Morris DeGlandon, 88, of Sulphur, LA, passed from this life on Friday, December 18, 2015. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 62 years, Ebella Duhon DeGlandon; daughter, Sandra Fluhr and husband Roger of Muncie, IN; 3 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ellis DeGlandon; mother, Armanthe Guillory DeGlandon; son, Hiram Mark DeGlandon; brothers, Dee DeGlandon and Joe DeGlandon; sister, Rose Gobel.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 22, 2015 from 5:00pm until 9:00pm at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Funeral service is Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at 10:00am at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Miller Annex in Starks, LA.

Patricia Hershsey
December 10, 1932 - December 12, 2015
Patricia Juanita Hershey, 83, peacefully passed away at her home in DeRidder, LA on December 12, 2015. As the youngest of 14 children, she was born to Jesse Earl and Nellie Mae Ingland outside of Forgan, OK on December 10, 1932. Pat was united in marriage on December 27, 1950 to her loving husband, Dale Harold Hershey of Turpin, OK. To this union were born two boys, Patrick “Rick” Dale Hershey of Merryville, LA, and James “Brent” Brenton Hershey of Denver , CO. Pat is survived by one sister, Darlene Faye McCarter of Forgan, OK; her loving husband Dale; her sons; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and many loved friends and relatives.

Memorial services will be at the home in DeRidder on January 9, 2016 and in Akron, CO on May 7, 2016 at the Akron Community Center.

Mildred Tilley

Mildred Tilley, 84, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Tuesday, December 08, 2015 at her home. Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Daniel Tilley and wife Geraldine of Burr Ferry, LA, Ronald Tilley and companion JoAnn of Merryville, LA, Ted Tilley and wife Theresa of DeRidder, LA, Eric Tilley of Merryville, LA, Jerry Tilley and wife Sherry of DeRidder, LA, and Terry Tilley and wife Tina of DeRidder, LA; brother, Harold Nash and wife Barbara of Jasper, TX; sisters, Norma Lee Smith of Burr Ferry, LA, and Yvonne Bonner of Evans, LA; 17 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 2 on the way. She was preceded in death by her husband, C.B. Tilley; parents, Willie and Thelma Nash; grandson, Johnnie Tilley; and sister, Faye Jarrel.

Visitation will be held Thursday, December 10, 2015 from 5:00pm until 9:00pm and Friday, December 11, 2015 from 12:00pm until 2:00pm at First Pentecostal Church in DeRidder, LA. Funeral service will be Friday, December 11, 2015 at 2:00pm at First Pentecostal Church. Burial will follow at Beauregard cemetery in DeRidder. Rev. Eddie Tilley and Rev. Zale Lewis will officiate.

Billie Jo McGehee
July 11, 1932 - December 6, 2015
Billie Jo McGehee, 83, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Sunday, December 6, 2015 at her home.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Richard Lee McGehee and wife Faith of Walker, LA; daughter, Claudia West and husband Rick of DeRidder, LA; grandchildren, Erin Reaux and husband Eric, Jessica Comeaux and husband Kyle, Amanda Gentry and husband Joe, Lana Ramirez and husband Neo, and Scot West and wife Joni; great grandchildren, McKenzie, Spencer, London, Laken, Maddison, Emma, Landon, Damian, Lincon, Case, Paightyn, and Maddy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, C.R. McGehee; parents, Rob and Beulah Wagnon; father and mother-in-law, Clint and Lanie McGehee; sister, Myrtle Spears; brothers, Pete and Billy Wagnon.
Visitation will be held Monday, December 7, 2015 from 5:00pm until 9:00pm at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral service is Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at 10:00am at New Life Baptist Church in DeRidder, LA. Burial will follow at Dry Creek cemetery in Dry Creek, LA. Rev. Lynn Clayton will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Life Baptist Church or Dry Creek cemetery.

Betty Kelly, 78, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 in Lake Charles, LA.

Perry "Skip" Anderson III
August 6, 1959 - July 13, 2015
Perry “Skip”Anderson III, 55, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Monday, July 13, 2015. Skip was a 1977 graduate of DeRidder High School. Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Marie Cooley Anderson; brother, Hon. C. Kerry Anderson and wife Erika all of DeRidder, LA. He was preceded in death by his father, Perry W. Anderson, Jr.

Visitation and funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at Grace Church in DeRidder, LA. Visitation will be from 10:00am until time of funeral service at 2:00pm. Burial will follow at Beauregard cemetery in DeRidder. Rev. George Lee Glass, Rev. C.E. Cooley Jr., Rev. James Glass, and Rev. Tommy Magee will officiate.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the administration and staff of Westwood Manor, Beauregard Memorial Hospital and Dr. Chris Granger for their exemplary care and kindnesses toward Skip over the last three years.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Westwood Manor Nursing Home for resident sundries, or to the charity of their choice.

Allie Mae Amerson Myers, 91, of Merryville, LA, passed from this life on Friday, July 10, 2015 in DeRidder, LA.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Ann Myers Benoit and husband Roger of DeRidder, LA; son, Hardy L. Myers and wife Renee’ of DeRidder, LA.; 4 Grandchildren, Glenn Nelson and Wife Kathy of Houston, Texas, Lane Nelson and wife Margo of Hammond, LA, Jordan Myers - Lukens and husband Ken of DeRidder, LA and Frind Myers and wife Laura also of DeRidder, LA.; 11 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She is also survived by a brother, L.C. Amerson of Virginia Beach, VA and a sister, Shirley Amerson Whatley of Bratt, Florida.

Allie was preceded in death by her husband, Hardy “Crip” Myers; son, Troy Glenn Myers, one grandson Hardy Lamar Nelson; Her beloved mother Dollie Hoven Amerson; father Lawrence Amerson and 12 brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be held Monday, July 13, 2015 from 5:00pm until 9:00pm at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder. Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at 10:00am also at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Merryville cemetery in Merryville, LA. Rev. Lane Nelson and Rev. Kenneth Gibson will officiate.

Linda Sue Whittington, 67, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 in Lake Charles, LA in Lake Charles. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Linda Lynette Coker and husband Douglas Derrell of Leesville, LA, Jeanette Hudle and husband Joey of Leblanc, LA, and Sondra Juanette Whittington of DeRidder, LA; grandchildren, Linda Marie Muse, Douglas Daniel Coker, John Gerald Coker, Kenneth Neal Riggle, Eugene Joseph Riggle, Estelle Ruth Hydle, and Brian Franklin Hydle; great grandchildren, Grant Gerald Coker, Logan Lemore Muse, Abigail Marie Muse, Olivia Perkins, Brian Perkins, Jerilynn Mabry and Daryn Mabry; and Peanut, Sondra’s dog and companion. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Tressie Fee; sisters, Wanda Hoitenga and Gertrude Turner; brothers, JT and TJ Fee.

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 9, 2015 from 2:00pm until 9:00pm at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder. Franklin Paul Amerson, 35, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life, July 6, 2015 in Baytown, TX. Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Sean Amerson; stepson, Jonathan Sanjuan; father Paul Amerson; stepmother, Diane Hudson; brothers, Michael Smith, Matthew Amerson, and Tony Hudson Jr.; brother-in-law, Larry Day; sisters, Alma Day, Jennifer Amerson, Robin Hudson, and Lisa Allen; nieces and nephews, Destiny Hudson, Kayleigh Hudson, Kristina Pilley, Dominic Pilley, Lil D. Hudson and Cameron Day; aunts and uncles, Susan and Jessie Gill, Tammy Amerson, Larry Amerson and Phillip Amerson; many cousins whom he loved dearly. He had 2 loves in his life, Krista Atkins and Trang Tran. He loved them both dearly. We also want to include The S.W.A.T. Towing. He loved his friends like family. He never saw black and white, he just saw you for you. He never had a frown always had a joke. He will be missed dearly. We love you Frank.

Shirley Ann Lucius Smith

Shirley Ann Lucius Smith, 74, of Merryville, LA, passed from this life on January 7, 2018.

Mom was all about family – especially the kids. She loved jigsaw puzzles, Bingo, baseball, and dancing. She loved her friends and mourned for each one that went on to meet Jesus before her. Mom loved helping people: from sewing clothes and mending to doing anyone’s hair – she firmly believed everyone needed a haircut! Last, but certainly not least, Mom was the biggest prankster and everything was fair game; she never angered when she was pranked back. Mom was a genuine treasure and she will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Gary “Bebo” Upchurch and Carolyn of Merryville, LA, Frank Sullivan of Merryville, LA, David Brown of Covington, TX; daughters, Luwanna Newman of Florien, LA, Tina Lindsey and Ed of Jasper, TX, Belinda Stapleton of Merryville, LA, Lori Brown of West Columbia, TX; brothers, Francis Don Lucius of Rosepine, LA, Eugene Lucius of Arkansas; sister, Doris Una Walker of Rosepine, LA; twenty-one grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lem and Jude Lucius; daughter, Debi Brown Phelps; brothers, L.J. Lucius, Johnny Lucius, Dean Lucius, Milford & Murphy Lucius; daughters-in-law, Zandra Brown and Karen Sullivan; brother-in-law, Wayburn Walker; sisters-in-law, Billie Lucius and Sandra Lucius.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 9, 2018, from 5:00 - 9:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home, in DeRidder, LA. Visitation will continue at Myers Colonial Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 10, 2018, beginning at 10:00 AM until the time of service at 2:00 PM. Brother Johnathan Walker will officiate. Pallbearers will be Glenn Miller, Patrick Miller, David Miller, Josh Daigle, Skyler Stapleton and Garrin Stapleton. Burial will follow at Merryville cemetery in Merryville, LA.

David E. Grantham

David E. Grantham, 68, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on January 5, 2018.

David had a passion for nature and beautiful gardens. He held memberships in the American Rhododendron Society and Azalea Society of America. He was active in the Siuslaw Chapter in Florence, Oregon and the Southeastern Chapter in western North Carolina. His own gardens in Dallas, Texas and Maggie Valley, North Carolina were dominated by azaleas and rhododendrons; and he never hesitated to show off his garden and share his knowledge with anyone.

He was the co-founder and vice president of the North Cliff Neighborhood Association and was instrumental in gaining Conservation District status through close association with the City of Dallas. He never met a stranger and would immediately introduce himself and engage in conversation. David will be forever remembered by all of his friends and neighbors for his devotion to actively improving the quality of life in his neighborhood.

David was a graduate of McNeese State University. He studied classical voice and appeared in productions with The Dallas Opera as well as in many musical venues in Texas and Louisiana.

Those left to cherish his memory are his two sisters, Linda K. Johnson and husband Johnny of DeRidder, LA and Diane Jane Pederson and husband Brandt of Lake Charles, LA; a host of other family and friends; and his friend and business partner of 35 years, Christopher Brown.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Ruby Grantham.

A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
