RICHARD W. DAROUSE JR.
Richard "Rick" W. Darouse Jr., 58, died Thursday, Dec. 16, 2004, at North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond.
He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and owner of Darouse House Movers, Hammond.
He is survived by one daughter, Ashley Darouse Heard of Mandeville; one son, Richard "Rick" W. Darouse III of Irving, Texas ; his mother, Althea Cannon Darouse of Hammond; one sister, Diane Darouse Pedeaux of Hammond; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Woodrow Darouse Sr.
Visitation was held Saturday at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home, Hammond. Visitation will continue today from 8 a.m. until the Rev. Deven Pedeaux conducts religious services at the funeral home's chapel at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Hammond.
LILLIAN WILLIAMS SIMMONS
GREENSBURG -- Lillian Williams Simmons, 78, died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2004.
A native of Jackson , she was the former owner of Lil's Beauty Shop, Greensburg. A longtime resident of Greensburg and Osyka, Miss., she was a member of First Baptist Church, Greensburg, and a former member of Osyka Baptist Church.
She is survived by one son, Thomas R. Johnson of Greensburg; one stepson, Dr. Larry Simmons of Little Rock, Ark.; one sister, Betty Boyle of Greensburg; two grandchildren and a numerous, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alva P. Simmons; her parents, Oscar and Evelyn Williams; one brother, Willie T. "Son" Williams; and three sisters, Patricia Ann Davis, Doris Sternberg and Evelyn Louise Williams.
Visitation will be Monday at First Baptist Church from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 a.m. until Revs. Milton Kliesch, Bo Rice and Luther Stanford will conduct the services at 11 a.m. burial will be in Greensburg Cemetery.
McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, is in charge of the arrangements.
JERRY SHELTON ADAMS
PUMPKIN CENTER -- Jerry "Poppie" Shelton Adams, 63, died Friday, Dec. 17, 2004, at Summit Hospital, Baton Rouge.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, a member of Carpenter's Local 1098 and a regional safety manager for Brand Scaffold.
Survivors include his wife, Imogene Shaffer Adams of Pumpkin Center; two daughters, Julia Adams of Hammond and Sue Adams of Springfield; two sons, Darrell Adams of Killian and Lucus Stewart of Springfield; a sister, Sue Adams Haltom of Pumpkin Center; and four brothers, Ray, Bobby, Kenneth and the Rev. Melvin Adams, all of Pumpkin Center; and six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
His parents, Eugene and Cecilia Shaffer Adams, and a sister, Doris Adams Nickens, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, Tuesday from 6 to 10 p.m., and Wednesday from 8 until the funeral at 10 a.m. conducted by the Rev. Melvin Adams. Burial will be at Gatlin Cemetery.

PONCHATOULA -- Arrangements are incomplete for Robert B. Allen, 69, who died Sunday, Dec. 19, 2004, at his home.

CAMILLA MARIE MACALUSO
CHALMETTE -- Camilla Marie Macaluso, 67, a retired Office Supervisor for Liberty Mutual, died Sunday, Dec. 19, 2004, at Methodist Hospital, New Orleans.
Survivors include her mother, Elizabeth Marie Faldetta Macaluso; a sister, Josephine Elizabeth Macaluso; and three brothers, Salvadore Macaluso, Anthony Macaluso and Philip Macaluso Jr.
Her father, Philip Bernard Macaluso, preceded her in death.
Visitation will be at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue Street, Chalmette, Wednesday from 9 a.m. until noon. The funeral Mass will take place at St. Mark Catholic Church, 3024 Charles Drive, Chalmette, at 12:30 p.m. Burial will be at St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.

PONCHATOULA -- Ned Welles, 22, died Sunday, Dec. 19, 2004, at North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond.

ROBERT BRENT ALLEN
PONCHATOULA -- Robert Brent Allen, 69, died at his home Sunday, Dec. 19, 2004.
A native of Ponchatoula, he was a member of Knights of Columbus Council 4874 of Ponchatoula and a retired foreman from Shell Chemical.
Survivors include his wife, Catherine Schum Allen; a daughter, Karen Allen; three sons, Bobby Allen Jr., Brian Allen and Marvin Allen; his mother, Mary Rose Succow Allen; a sister, Betty Allen Hebert, all of Ponchatoula; four brothers, J.F. Allen Jr. of New Orleans, Dr. Merlin Allen, Virgil Allen and Dr. Melvin Allen, all of Ponchatoula; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
His father, J.F. Allen; and brother, Raymond Allen, preceded him in death.
The Rev. Harvey Blaschko, O.P., conducted a Mass of Christian Burial this morning at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial was in Wadesboro Catholic Cemetery.

FREDDIE BENTON
ROSELAND -- Freddie Benton, 74, a native of Livingston, died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2004.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and a retired Tangipahoa Parish sheriff's deputy.
He is survived by a sister, Jessie Pruter of Los Angeles.
His wife, Mattie Benton, and his parents preceded him in death.
Visitation will be at Richardson Funeral Home of Amite today from 5 to 7 p.m. The Rev. Robert E. Robinson will conduct the funeral Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Mt. Canaan Baptist Church, Arcola, and burial will be in the church cemetery.
JOHN C. BRANNON
John D. Brannon, 38, a native of Baker, died Sunday, Dec. 19, 2004, at North Oaks Medical Center.
Survivors include his mother, Lana Campbell Stanford of Hammond; his father, James Brannon of Zachary; his stepfather, William Stanford of Hammond; his stepmother, Reba Brannon of Zachary; two daughters, Rachel and Misty Stanford; two sons, Carter and Jacob Brannon; a sister, Shannon Forstall; his maternal grandmother, Florence Campbell of Ponchatoula; his paternal grandmother, Lois Newman of Fort Worth, Texas ; a half sister, Sara Brannon; a stepsister, Terri McKamie; and three stepbrothers, Marty Bijou, Greg and Scott Stanford.
He was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Brannon; a sister, Rachel Brannon; his maternal grandfather, the Rev. John Campbell; and his paternal grandfather, James Carter Brannon.
Visitation will be at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home in Hammond Wednesday from 6 until 10 p.m. and Thursday from 8 a.m. until the funeral at 11. Burial will be in Azalea Rest Park Cemetery
in Zachary.
TERRY MAE COGHLAN
Kentwood native Terry Mae Coghlan, 78, died Monday, Dec. 20, 2004, at Sunrise Senior Living at Live Oak Village, Hammond.

FREDERICK JOHN HERZOG
AMITE -- U.S. Navy veteran Frederick John Herzog, 72, died Monday, Dec. 20, 2004, at St. Helena Parish Hospital, Greensburg.
A native of Lexington, Mass., he was a photographer, an artist and a printer.
He is survived by his wife, Katherine Giles Herzog of Amite; three daughters, Connie Landry of Mobile, Ala., Rachel Herzog of Dallas and Cindy Herzog of Amite; one grandchild; and one sister, Elizabeth Jones of Ft. Edward, N.Y.
Visitation will be Wednesday at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, from 10 a.m. until the Rev. Don Campbell conducts the funeral at 1:30 p.m.
Burial will be at Spring Cemetery, Amite.
NED DODGE WELLES
PONCHATOULA -- Ned Dodge Welles, 22, died Sunday, Dec. 19, 2004, at North Oaks Medical Center.
He was a Ponchatoula High School graduate Class of 2000 and a member of Kappa Alpha Order. He enjoyed many years of soccer as a player, as a referee and as graduate assistant coach at Millsaps College in Jackson , Miss.
He is survived by his parents, Sparky and Cathy Ward Wells; a sister, Catie Holland Welles; and his grandmother, Shirley Smith Welles, all of Ponchatoula.
His grandfathers, John Eddy Welles and McVey Ward; and grandmother, Betty Holland Robinson, preceded him in death.
A celebration of his life was held this morning at All Saints Episcopal Church in Ponchatoula with a continuation of the service immediately following at Ponchatoula Beach.
McKneely Funeral Home, Ponchatoula, was in charge.
MARGIE WEST
Margie West, 91, died Saturday, Dec. 18, 2004, at Hammond Nursing Home.
She is survived by her son, Alvin West of Hammond.
Visitation will be at N.A. James Funeral Home Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. The Rev. Willie Gable Jr. will conduct the funeral at Macedonia Baptist Church of Hammond Thursday at 11 a.m., and burial will be in Holly Gardens Cemetery.
