Jennifer Jane Eason McLain

January 24, 1961 - September 2, 2012

Funeral services for Jennifer Jane Eason McLain, age 51, will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, September 5, 2012, at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel, Springhill, LA, with Rev. Phillip Carroll officiating. Interment will follow in Springhill Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, Louisiana.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 4, 2012 from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Bailey Funeral Home.

Jennifer was born on January 24, 1961 in Hot Springs, AR to Thomas Franklin and Nancy Wallace Eason and died Sunday, September 2, 2012 in Greenwood, LA. . She was a former resident of Springhill and had made her home in Greenwood the last eight years. She was a member of the Baptist faith, a graduate of Bradley High School, class of 1979 and from SAU in Magnolia, class of 1987. She was employed as an RN at Willis Knighton-Pierremont.

She is survived by her daughters, Bridgett Smith Hampton and husband, Allen of Stamps, AR, Samantha Jean McLain of Greenwood, LA; grandson, Joey Hampton; her mother, Nancy Wallace Eason of Springhill, LA; brothers, Tommy Eason and wife, Connie of Magnolia, AR, Brian Eason and wife, Tonya of Natchez, MS, Jesse Eason and wife, Vonda of Sarepta, LA; and a number of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, Thomas Franklin Eason, Sr., sister, Susan Eason, niece, Lori Lea Jeter and nephew, Thomas Coleman Eason.

Serving as pallbearers will be a group of her very close friends.

Elizabeth June (Ervin) Barclay

December 10, 1965 - August 30, 2012

Funeral services for Elizabeth June Ervin Barclay, age 46, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, September 2, 2012 at Central Baptist Church, where she was a member, with Rev. Tim Everett officiating. Burial will be in the Springhill Cemetery, with military graveside rites, under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Saturday at Bailey Funeral Home.

Elizabeth was born December 10, 1965 to Gordon and Jean Gipson Ervin, and died Thursday, August 30, 2012 in Minden, LA. She was a lifelong resident of this area, a graduate of Springhill High School, class of 1984, a graduate of SAU in Magnolia, AR and was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during Desert Storm. She loved horses, music, art and working with children of all ages. She is preceded in death by her father, Gordon Ervin, on February 18, 2012.

Elizabeth is survived by her son, Heath Harvey; her mother, Jean Gipson Ervin, both of Springhill, LA; and brother, Gregory Ervin of Houston, TX and many other beloved family members and friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Brian Gipson, Brandon Gipson, Ricky Huff, Ricky McWilliams, Johnny Mosley and Trey Cobb.

Vernell Dunn Bogan Whitfield
February 13, 1929 - August 27, 2012

Graveside services for Mrs. Vernell Dunn Bogan Whitfield, age 83, will be held Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at 10:00 AM in Old Town Cemetery with Rev. Danny Triplet officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Haynesville, LA.

Visitation will begin Tuesday at 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.

Mrs. Whitfield was born February 13, 1929 in Antione, AR to Carlos and Addie Copeland Dunn and passed away August 27, 2012 in Denton, TX. She was a resident of Lewisville, TX and a former resident of Haynesville and was co-owner of the Western Auto Store, Haynesville. After moving to Texas she was employed by Wal-Mart for many years.

She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Beck and husband, Russell of Lewisville, TX; son, Dewayne Bogan of Texarkana, AR; brothers, Leslie Dunn of Murfreesboro, AR, Norman Dunn of Ft. Smith, AR; sister, Mary Dunn Gatlin of Prattsville, AR; four grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and a host of nieces & nephews.

Mrs. Whitfield was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Burnie Bogan, Theo “Whit” Whitfield; brothers, J.P. Dunn, Jethro Dunn, W.C. Dunn and sister, Maurice Dunn Wilson.

Barbara Barbarotto
December 31, 1946 - August 29, 2012

Barbara “Tina” Barbarotto, age 65 of Mayflower, AR, passed from this life on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at her home in Mayflower. She was born on December 31, 1946 in Norfolk, VA to the late Travis Brickhouse and Ollie Margaret Murray. Tina retired from Wal-Mart in 2011 as a stocker for the Conway, AR store location. She also enjoyed reading, traveling, and gardening. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister whom will be greatly missed by all.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Richard Barbarotto; two brothers, Dennis Harris and Greg Harris.

Those left to cherish her memory include two sons, Jon Barbarotto and wife Tabatha of El Dorado, James Barbarotto and wife Tracy of Greenbrier, AR; one Daughter, Maria Barbarotto of Damascus, AR; four grandchildren, Gier Henderson and wife Jennifer, Garner Henderson, Melissa Barbarotto and James Daniel Barbarotto; two sisters, Melody Loving of Portsmouth, VA and Karen Taylor of Suffolk, VA; mother in law, Flo Sage of Norphlet, AR; father in law, Jon Barbarotto and wife Mickey of Conway, AR.

Memorial Services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 1, 2012 at Bailey Funeral Home Chapel in El Dorado, with Bro. John McClelland officiating. Cremation graveside services will follow in Smackover Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of El Dorado.

Visitation with the family will be from noon up until 1:00 p.m. service time on Saturday.

In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Barbarotto Memorial Cancer fund at any Centennial Bank in Arkansas to help other cancer families in need.

Hazel Marie Sullivan Cooper

May 2, 1931 - August 26, 2012

Funeral services for Mrs. Marie Sullivan Cooper, age 81, will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, August 30, 2012, at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel, Springhill, LA. Interment will follow in Spring Branch Cemetery, Taylor, AR under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 29, 2012, 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

Mrs. Cooper was born on May 2, 1931 to William and Enolie Fields Sullivan in Springhill, LA and passed away on August 26, 2012 in Taylor, AR. She was a resident of Taylor, AR, a member of Spring Branch Baptist Church and a homemaker.

She is survived by her two sons, Jerry Cooper of Taylor, AR, Terry Cooper of Harrison, AR; one daughter, Sherry Cooper of Aaron, OH; eight grandchildren, two sisters, Mary Ward and husband, Howard "Gene" of Sarepta, LA, Glennie Ratliff and husband, James Howard of Cullen, LA and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Cooper was preceded in death by her husband, Ecil Loyd Cooper; father, William Marshal Sullivan and mother, Enolie Fields Sullivan.

May 16, 1928 - February 21, 2013

Memorial services for Mrs. Page Pintard Harrison, age 84, will be held Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 3:00 PM in the Springhill United Methodist Church with Rev. William McLain and Dr. Charles Payne officiating.

Visitation will begin Saturday at 1:30 PM until time of service.

Mrs. Harrison was born May 16, 1928 in Natchez, MS to Claude and Charlotte Rust Gillespie Pintard, Sr. and passed away Thursday, February 21, 2013 in Shreveport, LA. She was a resident of Springhill, a faithful member of the Springhill United Methodist Church and had been a purchasing agent for Springhill Hospital. Mrs. Harrison was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, C.M. “Son” Harrison; daughters, Jane Meyers and husband, Max of Atlanta, GA, Patsy Chappell and husband, Brent of West Monroe, LA; grandchildren, Page Chappell, Wil Chappell, Catherine Meyers, Abbey Meyers, Sam Meyers; great grandson, Phoenix Gurzeon; brother, Claude “Buck” Pintard of Natchez, MS and a host of nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Springhill United Methodist Church, Ed Schultz Sunday School Class or the Prayer Garden.

Farnum Sidney Hunt
12/26/1919 - 02/23/2013

Graveside service for Farnum Sidney Hunt, 93, will be held on Wednesday, February 27, at 11:00 AM at New Ramah Cemetery in Millerton. Dr. Shelby Cowling will officiate.

Mr. Hunt passed away at LSU Medical Center in Shreveport on February 23. Mr. Hunt was born and lived most of his life in Haynesville, LA. When he was 16 he enrolled in Wentworth Military Academy in Lexington, MO, where he received his high school diploma. He then attended Louisiana Tech University and graduated from Louisiana State University with a degree in Sociology.

In 1941 Mr. Hunt married his high school sweetheart, Mary Ellon Baucum, also from Haynesville. Soon after marriage he was drafted to serve in World War II. He received a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star during his service and left the army as a Captain in 1945.

For the next 30 years Mr. Hunt was a rural mail carrier for the United States Postal Service. He and Mary Ellon lovingly raised their 3 children, Sid, Sue, and Cindy in Haynesville. After retirement from the US Postal Service he spent his free time doing the two things he loved most – watching his grandchildren at sporting events and raising bird dogs. He shared his passion and love of dogs with his children and special friends, including Buzz Kemper. He also cared for his wife whom he dearly loved.

Mary Ellon, his wife of 71 years, survives Mr. Hunt along with his daughter-in-law Gaynel Neyrey Hunt of Shreveport; daughters Sue Hunt Frye, and husband David of Homer; and Cindy Hunt Murray and husband Dennis of Greenwood. Surviving grandchildren include Glen Hunt of Franklinville, NC, Chris Hunt of Monroe, Emily Hunt Horton of Shreveport, Charles Frye of West Monroe, James Frye of Dallas, TX, Stacey Murray of Shreveport, and Rachel Murray of Pittsburgh, PA; two nieces, a nephew, and numerous great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents A. H. Hunt, father, and Ethel Bond Hunt, mother; two brothers; son, William Sidney Hunt; and grandson Jeffrey Murray.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Haynesville United Methodist Church or the charity of your choice.
