Dewall Mills, 73, of Covington, died at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North Hospice, Covington. She was a homemaker and a member of Full Gospel Pentecostal Church, Latonia.

Survivors include sons, James Mills of Latonia; Cleveland Mills, Delbert Mills and General Mills, all of Covington; daughters, Claudia Spangler and Lillian Marcum, both of Covington; a brother, General Stewart of Alexandria; 23 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Connley Brothers Funeral Home, Latonia. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill.

Garry Allen Pelfrey Sr., 46, of Jacksonville, Fla., formerly of Grant County, died June 15 in Jacksonville. He was a retired Army veteran of the Vietname War. He was a member of Abundant Love Fellowship, Jacksonville.

Survivors include his wife, Rhonda Marksberry Pelfrey of Jacksonville; sons, Garry A. Pelfrey Jr. and Michael R. Pelfrey, both of Jacksonville; a daughter, Traci Tidwell of Virginia; brothers, Truman Pelfrey of Amelia, Ohio; Harold Pelfrey and Randall Pelfrey, both of Dry Ridge, and Terry Pelfrey of Latonia; sisters, Joyce Faulkner and Judith Wigginton, both of Williamstown, and Joan Simpson of Highland Heights; and two grandchildren.

Services were held June 19 at Hardings and Giddens Funeral Home, Jacksonville. Burial was in Gethesemane Memorial Gardens at Trinity Baptist Church, Jacksonville.

Carmella Catherine Piccirillo, of Cincinnati, formerly of Newport, died at 9:45 p.m. Wednesday at Hospice of Cincinnati. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Severin "Pete" Piccirillo; a daughter, Debbie Sheets of Cincinnati; a son, Rick Piccirillo of Cincinnati; a brother, John Miglio of Newport; and four grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Francis DeSales Church, Cincinnati. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Newport, with prayers at 9:15 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Joseph Old Cemetery, Cincinnati. Harlan "Mose" Webster, 75, of Taylor Mill, died at 5:41 p.m. Wednesday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence. He was retired from the L&N and CSX Railroad. He was a member of Covington Moose Lodge No. 1469.

Survivors include his wife, Norman Works Webster; sons, James Webster of Cincinnati, Joseph Martin of Spain, Steven Martin of Covington and Matthew Martin of St. Clairesville, Ohio; daughters, Jeanine Armont of Homestead, Fla.; Charlotte McDonald of Knoxville, Tenn.; Phyllis Coon of Tampa, Fla.; Melissa Anderson of Columbus, Ohio; Julia Brown of Chesapeake, Va.; Adelaide McManus of Ft. Thomas; Mary Veith of Florence and Christine Martin of Taylor Mill; a sister, Delores Griffis of Michigan; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Swindler and Currin Funeral Home, Latonia. Visitation will begin at noon Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to The Point, 104 Pike St., Covington, Ky. 41011.

Nettie Williamson, 69, of Covington, died Thursday at St. Luke Hosptial East, Ft. Thomas. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include daughters, Deborah Bright of Covington; Georgia Seminatore of Naples, Fla., and Theresa Stephens of Pine Knot; sons, David Williamson of Bonita, Calif.; Jeff Williamson of Covington; Michael L. Williamson of Cold Spring and Paul Williamson of Stanford, Va.; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services and burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Mother of God Cemetery, Ft. Wright. Don Catchen and Son Funeral Home, Covington, is handling arrangements.

William Wise, 62, of Covington, died at 4:11 p.m. Thursday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North, Covington.

Thelma Gregory loved church, baking for Lloyd High students

Thelma Gregory of Elsmere was a quiet, often reserved person.

But that didn't stop her from reaching out when her family or church was involved.

"She was a very quiet person, and she stayed in a lot," said her daughter, Wanda Lovelace of Union.

"But if it involved her family or the church, she was on top of it. She always attended every church function that arose."

Mrs. Gregory, 71, died Friday at St. Luke Hospital West in Florence. Her husband, John, died in 1995. She was a member of the Elsmere Baptist Church.

Mrs. Gregory was employed as a baker at the Lloyd High School cafeteria, a position she held for more than 20 years. Formerly a housewife, she took the position after her husband retired.

"She loved to talk about the new fashions the kids were wearing," Ms. Lovelace said. "She always brought home stories about what was going on with the children in the lunchroom. She loved talking with them."

Mrs. Gregory also knew how to stretch a buck, especially to provide for her children.

"She was the most thrifty person I ever saw. She could make a dollar last forever," Ms. Lovelace said.

"When we were young, we didn't have much, but she always did without to make sure we had what we needed."

Her services to the church included cooking dinner for families of the ill and participating in fund-raisers.

Other survivors include another daughter, Tammy S. Gregory of Elsmere; sons, Jerry Gregory of Indianapolis, Phillip Gregory of Florence and David Gregory of Carrollton; five sisters; three brothers; and eight grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Erlanger. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.

Elizabeth "Louise" Parsons Botkins, 73, of Owenton, died Thursday at Owen County Memorial Hospital, Owenton. She was retired from General Electric, Louisville, and was a member of South Fork Baptist Church, Owenton.

Survivors include a son, James R. Botkins of Louisville; daughters, Barbara Scherzinger and Patricia Botkins, both of Owenton; a brother, Floyd Parsons of Owenton; and a sister, Frances Hughes of Owenton.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at McDonald Funeral Home, Seminary Street, Owenton. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Owenton IOOF Cemetery.

Estill Cantrill, 91, of Newport, died Friday at St. Luke Hospital East, Ft. Thomas. He was a construction worker for John Ernst Builders, Cincinnati.

Survivors include daughters, Lillian Schleper of Ft. Thomas, June Spears of Cincinnati, Phyllis Furnish of Florence, Carol Kennedy, Eugenia Rowland and Pat Stuempel, all of Erlanger, Joan Riley of Newport, Lorene Thomas of Rockwood, Mich., and Beverly Cantrill of Lexington; 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Radel Funeral Home, Highlands Heights. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate.

Ina Bell Hale, 74, of Covington, died at 8:18 p.m. Thursday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North, Covington. She was a retired line supervisor for Kenner Toys, Cincinnati.

Survivors include her husband, Wesley Scott Hale Sr. of Covington; sons, Wesley Scott Hale Jr. of Covington, Sylvester Hale of London and Donnie Anderson of Pikeville; daughters, Margaret Freeman of Taylor Mill, Alberta Morgan of London, Durlie Alsip of Cincinnati and Wilma Lynch of Russell Springs; a brother, Ray Smith of London; 21 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Connley Brothers Funeral Home, Latonia. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Highland Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell.

Survivors include a son, Randy Hall of Covington; daughters, Karen Hamlin of Gallatin County and Paula Day of Covington; brothers, Herman Hall and Kelly Hall, both of Cincinnati; a sister, Helen Hatfield of Stephens; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

William M. "Bill" Luebbers, 64, of Bellevue, died Thursday at his residence. He was a retired civil engineer for City of Cincinnati's Department of Highways. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Bellevue, where he was a former member of the parish council and the church choir.

Survivors include a brother, Raymond J. Luebbers of North Ft. Myers, Fla.; and sisters, Betty Holthaus of Highland Heights and Mary Ann Toensmeyer of Evendale, Ohio.

Paul W. Pickett, 87, of Independence, died Wednesday at the Highlands of Ft. Thomas nursing home, Ft. Thomas. He was a retired pipefitter and a member of Local Pipefitters Union No. 392, Independence Christian Church, Independence Fire Department and Order of the Golden Rule No. 345.

His first wife, Erma Pickett, died in 1971. Survivors include his wife, Nancy McGuire Picket; a son, Gary Pickett of Independence; daughters, Virginia Salyers of Florence and Paula England of Villa Hills; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Independence. Visitation was Friday night. Burial will be in Independence Cemetery.
