Larry Joseph Jackson, a certified nursing assistant at West Jefferson Medical Center, died Wednesday of cancer at West Jefferson Medical Center. He was 53. Mr. Jackson was born in New Orleans and lived in Marrero for the past 10 years. He graduated from L.B. Landry High School. He was an elder at Greater Zion Field Full Gospel Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Ida Jones Jackson; three daughters, Tiffany and Javada Goodwin and Renata Lyons; a stepson, Charles Wilson Cheatam; a stepdaughter, Demetri Cheatam; his father, Clarence Williams; his mother, Yvonne Sullen Williams; a brother, Ronald Williams; two sisters, Sharon Richardson and Kim W. Broadway; his grandmother, Julia Fields; and four grandchildren. A wake is Monday at 7:30 p.m. at Greater Zion Field Full Gospel Baptist Church, 636 11th St., Westwego. Dismissal is Tuesday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park. Davis Mortuary is handling arrangements.

Julia Esther Sellers, an infant, died March 14 of complications at birth at Woman's Hospital in Baton Rouge.
Survivors include her mother, Dr. Denise Adair Sellers; her father, Andrew Parr Sellers; her grandmothers, Jeanie Maihes Sellers of Mandeville and Judy Judice Powers of Baton Rouge; and her grandfathers, Andrew Parr Sellers Sr. of Mandeville and John Dale Powers Sr. of Baton Rouge.
A private graveside service was held Monday in Greenoaks Memorial Park in Baton Rouge.

SANCHEZ, THERESA RITA PITTARI

Theresa Rita Pittari Sanchez, a retired seamstress, died Thursday of cardiac arrest after breast cancer surgery at Memorial Medical Center. She was 88. Mrs. Sanchez was born in New Orleans and lived in St. Tammany Parish for the past two years. Survivors include a daughter, Camille Sanchez Philips; a stepson, Ward Sanchez; a brother, Bartolo George Pittari of New Orleans; her twin sister, Catherine Pittari Landry of New Orleans; two stepgrandchildren; and three stepgreat-grandchildren. A Mass will be said Monday at noon at Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal St. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Burial is in Greenwood cemetery.
WINCHESTER, LOIS COURSEAULT

Lois Courseault Winchester, a piano teacher and homemaker, died Thursday of undetermined causes at her home. She was 64. Mrs. Winchester was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. She graduated from Joseph S. Clark High School and Xavier University. She was founder of Magic Keys Piano Studio and was a former adjunct professor at Delgado Community College. She was also the former district director of the National Federation of Music Clubs, former president of Metropolitan Piano Teachers Association, former chairwoman of the St. Mary's Academy Debutante Ball, secretary of Academy Park Homeowners Association and former secretary of St. Mary's Academy PTA. Survivors include her husband, Lawrence Trevor Winchester Jr.; three sons, Lawrence Richard III, Eric David and Todd Gerard Winchester; two daughters, Yvette Cecilia and Susan Marie Winchester; and two grandchildren. A Mass will be said Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6828 Chef Menteur Highway. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Burial will be in St. Louis cemetery No. 3. Charbonnet-Labat Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Dr. Jean J. Black, a retired veterinarian, died Friday at Meadowcrest Hospital. He was 87. Dr. Black was born in New York City and lived in New Orleans for many years. He was a member of the Louisiana Association of Veterinarians and the City Park Golf Club and was a teacher for the Uptown Shepherd's Center. Survivors include his wife, A. Teresa Black; two stepsons, Stephen and Mark Rihner; three daughters, Jan Black Rink, Wendy Black and Jill Black Mistretta; a brother, Leo Black; a sister, Harriett Bricker; and six grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Professional Funeral Services, 1620 Elysian Fields Ave. Burial will be private.

Cheryl Ann Parker, an employee of the state of Louisiana, died March 1 of a stroke at Tulane Medical Center. She was 51. Ms. Parker was born in Donaldsonville and lived in New Orleans for many years. She attended Donaldsonville High School. She was a member of Choir No. 1, Pastor Aid and Support, and the Kitchen Committee as well as a secretary of the Sunday school and a youth counselor at Pilgrim Progress Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include her companion, Brady Muhomad; two sons, Levar and Trevor Parker; her father, Lawrence Parker Sr.; her mother, Henrietta Parker; her stepmother, Yvonne Parker; six brothers, Lawrence Jr., Kenneth, Everett, Kevin and Demaris Parker and Avis Gaines; three sisters, Donna Parker, Carzette P. Porche and Yvette Parker; and two grandchildren. A funeral will be held today at 8 p.m. at Pilgrim Progress Missionary Baptist Church, 3600 Loyola Ave. Dismissal will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Greater Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church, 926 St. Patrick St., Donaldsonville. James B. McKenzie Jr., a sailor and entrepreneur, died Tuesday of heart failure at his home. He was 68. Mr. McKenzie was born in New Orleans and lived in Montana for 14 years and in Hawaii for 14 years before returning to New Orleans. Survivors include his wife, Sandra Doyle McKenzie; a son, James B. McKenzie III of Coden, Ala.; five daughters, Jon Nan McKenzie Schenk and Suzanne McKenzie, both of Portland, Ore., Celeste McKenzie Horton of Billings, Mont., Linda McKenzie Smithson of Nashville, Tenn., and Sandra Knapp of Mobile, Ala.; a brother, Gaylord Wilson of Biloxi, Miss.; a sister, Faith Peperone of Kenner; and 13 grandchildren. A funeral will be held today at 11 a.m. at Bultman Funeral Home, 3338 St. Charles Ave. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in Metairie cemetery.

Katherine Stewart Livingston, a homemaker, died Feb. 25 at Brookmont Health Care Center in Effort, Pa. She was 88. Mrs. Livingston was born in San Francisco, was raised in New Orleans, lived in Memphis for many years and lived in Effort for the past five years. She attended Normal Teachers College in Memphis. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church. Survivors include a son, Lee Haltorn Livingston of Merritt Island, Fla.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Burial will be in the St. John's Episcopal Church cemetery in Memphis. The Kresge Funeral Home in Brodheadsville, Pa. is in charge of arrangements.

Marie Forte Hahn, a homemaker, died Tuesday at her home.
She was 89.
Mrs. Hahn was born in Collinsville, Ill., and lived in Madisonville for the past 30 years.
A Mass will be said today at 11 a.m. at St. Anselm Catholic Church, 306 St. Mary St., Madisonville.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. at the church.
Burial will be in St. Peter & Paul cemetery.

Wilfred Carter, a janitor at Hibernia National Bank in Thibodaux for 24 years, died Sunday of a heart attack at Thibodaux Regional Medical Center. He was 56. Mr. Carter was born in Napoleonville and lived in Labadieville for the past 25 years. Survivors include his wife, Mildred Lang Carter; his mother, Irma Holmes Carter of Napoleonville; five brothers, Earl Jr., Herman, Daneial and Louis Carter, all of Napoleonville, and Lloyd Carter of New Orleans; and three sisters, Dorothy Jupiter of New Orleans, Theanell Ausama and Paulette Jupiter of Napoleonville. A funeral will be held today at 8 p.m. at Bright Morning Star Baptist Church, 402 Assumption Ave., Napoleonville. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Dismissal will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the church. Curtis Burise Jr., a construction worker, died Monday in the 500 block of South Dorgenois Street of a gunshot wound. He was 35. Mr. Burise was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. He attended John McDonogh High School. Survivors include his companion, Shanell Payton; four sons, Donald Burise, Samuel Walker, Curtis Tassin and Curtis Neville; five daughters, Tenara and Phalithia Patin and Breaira, Kiana and Curtnitra Neville; his father, Curtis Burise Sr.; his mother, Sally Burise; two brothers, Burnell Woods of Paradis and Corey Burise; and two sisters, Lisa Burise Davis and Stephanie Burise Broussard.
