She is survived by her parents, grandmother, Randie Bailey of DeRidder, LA; grandfather, Kenneth Smith of South Carolina; grandparents, Kelvin and Terry Thomas of DeRidder, LA; uncles, Patryck Johnson and Chandler Smith of DeRidder, LA; great grandparents, Randy and Grace Johnson of Anacoco, LA and Kenneth and Rosemary Smith; great grandmothers, Melba McMahon and Olea Fletcher.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 25, 2013 at 3:00pm at McMahon cemetery in Evans, LA. Bro. Damon Magee will officiate.

Wanda Jean McManus, 61, of DeRidder, LA passed from this life on Sunday, October 20, 2013. Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Timothy McManus of Columbia, SC; mother, Lue Smith of DeRidder, LA; brother, Willie Tanton, Jr. and wife Jewel of DeRidder, LA; and sister, Jacquelyn Freeman and husband Marcus of Dallas, TX. She was preceded in death by her father, Timothy Smith and sister, Elizabeth Brown.
Visitation and funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2013. Visitation will be from 9:00am until 11:00am at Sweet Home Baptist Church in DeRidder, LA with Funeral Service beginning at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Community cemetery in DeQuincy, LA. Rev. Freddie Thomas will officiate.
Funeral services are under the direction of Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA.
Judy Faye Colton
August 24, 1967 - October 17, 2013
Judy Faye Scott Colton was born August 24, 1967 to the late T.W. and Mary Scott in DeRidder, Louisiana.
Judy married
Artis Lee Colton Jr. and to this union, four children were born.
Judy is preceded in death by her parents, T.W. and Mary Scott; brothers, Elton Mango, Henderson Scott and Edwin Coleman; grandfather Epp Lloyd; grandmother, Clara Hargrove and nephew, Antonio Scott.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Artis Lee Colton Jr.; four children, Ja-Sheika Colton, Artis Colton (Ebony), Audriana Colton, and Julisa Colton all of DeRidder, LA; sister-in-law, Belinda Banks of Lake Charles; sisters, Hattie Simeion, Joyce (Henry) Clark, Lucille Youngblood, Annie Scott, Gloria (Rodney) Blake, and La-Kendra Scott Perkins all of DeRidder, LA; aunts, Betty Ross, Essie Jones of Mansfield, LA, Mary Belton of Converse, LA, Fannie Houston and husband Charles of DeRidder, LA; uncles, Mosley (Minnie) Lloyd of Mansfield, LA and Wiley (Ida) Hargrove of Beaumont, TX; mother-in-law, Ernestine Colton of DeRidder, LA; grandchildren, Jaylynn Colton, Jada Colton and Draya Colton all of DeRidder, LA and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends; special niece/goddaughter, Quinlyn Scott; sister-in-law, Johnny Mango of DeRidder, LA; God given uncle, Buford Nelson of DeRidder, LA, and God given brother Charlie (Kim) Guillory of DeRidder, LA.

Robert "Tootsie" Davis

Robert Ray (Tootsie) Davis, 85, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Sunday, October 20, 2013. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Carolyn Davis of DeRidder, LA: son, Ray Davis and wife Carol; Stepson, Giles Hickman and wife Cheryl of Longville, LA; Daughter, Roberta Bailes; Sister, Florence Roy and husband Anthony of Iowa, LA; Grandchildren: Kyle and Cory Davis, Polly Bailes:
Step Granchildren: Tammy Dines and husband Mike of San Antonio, TX and Tabitha Hollman and husband David of SanAntonio, TX. Step Great grandchildren: Connor and Carson Hollman of SanAntonio, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Katie Davis; Brother, Ruben Davis; Sister, Mary Lou Johnson;
Mr. Davis was a native of Oberlin, LA, but has been a DeRidder resident for many years. He was in the Navy for several years serving as an aircraft mechanic, and was also in the Merchant Marines. He was of the Baptist Faith.
After service, he attended McNeese State University and received his degree in Horticulture. He was Seed Orchard Superintendent for Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry. He then retired in 1986 from the department. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and hunting in Arkansas and Colorado.
Visitation will be held, Tuesday, October 22, 2013 from 4-9 PM at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at 2 PM at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Burial will follow in the Cannon cemetery (Hwy 190 West) in Merryville, LA. Elder Truman Keel will officiate.

Maeola Clark, 86, of Longville, LA, passed from this life on Sunday, October 20, 2013. Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Mike Clark and wife Denise; daughters, Geraldine Gray and husband Wayne, and Glinda Fontenot and husband Raymond all of Longville, LA; grandchildren, Lisa Benoit, Herman Gray, Eric Fontenot, Mandie Clark, Cody Clark, Dallas Clark, Blake “Doc” Clark, Kim Simon and Oliver Clark, Jr. and a host of nieces, nephews and her special church family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver Clark; son, John David Clark; parents:James and Delphine Burgess, sister, Viola Burgess Warren; grandchildren, Ervin Fontenot and September Michelle Clark.

Nancy Jo Bryant, 67, of Merryville, LA, passed from this life on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 in Lake Charles, LA. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Billy H. Bryant ; and son, Billy Eugene Bryant both of Merryville, LA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fitch and Ameda Napier.

Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Sarah Robinson of Middlesex, VA; son, William Gresham and wife Maria of Houston, TX; sisters, Frances Smith and husband Thomas of Middlesex, VA and Gloria Clayborne and husband Merle of Gloucester, VA; grandchildren, Ilene, Jayden and Gabriel Gresham. He was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa Robinson; father, Eddie Robinson, and brother, Charles Conway.

Sam Miller
September 2, 1922 - October 7, 2013
Sam Miller, 91, passed away at Beauregard Memorial Hospital on October 7, 2013. He was born in DeRidder, September 2, 1922. Mr. Miller worked for First National Bank for 40 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church for over 75 years and was a veteran of WWII and the Korean Conflict. He was also a past member of DeRidder JayCees and Kiwanis Club.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 66 years, Rita “Diddy” Miller; son David Miller and wife Linda of DeRidder; daughter, Joyce Landers of Kilgore, TX; brother, John Miller of Houston, TX; niece, Jan Miller Darnell and husband David of DeRidder, LA; great nephew, Ben Darnell and wife Tara of Prairieville, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Eva Miller; brother, Roy Miller, and step-grandson, Monte Landers.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2013 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Funeral services will be on Friday, October 11, 2013 at 1:00pm at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Beauregard cemetery in DeRidder, LA. Rev. Lindsey Burns will officiate.

He served in the United States Army and had tours in Iraq and Desert Storm. Vandergrift, PA; brothers, Randy Long of E. Vandergrift, PA and Victor Poisontete and wife Sue of Long Island, NY; brother-in-law, Curtis Dunagan of Albany, NY; grandchildren, Gary Allen Beecher, Preston Beecher, Joshua Hickman, and Lillian Johnson. He was preceded in death by his father, James Long.
