Cindy Ann Bercegeay Arceneaux

Cindy Ann Bercegeay Arceneaux, 31, a native of Terrebonne Parish and former resident of Houma, died Saturday, Oct. 2, 1999 in Liberty, Miss.

Visitation will be from 2 to 10 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at Chauvin Funeral Home. The Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mass will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Duck Cemetery in Liberty, Miss.

She is survived by her husband, Lawrence Arceneaux Jr. of Liberty, Miss.; her parents, Manuel and Margaret Duck Bercegeay of Liberty; two daughters, Amanda Marie and Chelsea Ann Arceneaux, both of Liberty; one brother, Tony Bercegeay of Houma; and her grandparents, Guy Bercegeay of Gonzales, and Louise Duck of Liberty.

She was a bookkeeper for General Business Service.

Mark Peter Babin Sr.

Mark Peter Babin Sr., 80, a native of Ashland and resident of Houma, died at 3:21 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, 1999.

Visitation was scheduled from 10 a.m. to funeral time today at Chauvin Funeral Home. Mass was scheduled for 1 p.m. today at the funeral home, with interment in Terrebonne Memorial Park Cemetery.

He is survived by two sons, Dale and Mark Babin Jr., both of Houma; three daughters, Jane Huson of Canton, Texas , Sally Jannise of Katy, Texas , and Penny Pitre of Houma; 14 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Agnes Porche Babin; his parents, John and Bernice Hebert Babin; one brother, Pete Babin; one sister, Eneil Babin Rochelle; and one grandson; Dale Babin Jr.

He was a retired mechanic for Chromolloy, a U.S. Air Force World War II veteran and a parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

Clyde Joseph Bellow

Clyde Joseph Bellow, 71, a native and resident of Vacherie, died at 4 a.m. Monday, Oct. 4, 1999.

Visitation will be from 7 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at St. James Catholic Church. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Violet Herdzick Bellow; two sons, Jimmy and Kim Bellow; one daughter, Mrs. Edward J. (Debra B.) Rodrigue; one sister, Lois B. Lacoste; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry J. and Louise Fabre Bellow.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a parishioner of St. James Catholic Church.

Josephine Marie "Poo-Loo" Crochet Bourg

Josephine Marie "Poo-Loo" Crochet Bourg, 87, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of Montegut, died Monday, Oct. 4, 1999.

Visitation will be from 5 to 10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at Montegut Fire Station. Mass will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with burial in the church cemetery.

She is survived by two sons, Wilman and Terry Bourg, both of Montegut; two daughters, Mrs. Iry (Shirley) Blanchard of Montegut, and Mrs. Russell (Sally) Neil of Chauvin; two brothers, Ernest and Joseph "T-Nuk" Crochet, both of Montegut; four sisters, Beatrice Trahan, Rose Bourg and Shirley Smith, all of Montegut, and Gertie Johnson of Houma; 23 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Venus "Nis" Joseph Bourg; her parents, James and Alexina Price Crochet; one son, Thaddeus Bourg; four brothers, Walter, Wickliff, Henry and Paul Crochet; one grandson, Rodney Bourg; and one great-grandson, Lane Michael Lapeyrouse.

She was a homemaker and a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Rita Badeaux Crochet

Rita Badeaux Crochet, 77, a native of Gibson and resident of Houma, died at 5:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 4, 1999.

Visitation will be from 7 to 10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral, with interment in Magnolia Cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, Harry P. Crochet of Houma; one son, Donald H. Crochet of Houma; three brothers, Alphonse and Charles Badeaux, both of Houma, and R.J. Badeaux of Baton Rouge; three sisters, Mrs. Hayes (Judith) Whitney of Houma, Mrs. Ralph (Josephine) Dickson of Alton, Ill., and Mrs. Johnnie (Joyce) Butler of Houston, Texas ; one grandson, Alan Crochet; two granddaughters, Kelly Jo Crochet and Lauren Ann Naquin; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Apolenear R. and Josephine Bourgeois Badeaux; one son, David Paul Crochet; one brother, Enos A. Badeaux; and one sister, Carline Dupont Palmer.

She was a retired bookkeeper and a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral.

Emeline Bazet Davis

Emeline Bazet Davis, 94, a native and lifelong resident of Houma, died at 5:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 4, 1999.

Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with interment in Terrebonne Memorial Park Cemetery.

She is survived by two sons, retired Army Lt. Col. John H. Davis Jr. and Ovide J. Davis; one daughter, Mildred Davis Labbe; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Davis Sr.; her parents, Ovide and Agnes Worzlow Bazet; her grandparents, Bernard Filhucan and Ernestine Theriot Bazet; one son, Bernard B. Davis; and three brothers, Randolph, Ovide and Victor Bazet.

She was the granddaughter of the founder of the Courier, Bernard Filhucan Bazet. Her late husband was an aerial photographer in Terrebonne Parish for many years.

Her hobbies and lifelong interests were nature painting, bird watching and gardening. She was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral.

Mary Cornelia Malikowski Wood

Mary Cornelia Malikowski Wood, 88, a native of Monroe and resident of Houma, died Saturday, Oct. 2, 1999.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Roy (JoAnn Wood) Hicks and Mary O'Delle Wood Lyons; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus O'Dell Wood; one son-in-law, James Bernard Lyons; and two great-grandchildren, not named.

She was a parishioner of St. Bernadette Catholic Church.

Francis S. "Frank" Barrett

Francis S. "Frank" Barrett, 78, native of Saltillo, Miss., and resident of Houma, died at 11:34 p.m. Monday, Oct. 11, 1999.

He is survived by his wife, Norma "Tot" Hargon Barrett; five sons, Richard, James G., Jon, Daniel and Dennis Barrett; three daughters, Rachel and Bridget Barrett and Theresa Sweat; two brothers, Edmond and Robert Barrett; three sisters, Rosemary Larkin, Virginia Bishop and Sister Regina Barrett; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edmond T. and Rose Allen Barrett; and two brothers, Joseph and James L. Barrett.

He was a retired teacher, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, a member of the Louisiana Retired Teachers Association, a member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 9338, a member of the Fourth Degree Council No. 2322, a member of the St. Anthony parish council and a parishioner of St. Anthony Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of South Louisiana or E.W.T.N.

Raymond Paul Chauvin

Raymond Paul Chauvin, 72, a native of Boudreaux Canal and resident of Houma, died at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, 1999.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Mass will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church, with interment in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Jacqueline Boquet Chauvin of Houma; three sons, Jerome Chauvin and wife, Barbara, of Kenner, Jonathan Chauvin and wife, Debra, of Houma, and Kenneth Chauvin and wife, Terri, of Houma; two daughters, Mrs. David (Christine) Daigneault of Houma, and Mrs. Bryan (Susan Anne) Ensley of Duson; two brothers, Ranny Chauvin and wife, Rene, and Roy Peter Chauvin, all of Houma; two sisters, Rhea Marie Babin and Ruth Theresa Champagne, both of Houma; and 11 grandchildren, Benjamin and Allison Daigneault, both of Houma, Alanna, Adam, Jude and Amie Chauvin, all Houma, Krista and Michelle Chauvin, both of Kenner, and Amanda, Thomas and Jessica Ensley of Duson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Arnold and Marguerite "Leona" Kieff Chauvin; and one brother, Reynold Chauvin.

He was a retired safety supervisor for Halliburton after 43 years, a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War, a member for 35 years of the Knights of Columbus, Bishop John N. Neumann Council No. 5545 and a charter member and past Grand Knight and district deputy of the Knights of Columbus.

He served as director at the state level and as past Faithful Navigator of Adrian J. Caillouet Assembly of the Fourth Degree Order of the Knights of Columbus. He was also a charter member and served as Grand Chamberlain of Alhambra Tarragona Caravan No. 245.

He was a member of the Holy Name Society, a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, a member of Jubilee Choir, a member of Les Amis Choir, a supporter of the Right to Life, an usher, a Eucharistic minister, a C.C.D. teacher and a parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Holy Rosary Catholic Church in memory of Raymond P. Chauvin.
