Terry Dant

BEECH GROVE - Terry Dant, 54, of 249 Roland St., Beech Grove, died Friday, Sept. 9, 2005, at his home in Beech Grove. Terrance Alan Dant was born Oct. 10, 1950, in Owensboro to L.V. and Lois Thompson Dant and was better known as "Terry" by his family and friends. Terry Dant was married
to the former Donna Adeen Revlett on Oct. 17, 1970, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in St. Joseph. He was a foreman for the Kentucky Department of Highways in Calhoun and was a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Calhoun. Terry also enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding his motorcycle and horses.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Donna; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Tony and Sandy Dant and Jacob Dant, all of Beech Grove; a daughter and her husband, Tera and Wayne Scott of Beech Grove; seven grandchildren, Malorie Scott, Morgan Scott, Myla Scott, Declan Scott, Amy Jo Keller, Jamen Anthony Dant and Hannah Grace Dant; his parents, L.V. and Lois Dant of Beech Grove; two brothers, Barry Dant and Greg Dant, both of Beech Grove; four sisters, Pam McCarty and Julie Clouse, both of Beech Grove, Shelia Blandford of St. Joseph and Kathy Owen of Owensboro; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Calhoun with Father Brad Whistle officiating. Burial will be in St. Benedict cemetery in Beech Grove. Friends may visit with the Dant family from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel. Prayer services for Terry Dant along with a video tribute of his life will be at 5 tonight at Muster's in Calhoun.
The Dant family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the St. Benedict cemetery Fund, 180 Kentucky 136 West, Calhoun, KY 42327. Memorial contribution envelopes will be available at Muster's in Calhoun.
Ed Turpin

HARDINSBURG - Ed Turpin, 75, of Hardinsburg died Friday, Sept. 9, 2005, at his home. He was a mechanic and a member of St. Romuald Catholic Church.
Survivors include a son, Jimmy Turpin; a stepson, Charles Miller; a stepdaughter, Christine Greenwood; two brothers, David Turpin and Leroy Turpin; and three sisters, Betty Keenan, Reba Brown and Wanda French.
Services: 10 a.m. Monday at St. Romuald Catholic Church in Hardinsburg. Burial: Pisgah cemetery in Breckinridge County. Visitation: From 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and after 8 a.m. Monday at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home in Hardinsburg.
Leslie Sweeney

Leslie Sweeney, 89, of 17155 Greenville Road, Hopkinsville, died suddenly Thursday, Sept. 8, 2005, at 5:55 p.m. in Belle Meade Nursing Home in Greenville after a short illness. He was born July 17, 1916, in Muhlenberg County, the son of Ganow Sweeney and Rosie Shutt Sweeney. He was a retired farmer and was a member of Pleasant View Missionary Baptist Church in Hopkinsville.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Margie Lucille Garrett Sweeney of Hopkinsville; one son, the Rev. Kenneth (Thelma) Sweeney of Hopkinsville; two granddaughters, Crystal (Mark) Sweeney Groves and Erica Sweeney, both of Hopkinsville; and two brothers, Gene Sweeney of Drakesboro and Darrell Sweeney of Las Vegas.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, Sept. 11, 2005, at 2 p.m. from Joines Chapel Church in Greenville by the Rev. Jerry Sweeney. Burial will be held in Joines Chapel cemetery in Greenville. Friends may call today between 5 and 8 p.m. at Gary's Funeral Home in Greenville and Sunday after 1 p.m. at the church.
Michael 'Mike' Reeder

KEY WEST, Fla. - Michael "Mike" Reeder, 64, passed away at his home Monday, Sept. 5, 2005. He was preceded in death by his parents, Erben and Sarah Reeder.
He was the loving father of Steven (Tammy), Keith (Julie), Kenneth and Sharon (Rick); and their mother, Dorothy; loving husband to his beautiful wife, Vicki, and their daughter, Lisa; brother to Janice (Jimmy) Ladd and Phillis (Marvin) Marrs; uncle to one nephew and three nieces; and best friend to Princess.
Mike was a retired police officer, and he served eight years with the U.S. Air Force. His hobbies included boating and flying. A memorial service will be held in his hometown of Paducah. Dean-Lopez Funeral Home in Key West is charge of arrangements.
Paul Edward Noffsinger Sr.

BREMEN - Paul Edward Noffsinger Sr., 56, of Bremen died Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2005, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville. He was a clerical worker for Tennessee Valley Authority, Paradise Steam Plant.
Survivors include a son, Paul Edward Noffsinger Jr.; a daughter, Kimberly Ann Noffsinger; five brothers, Bobby Noffsinger, Steve Noffsinger, Ronnie Noffsinger, Donnie Noffsinger and David Noffsinger; and five sisters, Joann Ball, Mary Latham, Delores Woszczynski, Barbara Almunddaris and Pat Pressley.
Services: 11 a.m. Monday at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. Burial: Cedar Grove cemetery in Bremen. Visitation: After 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Lillian Davis Mayfield

Lillian Davis Mayfield, 89, of Owensboro died Thursday, Sept. 8, 2005, at her home. She was born Jan. 27, 1916, to the late Harvey and Elodia Raymer Smith in Breckinridge County. She was a homemaker, a member of St. Stephen Cathedral and she enjoyed gardening, working in her yard and cooking.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis X. "Zeb" Mayfield, who died June 19, 1997; two sons, Bobby Mayfield, who died Sept. 8, 1995, and Barry Mayfield, who died May 28, 2004; and a grandson, Jonathan Clark, who died Oct. 12, 1985.
Survivors include four sons, David Mayfield and his wife, Vena, of Owensboro, Harold "Ernie" Mayfield and his wife, Pat, of Utica, Lawes Mayfield and his wife, Sharon, of Utica, Terry Mayfield and his wife, Lisa, of Cornelius, N.C.; four daughters, Sharon Logsdon and her husband, Bob, of Owensboro, Sue Wedding and her husband, Denny, of Yelvington and Mona Clark and her husband, Ronnie, of Owensboro, Jackie Mattingly of Owensboro; one daughter-in-law, Brenda Mayfield of Owensboro; one sister, Daisy Carroll of Owensboro; 22 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Stephen Cathedral conducted by Father John Vaughan. Burial will immediately follow in Resurrection cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 8:30 a.m. until time of service Monday at Glenn Funeral Home, with prayers at 6:30 p.m. Sunday. HARDINSBURG - Ralph Owen Mattingly, 73, of Hardinsburg died Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2005, at Medco Center in Hardinsburg. He was a heavy equipment operator and a member of St. Romuald Catholic Church.
Survivors include three sons, Tim Mattingly, Mike Mattingly and Doug Mattingly; two daughters, Debbie Johnson and Brenda Rooney; and two sisters, Gina Hall and Wanda Mitchell.
Services: Noon today at St. Romuald Catholic Church in Hardinsburg. Burial: Church cemetery. Visitation: From 10 to 11:45 a.m. today at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home in Hardinsburg.
Wilbur Ray Clay

Wilbur Ray Clay, 89, of 9934 U.S. 431, Utica, died Friday, Sept. 9, 2005, at Wellington Parc in Owensboro. He was born April 29, 1916, in Colin County, Texas, to the late Frank and Tinnie Clay. He retired from employment with the U.S. government as a construction representative. He was a Christian and attended the Baptist church. He was a 1950 graduate of Texas A&M and was an Air Force veteran of World War II. He was a Kentucky Colonel and an avid fisherman and hunter.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Anna Marian (Barnhill) Clay.
Services are at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 12, 2005, at James H. Davis Funeral Home Chapel in Owensboro. Burial will be in Rosehill cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation is from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday and after 10 a.m. Monday at James H. Davis Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the donor's favorite charity.
Laura Jane Lanham Green

Laura Jane Lanham Green, 41, of Owensboro died Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2005, as the result of injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident. Born Aug. 22, 1964, Ms. Green was a homemaker and member of St. William Catholic Church. She loved spending time with her children, horseback riding, collecting antiques, riding motorcycles and playing softball.
She is survived by two sons, Cody Green and Sheridan Green, both of Owensboro; two daughters, Janie Lee of Owensboro and Olivia Payne of Knottsville; her parents, Kenny and Marguerite Millay Lanham of Owensboro; three brothers, Michael Lanham of Walnut Creek, Calif., and David Lanham and Martin Lanham, both of Friendswood, Texas; a sister, Karen Ruffin of Friendswood; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, at St. William Catholic Church in Knottsville. Entombment will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Prayers will be at 7:30 this evening at the funeral home.
Louis E. Moore Jr.

NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. - Louis E. Moore Jr., 81, of North Fort Myers, formerly of Fort Thomas, died Thursday, Sept. 8, 2005, in Owensboro. He retired as owner-operator of Moore's Home Improvement Center in Fort Thomas. Mr. Moore owned and operated Weingartner Lumber Supply Co. in Newport before relocating to Fort Thomas in 1983 and changing the name to Moore's Home Improvement Center. He was a member of Fort Thomas Masonic Lodge No. 808 and loved golf and tennis. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Fiedler Moore, who died in May 2000.
Survivors include a daughter, Becky Cerio of Huntersville, N.C.; two sons, Gregory L. Moore of Owensboro and Bruce E. Moore of Fort Thomas; two sisters, June Maines of Lexington and Margaret McKenna of Fort Thomas; three brothers, Blaine Moore of Glendora, Calif., Dr. Carl L. Moore of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Dr. Jerry W. Moore of Zanesville, Ohio; and a friend, June Bridges of North Fort Myers.
Services are at 1 p.m. EDT Saturday at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens Chapel in Taylor Mill. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Taylor Mill. Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home in Fort Thomas is in charge of arrangements. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Shriners Hospital, 3229 Burnet Ave., Cincinnati, OH.
