Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth, with visitation from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Butler Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to American Heart Association, 1885 Dixie Highway, Suite 250, Fort Wright, Kentucky 41011, or Hardin Browning American Legion Post 109, Falmouth, Kentucky 41040.

Mary Faye Surgener Wilson, 42, of Taylor Mill, died Tuesday at Jewish Hospital Kenwood, Cincinnati.

Survivors include her husband, Mark S. Wilson; sons, Kenneth Wayne Overbee and Christian Steven Wilson of Taylor Mill; a brother, Harold Surgener of Corbin; and a sister, Lola Surgener of Savannah, Tenn.

Memorial services will be at 6 p.m. Friday at New Macedonia Baptist Church, Newport, after a reception at 4 p.m. Flowers should be delivered to the church after 2 p.m. Friday. Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Florence, is handling arrangements.

Elizabeth McHenry Winzig, 93, of Fort Thomas, died at 1:55 p.m. Tuesday at Highlands of Fort Thomas Nursing Home in Fort Thomas. She was a homemaker.

Her husband, Carroll Winzig, preceded her in death. Survivors include nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate. Memorials are suggested to Highland United Methodist Church, 314 N. Fort Thomas Ave., Fort Thomas, Kentucky 41075. Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Fort Thomas, is handling arrangements.

Robert Finnan, friend to many

People loved being around Robert J. Finnan Sr. of Crestview Hills.

"He always had a lot of friends," said his son, John Finnan of Crestview Hills. "He was well-liked by everyone. He was just a really nice guy. I've never heard anyone speak an unkind word about him."

Robert Finnan, 85, died Sunday at St. Charles Care Center, Covington. He was a retired director of industrial relations at Wayne Corp. in Richmond, Ind. He also was a member of St. Pius X Church in Edgewood.

Mr. Finnan loved sports and played tennis three times a week until he was in his 80s. "He was pretty good," his son said.

Mr. Finnan also was a care giver, taking care of his late wife, Florence Finnan, when she was ill and always helping with the grandkids, John Finnan said.

"He loved his family. He lived with us for the last six years. We were privileged to have him with us."

Other survivors include a daughter, Carol McIntosh of Covington; a son, Robert J. Finnan Jr. of Costa Mesa, Calif.; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services are at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Pius X Church. Mass of Christian burial will be at noon. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Fort Mitchell.

Memorials are suggested to the St. Charles Care Center, 500 Farrell Drive, Covington, 41011. Loretta A. Ashcraft, 62, of Newport, died Sunday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North, Covington. She was a homemaker and a member of East Bend Baptist Church. Her husband, Wayne L. Ashcraft, died in 1998.

Survivors include sons, Mark Ashcraft of Newport, Timothy Ashcraft of Litchfield, Ohio, Brian Ashcraft and Darrell Ashcraft, both of Newport; brothers, Larry Gamble of Boca Raton, Fla., Leonard Gamble of Morning View, James Gamble of Newport, Robert Gamble of Fairfield, Ohio, David Gamble of Versailles, Dennis Gamble of Norwood, Ohio, and Johnny Gamble of Union; sisters, Virginia Bozard of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Wanda Hines of Malvern, Ark., Betty Mitts of Covington, Kathy Barice of Cincinnati and Janice Gamble of Union; and two grandchildren.

Services will be at noon Thursday at Stith Funeral Home, Florence. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in East Bend Methodist Cemetery, Boone County. Memorials are suggested to East Bend Baptist Church, 12246 Lower River Road, Union, Kentucky 41091.

Richard Dale Baston, 74, of Dry Ridge, died Monday at his home. He was a retired farmer and a member of Dry Ridge Baptist Church.

He was a deacon, treasurer, trustee and a Sunday school teacher and superintendent with the church and a Navy veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Edna Belew Baston; daughters, Becky Peddicord of Conyers, Ga., Debbie Baston of Taylor Mill, Patty Miller of San Antonio and Kim Owen of Lexington; brothers, Conrad Baston of French Creek, W.Va., and Philip Baston of Greentown, Ohio; and three grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Dry Ridge Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Eckler-Hudson Funeral Home, Dry Ridge. Burial will be in Hill Crest Cemetery, Dry Ridge. Memorials are suggested to National Kidney Foundation, 250 E. Carl Nicholas Beck II, 53, of Latonia, died Saturday at Springfield, Ohio, Community Hospital.

He was a truck driver with King's Trucking Co.

Survivors include a daughter, Patricia A. Beck of Jonesville; sons, Carl N. Beck III of Foster, Michael R. Beck of Williamstown and David W. Beck of Covington; his parents, Wayne and Augusta Beck of Foster; sisters, Duane Sublette of San Diego, Geneva Reimer of Independence, Mary Ann Beck of Odessa, Fla., and Vicki Jo Beck of Erlanger; a brother, John Wayne Beck of Newport, Wash.; and his fiancee, Lena Cassie Cook.

Troy Allen Bishop, 26, of Covington, died at 7:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North, Covington.

Survivors include daughters, Cheyenne Marie Bishop and Summer Rae Bishop, both of Covington; his father, Albert Bishop of Covington; sisters, Carla Golsby and Tracy Ryder, both of Covington; and half-brothers, William Moore and Brian Moore, both of Erlanger.

Magdalene Frances Boling, 86, of Bellevue, died at 8:40 a.m. Sunday at Wesley Hall, Cincinnati. She was a homemaker. Her husband, Charles Boling, died in 1972.

Survivors include sons, Charles Boling of Foster, Patrick Boling of Alexandria and Ed Boling of Bellevue; daughters, Charlene Boling of Alexandria, Stella Pott and Elaine Koper, both of Cincinnati, Patricia Snedegar of Lexington, Peg Sensel of Crestview and Fran Berkemeyer of Melbourne; sisters, Loretta Buckley of Bellevue and Katherine Boekley of Alexandria; 18 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Clara E. Haubner Burkhardt, 88, of Fort Wright, died at 4:45 p.m. Sunday at St. Charles Care Center, Covington. She was a retired nurse's aide with Baptist Convalescent Center, Newport, and a member of St. Mary Seniors and Ladies Auxiliary of Knights of Columbus Father DeJaco Council No. 5220, Alexandria. Her husband, Alphonse Burkhardt, died in 1982.

Survivors include a son, Carl Burkhardt of Bellevue; daughters, Nancy Woods of Fort Thomas, Margie Neltner of Independence and Linda Wiles of Florence; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Church, Alexandria. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Alexandria Funeral Home, followed by prayers. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Alexandria.

Survivors include her husband, Ben Helton; daughters, Alene Roundtree of Florence, Joan Peebles of Morning View and Katherine Musgrave of Rising Sun, Ind.; sons, Tom Helton of Visalia and Champy Helton, at home; stepsons, Robert Helton of Morning View and B.
