LaPlace
Earleen Troxclair LaPlace died July 14, 2005 at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was 83.

Ms. LaPlace was born in New Sarpy and lived in Sunshine for many years before moving to Baton Rouge. She graduated from Leon Godchaux High School in Reserve and the University of Southwestern Louisiana . She earned a master's degree from Louisiana State University. She was a retired teacher for the Iberville Parish school system.

Survivors include two sons, Joseph J. LaPlace III of Sunshine and Leo Kent LaPlace; a daughter, Laura LaPlace Pearson of Kenner; a brother, Michael Troxclair of Beaumont, Texas ; three sisters, Jane Perilloux of Kenner, Carol Trosclair of LaPlace and Winnie Perque; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A Mass was said Monday. Burial in St. Gabriel Catholic Church cemetery.

Lawley
Mary Taylor Lawley died July 24, 2005 at River Region Hospice House. She was 96.

Mrs. Lawley was born in Altoona, Penn., lived in Lacombe for 25 years and lived in Des Allemands for the past year. She was a parishioner of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Paradis and a former parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lacombe. She was an Army veteran of World War II and served as a nurse in North Africa, France, Italy and Sardinia. She was awarded the European Theater Ribbon, four Battle Stars and the World War II Victory Medal. She was a retired registered nurse at Hotel Dieu.

Survivors include her husband, William B. Lawley; two sons, Edward Parks and Stephen Taylor Lawley; a daughter, Mary Rachel Ertel; a sister, Elizabeth Hoyer; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

A Mass was said Thursday.

Louque
Jennie Marie Louque died July 3, 2005 at St. James Parish Hospital as a result of injuries sustained in a boating incident. She was 20.

Ms. Louque was born in Metairie and resided in Grand Point. She was a 2003 graduate of Lutcher High School where she was a member of the cheerleader squad and the softball and volleyball teams. She was a student of LSU and RPCC. She was an employee of Erick M. Tadda Attorney at Law in Baton Rouge.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Charles W. Madere and Doria Madere Cambre, and Perry "P.J." Louque, Jr.

She is survived by her daughter, Kadynn Michelle Roussel; her parents, Jody and Kathy Madere Louque; her brother, Matthew Louque; her boyfriend, Troy Roussel; and her grandparents, Douglas Cambre and Lonna Z. Louque.

She will be sadly missed by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and the family of odd "Z.B." and Sandy Roussel.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held July 7. Burial in St. Joseph Mausoleum.

Mann
John Ralph Mann a resident of Fayetteville, Tennessee, died on July 31, 2005 in Nashville. He was 75.

A native of Alexander City, Ala., he was the son of the late W.B. and Annie Adamson Mann, was a graduate of Port Arthur College and retired from Teledyne where he was the Vice President of contracts. He was a member of the Fayetteville First Baptist Church where he served as deacon, treasurer and a cook for the Wednesday night supper program.

He came to Fayetteville in 1949 as an engineer and announcer for WEKR. Mr. Mann enjoyed golf and flying model airplanes.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy Jobe Mann of Fayetteville; two sons, Brian Douglas Mann and his wife, Karen, of Richmond, Va., and Timothy Jobe Mann and wife, Cindy, of Luling, La.; four grandchildren, Heather LeBlanc and Shannon Pitchford of Luling, La., Carrie Mann of Maryland and Allison Mann of Richmond, Va.; three great-grandchildren, Ryan, Brandon and Gabrielle LeBlanc of Luling, La.; two brothers, B.L. Mann of Stone Mountain, Ga., and James Mann of Panama City, Fla.; and two sisters, Mary Underwood and Sue Loyd, both of Alexander City, Ala.

Funeral services were held on Aug. 3 at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Van Johnson officiating. interment followed in Rose Hill Cemetery. Higgins Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Scott
Freddie Lloyd Scott died July 17, 2005 of a stab wound at St. Charles Hospital. He was 26.

Mr. Scott was born in New Orleans and lived in Luling.

Survivors include two sons, Adam Baldridge and Donnell Ingram; a daughter, Isis Echevarria; his mother, Wanda Scott Smith; his stepfather, Donald Smith; four brothers, Charles, Derrick, Jermaine and Brandon Scott; two sisters, Delta and Keyoka Scott; and his grandmother, Carrie Ellezy.

A funeral was held Saturday. Burial in Mount Airy Memorial Park Cemetery.

Smith
Le'Jon Jamaine Smith died July 20, 2005 of strangulation at her home. She was 14.

Ms. Smith was a native of New Sarpy and a resident of New Orleans.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Gigi Smith; and grandparents, Dorothy Smith, Lovenia, and Henry Williams

Survivors include her father, Arnold Ducre; three brothers, Reginald Fallen, Courtlin Ducre and Justinn Smith; seven sisters, Neely, Nina and Paloma Ducre and Kerionda, Darilyn, Jaziane and Javanti Smith; and her grandparents, James M. Smith, Albert Ducre and Aletha and Louis Johnson .

A funeral was held Tuesday. Burial in New Sarpy Cemetery.

Strate
Mary Rose Strate died July 8, 2005. She was 83.

She is survived by her loving husband, Milton L. Strate; her daughter, Kim Strate Hatfield; and her grandson, Justin Allen Hatfield.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held yesterday. Burial in St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum.

Suer
Tracy Robinson Suer, age 43, Passed away peacefully at home on July 30, 2005. She was a resident of Sedona, Arizona. Born March 27, 1962 in Houston, Tracy has been an Arizona resident since 2000 when she moved from Kenner.

Tracy was a legal assistant for Aspey, Watkins & Diesel/P.L.L.C. for 5 years. She was a graduate of Hahnville High School and Borrello Court Reporting School. She was awarded the Certificate of Appreciation for Vocational Excellence from New Orleans Rotary Club and awarded a Certificate of Appreciation from Aspey, Watkins & Diesel Law Firm.

Mrs. Suer was a member of the Sedona United Methodist Church. She had unconditional love for her family, had a love of flowers, gardening and the love of nature. She loved to swim, was a lover of animals, and LOVED hearts and bears.

Mrs. Suer was preceded in death by her father Arthur M. Robinson.

A list of survivors includes her loving husband Leo T. Suer, her mother Rosemary C. Robinson, her sons Lance Nikola Suer and Tyler Lars Suer, sisters Dana R. Goodman and Dawn R. LeMoine, and her loving companions Cassie and Henry.

There will be a memorial service today at 2:00 pm at the Sedona United Methodist Church, Sedona, Arizona.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made in Tracy Robinson Suer’s memory for her children to the Arizona State Savings and Credit Union, 140 Coffee Pot Dr. Sedona, az 86336.

Greer’s Mortuary of Sedona assisted the family with the arrangements.
