Joseph C. Romero
Loving father and grandfather
Funeral services for Joseph "J.C." C. Romero, 73, will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with the Rev. Michael Guidry officiating.
Entombment will be in Memorial Park Mausoleum with military graveside rites conducted by the VFW Post 1982 of New Iberia.
Visitation will continue until 9 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at David Funeral Home, which will reopen Thursday from 8 a.m. until the time of services.
A native of Burke and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Romero died at 7 p.m. Monday, March 31, 2003, at Dauterive Hospital.
Mr. Romero was an usher at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and a volunteer at Dauterive Hospital. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the American Legion Post 365 of Lydia.
He retired as an insurance agent with Commonwealth Life Insurance Company and worked in the insurance business for more than 30 years.
He is survived by five sons, Gene Romero and his wife, Marsha Romero, and Audie, Todd and Stacey Romero, all of New Iberia, and Roddy Romero of Lafayette; three daughters, Vickie Lasserre and Kelly Romero, both of New Iberia, and Marlo LeCamus and her husband, Kevin LeCamus, of Broussard; one brother, Ryan Romero of Vidor, Texas ; three sisters, Lelia Vallot of Lake Charles, and Ida Naomi and Nina Morris, both of Port Arthur, Texas ; and seven grandchildren.
Mr. Romero was preceded in death by his wife, Aline Delahoussaye Romero; his parents, Joseph and Marie Comeaux Romero; his brother, Dewey Romero; and his sisters, Ora Theriot, Idel Mckinseck, Gloria Reeves and Bertha Romero.
Pallbearers will be Gene, Audie, Roddy, Todd, Stacey and Ryan Romero.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ryan, Jason, Joshua and Sage Romero, and Colby Lasserre.

Irene D. G. Robin
Funeral services for Irene Gray Robin, 86, the former Irene David, will begin at 2 p.m. today at David Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Donavon Labbe' and Rev. Raymond Robitaile officiating. interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will continue until the time of services today at the funeral home.
A native of Iberia Parish and resident of Rynella, Mrs. Robin died at 5:20 a.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2003, at Consolata Nursing Home.
Mrs. Robin was a bank teller at New Iberia National Bank for 20 years and was a member of the Ladies Altar Society. She enjoyed playing cards in the Ladies Card Club and loved being with her family.
She is survived by her son, Glenn D. Gray and his wife, Louisa Gray, of Rynella; her grandchildren, Michelle Gray Evans and her husband, Bo Evans, of Rynella, and Charlie Gray and his wife, Marcy Gray, of Houston; her great-grandchildren, Claire and Caleb Evans, both of Rynella; and her sister-in-law, Ann David of Rynella.
Mrs. Robin was preceded in death by her parents, Alphonse and Malvina Deslatte David; her first husband, Glenn W. Gray; her second husband, Marcel "Mac" Robin; her brother, Lory David; her sisters, Mae D. Dionne and Lorraine D. LaBauve; and her niece, Mary Ann David.
Pallbearers will be family members.

Irene T. Romero
DELCAMBRE - Funeral services for Mrs. St. Cyr Romero, 82, the former Irene Toups, will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with the Rev. Herb Bennerfield officiating. interment will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will continue until 10 p.m. today with a 5:30 p.m. rosary at Evangeline Funeral Home, which will reopen Thursday from 8 a.m. until the time of services.
A native of Vermilion Parish and resident of Delcambre, Mrs. Romero died at 9:29 a.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2003, at Abbeville General Hospital.
She is survived by two sons, Nelson Romero and his wife, Maudry D. Romero, of New Iberia, and Johnny Romero and his wife, Lona S. Romero, of Erath; her daughter, Shirley Dubois and her husband, Raywood, of Henry; Murphy Romero and Emilda Lebouef of New Iberia, whom she raised; her brother, Emery Toups of Independence; her sister, Viola "Pun" Lopez of Coteau; eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Romero was preceded in death by her husband, St. Cyr Romero; and her parents, Duas and Leana Desormeaux Toups.
Pallbearers will be Nelson, Brent, Wiley and Rufus Romero, Henry Kasperski and Duff Renard.

Anthony Lombardo
FRANKLIN - Funeral services for Anthony Lombardo, 94, will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at Church of Assumption with the Rev. Michael Russo officiating. interment will be in Franklin Cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 6-9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary by Deacon Douglas Hebert at Ibert's Mortuary and will resume at the church Thursday from 8 a.m. until the time of services.
A native and resident of Franklin, Mr. Lombardo died at 5:05 a.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2003, at Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City.
He is survived by his daughter, Toni Marie Cossey of Franklin; his daughter-in-law, AnnEtta Barber Lombardo of Berwick; his son-in-law, Don Michael Hidalgo of Houma; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Mr. Lombardo was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Palumbo Lombardo; his son, Leon Anthony Lombardo Sr.; his daughter, Joanne Lombardo Hidalgo; his parents, Leonardo and Rose Sacco Lombardo; his brothers, Joseph, Marion and Louis Lombardo; and his sisters, Vita Lombardo Battaglia, Catherine Lombardo Maggio and Rose Lombardo.

Jacqueline D. Porter
ST. MARTINVILE - Services for Mrs. Jacqueline Porter, 50, the former Jacqueline Decuir, will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at Notre Dame Catholic Church with the Rev. Thomas Mullally officiating. interment will be in the Queen of Peace Cemetery.
A native of New Iberia and a resident of St. Martinville for 33 years, Mrs. Porter died Thursday, April 3, 2003, at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge following a lengthy illness.
She is survived by her husband, John Porter of St. Martinville; her mother, Mae Garrett of New Iberia; three daughters, Felicia and Antionette Porter, both of St. Martinville, and Dinello Porter of Baker; her brother Herbert Garrett of Broussard; two step-brothers, Ricky Decuir and William Cormier, both of New Iberia; four sisters, Augustine D. Wilson, Mildred Narcisse, Sarah Ledet and Nancy Johnson , all of New Iberia; two step-sisters, Wendy Hunry of New Iberia and Marilyn Bodan of Beaumont, Texas ; and five grandchildren.
Mrs. Porter was preceded in death by her father, August Decuir; her step-father, Nolan Garrett; her paternal grandmother, Julie William; her maternal grandmother, Hilda Johnson ; her great niece, Tatyana Ledet; and her brother-in-law, Kenneth Johnson .
Pallbearers will be Wilson Allen, Allen Porter, Wendell Garrett, Johanthan Charles, Warren Lewis and Dennis Decuir.

Violet C. Broussard
Services for Mrs. Elmo Broussard, 93, the former Violet Castex, were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Paul Onuegbe officiating. interment was held at the St. Joseph Cemetery.
A native of Parks and a resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Broussard died at 7:35 a.m. Friday, April 4, 2003, at the Consolata Nursing Home in New Iberia.
A homemaker, Mrs. Broussard loved cooking, sewing and crocheting.
She is survived by her daughter, Madeline B. and her husband Wallace Goudeau of Loreauville; her sister, Lee "Luna" Thibodeaux of Breaux Bridge; two grandsons, Shane and Chris Goudeau of Loreauville; two granddaughters, Beth and Garneth Goudeau of Loreauville; and her great-granddaughter, Kaitlyn Romero of Loreaville.
Mrs. Broussard was preceded in death by her husband, Elmo Broussard; her parents Bertrand and Laura Roy Castex; four brothers, Clarence, Garland, Harvey and Nolan Castex; and her sister Dee Thibodeaux.
Pallbearers will be Shane and Chris Goudeau, Benny Mora, Mark and Clark Thibodeaux and Lennet Castex.

Elinda R. Babineaux
COTEAU - The services for Mrs. Clarence A. Babineaux, 87, the former Elinda Romero, will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church with the Rev. Matthew Higginbotham officiating. interment will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3-9 p.m. today, with a 6:30 p.m. rosary at the church, which will reopen at 8 a.m., Monday until the time of services.
A native and resident of Coteau, Mrs. Babineaux died at 4:40 a.m. Saturday, April 5, 2003, at New Iberia Manor North Nursing Home.
Mrs. Babineaux was a volunteer at ARC of New Iberia, was a religion teacher and a member of the Ladies Altar Society at our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church for many years.
She is survived by her husband, Clarence A. Babineaux; her son, Clarence J. "C.J." Babineaux, both of Coteau; two daughters, Sherry B. Romero and Betty Jane Babineaux, both of Coteau; six grandchildren, Clarence P. and Rodrick Babineaux, Teresa Olivier, Courtney Sheen and Steven and Ryan Romero; and eight great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Babineaux was preceded in death by her parents, Parfait J. and Elina Romero and her grandson, Wendell Babineaux.
Pallbearers will be Clarence P., Rodrick and Bobby J. Babineaux, James Olivier and Steven J. and Ryan Romero.
Honorary pallbearers will be Linda Creasey, Howard "Butch" Dautreuil and Shelby Romero.
The family would like to thank Concepts of Care Home Health, Hospice of Acadiana and the staff of New Iberia Manor Nursing Home for the care given to Mrs. Babineaux.

Teriontae L. Johnson
BELLE PLACE -Services for Teriontae Lajaunya Johnson , four days old, were held at 1 p.m., Friday, April 4, at St. John Baptist Cemetery
with the Rev. O'Neal Davis officiating.
Johnson died Thursday, April 3, 2003, at the Women's and Children's Hospital.
He is survived by his parents, Marcus Johnson Sr. and Teri L. Gibson, both of New Iberia; his brother, Terion Lawon Gibson; and a sister, Teriyonna Lajaunna Johnson , both of New Iberia.
