JESS "RED" MARPLE, AGE 85
Mr. Jesse “Red” Marple, age 85, of Lowell Avenue Campbellsville, died Wednesday, December 3, 2003 at the Taylor Regional Hospital after an illness. He was the son of the late Jesse William and Jenny Styles Marple of Taylor County. He was a retired employee of the Bourbon Cooperage in Lebanon. He was preceded in death by one son, Darrell Dewayne Marple. Mr. Jesse “Red” Marple is survived by his wife Edith Marie Lawson Marple, one son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Bettina Marple of Elizabethtown, and one daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Billy C. Milby of Campbellsville, three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, one step-grandchild and two step-great-grandchildren, two sisters, Kathryn Arnold and Louise Bolander both of Indiana also survive along with several other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services for Mr. Jesse “Red” Marple were conducted at 11:00 A. M. Friday, December 5, 2003 at the Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Brookside Cemetery.

CLEO FERGUSON DAVIS, AGE 81
Mrs. Cleo Ferguson Davis, age 81 of North Jackson Street, Campbellsville died Sunday November 30, 2003 at T. J. Sampson Hospital in Glasgow, Kentucky after an illness. She was the daughter of the late Luther and Marie Spires Knifley. She was a retired employee of the Campbellsville Fruit of the Loom Company and a member of the Woodlawn Christian Church. She was also preceded in death by a brother Travis Knifley. Mrs. Davis is survived by her husband, Coy Davis of Campbellsville, two sons and three step- daughters, Scotty Ferguson of Columbia, Michael Ferguson of Elkhorn, Cherry Harvey and Carolyn Bennett both of Campbellsville, Charolette Campbell of Bowling Green, four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild, one sister Inez Jones of Indiana. Several other relatives and a host of friends also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Cleo Ferguson Davis were held at 10:00 A. M. Tuesday, December 2, 2003 at the Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Chapel Cemetery in Adair County. Brother Fella Wilson officiated.

RAY KNIFLEY
Ray Knifley of Gowdy Street, Campbellsville, son of the late W. R. Knifley and Lena Williams Knifley was born icon in Adair County, Kentucky, December 31, 1910. He died at 9:20 P. M. Monday, November 24, 2003 in Campbellsville. Age: 92 He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Campbellsville Christian Church. He united in marriage to Edna Campbell in 1932. She preceded him in death November 20, 1997. He is survived by one daughter and one son: Julia L. Knifley of Campbellsville and W. R. Knifley of Smiths Grove, Kentucky; two grandchildren: Greg Knifley and wife Joy of Hamilton, Ohio, Ella Christensen and husband Kevin of Arapahoe, Nebraska; four great-grandchildren: Hunter Knifley of Hamilton, Ohio, Haley Christensen, Lily Christensen and Chloe Christensen all of Arapahoe, Nebraska; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by one brother, Buford Knifley.

Ollie Christie of Howell Street, Campbellsville, formerly of the Yuma Community of Taylor County, daughter of the late Aaron H. Watson and Annie Morris Watson was born icon June 27, 1903, in Adair County, Kentucky. She died at 9:05 P. M., Friday, November 21, 2003, in Campbellsville. Age: 100. She had professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Christie Chapel United Methodist Church. She united in marriage to Lonzie B. Christie January 2, 1958. He preceded her in death October 28, 1967. She is survived by one niece and two nephews: JoAnn Gaddis, Doug Watson and Wendell Watson of Campbellsville and many other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by two sisters and one brother: Eula Weatherford, Ethel Watson and Ernest Watson.

Frances Arlene Corbin of New Columbia Road, Campbellsville, daughter of the late Walter M. Bowen and Mary Weatherford Bowen was born icon November 23, 1923, in Adair County, Kentucky. She died at 3:50 P. M., Saturday, November 22, 2003, in Campbellsville. She professed faith in Christ. She united in marriage to Finis Corbin October 10, 1949. He preceded her in death January 18, 1988. She was a former secretary at Southern States Coop. She is survived by one brother and his wife, William Max and Naomi Bowen of Shepherdsville; her companion, Delmar Foster of Campbellsville and his children and their spouses: Linda and Preston Forrest, Mike and Cookie Foster, and Carol and Donnie Atwood of Campbellsville and Howard and Diane Foster and Darrell Foster of Columbia; three nieces and their husbands: Cynthia and Mark Davis of Louisville, Sherry and Terry Allen of Taylorsville and Vickie and Paul Malone of New Albany, Indiana; several great nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Katherine Bowen.

WINNIE B. CAUDILL
Winnie B. Caudill of San Diego, California, formerly of Campbellsville, daughter of the late William Alvin Robinson and Mary Alice Settles Robinson was born icon November 25, 1908 in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 1:20 P. M. Thursday, November 20, 2003 in California. Age: 94 She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She was a member of the Rebecca’s and had held several offices including Noble Grand Officer and Matriarch, and a member of Pocahontas. She united in marriage to Gilbert Caudill who preceded her in death. She is survived by three nieces and one nephew: Carolyn Baker and Gloria Deener of Campbellsville, Jana Gore of Elizabethtown and Ben Reynolds of Lexington; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters: Leo Robinson, Hobert Robinson, Otha Reynolds and Mabel Knopp.

Neva Blevins Morris of Lowell Avenue, Campbellsville, daughter of the late William Thomas Blevins and Anna Mary Hunt Blevins was born icon in Taylor County, Kentucky, May 1, 1921. She died at 1:10 A. M. Wednesday November 26, 2003 in Campbellsville. Age: 82 She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Lowell Avenue Baptist Church. She united in marriage to Joe T. “Jody” Morris February 9, 1945. He preceded her in death February 9, 2003. She is survived by four brothers and sisters: Delora Ford and husband Paul, Ivan Blevins and wife Judy of Campbellsville, Ina Tucker of New Albany, Indiana and Haskel Blevins and wife Marie of Lake Placid, Florida; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister: Cecil Blevins, Thomas Blevins, William Blevins, Otha Blevins and Vada Thomas.

M., Monday, November 24, 2003, in Campbellsville. Age: 84. He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Campbellsville Baptist Church. He was the former owner and operator of Service Cleaners. He united in marriage to Corinne Dowell July 26, 1940. Besides his wife, Corinne Allen of Coakley Street, Campbellsville, he is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, William Dowell and Evelyn Allen of Chase City, Virginia; two grandchildren, Janice Carol Allen of Kansas City, Missouri and David Joel Allen of Apex, North Carolina; two step-grandchildren, Sharon Nuckols and husband Gary of Richmond, Virginia, and Alan Sanders of Zebulon, North Carolina; two great-grandchildren, Emily Gonzales of San Antonio, Texas and Ryan Allen of Kansas City, Missouri; one step-great-granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth Nuckols of Richmond, Virginia; two sisters, Helen Squires of Campbellsville and Geneva Allen Stevens of Owensboro; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by one brother and three sisters: Aldophus Allen Jr., Virginia Heath, Eva Rees, and Elizabeth Rainwater.

Hartince “Tiney” Gore, age 66 of Gardner Street, Campbellsville, died Saturday, February 25, 2006 at her residence. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbert and Elsie Helm, one brother, Auburn Helm and one grandson, Brandon Gore. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Hal and Brittany Gore of Campbellsville, three daughters and sons-in-law, Vickie and Phillip Buckman of Campbellsville and Kay and Jerry Dile of Summersville, Renee Marcum and companion, Jeff Roark of Campbellsville, six grandchildren and one great grandchild. Also surviving are three sisters, Bernice Lowery of Campbellsville, Ann Overstreet of Bradfordsville and Eulondia Shoemaker of Sheperdsville. Funeral services for Hortense “Tiney” Gore will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, February 28, 2006 at the Lyon DeWitt Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens. LYMAN LINCOLN FLOYD, AGE 83
Mr. Lyman Lincoln Floyd 83 Mr. Lyman Lincoln Floyd, age 83, of Roberts Road, Campbellsville, died Wednesday, February 22, 2006, at the Taylor Regional Hospital after an illness. He was the son of the late Early Floyd and Bessie Patterson Floyd of Green County. He was of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church and a retired employee of the Fruit of the Loom Company in Campbellsville. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Magdeline Floyd, one brother and two sisters, Cleston Floyd, Lois Marie Morrison and Irene Floyd. Mr. Floyd is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law and four daughters and sons-in-law, Billy and Brenda Floyd, Larry and Betty Floyd of Campbellsville, Sue and Carlos Patterson of Greensburg, Linda and Jerry Barnett and Patsy and Eddie Cowherd of Campbellsville and Lisa and Dale Petty of Columbia. Twelve grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren also survive along with one sister Frances Davis of Greensburg. Funeral services for Mr. Lyman Lincoln Floyd were held at 11:00 A. M. Friday, February 24, 2006, at the Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Brookside Cemetery. Brother Al Hardy officiated.

Ernest Skaggs, Jr, age 78, of Charles Allen Road, Raywick, formerly of Taylor County, died Sunday, February 19, 2006 at Taylor Regional Hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Lena Skaggs, one son, Ronald Lee Skaggs and one brother, Earl Skaggs. He was a lifetime member of Zion Separate Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Lucy Skaggs, of Campbellsville, six sons and daughters-in law, Gary Junior & Diana Skaggs. David Wayne Skaggs, Robert Earl & Denise Skaggs and Jerrit Lynn & Teresa Skaggs of Campbellsville, John Wesley & Lana Skaggs of Bardstown, Lawrence DeWayne Skaggs of Louisville, six daughters and sons-in-law , Mary Geneva & Tony Bright, Annette & Steve Bolin, Eyvonee Skaggs of Campbellsville, Joyce Cox Cole & Ken of Louisville, Tammy Louise &Gary Morgan of Eubank and Julie Ann Brown of Lebanon, thirty one grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Allan Sapp of Campbellsville, one son, Jody Sapp of Campbellsville, one daughter and son-in-law, Nikki and David Pierce of Campbellsville, three grandchildren, Charlie Miller, Chelsie Pierce and Tommy Beckley, her mother, Sybil Morgan of Lebanon, three brothers, Steve Morgan and Ron Morgan of Campbellsville, and Tony Morgan of Greensburg, four sisters, Vickie Gribbins and Carla Mattingly of Lebanon, Sherry Morgan of Campbellsville and Tammy Ervin of Glasgow.
