Diane Holifield Wood

Diane Holifield Wood, 68, Passed away on Monday, June 15, 2009.

She was the beloved wife of Carroll L. Wood III; mother of Elaine W. Litchfield, Leslie W. Bove and C. Lee “Woody” Wood IV; grandmother of Nicholas Bove, Michael Bove, Lilly Bove, Emily Litchfield, Gracie Wood and Hope Wood; sister of June H. Harbison, Curry R. Holifield Jr. and the late Marion H. Riedlinger. Wood was a native of New Orleans and a Mandeville resident for the past 20 years.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral Mass at 1 p.m. today at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home Inc., 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until service time. interment will follow in Metairie Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations to Caring Voice Coalition, 8249 Meadowbridge Road, Mechanicsville, VA 23116.

Bruce Wenck

Bruce Wenck, 59, Passed away at his residence in Mandeville, on Wednesday, June 10, 2009.

Wenck was a native of New Orleans and has lived in Mandeville for the past 8 years. During his professional career he was most recently employed by Horace Mann Insurance Co. as a licensed property and claims adjuster. He was also a reserve deputy with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office until his leave of absence due to illness. In addition to working in emergency management for many years, he also held three honorable discharges from the Navy, Army and Air Force reserve.

He was the beloved husband of TerriLyn B. Wenck; and son of Franklyn and Doris Wenck. He is survived by his five children, Colby Wenck, Alyssa Wenck, Sydney Wenck, Brennan Wenck and Jessica Wenck; and his stepdaughters Jonnielyn Frickey and Kristi Linder. He also leaves behind two precious granddaughters, Kathryne and Addison Wenck; and two stepgrandchildren, Samantha and Ryan Frickey. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Karen Pusateri and Phillip Pusateri; and he was a loving uncle to his niece and nephew, Taryn and Bryan Pusateri.

He was always there to lend a helping hand and will be remembered with love by his family and friends. A memorial service was held Tuesday.

EARL FRANCIS RUSSO, SR.
1915-2008

Earl Francis Russo, Sr. Passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at 2:15 a.m. at the age of 93. Beloved husband of Olga Garcia Russo for 67 years. Son of the late Philip J. Russo, Sr. and Anna Frantz Russo. Loving father of Earl F. Russo, Jr., David P. Russo and Brian R. Russo. Father-in-law of Juanita C. Russo, Linda P. Russo and Carolyn C. Russo. Brother of the late Philip J. Russo, Jr. and Albert C. Russo.

JAMES MARSHALL MAY
1945-2008

James Marshall May, Sr. Passed away on Monday, November 3, 2008 at the age of 63. Beloved husband of Myrtle Mott May. Father of Jimmy, Tim and Chris May of Kentucky. Brother of John May, Peggy Lumas and Marshall May. Services will be held in Kentucky at a later date.

AIDA GRUNDMANN MORENO
1911-2008

Aida Grundmann Moreno, a native of New Orleans and a resident of Houma, LA, Passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2008. Age 97 years. Beloved wife of the late Frank Charles Moreno. Mother of Betty M. Peltier. Mother-in-law of James Hilton Peltier, Sr. Daughter of the late Aida Weber Grundmann and George Grundmann. Sister of Dorothy G. Janssen and the late Weber Grundmann.

WALTER FRANK SCHNELLER, JR.
1919-2008

Walter Frank Schneller, Jr. Passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2008, at the age of 88. He was born December 26, 1919, in New Orleans, Louisiana to Walter F. Schneller, Sr. and Cecilia Staehling Schneller. Mr. Schneller proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He retired as a drafting supervisor in the oil industry after 36 years of dedicated service. Mr. Schneller was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.

ROBERT M. POTTER
1950-2008

Robert Michael Potter, 58, a resident of River Ridge, died on Sunday, November 2, 2008. Born in Oswego, N.Y., he was the son of the late Robert and Lucille (Paloni) Potter. He was a graduate of the Oswego High School and the Calhoun Merchant Marine Academy in Baltimore. He had been a resident of River Ridge for almost 30 years. Mr. Potter had been employed with the Waterman Steamship Company, and later with International Shipholding.

FAUSTINO ESMELE ECLEVIA
1923-2008

Faustino Esmele Eclevia Passed away on Friday, December 5, 2008 at 8:15 PM, age 85. Beloved husband of Catalina deJesus Eclevia. Father of Maria Eclevia and Antonio Eclevia. Brother of Purificacion, Felisa, Manuel and Myles. Uncle of Myles, Jr. William and Mary Fernandez, Vicente and Teresita Trinidad, Rosie de las Alas and children Johnny and Ogie Callejo and children Joel, Ronnie and wife Michelle Callejo, Gail and wife Anna Callejo.

RONALD SMITH LALLY
1939-2008

Ronald S. Lally on Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at 9:00 AM. Beloved husband of the late Florence Watson Lally. Survived by three daughters and a son. Brother of Ralph Lally and the late Woodrow Lally and Lynn Lally. Mr. Lally was a member of Masonic Lodge # 367 and a former New Orleans Police Officer, a former Orleans Parish Levee Board Officer and a Jefferson Parish Levee Board Officer. He also served in the U S Navy.

ROBERT L. THOMPSON
1931-2008

Robert Lonnie Thompson, age 77, a resident of Covington, Louisiana , Passed away at his home on December 3, 2008, due to complications from a stroke. Born on August 21, 1931, in New Orleans, he is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Mercedes (“Sugar”) Castillo; his children Mona Thompson Vinturella and husband Alan, Robert L. Thompson Jr., Constance Elizabeth Thompson-Fly and husband Charles, Sylvia Thompson Wyche and husband Timothy.

GEORGE DEWITT MILLER, JR.
1925-2008

George Dewitt Miller, Jr. went home to be with the Lord late Tuesday night, December 2nd at the age of 83. George was a man of strong moral character and incredible work ethic who always put others above himself. He always had a kind word to give and a joke to tell to anyone he came in contact with. George was a Godly man who loved Jesus and never shyed away from sharing the word of The Good Lord with those who crossed his path.

Hilda Martin Rangel, age 96, Passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2009. Beloved wife of the late David J. Rangel. Daughter of the late Alejandro and Sofia Martin. Mother of Miguel A. Rangel. Mother-in-law of Terrie N. Rangel. Sister of the late Rosa, Maria, Olga and Raul Martin. Grandmother of Michael Rangel, Christine R. Ackerman and Daniel LaVie. Great-grandmother of Luke and Kate Ackerman.

CECILE SYLVAS LEGEAUX
1939-2009

Cecile “Sis” Sylvas LeGeaux, age 69, Passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2009. Beloved Wife of the late Woodrow J. Le Geaux; Mother of Troy LeGeaux, Chris LeGeaux and to wife Sheri. Grandmother of Jennifer LeGeaux and to Bryan Ceccato. Also survived and fondly remembered by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. She will be deeply missed by her family and by all those whose lives she touched.
