Beth May Beach, 72, a resident of Patterson, Passed away in Morgan City Feb. 21, 2005. She was born in New Orleans May 19, 1934, to Horace Beach and May Beach.
She worked for the Social Security office in New Orleans for more than 25 years.
She is survived by her sister, Ellen Ruiz and her husband, Dr. Hector Ruiz, of Morgan City; her nieces, Mary Ellen Stegall of Lafayette, Teresa Hebert Clark of Pensacola, Fla., and Leslie Merrett of New Orleans; her nephew, Gregory Ruiz of Mandeville; Hildy, her faithful canine companion; and a host of relatives and friends.
A time of remembrance and reflection will be observed Thursday, Feb. 24, 2005, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Morgan City from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. A Mass will be conducted at 11 a.m. at Holy Cross on Thursday.
Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City has been entrusted with the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Patterson Health Care Center, 910 Lia Street, Patterson, LA 70392.

Lucy Newton Deslatte, 84, a native of Baldwin and resident of Centerville for more than 60 years, died Saturday at 6:33 p.m. at Dauterive Hospital in New Iberia.
She is survived by four sons, Royce Deslatte of Charenton, David Deslatte, Kim Deslatte and Kelly Deslatte, all of Centerville; two daughters, Linda Hanberry of Picayune, Miss., and Celeste Ibert of Lafayette; one brother, Herbert Newton, of Baldwin; one sister, Ava Shugart of Picayune, Miss., 16 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two daughters and her parents.
Memorial visitation will be observed Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Centerville. A memorial Mass will begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Private interment will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church for Masses said.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary Inc., Franklin.

Sister Mary Andrew, 96, the former Leona Elizabeth Songe, died Monday, April 4, at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Nursing Home in Opelousas.
The daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. O. Songe, she was a 1929 graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She entered Holy Cross Convent in 1931.
She is survived by many relatives.
Visitation was today at Holy Angels on North Rampart in New Orleans with a funeral Mass following.
interment was at Our Lady of Holy Cross on Woodland Drive.

Sharon Gayle White , 50, a native of Rayville and resident of Berwick, died Monday, April 25, 2005, at 10:30 p.m. at Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City.
Ms. White battled breast cancer for the last five years. She lived strong and never gave up.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed Thursday, April 28, 2005, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Ibert’s Mortuary in Patterson.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 28, 2005, at 1 p.m. at Ibert’s Mortuary, with Monsignor Richard Greene officiating. interment will follow in Ibert’s Memorial Park Cemetery in Patterson.
She is survived by two daughters, Lauren Nicole Burns of Slidell and Crystal Laurenne Bowden of Slidell; her mother, Alice McAdams White of Morgan City; six brothers, Oscar White Jr. of Bayou Pigeon, James David White of Walker, Archie Lee White of Morgan City, Jimmie W. White of Amelia, Larry J. White of Richardson, Texas , and Richard White of Morgan City; four sisters, Loraine W. Jarreau of Baton Rouge, Ethel M. White of Morgan City, Mary W. Theriot of Berwick and Alice F. Adams of Bayou Vista; two special nephews, Beau Theriot and Jason Theriot; Lauren’s fiance’ Lyles Hartmannn of Slidell and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Pat Burns, and her father, Oscar White Sr.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Acadiana Affiliate, 211 Republic Ave., Suite 627, Lafayette, LA 70508, phone (337) 993-5745.

Donna Jo Melvin Sides, 49, of Double Springs, Ala., Passed away May 11, 2005, in an auto accident. She was a secretary at Posturecraft Mattress Co. in Double Springs.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, May 14, 2005, from Nichols Funeral Home chapel in Double Springs, Ala. Burial was in Williamsburg Baptist Church Cemetery in Collins, Miss., with the Rev. Mark Johnson officiating.
Survivors include her former husband, Tommy Sides of Nauvoo, Ala.; her mother, Della Rawls Melvin of Collins, Miss.; two daughters, Kara Sides and boyfriend, Stanley Miller, and Sloan Sides, all of Double Springs, Ala.; one brother, Charles Melvin and his wife, Vickie, of Patterson; one sister, Lonnie Melvin of Oklahoma City, Okla.; one grandchild, Alec Sides; paternal grandparents, Gary and Lottie Melvin; maternal grandparents, William and Trannie Rawls; and one niece, Christan Napier.
She was preceded in death by her father, William “Bill” Melvin.
Arrangements were by Nichols Funeral Home in Double Springs, Ala., (205) 489-5139.

Michael Joseph Bordelon, 37, a native and longtime resident of Bayou Vista, died Tuesday, May 10, 2005, at The Brook Army Medical Center in Fort Sam Houston, Texas .
First Sergeant Michael Bordelon served in the National Guard for two years and in the United States Army for 15 years.
Michael is survived by his wife of 10 years, Milalona “Mila” R. Bordelon; his father, Bruce Louis Bordelon of Bayou Vista; his mother, Dolores Ann Rivera Bordelon of Bayou Vista; two sons, Michael Louis Bordelon of Youngsville and Jacob M. Bordelon of Tacoma, Wash.; one daughter, Johannah M. Bordelon of Tacoma, Wash.; one sister, Doreen Scioneaux and her husband, Jason, of Morgan City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.
The family requests that visitation be held on Friday, May 20, 2005, at St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Bayou Vista from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., with an 11 a.m. rosary.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 4 p.m. Friday at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, with Monsignor Richard Greene officiating. interment will be held Monday, May 23, 2005, at 11 a.m. in the Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary Inc. in Patterson (985-395-7873).

Raymond J. Boudreaux Sr.
August 6, 1927 — May 12, 2005
Raymond Joseph Boudreaux Sr., 77, a native of Morgan City and resident of New Iberia, died Thursday, May 12, 2005, at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette.
He was the son of the late Joseph Boudreaux and the late Emilda (Sullivan) Boudreaux.
He is survived by two daughters, Adria Lee Harris and her husband, John, and Angela Boudreaux, all of Morgan City; one son, Raymond Boudreaux Jr. and his wife, Penny, of New Iberia; one sister, Irene Wilbur of Franklin; three brothers, Harold Boudreaux and his wife, Mary, and Elwood Boudreaux and his wife, Betty, all of Morgan City, and Vernice Boudreaux of Jeanerette; and five grandchildren, Betty Jo Giroir, Leo Thompson, Debra Glenn, Levita Boudreaux and Josiah Boudreaux.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife of over 40 years, Levita Mary Theriot Boudreaux.
The family received friends from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. today, May 16, 2005, at Twin City Funeral Home in Morgan City. Graveside services were at the Morgan City Cemetery at 1 p.m. today, May 16, 2005, with the Rev. David Willoughby officiating.

Nelwyn B. Jones, 72, a native and resident of Morgan City, died Thursday at 8:44 p.m. at Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church in Morgan City.
Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in the Morgan City Mausoleum.
She is survived by her husband, Rudolph Jones of Morgan City; three sons, Keith Jones of Cutoff, and Guy Jones and Patrick Jones, both of Morgan City; three sisters, Betty Jacquet and Patricia Hawkins, both of Morgan City, and Marva Madise of Berwick; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many other family members and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, a sister-in-law and a sister.
Jones Funeral Home in Morgan City is in charge of arrangements.

Eric “Early” Paul Justilien, 39, was born June 19, 1965, and died Friday morning, May 13, 2005, in Morgan City.
Survivors include his mother, Brenda Compton of Lafayette; his father, Roy Justilien of Lafayette; his stepfather, Cecil Perry of Lafayette; one sister, Beth Bourque of Bayou Vista; one brother, Lance Justilien of Morgan City; his godchild, Mandy Humphreys of Lafayette; a nephew, Brandon Mayon of Bayou Vista; a niece, Amber Faulkner of Lynchburg, Va.; two great-nephews, Brendan Humphreys and Brice Humphreys, both of Lafayette; one great-niece, Riley Faulkner of Virginia; his uncle, Jimmy Bledsoe of Morgan City; and two aunts, Pat McKeehan of Biloxi, Miss., and Juanita Faulk of Kaplan.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Sally Bosaw; his paternal grandmother, Delpha Justilien; and his great-grandmother, Corey Harris.
“Early” was a cherished son, brother and friend who lived his life to its fullest and who will be remembered and loved by all who knew him.
A native of Morgan City and a resident of Biloxi, Miss., since 1992, “Early” was employed with the Branch Electric Co. as an electrician.
Justilien’s remains will be cremated. Memorial contributions may be made to the Eric P. Justilien Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 92311, Lafayette, LA 70509.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Martin & Castille Funeral Home in Lafayette.

Rufus E. Hill Jr., 56, a native of Bay St. Louis, Miss., and resident of Berwick, died Tuesday, May 10, at Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Robisheaux Hill of Berwick; one son, Robert Hill of Berwick; one daughter, Aline Verdon of Bay St. Louis, Miss.; two sisters, Margaret Cuevas and Lori Lightell, both of Bay St. Louis, Miss.; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Benny officiating.

Alice Amelia DeRouen Shannon
August 14, 1918 — May 16, 2005
Alice DeRouen Shannon, 86, a native of New Iberia and resident of Morgan City, died Monday, May 16, 2005, at Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City.
Alice was an active member of the community, serving on boards and volunteering with many organizations. She was also a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
She was the daughter of the late Numa DeRouen and the late Emma Johnson DeRouen.
She is survived by her four daughters, Mary S. Eues and her husband, Kirk, and Alice S. Guzzetta, all of Morgan City, Elizabeth Shannon of New Orleans, and Ruth S. Madere and her husband, Ronald, of Luling; and one brother, Philip DeRouen of Houston.
She is also survived by six grandchildren, Jameson Taylor and his wife, Jennifer, of Front Royal, Va., Alison Guagliardo and her husband, Sam, of Morgan City, Chris Madere of Houston, Jason Madere and Alyson Johnson of Dallas, Jessica Eues of Baton Rouge, and Jenny Eues of New York; one great-grandchild, Shannon Guagliardo of Morgan City; and a loving niece, Sheryl Babineaux Cross of Mandeville.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 49 years, Thomas Bodin Shannon; three sisters and seven brothers.
The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday, May 19, 2005, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Morgan City with a rosary to be said at 10 a.m.
Funeral services will be at the church at noon, Thursday, May 19, 2005, with Father Benny officiating, assisted by Father H.J. Adams and Deacon Kenneth Waguespack assisting. interment will be in the Morgan City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be directed to Sacred Heart Bereavement Committee or St. Mary Outreach.
Twin City Funeral Home in Morgan City has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.
