Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Thomas Ray Pierce Jr. of Pittsfield, MA, and Gary Arthur Pierce of DeQuincy, LA; daughters, Andrea Diane Doty and husband Duane of FL, and Jessica Lynn Miller and husband Thomas of Pittsfield, MA; brothers, Donald Pierce and wife Linda of Mobile, AL, Carl Arthur Pierce Jr. of Singer, LA, Roger Edward Pierce and wife Peggy of Singer, LA, and Ronald Pierce and wife Catherine of DeQuincy, LA; sisters, Evelyn Bowman and husband John of Singer, LA, Miriam Massey of Singer, LA, Lila Couteter and husband Roy of DeRidder, LA, Verna Pickering of Singer, LA, and Gail Frazier of DeRidder, LA; best friend and adopted brother, Warren Carmon of MA; 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Helen and Carl Pierce, Sr.; brothers, Jerry, Robert, and Kenneth Pierce.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 31, 2016 from 5:00pm until 9:00pm at Smokey Cove Pentecostal Church in Singer, LA. Funeral service is Friday, April 1, 2016 at 2:00pm at Smokey Cove Pentecostal Church. Rev. Clyde Clark will officiate.

Roy Rheams
February 27, 1931 - March 29, 2016
Roy Rheams, 86, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at his home. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Betty S. Rheams of DeRidder, LA; son, Roy Rheams and wife Tracy of Conroe, TX; daughters, Linda Hemperley and husband Danny of Cleveland, OH, and Sherry Riley and husband Dennis of DeRidder, LA; 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, F.C. and Genevieve Rheams.

Visitation will be held Friday, April 1, 2016 from 5:00pm until 9:00pm at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Funeral service will be Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 2:00pm at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Occupy 1 cemetery in Glenmora, LA.

Buford Nelson
October 18, 1953 - March 26, 2016
Buford Nelson, 62 of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Saturday, March 26, 2016.

Those left to cherish his memory are his very devoted companion, Annie Mae Scott; brother, Willie (Bill) Clark Sr.; sisters, Elizabeth Maxie and Brenda Isler; adopted brother, Jeffery Holmes; sister-in-law, Joyce Clark; godsister, Lucille (Bit) Scott all of DeRidder; his self adopted children, Malcolm Isler, Kennetra Isler, LaQuinta Spikes, Kalise Spikes, Draya Colton, Jada Colton, Jaylynn Colton, Quinlynn Scott, Keke Hargrove and Xavier Scott; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Catherine Clark; and brother, Henry Clark, Jr.
Visitation and funeral service will be held Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in DeRidder, LA. Visitation will begin at 9:00am until time of service at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Newlin cemetery in Singer, LA.

Billie Burnett
August 18, 1933 - March 26, 2016
Billie Burnett, 82, of Clarksville, IN passed away Saturday, March 26, 2016 in Louisville, KY. Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, James Burnett and wife Denise of Batesville, AR, Kenneth Burnett of Batesville, AR, Donnie Burnett and wife Bridgette of McKinney, TX, and Brad Burnett of Nederland, TX; sister, Frances Bobbit and husband Verlon of Lumberton, TX, and Ann Benefield of Beaumont, TX; 15 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Y. Burnett; brother, Jimmy Ritter, and sister, Joanne Clark.

Visitation and Funeral service will be held Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Visitation will be from 9:00am until time of service at 10:00am. Burial will follow at Good Hope cemetery in Singer, LA.

Elmo Monroe, Jr.
September 30, 1950 - March 24, 2016
Elmo Monroe Jr., fondly known as "Tooty" was born on September 30, 1950 in Leesville, LA. He was born to the proud parents of the late Elmo Monroe and the late Emma D. Monroe Jefferson.

On Thursday evening, March 24, 2016, at 6:07 pm an Angel of Mercy stopped by Beauregard Memorial Hospital, gave a Call and Elmo answered. He moved from Labor to Reward. He is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Angela Clubs; 2 brothers, Grady Fisher and Donald Monroe.

Elmo leaves a permanent imprint of memories and a love upon the hearts of his wife, Hattie Monroe; father, Pastor Aaron Jefferson; 3 children, El-Malcolm (Candy) Monroe, Rotesha (Henry) Buckley, Shaun Monroe; 4 stepchildren, Teresa Hardy, Corwin (Rose) Hayes, Felicia Hayes, Ebony (Walter) Edwards; 11 grandchildren, Alexus, Acacia, Kayla, Leaudrae, Cameron, Adryena, Emari, Emoni, Special, Cherish and Kyla; 2 great grandchildren, A'maree and K'yiere Donahue; 2 sisters, Francis (Fred) Parrott, Naomi (Ronnie) Jackson; 2 brothers, Michael (Renee) Jefferson and Jeffery (Ruthie) Monroe; extended Jefferson family, a host of nieces and nephews, The Sweet Home Baptist Church Family and many friends.

The funeral will be held on April 2, 2016 at the Sweet Home Baptist Church, 501 Carlisle St. DeRidder, LA at 11am. Wake services will be held on April 1, 2016 at Myers-Colonial, DeRidder, LA from 6-9pm.

Rocky Wayne Chaney
March 15, 1946 - March 24, 2016
Rocky Wayne Chaney, 70, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Thursday, March 24, 2016. He is survived by his wife, Denise Chaney.
A graveside service will be held Friday, April 1, 2016 at 2:00pm at Central Louisiana Veterans cemetery in Leesville, LA.

Lillian Smith
November 21, 1924 - March 25, 2016
Lillian Orene Davis Smith, one of seven children, was born to Henry and Beulah Green Davis on November 21, 1924 in DeRidder, LA. Lillian passed from this life on March 25, 2016 a the age of 91 years, 4 months, and 4 days.

She attended Rosepine School where she learned to love reading. In 1942, Lillian married a young service man named Valdemar Elton Smith. After the end of WWII, the couple lived in many states before settling in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. There, Lillian worked as a school cafeteria server and eventually was promoted to manager. Born to their marriage were a daughter and son, both of whom she was very proud. After raising their children and retiring from working, she and Val made their home in DeRidder, LA where she lived out the remainder of her days. She was a member of Diamond Baptist Church.

Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, Valdemar Smith; parents, Henry and Beulah Davis; sisters, Goldie McCaig Nichols and Beatrice Midkiff Unruh; and brothers, Connie Davis, Colman Davis, and Raymond Davis. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Valerie Brown and husband Ted of DeRidder; son, James Smith and wife Della of DeRidder; brother, Obie Ray Davis of Milwaukee, WI; grandchildren, Tony Brown and wife Norma, Wyndi Best, Tammy Mitchell and husband John from Lumberton, TX, Timmy Brown and Danny Smith from Conyers, GA; great grandchildren, Brittney Wisby and husband Jason, Abbey Brown, Michael Mitchell, Justin Brown, Laken Mitchell, Lane Brown, Jaclyn Best, Jenna Best and Ryley Brown; and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Sunday, March 27, 2016 from 6:00pm until 9:00pm at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder. Funeral service will be Monday, March 28, 2016 at 3:00pm at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Lewis-New Cypress cemetery in DeRidder. Rev. Paul Massey and Rev. Charles Williams will officiate.

Jeffery Allison Sr.
February 26, 1962 - March 21, 2016
Jeffery Ray Allison, Sr., 54, of Merryville, LA, passed from this life on Monday, March 21, 2016. You may have known him as Big AL, Maddog, or maybe just Jeff, but we called him Daddy. On March 21, 2016, “Daddy” traded in his earthly body for a heavenly one. He passed from this life surrounded by his loving family in Alexandria, LA.

Born on February 26, 1962 in Orange, TX to Arnold and Edna Murphy-Allison, he married the love of his life, Sandra Burge on January 23, 1981. They had two children, Jeffery and Felicia. Jeff was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Anthony Allison; adopted parents, Ray and Mary Fife; and mother-in-law, Joyce Bennett-Burge.

He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Sandy; son, Jeffery Ray Allison and wife Ashley of Merryville, LA; daughter, Felicia Nicole Allison-Simmons and husband Earl of Rosepine; grandchildren, McKenna and Marshall Allison, and Kasen and Devon Simmons; sister, Jinny Hall of San Antonio, TX; brothers and sisters by marriage; Ray Burge, Eva Markham, Barbara Billings, Charles Burge, Ronald Burge, Larry Burge, and Jerry Burge; uncle, Alton Allison and wife Theda of Iowa, LA; aunt, Florence Clement and husband Gordon Edgerly, LA; and a host of nieces nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 25, 2016 from 5:00pm until 9:00pm at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Funeral service will be held Saturday, March 25, 2016 at 2:00pm at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Newlin cemetery in Singer, LA. Rev. Lyndon Longoria and Rev. Charles Hooper will officiate.

Carol Smith
November 29, 1949 - March 21, 2016
Carol Faye Smith, 66, of Merryville, LA, passed from this life on Monday, March 21, 2016 at her home. Carol loved to cook. She never wanted much out of life but she loved her grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, John Richmond and wife Christine of Reeves, LA, and Russell Richmond and wife Lou of Merryville, LA; daughter, Shawn Richmond of Rosepine, LA; brothers, Harold Smith of Bancroft, LA and Junior Smith of Florida; sisters, Flo Kiddy of Starks, LA, and Doris Shelden and husband George of Texarkana, TX, 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, John C. and Callie Smith; and 16 brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 23, 2016 from 9:00am until 1:00pm at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral service is Thursday, March 24, 2016 at 3:00pm at Brushy Creek Baptist Church in Bancroft, LA. Burial will follow at Brushy Creek cemetery.

Henry Clark Jr.
March 12, 1949 - March 16, 2016
Henry Clark Jr. was born in DeRidder, LA to the late Henry Clark Sr. and Catherine Clark, both of DeRidder. He attended George Washington Carver and graduated in the Class of 1969. He served in the U.S. Army from August 12, 1969 to October 18, 1971, serving E Co., 30th Inf, Ft. Rucker, AL. Mr. Clark toured VietNam, as well as serving Post 550 Past Sgt. at Arms VietNam Vet. While in service he received decorations, medal, badges, NDSM, VCM, VSM, he completed training, ATP 21-114, Code of Conduct, Gen Conv., CBR Tng, Mil Jus.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Joyce M. Clark of DeRidder, LA; daughter, Romona T. Scott and husband Alvin (Deon) of DeRidder, LA; son, Jason Blackwell of San Bernadino, CA; grandchildren, Ny’Kira Scott, and Sy’rai Scott; sisters, Elizabeth Maxie, and Brenda Isler both of DeRidder, LA; brothers, Willie (Bill) Clark, and Buford Nelson both of DeRidder, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Clark Sr. and Catherin Clark; and son, Antonio (Sweetpea) Scott.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 23, 2016 from 5:00pm until 9:00pm at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Funeral service is Thursday, March 24, 2016 at 11:00am at Grace Church in DeRidder. Rev. Alvin Peters and Rev. George Lee Glass will officiate.

Ruby Howard

October 11, 1938 - April 20, 2016

Ruby Rae Howard, 77, of Hornbeck, LA, passed from on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at her home. “She lived one day at a time”. Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Richard Eugene Erwin and wife Karen of Hornbeck, LA, Billy F. Erwin of Hornbeck, LA, Jefferson Lawrence Erwin of Natchitoches, LA, Kenneth Earl Erwin of Hornbeck, and Joe Howard of Lumberton, TX; daughters, Brenda Rae Stone and husband Larry of Anacoco, LA, Katherine Francis Ball and husband L. C. Jeane of Hornbeck, LA, Debbie Howard of Houston, TX, and Jackie Howard of Crosby, TX; brother, Donny McKee and wife Jackie of Walnut Hill, LA; sister, Shirley Ruiz of CA; 26 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer R. Howard; parents, Golda Mae and Jack L. McKee, Sr.; daughter, Pauline Sigler and husband Roy; brothers, Thurman, Winfred, and Jack McKee Jr.; and grandsons, Scotty and Bryan Eric Martin.

Visitation will be held Sunday, April 24, 2016 beginning at 5:00pm at Hornbeck Full Gospel Church in Hornbeck, LA. Funeral service will be Monday, April 25, 2016 at 2:00pm at Hornbeck Full Gospel Church. Burial will follow at Walnut Hill cemetery in Slagle, LA.

June 9, 1953 - April 19, 2016

Paul Eugene Amerson passed away April 19, 2016 at his home in Merryville, La. Paul was born June 9, 1953 in DeRidder, La. He was preceded in death by his father and mother David "Blue" and Ida Amerson, his wife, Rebecca "Becky" Amerson, and his two sons, David Paul Amerson and Frankie Paul Amerson. He is survived by his children Alma (Larry) Day of Molino, Fl., Jennifer Amerson of Leesville, La., and Matthew Amerson of Molino, Fl., Grandchildren, Camron Day of Molino, Fl., Dominic Pilley of Leesville, La., Kristina Pilley of Leesville, La., and Shane Amerson of Merryville, La., sister, Susie (Jesse) Gill of Merryville, La., Brothers, Larry (Joyce) Amerson of Merryville, La., and Phillip Amerson of Merryville, La. Girlfriend, Diane Hudson of Merryville, La., and mother and first wife of two of his children Amanda "Lucy" Amerson of Jay, Fl. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, Aunts and Uncles.

Visitation and Funeral service will be held Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 2:00pm with funeral service beginning at 3:00pm. Burial will follow at Merryville cemetery in Merryville, LA.
