PATSY SIMPSON
Patsy Ann Simpson, 67, of Harrodsburg, died Friday, Sept. 12, 2008 at her home.
Born June 13, 1941 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Marshall and Edna Louise Leonard Jackson and was the wife of William T. Simpson.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Berea Christian Church.
In addition to her husband, survivors include: two daughters, Billie Ann (Jeff) Kyle of Simpsonville and Janet (Tim) Reed of Harrodsburg; two sons, Marshall (Jody) Simpson and Jimmy (Roni) Simpson, both of Harrodsburg; one sister, Linda (Ronnie) Sims of Harrodsburg; 12 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
The funeral was held Monday, Sept. 15 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Danny Sallee, Ronnie Ping and Gene Curtsinger officiating. Burial was in the Spring Hill Cemetery.
LUCILLE BRYANT
Lucille P. Bryant, 97, of Louisville, formerly of Salvisa, died Monday, Sept. 22, 2008.
Survivors include two nieces, Kathleen Ruckriegle of Jeffersontown and Nancy Goodlette of Salvisa.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Viron G. Bryant.
The funeral was held Wednesday, Sept. 24 at Foreman’s Funeral Home in Jeffersontown. Interment was in Louisville Memorial Gardens West.
Forman’s Funeral Home in Louisville was in charge of the arrangements.
REGGIE CLARK
Darroll Gene “Reggie” Clark, 57, of Harrodsburg, died Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008 at his home.
Born Jan. 7, 1951 in Corning, NY, he was the son of Reginald William Clark and the Late Beulah Iona Stiles Clark and was the husband of Diane Vest Clark.
He was a retired electrician.
In addition to his wife and father, survivors include: one daughter, Stephanie (Lawrence) Taylor; two sons, Billy (Betty Ann) Clark and Shane Clark; one brother, Terry Lee Clark and five grandchildren.
The funeral was held Tuesday, Sept. 23 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Bobby Logue officiating. Burial was in the Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were David Murphy, Eddie Long, Bernie McGlone, J. L. Devine, Bubby Isham and David Ballard.
Honorary pallbearers were Lonnie Naylor, Kenny Baker, Gary Prather, Lynn Logue, Lee Woley, Bill Baughman, Mickey Gililland and Leon Leonard.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Mercer County Relay for Life.
GLENN FALLIS
Glenn K. Fallis, 69, of Harrodsburg, died Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born Feb. 6, 1939 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of the late Thomas and Ruth Kincaid Fallis and was the husband of Judy Miller Fallis.
He was a retired employee of Square D Company and a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: two daughters, Belinda Helton of Salvisa and Kellie Flora Yeager of Burgin; two sons, Duane (Susan) Flora of Salvisa and Steve Flora of Danville; one sister, Ruth Evelyn (Shirley) Southworth of Frankfort; three brothers, Ray Donald Fallis and Norman (Ruth) Fallis, both of Harrodsburg and Charles (Betty) Fallis of Roanoke, VA and six grandchildren.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Abe and Jack Fallis, and a sister, Dixie Cole.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 25 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Jason Clark officiating. Burial will be in the Ebenezer Cemetery
in Salvisa.
Pallbearers are Donnie, Mark, Morris, and Tommy Fallis, Shawn Flora and Chris Southworth.
Honorary pallbearers are Jamie Yeager and Adam Flora.
Visitation Wednesday, Sept. 24 from 5-8 p.m. and Thursday prior to Service at Ransdell Funeral Chapel.
THOMAS FREEMAN
Thomas Wesley Freeman, 90, died Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008, at his residence.
Born March 26, 1918 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Ruth Dean and Jasper Tate Freeman, Sr. and was the husband of Doris McRay Freeman.
He was a commercial and residential land developer in Danville and Lexington, and a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: three daughters, Marlene (Doug) Bivins of Boynton Beach, FL, Louise (Danny) Pollock of Wentzville, MI and Loraine Schomp of Rotonda West, FL; five sisters, Flossie Cinnamon, Elizabeth Ellis and Frances Stocker, all of Harrodsburg and Nellie (Charles) of Nicholasville and Betty (Glendon) Demaree of Lawrenceburg; one brother, Jasper “Jack” T. (Carol) Freeman, Jr. of Harrodsburg; six grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond and James Freeman.
The funeral was held Friday, Sept. 19, 2008 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Rodney W. Sallee, Douglas C. Bivins and James W. Freeman officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Scott Bivins, Doug Bivins, Jr., Steve Williams, Wayne Hart, Rick Lewis, Lee Thomas Bivins and Jeffery Bivins.
Honorary pallbearers were Marshall Freeman, Floyd Van Cook, Bruce Brown, Eddie Feistritzer, Jim Gaffney, Mike Ellis, Donald Thomas Stocker, Skipper Stocker, Dean Anness, Gary Anness, James Freeman, Jr., Keith Freeman, Chris Freeman, Mark Freeman and Derrick Demaree.

RAYMOND MIXON
Raymond Mixon, 79, of Paint Lick, died Sept. 17, 2008 at his home.
Born Sept. 1, 1929 in Georgia, he was the son of the late Steve and Leah Truit and husband of Milady Mixon.
He was retired from Shell Oil as a procurement administrator and businessman and a member of the Harrodsburg Church of God. He was also a veteran of the Korean conflict.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: one son, Athuro Velazquez; two daughters, Deborah Reeves and Vilma Velazquez; one brother, Roy Mixon; three sisters, Edna Parks, Sadie Rauleson and Ruby Saners; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Mixon, a daughter, Donna Mixon, three brothers, Jim, Gene and Delmus Mixon and a sister, Pauline Mixon.
The funeral was held Sunday, Sept. 21 at Spurlin Funeral Home with Pastor Glenn Daugherty officiatioing. Burial was in Camp Nelson National Cemetery.
Pallbearers were David Daugherty, Christian Daugherty, John Henderson, Nathan Dyer, Kevin Bastin, Ken Bastin and Ricky Gouzalez.
Honorary pallbearer was Hal Bastin.
Spurlin Funeral Home of Lancaster was in charge of the arrangements.
ADAM MOORE
Adam Dale Moore, 17, of Harrodsburg, died Thursday, Sept. 18, 2008 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.
Born May 2, 1991 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of Theresa Sparks of Harrodsburg and Harvey and Patricia Moore of Washington County.
He was a student at Mercer County Senior High School.
In addition to his parents and step mother, survivors include: one sister, Mary Sparks of Harrodsburg; one brother, Earl Moore of Harrodsburg; maternal grandfather, Earl Sparks of Harrodsburg; paternal grandparents, Alice Boswell and Harvie Moore Sr. of Elliott County; great grandmother, Gertie Peters of Elliott County; four uncles, Robert (Kathy) Sparks, Jerry (Kecia) Sparks, Darren Moore and Nicholas Moore; three Aunts, Eva Sparks, Tammy Hammock and Melissa Randolph and a special friend, Mike Cornish.
The funeral was held Sunday, Sept. 21 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Jamie Chesser officiating. Burial was in the Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Mike Cornish, Earl Moore, Ronnie Devine, John Randolph, Darren Moore, and Michael Louallen.
Honorary pallbearers were Steven, Ryan, and Terry Turner, and Mike and Timmy Sparks.
RONALD ROLLER
Ronald Kenneth Roller, 55, of Danville, died Friday, Sept. 19, 2008, at Baptist Hospital Northeast in LaGrange.
Born March 2, 1953, in Danville, he was the son of Mary Josephine Clarkson Roller of Danville and the late Herbert Kenneth Roller.
He was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, where he was a former altar boy and where he once attended school. He was a member of the Boy Scout Troop 119. He was a 1971 Graduate of Danville High School, where he was on the wrestling team. He was a former employee of Corning Glass in Harrodsburg, R.R. Donnelly and Sons, and Norfolk Southern Railroad.
There are no other survivors in addition to his mother.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, J. C. and Mary Burka Clarkson and his paternal grandparents, Marion and Eva King Roller.
The funeral was held Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2008, at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home with Father Patrick Fitzsimons officiating. Burial was in Taylor-Clarkson Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Donald Westerfield, Hugh Lynch, James Hines, Karl Luttrell, Billie Joe Clarkson, Morrison Bottom, James Kehoe, and Richard Clarkson.
NANNIE ROSS
Nannie Beatrice Cole Ross, 72, of Lee County, died Friday, Sept. 19, 2008.
Born Dec. 23, 1935, in Lee County, she was the daughter of the late Troy Sid and Mary Abney Cole and the wife of Edward Lee Ross of Lee County.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Sandfield Pentacostal Holiness Church.
In addition to her husband, survivors include: three daughters, Sharon (Jack) Rawlins of Irvine and Shirley (George) Ratliff and Alene (Darrell) Gentry, both of Beattyville; two sons, Terry (Toni) Ross of Richmond and Jerry (Vicki) Ross of Lee County; two sisters, Clara Stamper and Fredia Flinchum, both of Lee County; two brothers, Luther and Guess Cole, both of Ohio; 11 grandchildren including CJ Ratliff of Harrodsburg and 14 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mattie Townsend and Mossie Jane Cole and five brothers, Marshall Lee, Clyde, James, John and the Rev. Hobert Cole.
The funeral was held Monday, Sept. 22, 2008 at the Warren F. Tolar Funeral Home Chapel in Irvine with Bro. Jerry Rose officiating. Burial was in the Cobb Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were her nephews.
Honorary pallbearers were members of the Sandfield Pentacostal Holiness Church.

GERALD STEPHENS
Gerald H. Stephens, 76, of Mount Sterling died Tuesday September 16, 2008 at his home.
Born in Glasgow, he was a retired truck driver, a former member of the Teamsters Union, a member of the Masonic Lodge and a former member of Montgomery County Senior Citizens. He was a member of Spring Street Baptist Church and the widower of Leda Clay Wingate Stephens.
Survivors include: a son, Jerry (Patsy) Stephens of Morehead; one daughter, Sheila F. (Jerry) Bugg of Harrodsburg; his fiancé, Charlene Patton of Mount Sterling; a brother, Raymond Stephens of Jeffersonville; a sister, Betty Sorrell of Mount Sterling; three grandchildren, Jerry Gayler (Julie) Stephens of Morehead, Earl Gerome Stephens of Louisville and Bobbie Sue (Rob) Campbell of London; and two great-grandchildren, Macey Nichole Campbell and Layden Thomas Stephens.
Services were held Saturday, September 20, at the Taul Funeral Home by Rev. John Runyon. Burial was in Machpelah Cemetery.
Visitation is after 5 p.m. today and 5-9 p.m. Friday with Masonic rites at 7 p.m. Friday.
EUDORA SUTHERLAND
Eudora Dean Sutherland, 88, died Friday, Sept. 19, 2008 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.
Born Oct. 21, 1919 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Dora Hurst Dean and was the wife of Harold Sutherland.
She was a member of the Harrodsburg Church of Christ and was the co-owner of Sutherland’s Pharmacy.
In addition to her husband, survivors include: three daughters, Trudy Sutherland of Harrodsburg, Anne (Tom) Boggs of Charleston, SC and Kathy (Charlie) White of Harrodsburg; one son, Terry (Ann Hunter) Sutherland of Harrodsburg; nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, two step great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, John Sparrow.
The funeral was held Monday, Sept. 22, 2008 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Mike Estes officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Tracey Simpson, Chase and Curry Haven, Christian and Meagan Curry, Joe Boggs and Julie Semrau.
Honorary pallbearers were Ron Leasure, Buddy Shirley, Ron Ashford, Bob Bishop, Robert Wise, Dennis Ballard, Chester Gabhart, William Curry, Genie Sims, Jimmy Dean, Jack Freeman, Donnie Pinkston, James Norton, Bruce Parrot, Buddy Steele, Duane Hall, Tim Shirley, Tom Shirley, Stanley Tatum, and Kenny Stephens.
