobby Moore, Jr. Of Mercer County, one niece and two nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother William M. Hatchell and one sister Betty Farney.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Benton Baptist Church.

A private funeral service will be held at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. James Harley officiating. Burial will be in Patterson Cemetery with Donnie Davis, Ronnie Stinnett, Gene Stinnett, Jasper Denney, Charlie Denney, and Allen Farney serving as pallbearers.

No public visitation will be held. Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home in Harrodsburg in charge of arrangements.

Paternal grandmother Debbie VanArsdall of Harrodsburg. Paternal grandfather Mark VanArsdall of Shreveport, Louisiana. Paternal great grandparents Alfred and Kathy VanArsdall of Harrodsburg. Paternal great grandmother Rosetta Courtney of Harrodsburg. Paternal great grandfather Marvin Phillips of Danville. Maternal great grandmother Anna Bays of Perryville. Maternal step great grandfather Ralph Bays of Perryville.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather Joe Tingle.

Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 A.M. Thursday January 5, 2005 at Spring Hill Cemetery by Rev. Geoffrry Barrett. Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home are in charge of arrangements.

She was the widow of William Cecil Devine. She was the daughter of the late Felix and Martha Carey Click. The mother of James Lindsey and his wife Gayle Devine of Danville. Five grandchildren and six great grandchildren, three step grandchildren and seven step great grandchildren. One son Charles Walter Devine preceded her in death.

She attended Eastern Kentucky Teachers College. A former teacher at the Black School on Deep Creek Road in Mercer County. She was a member of Ellers Memorial Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Wednesday January 5, 2005 at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Dr. Kenneth Whitehouse. Interment will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 12:00 noon until the hour of service at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.

Mrs. Ruby Mae Harrison, 62, of Acre Drive, Danville, wife of Robert Harrison died Wednesday, February 23, 2005 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Born July 9, 1942 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Edwin Lee and Mary Elizabeth Coleman Taylor. She was a homemaker and a member of the Junction City First Baptist Church. She enjoyed camping, fishing, and being actively involved in her church.

Besides her husband, Ruby is survived by three sons: Thomas Lee Harrison of Parksville, David Lynn Harrison of Junction City, and James Edwin Harrison of Moreland. One daughter Elizabeth Ann Gover of Danville, three brothers: Leroy Taylor and Herman Taylor both of Danville and Fred Darson of Jackson, Ohio. One sister Carolyn Hardin of Moreland, three granddaughters, three grandsons, and two great grandsons, and several nieces and nephews also survive. She also leaves behind her special pet toy poodle Ginger.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 26, 2005 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home. Burial will be in Burgin Memorial Gardens with David Harrison, D.J. Stephens, Clinton Daugherty, John Hall, James Taylor, Harrison Hardin, Jr., and Russell Hardin serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday and after 7:00 a.m. Saturday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.

Pitman, Dorothy Lee Taylor

February 21, 1925 - February 21, 2005

She was the wife of Buel Thomas Pitman and the daughter of the late Willy and Alma McKinney Taylor. Additional survivors besides her husband include: three daughters: Linda Matsushima and her husband Alan of Hawaii, Jenny Alverson and her husband Jeff, Ringgold, Georgia and Kathy Brogli of Lancaster; two sisters: Frances Collier, Lexington and Evelyn Cummins and her husband Walter, Danville; six grandchildren: Robert Matsushima, Jeffrey Matsushima, Anita Kelly, John Alverson, Stephen Brogli and Jeremy Brogli and four great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister: Gladys Taylor Sanders and one brother Marvin Taylor.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 24, 2005 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Best and Dr. Jeff Alverson officiating. Burial will be in the Shawnee Run Baptist Church Cemetery with Robert Matsushima, Jeff Matsushima, Sean Kelly, John Alverson, Stephen Brogli and Jeremy Brogli serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday and after 7:00 a.m. Friday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.

Deatherage , Bruce Allen
March 10, 1957 - February 20, 2005

Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. Saturday February 26, 2005 at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home
Visitation: There will be no visitation.
He was the son of Glenna Watts Deatherage, Harrodsburg and the late Don Deatherage. Additional survivors besides his mother include: two sons: Bruce Hartman Deatherage, Danville and Patrick Deatherage, Paoli, Indiana; one step-daughter: Tiffany Stull, Louisville; two brothers: Kenneth Wayne Deatherage, Franklin County and Jamie Deatherage, Arkansas; one sister: Donna Jean Brett and her husband Jim of Arkansas; one grandchild: Draeger Deatherage and two step-grandchildren: Whitney Archer and Samantha Archer; three nieces and three nephews.

He was a former technician employee of Fredrick Research in Maryland and served in the Kentucky National Gaurd. He enjoyed University of Kentucky football and basketball.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 26, 2005 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemtery.

He was the son of Robert R. Phillips, Sr. Of Harrodsburg and the late Carolyn J. Bruner Phillips.

Besides his father, Robert is survived by one brother William T. Phillips and his wife Donna of Harrodsburg, two sisters; Diane Preston and her husband Danny of Harrodsburg, and Susan C. Phillips of Hamilton, Ohio. Three nephews and one niece also survive.

Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 22, 2005 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Greg Humpert officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery with Bobby Carrier, Jr., Jeff Gullett, Bobby Walters, Sr., Bobby Walters, Jr., Justin Ellis, Earl Sheets, Tim Moore, and James Preston serving as pallbearers. Members of the Harrodsburg City Fire Department will serve as honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. To 9:00 p.m. Monday and after 7:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.

Baker, Chester Rudolph

He was the son of the late Robert and Naomi Byrd Baker. Mr. Baker is survived by his five sons: Rudolph and his wife Carolyn Baker of Danville, Bruce and his wife Patricia Baker of Burgin, Connie Dale Baker of Mercer County, and Gary Wayne Baker of Mercer County and Michael Baker of Mercer County. Two brothers Leroy Charles Baker of Mercer County and Bobby Baker of Burgin. Two sisters: Lois Baker Carney of Willisburg and Wanda Mann of Louisville. Nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by one grandchild.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 22, 2005 at the Evergreen Cemetery in Willisburg with Bro. Donnie Irvin officiating . Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. To 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.

Griswold, Ralph G.

He was the husband of Carroll Cushman Griswold. He was the son of the late Ralph S. Griswold, Sr. and Eva May Griswold. Additional survivors besides his wife include: two daughters: Jean Griswold Rhodes of Mercer County and Beverly Mason (Jeff) of Versailles; two step-sons: Bob Gibbs of Henderson, and Tom Gibbs of Venezuela; one brother: Paul Edwin Griswold (Ann) of Paris; two sisters: Gladys Wheat and Geraldine Hughes both of Lexington; four grandchildren and five step grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Three sisters: Ruth May Saxman, Joyce Wilson and Irene Cornish preceded him in death.

Memorial services will be held 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 22, 2005 at the Harrodsburg United Methodist Church in Harrodsburg with Rev. Jimmy Owens and Chaplain Gary Story officiating. Interment will be in Camp Nelson National Cemetery at a later

She was the daughter of the late Owen J. and Ethel Satterly Noel. Survivors include her sister Beulah Isham of Mackville, one niece Joylyn Smith of Lexington, two grand-nieces Beverly and Kristen Taulbee of Bowling Green and one grand-nephew Ryne Taulbee also of Bowling Green. She was preceded in death by her brother O.J. Noel, Jr..

She was a graduate of Campbellsville College and a member of the Willisburg Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 20, 2005 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Rev. Ralph Neal. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Willisburg. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until time of service Sunday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.

He was the son of the late Page and Pearl Leonard Bailey. He was the husband of Mildred Donovan Bailey. Additional survivors besides his wife include: three daughters: Gloria Davis, Harrodsburg, Paula Freeman-Cairns and her husband, Bob, Harrodsburg, Patricia Lumpkin and her husband, Doug, Knoxville, Tn and Donna Freeman, Louisville; two grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother: William Bailey; three sisters: his twin sister: Mary Hatchell, Bertie Claunch and Beatrice Mobley.

He was a WWII Veteran of the U.S. Army and was a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church and the Mercer Lodge 777 F&AM.

He had been a butcher at Bailey’s Supermarket, manager of Burgin Rock Quarry, a former Volunteer Fire Fighter, was a Kentucky State Arson Investigator, a retired funeral director, a former co-owner of Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home and Coyle Funeral Home in Perryville and most recently a farmer. He was also a well known antique car collector.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 15, 2005 at the Harrodsburg Baptist Church with Dr. Robert DeFoor officiating. Burial with military Honors will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery with Ronnie Bailey, Paul Hunter Davis, Damon Dak Davis, Doug Lumpkin, Jerry Davis and Bob Cairns serving as pallbearers and John D. Brown, Johnny Thornton, Curtis Bailey, David A. Taylor, Charles Carr, Jack Bailey, Terry B. Mobley and L.G. Meeks serving as honorary pallbearers.

Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday and 7:00 a.m. To 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home and 12 Noon Tuesday at the Harrodsburg Baptist Church.
