Evelyn J. Koester Benson, 88, of Cincinnati, formerly of Covington, died Monday at her daughter's home in Hillsboro, Ohio. She was a retired bookkeeper with United Department Stores. Her husband, Gilbert Benson, and a daughter, Peggy Feldmann, preceded her in death.

Survivors include daughters, Gloria Fahey of Cincinnati, Janet Sowders of Hillsboro, Ohio, and Betty Burk and Carol Benson, both of Edgewood; sons, Gilbert Benson of Perry Park, Roger Benson of Covington, Richard Benson of Edgewood and Robert Benson; brothers, Stanley Koester of Florence and Clifford Koester of Independence; sisters, Dorothy Koester of Erlanger and Jane Koester of Fort Mitchell; 38 grandchildren and 69 great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Catharine Church, Cincinnati. Burial will be in Baltimore Pike Cemetery, Cincinnati.

Memorials are suggested to Right to Life, 419 Seventh St., Suite 500, Washington , D.C. 20004; Notre Dame Academy, 1699 Hilton Drive, Park Hills, Ky. 41011; or the charity of the donor's choice. Neidhard-Minges Funeral Home, Cincinnati, is handling arrangements.

Leonard C. Connor, 64, of Naples, Fla., formerly of Edgewood, died Sunday at his home. He was a retired railroad conductor.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Connor; daughters, Erin Mpalanyi of Covington and Kathleen Connor-Coates of Latonia; a son, Len Connor of Erlanger; stepdaughters, Lisa Lewis of Mason, Ohio, and Melissa Echegaray and Alexandria; five grandchildren and seven step- grandchildren.

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Mother of God Church, Covington. A reception will follow services in the church undercroft. Memorials are suggested to Holy Cross High School Scholarship Fund, 3617 Church St., Covington, Ky. 41015. Beachwood Society, Naples, Fla., is handling arrangements.

John L. Gray, 48, of Alexandria, died at 12:07 a.m. Tuesday at Lakeside Place Nursing Home, Highland Heights. He was a former employee of the Campbell County Fiscal Court.

Survivors include brothers, Allen Gray of Alexandria and William Gray of South Haven, Miss.; sisters, Dorothy Seiter of Dunedin, Fla., and Linda Uthe of California.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Alexandria Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Alexandria Cemetery.

Mary Alyce Heiert, 83, of Fort Thomas, died Saturday at St. Luke Hospital East in Fort Thomas. She was a homemaker. Her husband, Clarence Heiert, died in 1975.

Survivors include daughters, Mary Jo Boeh of Bellevue and Maureen Emory of Weaverville, N.C.; sons, John Heiert of Conway, S.C., and Ralph Heiert of Goshen, Ohio; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Church, Bellevue. Visitation will begin there at 10:30 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Spring Grove Cemetery, Cincinnati. Memorials are suggested to Holly Hill Children's Home, Summer Hill Road, California, Ky. 41007.

Doris T. Landen, 77, of Covington, died at 6:40 p.m. Monday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit in Covington. Her husband, Joseph Leonard Landen, died in 1977.

Survivors include a son, Joseph Jeffrey Landen of Edgewood; his stepmother, Florence Bradley of Cincinnati; a half-sister, Pat Mueller of Cincinnati; and a half-brother, William Bradley of Denver.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Agnes Church, Fort Wright. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Fort Mitchell. Memorials are suggested to Christian Appalachian Project, 322 Crab Orchard St., Lancaster, Ky. 40446; or National Right to Life, 419 Seventh St., Suite 500, Washington , D.C. 20004. Linnemann Funeral Home, Erlanger, is handling arrangements.

Robert Miller, 94, of Owenton, died Monday at Owenton Manor Nursing Home. He was a farmer and a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church, Owenton. His wife, Katherine Long Miller, preceded him in death.

Survivors include sons, Charlie Miller of Eminence, Tommy Miller and Danny Miller, both of Owenton; daughters, Thelma Baumgartner of Falmouth, Cora Stivers of Owenton, Pauline Cox of Shepherdsville and Anna Dews of Lusby Mill; a brother, J. D. Miller of Lexington; 31 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at McDonald Funeral Home, Seminary Street, Owenton. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery, Owenton.

Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.

Natisha Hardy Roberts, the daughter of Darrin William Hardy of Foster and Pamela Lynn Roberts of Brooksville, was stillborn Monday at Meadowview Regional Medical Center, Maysville.

Other survivors include her grandparents, Roszella Lucille Teegarden Whaley of Brooksville, Marion Allen Roberts of Flemingsburg, and Durinda Teague of Falmouth.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Bracken Memorial Cemetery, Bracken County. Moore and Parker Funeral Home, Brooksville, is handling arrangements.

Anna Schweitzer, 100, of Kenton County, died Monday at her son's home in Iowa City, Iowa.

Arrangements are pending at Swindler and Currin Funeral Home, Latonia.

Jack William Stratman, 77, of Louisville, formerly of Newport, died Monday at Baptist Hospital East in Louisville.

He was a retired instrumentation engineer with Bechtel Corp., and a member of Instrument Society of America, Electrical Engineers and Mother of Good Counsel Church in Louisville.

He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Charlotte McElfresh Stratman; a son, William J. Stratman of Louisville; a brother, Dr. E. J. Stratman of Fort Thomas; and two grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Mother of Good Counsel Church. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Ratterman's Funeral Home, Louisville.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Louisville.

Skycap Larry Sullivan, generous, loving

Larry Wayne Sullivan met several celebrities as a skycap at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. But that wasn't what he liked best about his job.

'He liked meeting people,' said his wife, Debbie Burgess Sullivan. 'They had movie stars there, but (he liked) just being nice to all the other people, too.'

Mr. Sullivan died at 11:40 p.m. Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South in Edgewood after a short battle with cancer. The Verona resident was 50.

Mr. Sullivan worked for about 25 years at the airport, checking baggage and giving directions. Before that, he served for two years in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Vietname War.

A native of Elsmere, Mr. Sullivan went to school at Lloyd Memorial High School.

He had two children with his first wife, and his second marriage in 1985 brought a step-son. He and his family had a 14-acre farm in Verona, where they lived for 13 years.

A generous man, Mr. Sullivan frequently gave money, furniture and other things to friends, family and neighbors in need.

'He was a loving husband, and a great father and a good grandpa, and he was the best man anybody ever knew,' Mrs. Sullivan said. 'He'd give anybody anything he had.'

Mr. Sullivan also was a member of First Baptist Church of Walton and the Transportation Communications Union.

Other survivors include a son, Rusty Wayne Sullivan of Crittenden; a daughter, Bobbi Jean Sullivan of Walton; a stepson, Jason Allen of Verona; his father, Leroy Sullivan of Florida; his mother and stepfather, Dorothy and Bill Kincaid of Elsmere; sisters, Sandy Kanauf of Minneapolis and Sherry Williams of Cincinnati; brothers, David Sullivan of Verona and Ronnie Sullivan of Atlanta; stepbrothers, Kenneth Kincaid of Fort Myers, Fla., Billy Kincaid of Union and Bobby Kincaid of Walton; stepsisters, Linda Henry of Edgewood, Diane Tanner of Elsmere and Connie Emerson of Verona; and two grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church of Walton. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at Stith Funeral Home, Florence. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erlanger. Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society, 7730 U. S. 42, Suite C6, Florence, Ky. 41042.

Mary Margaret Allen, 74, of Burlington, died at 10:08 p.m. Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, Covington. She was a cook with Days Inn in Richwood, Dixon's Restaurant in Walton and Goodridge Elementary School in Hebron, and a member of First Baptist Church, Walton. Her husband, Stanley Allen, died in 1980.

Survivors include sons, James N. Stone of Hebron, Donald L. Allen of Liberty, Ronald Ray Allen of Burlington and Lester Paul Allen of Oklahoma City; a brother, John Fields of Dry Ridge; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Walton Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 tonight at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Walton. Burial will be in New Bethel Cemetery, Verona. Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church, 47 S. Main St., Walton, Ky. 41094.

Alva M. Arrasmith, 91, of Union, died Tuesday at Lakeside Place Nursing Home, Highland Heights. She was a member of Big Bone Baptist Church, Boone County.

Survivors include brothers, Wayne F. Arrasmith of Union and Robert Arrasmith of Warsaw.

Services will be at noon Friday at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Florence. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in Big Bone Baptist Church Cemetery, Boone County.

Mary E. Briscoe Brandt, 84, of Greenhills, Ohio, died Wednesday at Good Samaritan Hospital, Cincinnati. She was a cafeteria worker with Greenhills School. Her husband, William F. Brandt, preceded her in death.

Survivors include sons, William F. Brandt III of Williamstown and Richard L. Brandt; a sister, Delores Clark; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Cincinnati. Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at Paul R. Young Funeral Home, Cincinnati. Burial will be in Arlington Memorial Cemetery, Cincinnati. Memorials are suggested to American Heart Association, 2936 Vernon Place, Cincinnati, Ohio 45219.

Emma Combs, 90, of Morning View, died Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, Covington. She was a homemaker and a member of Demossville Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star.

Her husband, Richard Combs; sons, Don Combs, Paul Combs and Charlie Combs; and her daughter, Hazel Townsend, all preceded her in death.

Survivors include 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Peoples Funeral Home, Butler. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Butler Cemetery.
