Katherine Louise Rogers, 79, of 1624 Scherm Rd., Owensboro passed away Saturday, August 30, 2003 at her home. She was born January 16, 1924; married Robert W. Rogers on March 19,1944; was an exceptional homemaker, an employee of the Natural History Association, and a long-standing active member of Wesleyan Heights United Methodist Church. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, square dancing, knitting, and the beauty of the outdoors.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Robert Rogers; two daughters and a son-in-law, Joan Mundt of Virginia and Linda and Ray Minton of Owensboro; one son and a daughter-in-law, Larry and Janet Rogers of Michigan; eight grandchildren, Stephen Szefi of Owensboro, Rebekah Brummett of Louisville, Brenton Mundt , Brian Roberts, Tim Roberts, and Andrew Roberts all of Washington State, and Lindsay and Kimberly Rogers of Michigan; three great-grandchildren, Hannah Szefi and Haley and Michael Roberts.

Funeral services will 2:00 p.m.Tuesday, September 2, 2003 at Glenn Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Carter officiating. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from1 to 6 p.m.on Monday, September 1, 2003 and after 12:00 p.m.on Tuesday.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Wesleyan Heights United Methodist Church, 1215 Scherm Rd., Owensboro, KY 42301 or the Hospice Association, 723 Harvard Dr., Owensboro, KY 42301.

James Richard Davis, Sr. 69, of 4312 Jefferson St., Owensboro, died Saturday, October 11, 2003 at the Owensboro Mercy Health System. The Daviess County native retired from A& P Groceries after 28 years and worked for Medley Distillery and Barton Brands for 14 years. He was a member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church and the American Legion; served in the Naval Reserve for 8 years; and enjoyed reading and spending time with his grandson.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Anna Marie Oberst Davis; two sons, James Richard Davis, Jr. of Cincinnati and Michael J. Davis of Owensboro ; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Mark Steitler of Owensboro; a grandson, Daniel Mark Steitler of Owensboro; his mother, Myrtle Davis of Owensboro; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Marian Davis of Owensboro; two brothers-in-law, Gerald (and Mary Ann) Oberst of Owensboro and Clete (and Dee) Oberst of Dayton, OH; three sisters-in-law, Rose (and Al) Clark, Margaret Oberst, and Elizabeth O’Bryan all of Owensboro; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are at 10 A.M. Tuesday, October 14, 2003 at the Blessed Mother Catholic Church with burial in Mater Dolorosa cemetery. Visitation will be at the Glenn Funeral Home from 3-8 P.M. on Monday and after 8:30 A.M. on Tuesday. Prayers will be said at the funeral home at 6:30 P.M. on Monday.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Ursuline Sisters of Mount Saint Joseph or the Passionist Monastery.

Logan Jacob Satterly, 17, of Owensboro died Friday, December 19, 2003 from injuries suffered in an automobile accident near Whitesville. Logan was born in Owensboro on February 22, 1986 and was a senior at Apollo High School. He played drums in the Apollo Marching and Jazz Bands, and was a member of the Eklipse Winter Drum Line in Hopkinsville, KY. He attended the Gospel of the Kingdom Church. Logan was preceded in death by his mother, Lisa Gaye Ashton Satterly on November 11, 2003 and his maternal grandfather, Delbert Allen Ashton.

Logan is survived by his father, Jackie L. Satterly; a brother, Landon Satterly, a student at the University of Kentucky in Lexington; his maternal grandmother, Syble Harrison Ashton of Owensboro; paternal grandparents, Jackson and Marilyn Satterly of Shepherdsville, KY; aunts and uncles, Jamie and Steve Richter of Louisville and Doug and Donna Satterly of Shepherdsville, KY and Phyllis and Tim Sherritt , and Debby and Charles Hatchett of Owensboro; and several cousins and friends.

Funeral services are 1 P.M. Tuesday, December 23, 2003 at Glenn Funeral Home with burial in Elmwood cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 P.M. on Monday, December 22, 2003 and after 11 A.M. on Tuesday.

Thomas Ray Maglinger, Jr., 59, of 3932 Buckland Square, Owensboro, died Saturday, March 5, 2005, at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born February 21, 1946 to the late Thomas R. and Rose Frey Maglinger, Sr. in Daviess County. He was a tool and die maker with Kentron, was a member of the Baptist Faith, and served in the Army Reserves during the Viet-Nam War. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, camping cooking bar-be-cue and listening to country music. He liked to paint, watch John Wayne movies and ride motorcycles. Anything outdoors he enjoyed doing.

He was preceded in death by one son, Darrin Maglinger and one sister, Connie Bickwermert.

Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Margie; two sons, Brian and Corey Maglinger, both of Owensboro; one daughter, Jennifer Krauss of Louisville; two brothers, Tracy Maglinger of Maceo, and Mike Maglinger of Livermore.

Services will be 6:00 PM Wednesday at Glenn Funeral Home with visitation from 10:00 AM until 6:00 PM Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society, P.O. Box 1075, Owensboro, KY, 42302.

Phillip Byron Allen

Phillip Byron Allen 'Pudge', 54, of Owensboro, died August 28, 2005 at his home. He was born October 31, 1950 in Daviess Co. to the late Nancy B. French and Cecil P. Allen. He was a member of First Baptist Church and the Boilermakers Union. In his spare time he enjoyed Nascar, horse races, and spending time with his family and friends.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia, and his sister, Nancy Parks.

Survivors include three daughters, Tammy Howard (and Tommy) of Hancock Co., Penny Pendleton (and George M.) of Owensboro, and April Allen (and Rodney Hays) of Owensboro; seven grandchildren, Bradley Pendleton, Erica Pendleton, Christian Moseley, Alyssa Beaver, Sidney Moseley, Schuyler Pendleton, and Journey Hays; one brother, Earl C. Allen of Owensboro, and one sister, Helen Bellamy of Owensboro.

Funeral services will be 2:30 Wednesday, August 31, 2005 at Glenn Funeral Home. Burial will immediately follow in Elmwood cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 30, 2005 from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday 10:00 a.m. until time of the service at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to Hospice.

Derrell S. “Red” Cross, 74, of Rockport, died Saturday, October 22, 2005 at Owensboro Medical Health System. Born in Andalusia, AL on July 12, 1931, Mr. Cross was a member of the Richland Christian Church; retired from ALCOA where he worked for over 29 years; and an Army veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Cross was a member of VFW Post 696 and the American Legion Post in Rockport.

He is survived by sons Duane and his wife Susan Cross and Myron and his wife Janet Cross of Hatfield, Ronald and his wife Sandy Cross of Grandview, and Brian Cross of Rockport; his former wife, Rose “Sam” Keller of Rockport; grandchildren, Andy Cross, Denver Cross, Travis Cross, Nicholas Cross, Kyle Cross, Virginia Cross, Megan Cross, and Ashley Cross all of Spencer County, Christopher Cross in the Marine Corps in NC; Step-grandchildren, Casey Jones of NC, Eric Baumberger in the US Army in Germany, and Nicole Hensley of Evansville; three step-great grandchildren; brothers, Virgil Cross of New York and Lester Cross of Bardwell, KY; and a sister, Deloris Cross; and several nieces and nephews.

Services are 1 P.M. Wednesday at Glenn Funeral Home officiated by Father Brian Roby with burial in St. Mary cemetery in Whitesville with miliary honors rendered by VFW Post 696. Visitation will be after 10 A.M. on Wednesday.

Ada Justus Litsey, 92, of Port Orange Fl (formerly of Owensboro) died Friday, October 21, 2005 at the Halifax Medical Center in Daytona Beach. Born August 24, 1913, Mrs. Litsey was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Mary Walden Justus. She was a homemaker; member of Dawson Baptist Church; and enjoyed raising canaries, quilting, crafts, and refinishing furniture. Mrs. Litsey was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Litsey in1984 and a daughter, Mary Lanham.

Surviving are daughters, Ada and her husband Carl Baker of Daytona Beach, Sylvia Chilton and her companion billy and Faye and her husband Carroll Adams of Port Orange; a son, Lawrence and his wife Dottie Hardy of
Clarksville, TN; a son-in-law, George Lanham, Jr. of Owensboro; 11 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

Services are 3 P.M. Wednesday, October 26, 2005 at Glenn Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Joe Thomas with burial in Sorgho Baptist Church cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 A.M. until funeral time on Wednesday.

Mamie L. Wright Mason, 64, of 723 Danberry St., Owensboro, passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2006 at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born in Daviess Co., Ky. and was a homemaker. She was a member of Garden Green Baptist Church and attended the Salvation Army where she was a Keenager. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and talking on the telephone to all her many friends and loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Stanley Wright in May, 1996 and Mary Emogene Cook Wright in Sept. 1999.

Surviving is her husband of 45 years, Donald E. Mason, two daughters and their husbands, Cheryle & Mike Farmer of Masonville, and Carol & Scott Goins of Owensboro, two sons and their wives, Darrell & Margie Mason of Masonville, and Travis & Angela Mason of Owensboro, three grandchildren, Sarah Mason, Jessica Mason, and Trenton Farmer, and a granddaughter that is expected in July, three sisters and their husbands, Mary Frances & Ellis Hall, Patty & Billy Smith, and Doris & Terry Sapp, all of Owensboro, three aunts, and several nieces & nephews, great nieces & nephews, cousins, and extended family.

Services will be at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 3, at the Glenn Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Elmwood cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday and after 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, 215 Ewing Rd., Owensboro, Ky. 42301.

The Daviess County native was born to the late William H. and Edna (King) Goins, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was retired muledriver from N.S.A., and attended Seven Hills Baptist Church. He enjoyed working in his yard and growing flowers. He was also preceded in death by a brother, William ¡§Jr.¡¨ Goins.
Mr. Goins is survived by his wife of 45 years, Pearl Midkiff Goins, and three daughters, Debbie Hayden of Philpot, Rhonda Wilson of Owensboro, and Jeanette Goins of Indianapolis, IN., three brothers, Marshall and Darrell Goins , both of Owensobo, and Matthew Goins of Ft. Myers, FL., four grandchildren, James and Allison Hayden of Philpot, and Erica and Avery Wilson, of Owensboro.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 5, 2006 at Glenn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. T.A. Prickett officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. Thursday unitl 8 p.m. Thursday and after 8:30 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in Rosehill cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Children's Cancer Society.
