A resident of Stephenson for 45 years, Mr. Hess was a member of the Baptist Church and was a retired coal miner. Surviors include 3 daughters: Flossie Gree and Beatrice Martin both o f Arkansas and Agnes Rooke of Kansas; 3 sons: Tencil Hess and Martin Hess both of Stephenson and Nathan Hess of Indian Gap, Virginia, 85 grandchildren, 53 ggrandchildren and 38 gggrandchildren.
