Services for James William Fox, 87, of Paducah will be at 7 p.m. Saturday at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Andy Clausen and Dan Owen officiating.

Burial will be at 11 a.m. August 8 at Rosedale Cemetery in Dawson Springs.

Mr. Fox died at 6 a.m. Thursday at his home.

A native of Dawson Springs, he retired from the Paducah Public Schools as a shop teacher and director of building and grounds. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a member and deacon of Broadway Church of Christ.

Surviving are three daughters, Charlotte Jean Fox Messmer of Williamsburg, Va., and Susan Jane Fox Wood and Melissa Ann Fox Cothran, both of Paducah; a son, James "Jim" Erwin Fox of Knoxville, Tenn; two stepdaughters, Marla Dawn Brown Lynch and Tana Brown Foster, both of Nashville, Tenn.; six grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gladys Imogene Smiley Fox; his second wife Clotene Brown Fox; and a sister. His parents were William Hardy Fox and Bertha Edna Boitnott Fox.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Salvation Army, 2900 Trimble St., Paducah, KY 42001; or Broadway Church of Christ, 2855 Broadway, Paducah, KY 42001.

Mr. Danny Lee Pierce

Danny Lee Pierce, 73, of Paducah, died at 10:35 a.m. Monday, Aug. 2, 2004, at Western Baptist Hospital.

Mr. Pierce was general manager of Wagner Candy Co. for 45 years and retired as a private business consultant for Wagner Wholesale Co. He was a member of Reidland Church of Christ and was very active in the Bible Class held at the Trader's Mall in Reidland.

Mr. Pierce is survived by his wife, Mary Ruth Short Pierce; his daughter and son-in-law, Deborah Kaye and Kenneth Ferrell of Paducah; his granddaughter, Jacqueline Ferrell of Paducah; and his grandson, Gregory Ferrell of Louisville.

Mr. Pierce was preceded in death by one brother, David Reed Pierce. His parents were Amos D. and Ruby Jane York Pierce.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2004, at Oakland Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Terrell Lee and Mike Wooley will officiate.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today, Aug. 3, 2004, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.

John Ellis

Services for John Ellis, 68, of Paducah will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with the Rev. Pat Reynolds officiating. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery.

Mr. Ellis died at 4:35 p.m. Wednesday at Western Baptist Hospital.

He retired as director of public works for the city of Paducah and worked for USEC and Wal-Mart after retirement.

Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Dorothy Boren Ellis; two daughters, Donna Fiers and Janie Page, both of Paducah; a son, John Ellis of Dallas; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers. His parents were Dell and Flora Kirk Ellis.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Funeral home.

Services for Thomas "T.J." Pryor, 78, of Hickory, formerly of South Lyon, Mich., will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, 2004, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Lone Oak with the Rev. C.W. Barnhill officiating. Burial will be in Allcock Cemetery in Melber.

Mr. Pryor died at 5 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004, at his home.

A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was a retired factory worker and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are two sons, Randy Pryor of West Frankfort, Ill., and Dale Pryor of Westland, Mich.; two sisters, Olala Reinheimer of Pottsville and May Swaringens of Tahoe Village, Nev.; four brothers, Giddeon Pryor, Bill Pryor, and Kenneth Pryor, all of Melber, and Marvin Pryor of West Paducah; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Pryor was preceded in death by his wife, Runell Powers Pryor; one sister; and two brothers. His parents were Giddeon and Eva Nall Pryor.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 6, 2004, at the Funeral home.

Services for Robert Owen Jones, 85, of Gilbertsville will be at 2 p.m. today at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with the Rev. Darvin Stom officiating. Burial will be in Murray City Cemetery.

Mr. Jones retired as a fire driver at Union Carbide after 27 years of service. A Murray native, he was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II who served with the 2nd Armored Division. He was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Onita Futrell Jones; a daughter, Gelia Chappell of Reidland; a brother, Clifton E. Jones of Murray; three grandchildren, David Pendergrass, Patricia Partin and Jonathon Pendergrass, all of Paducah; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

His parents were George Wesley and Grace Cooper Jones.

Friends may call after noon today at the Funeral home.

Services for George B. Barriger, 93, of Cunningham will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Bardwell. The Rev. John L. Curtis will officiate, with burial in Cunningham Cemetery.

Mr. Barriger died at 11:55 a.m. Saturday at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah.

He was a farmer and construction worker. He was of the Church of Christ faith.

Surviving are his wife of 73 years, Geneva Pearl Barriger; one daughter, Mary Lou Wilson of Calvert City; one son, William Brodie Barriger of Cunningham; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Helen Sue Beardsley, and three sisters. His parents were Solomon E. Barriger and Lou Gela Willingham Barriger.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 this evening at the Funeral home.

Graveside services for Thomas A. McClure, 79, of Paducah will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hardmoney Cemetery. The Rev. Terry Sills will officiate.

Mr. McClure died at 3:15 p.m. Saturday at Western Baptist Hospital.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the Philippines. He retired from Illinois Central Railroad after 30 years of service. He was a member of West End Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Nadine Byerley McClure; two daughters, Barbara Jean Scott of Atlanta and Patricia Ann Weeks of Louisville; two grandchildren, Thomas Wayne Howard of Paducah and Terrie Alley Pruett of Dacula, Ga.; and three great-grandchildren.

His parents were Clyde and Ola Belle Adams McClure.

Billy E. Luton, 77, of Paducah died at 12:50 a.m. Sunday at Lourdes hospital.

Mr. Luton was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in Japan. He retired after 35 years as a repair clerk for South Central Bell. He was a life member of the Telephone Pioneers and had been named a Kentucky Colonel. He was a member of Broadway United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Inez Weatherington Luton; a son, David Luton of Metropolis; two sisters, Oma Elliott and Bonnie Ballard, both of Paducah; two grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one sister. His parents were Elgin and Bessie Vance Luton.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah. Dr. Henry Russell will officiate, with burial in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Funeral home.

Mrs. Martha Louise Moore

Martha Louise Moore, 83, of Paducah died at 2:30 a.m. Wednesday at her home.

Mrs. Moore retired from Western Baptist Hospital after 20 years of service. She was a member of Broadway Church of Christ.

Surviving are her husband, Ralph P. Moore; two sons, Raymond Moore of Eddyville and Gary Moore of Lexington; four grandchildren, Ashley Moore Reid and John Phillip Moore, both of Murray, and Brandon Moore and Meredith Moore, both of Lexington; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Richard Philip Moore; her parents, H.T. and Minnie Cole Lewis; and a brother.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens Chapel with Dan Owen officiating. Entombment will follow at the Woodlawn mausoleum.

Eva C. "Jean" Flewallen, 82, of Paducah died at 8:25 a.m. Thursday at Western Baptist Hospital.

Mrs. Flewallen was a member of Broadway Baptist Church and retired from International Union of Operating Engineers Local 181.

Surviving are a brother, W.D. Mitchell of Paducah; a niece, Donna Steel of Corinth, Texas; and a nephew, Charles Mitchell of Paducah.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dallas Flewallen; a brother; and two sisters. Her parents were Rollie and Gwendolyn Holcomb Mitchell.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Broadway Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Hatcher officiating. Burial will be in Maplelawn Park Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah and after 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.
