Armand B. Freeman

FRANKLIN - Services for Armand Bernard Freeman, 91, will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ibert's Chapel with the Rev. Landry officiating. Interment will be in Perpetual Park cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at Ibert's, which will reopen Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of services.

A native of Houma and a lifelong resident of Franklin, Mr. Freeman died at 4:15 a.m. Monday, Oct. 23, 2000, at Franklin Foundation Hospital.

Mr. Freeman was a long time and faithful employee of the city of Franklin for more than 40 years. He will always be remembered for being the first person ever to operate the street sweeper and for keeping the city extra clean.

He is survived by his son, Hillary B. Freeman, and his faithful daughter-in-law, Alice Freyou Freeman, of Franklin; his daughter, Eloise Freeman of Franklin; two sisters, Helen Smith and Miriam Mabry; two grandchildren, Conway P. and Brian P. Freeman; and a faithful friend, Raphael Robicheaux.

Mr. Freeman was preceded in death by his wife, Cecile Eve Doucet Freeman; his daughter, Carolyn Ann Freeman; his father, Henry Ernest Freeman Sr.; his mother, Felecie Chauvin Freeman; three brothers, Henry Ernest Freeman Jr., Paul Freeman and Peter Chauvin; five sisters, Grace Naquin, Inez Ledet, Mae Theriot, Leonise Freeman and Theresa Mabry; and his grandson, Perry Bernard Freeman.

Ibert's Mortuary Inc. of Franklin is in charge of arrangements.

Wallace "Boonie" Howard

FRANKLIN - Memorial services for Wallace "Boonie" Howard, 81, will be held at 2:15 p.m. today at Franklin Healthcare Center with the Rev. Alfred Jones Sr. officiating.

A native of Maryland Community and a resident of Franklin, Mr. Howard died at 5:20 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, 2000, at Franklin Nursing Home following a brief illness.

He is survived by his parents, Saul and Lizzie Bowles Howard of Maryland Community; and four generations of nieces and nephews, as well as family and friends.

Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of arrangements.

Michael J. Morris

Loving father, grandfather

LYDIA - Services for Michael J. Morris, 55, will begin at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Nicholas Catholic Church with the Rev. Richard Fabre officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park cemetery in New Iberia.

Visitation will be until 10 p.m. today with a 7:30 p.m. rosary at David Funeral Home North, Trotter Street, which will reopen Wednesday from 8 a.m. until the time of services.

A native of Weeks Island and a resident of Avery Island, Mr. Morris died at 9 a.m. Monday, Oct. 23, 2000, at Iberia Medical Center in New Iberia.

Mr. Morris was a sales supervisor for the Tabasco Co. for 10 years.

He is survived by his wife, Carmen Hugonin Morris of Avery Island; his parents, Harold J. and Bernadette Broussard Morris of Lydia; his son, Christopher M. Morris of Jeanerette; two daughters, Michelle M. Morris of New Iberia, and Anne M. Thibodeaux of Lydia; two grandsons, Brett M. and Travis A. Thibodeaux, both of Lydia; his daughter-in-law, Casey L. Morris of Jeanerette; his son-in-law, Rusty A. Thibodeaux of Lydia; and his sister, Maureen M. Rogers of Lydia.

Mr. Morris was preceded in death by his sister, Carole A. Morris.

Pallbearers will be Preston Crochet, Charles Falterman, Christopher and Ronald Morris, Rusty Rogers and Rusty Thibodeaux.

Honorary pallbearers will be Cecil Himel Jr., Cecil Himel Sr., Donald Hugonin, Lee Odom, Brett and Travis Thibodeaux, Brett Babineaux, Ronnie Breaux and Winston Broussard.

Charles Gonzales Sr.

Loving husband and father

Services for Charles Joseph "Charlie" Gonzales Sr., 87, will begin at 2 p.m. today at St. Peter's Catholic Church with the Rev. Jude Halphen officiating. Entombment will be in the Holy Family Mausoleum with military graveside rites conducted by the VFW Post 1982.

Visitation will be until the time of services today at David Funeral Home North, Trotter Street.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Gonzales died at 8:35 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 29, 2000, at Iberia Medical Center.

Mr. Gonzales was employed with Iberia Sugar Co-op as a supervisor for 57 years and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Utha LeBlanc Gonzales of New Iberia; four sons, Curtis Gonzales of Church Point, Stuart Gonzales of Baton Rouge, Steve N. Gonzales of Metairie, and Charles J. Gonzales Jr. of Verona, Wis.; and five grandchildren, Casey, Kyle and Nicole Gonzales, all of Church Point, and Sean M. and Shannon Gonzales, both of Metairie.

Mr. Gonzales was preceded in death by his parents, John R. and Anita Viator Gonzales; three brothers, Forrest, John P. and Murphy Gonzales; and his sister, Gertrude G. Ozenne.

Pallbearers will be Casey, Curtis, Stuart, Sean, Steve and Charles Gonzales Jr.

Flossie O. Alpha

FRANKLIN - Services for Flossie "Flop" Overlay Alpha, 93, will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Ibert's Mortuary.

Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. today at Ibert's, which will reopen Wednesday from 8 a.m. until the time of services.

A resident of Franklin, Mrs. Alpha died at 11:48 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 29, 2000.

Norma V. Pesson

LAKE CHARLES - Services for Norma Marie Vallot Pesson, 72, will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church with Monsignor Irving DeBlanc officiating. Interment will be in Consolata cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon until 10 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at Johnson Funeral Home, which will reopen Tuesday from 8 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.

A native of Cade and a resident of Lake Charles for the past 52 years, Mrs. Pesson died at 11:55 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 29, 2000, at a Lake Charles hospital.

Mrs. Pesson was a graduate of St. Martinville High School and was part owner of Pesson Plumbing Co. and vice president of Donna's Lingerie and Swimwear. She was one of the founding members of Our Lady of Queen of Heaven Parish, where she was a member of the Adoration Chapel Ministry. She was a member of the Angels of Crossroad's Bookstore, the Ladies Auxiliary of St. Patrick Hospital and the Calcasieu Council on Aging, where she served as the organization's 1998 Mardi Gras Queen. Mrs. Pesson also was a charter member and past president of Parents without Partners.

She is survived by three sons, Roland "Buddy" Pesson Jr. of Lake Charles, Steve Pesson of Sulphur, and Rodney Pesson of Houston; three daughters, Brenda Wilkinson and Donna Mier, both of Lake Charles, and Kitty Decareaux of Lafayette; her brother, Clifford Vallot of North Carolina; her sister, Claudette Bonin of St. Martinville; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Lanny J. Hebert

ST. MARTINVILLE - Services for Lanny Joseph Hebert, 21, will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church. Interment will be in St. Michael cemetery.

Visitation began Sunday and will continue until the time of services Tuesday with a 7:30 p.m. rosary today at Pellerin Funeral Home.

A resident of St. Martinville, Mr. Hebert died Thursday, Oct. 26, 2000.

He is survived by his parents, Louis Hebert Sr. and JoAnn Bergeron Hebert of St. Martinville; his brother, Louis Hebert Jr. of St. Martinville; and two sisters, Angella Marie Hebert of Montreal, Canada, and Anna Marie Hebert of Cameron.

Mr. Hebert was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Erenest Hebert Sr. and Marie Hebert; his maternal grandparents, Lanny and Della Bergeron; and his sister, Tina Marie Hebert.

Eris Seaux

Loving husband and father

Services for Eris Seaux, 91, will begin at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, with the Rev. Fred Reynolds S.J. officiating. Interment will be in Calvary cemetery in Lafayette.

Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. rosary, at David Funeral Home-New Iberia North on Trotter Street, which will reopen at 10 a.m. Monday until the time of services.

A native of Vermilion Parish and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Seaux died at 12:40 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2000 at Dauterive Hospital.

He made his living as a farmer.

Mr. Seaux is survived by his wife, Alta Hollier Seaux of New Iberia; two daughters, Elena S. Kern and her husband Wesley of Spring, Texas, and Linda Sue Seaux of New Iberia; one son, Ores P. Seaux and his wife Luci of Sunset; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elise and Lena Monet Seaux; a daughter, Joyce S. Sagrera; two brothers, Elie and Willie Seaux; a sister, Lelia Trahan, and a step-brother, Linus Gaspard.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Balutansky, Chad Menard, Chad Pierce, Greg Sagrera, Kenneth Seaux and Troy Seaux.

Barbara L. Romero

Loving mother, grandmother

Services for Mrs. Lucius A. Romero, 60, the former Barbara Landry, will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with the Rev. Mark Derise officiating. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Visitation will be until 10 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at David Funeral Home North, Trotter Street, which will reopen Friday from 8 a.m. until the time of services.

A native of Lafayette and a resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Romero died at 10 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2000, at University Hospital in New Orleans.

Mrs. Romero was a homemaker.

She is survived by three sons, Carl J. Romero and his wife, Leilani, of Lydia, Ken A. Romero and his fiancee, Tara, of New Iberia, and Ricky J. Romero and his fiancee, Connie, of Cade; her daughter, Tina M. Romero and her husband, Scotty, of New Iberia; five brothers, Jerry Derouen of Baldwin, Brian Landry of Hawaii, Lou Landry of New Iberia, Mark Landry of Broussard and Jeffery Landry Jr. of Franklin; seven sisters, Jenell Breaux, Gloria Cormier and Jenny Forman, all of Lafayette, Gladys Broussard, Nell Conrad and Mary Ann Derouen, all of New Iberia, and Myrtle "Sis" Vincent of Maurice; and eight grandchildren, Joseph F. Calandrelli, Haley and Taylor Dayton, Rena Mire and Bryanna, Maile and Carl J. Romero Jr., all of New Iberia, and Scotty Mire Jr. of Coteau.

Mrs. Romero was preceded in death by her husband, Lucius A. Romero; her father, Jeffery Landry; her mother, Rena Guidry Derouen; two daughters, Bernice and Bertha Romero; her brother, Harold Landry; and her stepfather, Hollis "Pickle" Derouen.

Pallbearers will be Chris and Johnny Broussard, Joseph Calandrelli, Ricky Derouen, Scotty Mire Sr. and Ken, Ricky and Carl Romero Sr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Marshall Derouen and Maile and Carl Romero Jr.

Services are pending for Charles Raymond LeBlanc, 79, who died at 9:43 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2000, at his residence.

A native of New Iberia and a resident of St. Martinville, infant Ernest died at 2:26 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2000, at Iberia Medical Center.

Dorothy P. Ledet

Loving mother, grandmother

Services for Dorothy Ledet, 88, the former Dorothy Provost, will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Edward Catholic Church with the Rev. Sebastian Myladiyil officiating. Interment will be in the Holy Family cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at Journet and Bolden Funeral Home, which will reopen Friday at 7:30 a.m.

A native of Baldwin and a resident of New Iberia for many years, Mrs. Ledet died at 3:38 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, 2000, at Iberia Medical Center following a lengthy illness.

She is survived by two sons, Ernest Ledet of New Iberia and Eugene Ledet Jr. of Houston; four daughters, Viola Washington of Las Vegas, Nev., Marion Broussard and Revelon Ledet, both of New Iberia, and Beverly Francis of Beaumont, Texas; four sisters, Leona Bonhomme of Cade, Mayola Washington of St. Martinville, Amy Kirby of Houston and Gloria Mitchell of Los Angeles; 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Ledet was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Ledet Sr.; her parents, Robert and Viola Edgariey Provost; two brothers, Lemuel and Robert Provost Jr.; and her sister, Florence Mitchell.

Pallbearers will be family members and friends.

Journet and Bolden Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

Florence Guidry

BREAUX BRIDGE - Services for Florence Guidry, 75, will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Bernard Catholic Church. Interment will be in St. Bernard cemetery No. 2.

Visitation will be Friday from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. at Pellerin Funeral Home, which will reopen Saturday from 8 a.m. until the time of services.

A resident of Lafayette, Ms. Guidry died Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2000, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.

She is survived by two daughters, Jeanell Dupuis Dronet of Lafayette, and Dynell Dupuis Labiche of New Iberia; her brother, Delaure Guidry of St. Martinville; two sisters, Mable Taylor of Nederland, Texas, and Nolda Latiolais of Breaux Bridge; seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Ms. Guidry was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Kenny Ann Thibodeaux Guidry; three brothers, Cyrus, Davis and Percy Guidry; and her sister, Euphemie Guidry.
