Matthew David Huy and Michael Joseph Huy, newborn twins, died Monday from complications from premature birth at Slidell Memorial Hospital. Survivors include their father, Joey Huy; their mother, Jessica Jennings; grandparents Eddie Jennings, Malinda Weaver Leitz, Mario Huy Jr. and Toni Huy Farmer; a great-grandfather, Mario Huy Sr.; and a great-grandmother, Geraldine Nata Jennings. A graveside service will be held today at 2:45 p.m. at St. Bernard Memorial Gardens. St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
GREEN, GLORIA LUCILLE ‘DODIE' ‘GLO' OGE

Gloria Lucille "Dodie" "Glo" Oge Green, a retired employee of Schwegmann's Bros. Supermarket, died Tuesday of complications from Alzheimer's disease. She was 79. Mrs. Green was born in New Orleans and lived in St. Bernard Parish for the past 20 years. She was a member of The Red Birds and The Socialite Club. Survivors include two sons, Warren L. Green Jr. of Kenner and Wayne S. Green of Dallas; four daughters, Diane K. Green of Baton Rouge, Darlene G. Vicknair of Kenner, Donna G. Seibert of Violet and Dymphna G. "Dee" Donaldson of Baton Rouge; 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A Mass will be said Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Bernard Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette. Visitation will be today from 6 to 10 p.m. and Saturday beginning at 9 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
GENOVESE, VITONE ‘VITO'

Vitone "Vito" Genovese, a retired substance abuse counselor and marketing director with Ten Broeck Hospital in Louisville, Ky., died May 18, apparently of congestive heart failure in his car in Louisville. He was 51. Mr. Genovese was born in New York City, lived in New Orleans and Louisville before moving to River Ridge. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was formerly a marketing director with St. Claude Medical Center. He was a member of Toastmasters International, National Association of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Counselors, Shelby County Drug and Alcohol Advisory Council, Adolescent Treatment Consortium, Kentucky Association of Addiction Professionals, NO/AIDS Task Force of New Orleans, Desire Community Rehabilitation Project and the board of directors of New Orleans Community Housing. He was an advocate for the Recovering Addiction Community and a volunteer at Abstract Halfway House in New Orleans. Survivors include his wife, Kimberly Genovese of Louisville; his daughter, Kylie Genovese of Louisville; a brother, Dean Gioletti of South Africa; and two sisters, Lori Gioletti of New York and Susan Gioletti of Louisville. A memorial service will be held today at 2 p.m. at Hall-Taylor Funeral Home in Shelbyville, Ky. Visitation will be after the service.

Percy Leon Gaines, a brick mason, died Monday of a brain disease at Kenner Regional Hospital. He was 59. Mr. Gaines was born in Woodville, Miss., and lived in Kenner for the past 21 years. He was a member of St. Michael Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Anna Williams Gaines; a daughter, Antoinette Gaines; four brothers, Larry, Gilbert and James Gaines and John Thomas; and two sisters, Sylvia Miller and Sandra Singleton. A funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Mount Olive Baptist Church, Donegal Road, Woodville. Burial will be in Mount Olive cemetery, Woodville. Joyce M. Dawson, a homemaker, died May 15 of undetermined causes at Slidell Memorial Hospital. She was 61. Mrs. Dawson was born in New Orleans and was a lifelong resident of Sidell. She was a parishioner of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. Survivors include two sons, Joe Dawson Jr. and Anthony Dawson; four daughters, Stacie Dawson, Hope Dawson, Monica Dawson and LaWanda Dawson; her mother, Doris Hill; four brothers, Joseph Hill Jr., Ronald Hill Sr., Wesley Hill and Jerry Hill; four sisters, Lynette Burkett, Felicie Gray, Charlene Pichon and Julie Frowner; and 16 grandchildren. A funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Doyle Funeral Home, 2430 Fourth St., Slidell. Burial will be in Slidell Memorial cemetery on Danny Street.

Willie James Davis III died Sunday at Charity Hospital of a gunshot wound. He was 31. Mr. Davis was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. Survivors include a son, Cade Davis; his father, Willie J. Davis Jr.; his mother, Irma Blackmon; two brothers, Calvin McManus III and Willie June Davis; a sister, Ticondria McManus; and a grandmother, Lmae Blackmon. A private service will be held. Germaine Excell Chatman Sr. died Tuesday of undetermined causes at Lakeview Regional Medical Center. He was 26. Mr. Chatman was a lifelong resident of Covington. Survivors include two sons, Tremaine and Germaine Chatman Jr.; a daughter, Mikeria Martin of Mandeville; his father, Frank James of Uneedus; his mother, Alice Chatman; two sisters, Denise and Keica Chatman; a brother, Derrick Chatman; and his grandmother, Laura Mae Brumfield. Izora Luvenia Singleton Carter, a homemaker, died May 17 at St. Charles General Hospital. She was 96. Mrs. Carter was born in Hammond and lived in New Orleans. Survivors include two sons, Sandy Carter of Los Angeles and Estavan Carter Sr.; five daughters, Marguerite Carter Davis of Los Angeles, Mary Carter Latigue of Ville Platte, Sophie Mae Carter Foster, Julia Carter Chaney and Lula Mae Carter Dykes; 26 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Rocky Hill AME Church in Greensburg. Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. at Richardson Funeral Home in Hammond. Mose "Pu Pu" Butler Jr., a roofer with Quatroy Roofing Co., died May 17 of undetermined causes at East Jefferson General Hospital. He was 54. Mr. Butler was born in Colfax and lived in New Orleans for the past 35 years. He graduated from Mary E. Graham High School in Colfax. Survivors include his wife, Doris Butler; a son, Jerry Butler; a daughter, Tawana Butler; four brothers, Louis, Charles, Willie Bee and Robert Butler; and four sisters, Ceola B. Barnes, Willie Mae B. Vernon, Creola B. Simms and Shirley B. Pierce. A funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at D.W. Luella Broglin, a homemaker, died Wednesday at Bethany Home. She was 89. Mrs. Broglin was born in Houma and lived in New Orleans. She was a member of Greater St. Stephens Full Gospel Baptist Church, and a former member of Macedonia Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Alton Dixon Sr.; two daughters, Shirley Jones and Catherine Gaynor; seven grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Charles Wellington Boyle Sr., a retired police officer, died Wednesday at Doctors Hospital. He was 86. Mr. Boyle was born in New Orleans and lived in Kenner for 30 years. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and served in the Navy. Survivors include his wife, Mary Durnin Boyle; two sons, Charles Wellington Boyle Jr. and Ronald Joseph Boyle Sr.; a daughter, Sharon Boyle Spatz; and eight grandchildren. A funeral will be held today at 2:45 p.m. at Leitz-Egan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Burial will be in St. Patrick cemetery No. 1.

Leroy "Roy" Batiste Jr., a caterer with Black Tie Catering Hospitality, died May 15 of a gunshot wound at Charity Hospital. He was 18. Mr. Batiste was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. Survivors include his mother, Deborah Reine Batiste; his grandmothers, Louise Francis Reine and Dorothy Sanders; and four sisters, Evelle Thomas and Tara, Raven and Monica Batiste.
