Henry A. Hagedorn, 71, of Elsmere, died Thursday at St. Elizabeth North Hospice Unit, Covington. He was a brewery worker for Wiedemann Brewing Co. and a member of American Legion Post No. 20.

Survivors include his wife, Hazel Riddle Hagedorn; sons, Tony Hagedorn of Richwood, Bryan Hagedorn of Union, and Eric Hagedorn of North Richland Hills, Texas ; a step-son, James Riddle of Bellevue; daughters, Jessica Mastronardo of Burlington, Victoria Haley of Ryland Heights, Kathryn Harvey of Florence, and Maria Sesher of Union; step-daughters, Portia Leftin of Ft. Mitchell, Brenda Hamilton of Erlanger, and Karen Bryant of Verona; 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services were this morning at Linnemann Funeral Home, Erlanger. Burial was in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erlanger. Memorials are suggested to Erlanger Elsmere United Ministries, 525 Graves Ave., Erlanger 41018.

Mary Elizabeth Hoffman Hedges, 79, of Florence, died at 7:03 p.m. Friday at St. Luke Hospital West in Florence. She was a former order administrator with Superior Jewelry and Novelty Co., and a member of Florence Baptist Church. Her husband, James Thompson Hedges, died in 1979.

Survivors include a daughter, Carol Caldwell of Florence; a sister, Margaret Cave of Hebron; brothers, Billy Hoffman of Midland, Mich., and Woody Hoffman of Canton, Mich.; and one grandchild.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Florence. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erlanger.

Freda Easton Henderson, 82, of Covington, died at 8:50 a.m. Saturday at St. Charles Health Care Center in Covington. She was a homemaker and a member of Oakland Baptist Church, Sparta. Her husband, Elmer Henderson, died in 1982.

Survivors include a daughter, Louise Spencer of Louisville; sons, Elmer Vernon Henderson of Covington and Harold Henderson of Morning View; a brother, Harold Easton of Warsaw; sisters, Marie Miller and Loraine Richen, both of Amelia, Ohio, Ida Lou Woodie of Batavia, Ohio; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Independence. Burial will be in Oakland Baptist Cemetery, Sparta. Memorials are suggested to the church.

Joseph William Humphrey Jr., 76, of Maysville, died at 4:45 p.m. Saturday at his home. He was a barber and a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He was a deacon at the church, and served as a former assistant treasurer and president of the church board of trustees. He was a former member of Ambassador Club and Ripley American Legion Post.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Turney Humphrey; a son, Alvin Wayne Humphrey of Maysville; a daughter, Karen Jo Wormley of Maysville; a brother, Robert Humphrey of Columbus, Ohio; a sister, Rosa Brooks of Cincinnati; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in Green Acres Cemetery, Maysville. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Hope, 1 West McDonald Parkway, Maysville 41056, or the church, 501 Forest, Maysville 41056. Palmer Funeral Home, Mays Lick, is handling arrangements.

Mae Dennler Jacobs, 83, of Erlanger, died at 1:55 p.m. Friday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. She was a retired cashier with H&S Pogue Co., Cincinnati, and a member of Lakeside Christian Church in Lakeside Park. She was a member of the church Crusader Class.

Survivors include her husband, Frank Jacobs; a daughter, Carolyn O'Connell of Park Hills; sisters, Edna Frakes and Margaret Owenburg, both of Florence; a stepdaughter, Peggy Newton of Oxford, Ohio; one grandchild, two step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Allison and Rose Funeral Home, Taylor Mill. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill. Memorials are suggested to the church, 195 Buttermilk Pike, Ft. Mitchell, 41017.

Edward Kanzlemar, 58, of Dry Ridge, died at 8 a.m. Saturday at his home. He was a manager with Procter & Gamble, Cincinnati, and County Chairman of Family Council of Grant Manor. He was a member of the United Appeal Committee of Procter & Gamble.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda Moran Kanzlemar; a daughter, Charyl Ann Kendall of Dry Ridge; a son, Edward R. Kanzlemar of Crittenden; brothers, John Kanzlemar of Titusville, Fla., Joseph Kanzlemar of Branden, Fla., and Charles Kanzlemar of Milford, Ohio; a sister, Mary Lanham of Valrico, Fla.; and seven grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Eckler-Hudson Funeral Home, Dry Ridge. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Elizabeth Malcomb, 80, of Owenton, died Saturday at Owen County Memorial Hospital in Owenton. She was a homemaker and a member of Owen County Historical Society. She was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church and a past state commander of Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary.

Survivors include sons, Carter Malcomb of Wheatley and Ray Malcomb of Owenton; a daughter, Marilyn Sue Ricketts of Frankfort; a brother, Esmond Cronemiar of Owenton; two grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today at McDonald Funeral Home, Owenton. Burial will be in Wheatley Masonic Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the church.

Euna Blackburn McCain, 85, of Newport, died Saturday at St. Luke Hospital East, Ft. Thomas. She was a homemaker and a member of Burlington United Methodist Church. Her husband, George Andrew McCain, died in 1991.

Survivors include a daughter, Almeda Doris McCain Hempfling of Hebron; a son, George W. McCain of Ft. Wright; sisters, Audrey Bowling of Rising Sun, Ind., and Nora Updike of Williamstown; brothers, Elzah Francis Blackburn of Covington, Lima Elbert Blackburn of Union and Omer Harrison Blackburn of Dry Ridge; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Hebron. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in Burlington Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the church, 27 76 Burlington Pike, Burlington 41005.

Raymond Preston Palm, 65, of Alexandria, died Friday at St Luke Hospital East, Ft. Thomas. He was a retired mechanic with B&O railroad and a member of National Association of Railroad Veteran Employees. He was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church, Cold Spring.

Survivors include his wife, Audrey Moore Palm; a daughter, Melody P. Hofmann of Columbus, Ohio; a son, James Ray Palm of Warsaw; a sister, Genevieve Knedler of Dayton, Ohio; a brother, John Palmer Jr. of Covington; and two grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Ft. Thomas. Burial will be in Alexandria Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the church building fund, 3917 Alexandria Pike, Cold Spring 41076.

Melody Sue Polston, 40, of Cincinnati, died at 12:25 p.m. Saturday at Alaska Acres Care Center in Cincinnati. She was a member of Valley Baptist Church, Cincinnati, and attended Mitchell Center in Cincinnati.

Survivors include her mother, Mildred M. Landell of Covington; a sister, Gloria Hill of Ft. Mitchell; and a brother, Mark Polston of Covington.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Connley Brothers Funeral Home, Latonia. Visitation will begin there at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell.

Ernest Smith, 52, of Latonia, died Saturday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. He was a cab driver.

Survivors include a sister, Marie Couch of Hamilton, Ohio.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Highland Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell. C&C Mortuary Service, Covington, is handling arrangements.

Anna Mae Sullivan, 87, of Butler, died Sunday at her daughter's home in Demossville.

Arrangements are pending at Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth.

Duty guided Woodrow W. Brown

Woodrow W. Brown of Ft. Mitchell was duty-oriented, whether it involved his 30-year career with Potter Shoe Co., his military service or his family.

Mr. Brown, 80, died Monday at Deaconess Hospital in Cincinnati.

He retired as president of the former Potter Shoe Co. in Cincinnati. He also enjoyed golf and bridge and was a member of Ft. Mitchell Country Club and the Covington Optimist Club.

He was a member of Heritage League of Northern Kentucky and an Army veteran of World War II.

"He was truly an optimist," said his son, Jack G. Brown of Terrace Park, Ohio. "That was part of his nature. He could see the positive side of things."

His first wife, Evelyn Brown, died in 1974. His second wife, Rebecca Best Brown, died in 1990.

Other survivors include a stepdaughter, Jane Domaschko of Edgewood; two grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Erlanger. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with burial in Highland Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell.

Dorothy Brown Brue, 88, of Latonia, died at 1:44 p.m. Monday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. She was a retired clerk with Devro Card Shop, Cincinnati, and a member of Latonia Christian Church. Her husband, George A. Brue, died in 1983.

Survivors include a daughter, Dorene Lyon of Covington; brothers, James Brown and Paul Brown, both of Ludlow; a sister, Pauline Schwartz of Ludlow; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Connley Brothers Funeral Home, Latonia. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill. Memorials are suggested to the church Book of Rememberance, 3900 Decoursey Pike, Latonia 41015.
