ANDREW JACK PATTERSON

KENTWOOD -- World War II veteran Andrew Jack Patterson, 82, died Friday, Oct. 15, 2004, at Lafayette General Medical Center, Lafayette.

A native of Shawnee, Okla., he was a civil engineer and a Mason.

Survivors include one son, John A. Patterson of Lafayette; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Iris Patterson; two sons, Larry and Robert Patterson; and one half-sister, Connie Mae.

Visitation will be Friday at McKneely Funeral Home, Kentwood, from 1 p.m. until the Rev. Danny Smith conducts the funeral at 2:30.

Burial will be at Spring Creek Cemetery, Spring Creek.

ROSE ANNA MARYLAND PIPES

BATON ROUGE -- The Rev. George Calvin will conduct the funeral Thursday at Jordan United Methodist Church, Baton Rouge, at 11 a.m. for Rose Anna Maryland Pipes.

Visitation will be today from 2 to 8 p.m. at MJR Friendly Service Funeral Home, Denham Springs.

Pipes, 53, a native of Denham Springs, died Sunday, Oct. 17, 2004, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center.

Survivors include her children, Nichelle Pipes Alford and Mikell Pipes, both of Baton Rouge; five sisters, Emma Woods , Shirley Maryland and Christine Talbert, all of Baton Rouge, and Stella Jackson and Ruth Hill, both of Denham Springs; five brothers, Calvin Maryland III and Henry Scott, both of Denham Springs, Eddie W. Maryland of Baton Rouge, the Rev. Leon Maryland of Hammond and Freddie Maryland of Lawton, Okla.; and four grandchildren.

Burial will be at Plainview Cemetery, Denham Springs.

FRANK BOND

Machinist Frank Bond, 57, a native of Picayune, Miss., died Sunday, Oct. 17, 2004, at Lallie Kemp Medical Center, Independence.

He served in the U.S. Air Force, achieving the rank of sergeant.

Survivors include his wife, Jerry E. Palmer Bond of Hammond; one daughter, Rachel Dione Bond of Hammond; two brothers, Ned and Dan Bond, both of Picayune.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Quincey and Elsie Miller Bond; four brothers, Acey, Mack, Jerry and Fred Bond; and five sisters, Maudie B. Albertson, Audie B. Roberts, Lanola B. Page, Beatrice B. Grady and Catherine B. Penton.

Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, is in charge.

CHARLES CUCCHIARA

Charles Cucchiara, 92, died Monday, Oct. 18, 2004, at North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond.

Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond.

ANGEL GUEARY

PONCHATOULA -- Angel Gueary, newborn, died Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2004, at North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond.

Survivors include her mother, Kristalyn "Kristy" Davis Gueary of Ponchatoula; her father, Kerry Gueary of Ponchatoula; two sisters, Brianna and Kerriana Gueary, both of Ponchatoula; her grandmothers, Jean Gordon of Ponchatoula and Mary White of Hammond; and her great-grandmother, Gladys Callahan of Ponchatoula.

Burial was Saturday at Ponchatoula Cemetery. The Rev. Carl Coleman officiated.

Richardson Funeral Home, Hammond, was in charge.

RUBY IRIS COOPER PIERSON

ALBANY -- Ruby Iris Cooper Pierson, 88, died Monday, Oct. 18, 2004, at her home.

She was a member of Blood River Church of God, Springfield.

A native of Albany, she is survived by two daughters, Wanda Bonura of Livingston and Carolyn King of Denham Springs; one son, Billie Jo Pierson of Albany; four sisters, Florence Kinchen of Albany, Gennie Ribette, Clair Campbell and Nell Garon, all of Baton Rouge; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Her husband, John J. Pierson; one sister, Thelma Purvis; two brothers, Cameron Cooper and St. Clair Roy Cooper Jr.; and her parents, St. Clair Cooper and Leathy Ann Starkey, preceded her in death.

Visitation will be Wednesday at Geisler Funeral Home, Albany, from 6 to 10 p.m. and Thursday from 8:30 a.m. until the Rev. Billie Kennedy conducts the funeral at 10 .

Burial will be at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery.

WILLIAM LESLIE MARTENS JR.

William Leslie "Rabbit" Martens Jr., 76, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004, at his home.

A native of Hammond, he is survived by his wife, Audrey Harper Martens; one daughter, Deborah Martens Zapchenk of Hammond; one grandchild; two sisters, Margaret Baker of Mansfield, Ohio, and Jane Townsend of Hammond; and two brothers, Gordon Martens of Natalbany and Luther Martens of Ponchatoula.

His parents, Jessie Wall Martens and William Leslie Martens Sr., preceded him in death.

Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 10 at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, and Thursday from 8 a.m. until the funeral at 11.

Burial will be at Johnson Cemetery.

JOHN D. RAIFORD JR.

PONCHATOULA -- Arrangements are incomplete for John D. Raiford Jr., 81, who died today, Nov. 10, 2004, at North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond.

Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Ponchatoula, is in charge.

LEE DIAMOND SR.

KENTWOOD -- Lee Diamond Sr., 79, died Monday, Nov. 8, 2004, at Kentwood Manor Nursing Home.

A native of Kentwood, he is survived by four sons, Lee Diamond Jr. of Baton Rouge, Stanley and Troy Diamond, both of Independence, and Willie Diamond of Kentwood; three daughters, Eddie Jean Diamond of New Orleans, Malinda and Gloria Diamond, both of Kentwood; 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Dicedine Diamond; four brothers and three sisters.

Visitation will be Friday night at Richardson's Funeral Home, Amite, from 5 to 8. The Rev. Elton Strickland will conduct the funeral Saturday at 11 a.m. at Spring Creek Baptist Church, and burial will follow at the church cemetery.

RICARDO DANIEL DIEZ

INDEPENDENCE -- Ricardo Daniel Diez died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004, at North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond.

He was 2 months and 2 weeks old.

His survivors include his mother, Vilma Diez of Independence; and his maternal grandparents, Ricardo and Blaca Diez of El Salvadore, Central America.

A graveside service will Friday at 9:30 a.m. at Holly Gardens Cemetery, Hammond.

Geisler Funeral Home, Hammond, is in charge.

JAMES L. MITCHELL

SPRINGFIELD -- James L. "Mitch" Mitchell, 41, died Saturday, Nov. 6, 2004, at North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond.

A native of Denham Springs, he was an evangelist and a school bus driver for Livingston Parish School Systems.

Survivors include his wife, Gwendolyn W. Mitchell of Springfield; two daughters, Jamelyn Mitchell and Megan Dyer; a son, Kedron Corio; his mother, Fannie T. Mitchell of Denham Springs; four brothers, Willie "Billy" Mitchell Jr., Jewell Brumfield and Bryan Perry, all of Denham Springs, and Tyrone Perry of Baton Rouge.

He was preceded in death by his father, Willie Mitchell Sr.

Visitation will be Friday from 2 to 8 p.m. at MJR Friendly Service Funeral Home, Denham Springs. The Rev. Carl Coleman, pastor of First True Love World Outreach Ministry, Ponchatoula, will conduct the funeral Saturday at 11 a.m.

Burial will be at St. James Cemetery, Springfield.

LOUIS VALRE' PERRIN JR.

PONCHATOULA -- U.S. Army veteran Louis Valre' Perrin Jr., 76, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2004, at North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond.

He fought during the Korean conflict and was a member of the American Legion Post 47 of Ponchatoula.

Survivors include his daughter, Joshlyn Perrin Jacob of Reserve; two sons, David L. and Brent P. Perrin, both of Ponchatoula; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Elester Perrin; his parents, Louis and Viola Hano Perrin Sr.; two sisters, Cecil and Alda Perrin; and five brothers, Everett, Edward "Bub," Amos, Clyde and a twin brother, Travis Perrin.

Visitation will be tonight at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Ponchatoula, from 6 to 10 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. until the Rev. Stanley Day conducts the funeral at 10.

Burial will be at Ponchatoula Cemetery.
