Clifton Maurice Dupont
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 26, 2005, at a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Catholic Church for Clifton Maurice Dupont, 80, who died Sunday, May 22, 2005, in Lafayette.
Entombment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery #2 Mausoluem.
Survivors include two sons, Wayne Dupont, of Houston, Texas , and Tom Dupont, of Dallas, Texas ; five daughters, Diana Howard, of Atlanta, Ga., Susie Dupont, of Scott, Mary Courville, of Baton Rouge, Janice John and husband Lance, of Rayne, and Joan Thibodeaux and husband Reggie, of Rayne; one brother, Edward Dupont, of Bayou Vista; one sister, Winona Scott, of Austin, Texas ; 20 grandchildren, and four greatgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Adolph Dupont and Regina Breaux Dupont; four brothers, Albert, Ernist, Harry, Murphy Lee Dupont; three sisters, Lorena Dejean, Hazel Dupont, and Ida Grimes.
Mr. Dupont was born in Riceville, La. and was a resident of Rayne for most of his life. He served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Rayne Lions Club for many years.
Cliff was well known business owner and operator of Dupont Manufacturers for over 30 years. In his early buisness years he manufactured cattle chutes, boat doors, hatches and rice driers. He enjoyed spending weekends at his Toledo Bend resort with family and friends.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
The family requested that the visiting hours be observed on Wednesday 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. and on Thursday from 8 a.m. until service time.
Arrangements were entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home Inc. of Rayne.

Catherine T. Stamm
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 21, 2005, at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley for Catherine Toon Stamm, 83, who died May 18, 2005,at her residence in Crowley following a long battle with colon cancer.
Rev. Bob Hollis officiated for the services.
interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Stamm was a native of Crowley and former resident of Rayne. She was a 45-year employee of the Supreme Rice Mill. Mrs. Stamm was a former member of the Three Ten Club and the Rayne Garden Club.
She is survived by her husband, Steve M. Stamm of Crowley; one son, Paul E. Fremaux of Metairie; two stepchildren, Steve Gary Stamm of Baton Rouge, and Susan S. Kuhlmann of Prairieville; two sisters, Barbara T. Geesey of Crowley, and Mary Ruth T. Newton of The Woodlands, Texas ; and two grandchildren, Brian and Christopher Fremaux.
Mrs. Stamm is preceded in death by her parents, J.L. Toon and Lilliam Lyons Toon Bartell.
Visitation was observed Friday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. until the time of service at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home in Crowley.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Acadiana: 2600 Johnston St. Ste. 200, Lafayette, LA 70503-3240.
Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home of Crowley was in charge of arrangements.

Edward John Prejean, Jr.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2005, at a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Catholic Church for Edward John Prejean, Jr., 81, who died May 21, 2005, at his residence in Crowley.
Entombment was in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoluem in Crowley.
Survivors include his wife, Bertha Barbier Prejean, of Crowley; two daughters, June Schmid, of Lafayette, and Phyllis Crawford, of Rayne; two sons, Bob Prejean, of Jennings, and Michael Prejean, of Rayne; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Joseph Prejean and Clarise Viator Prejean; one sister, Helen Moore; and one brother, Elton Prejean.
A roasry was recited at 7:00 p.m. Monday.
The family requested that the visiting hours be observed on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. until service time.
Arrangements were entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home Inc. of Rayne.

Hershel Richard
BRANCH –– Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2005, in Elizabeth Memorial Baptist Church, with the Rev. Brian Hoteling officiating, for Hershel Richard, 78, of Branch, who died at 6:05 p.m. Monday, May 23, 2005, in Crowley’s American Legion Hospital.
Burial was in Elizabeth Memorial Cemetery in Branch.
Visitation was observed Tuesday, May 24, from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. and Wednesday, from 8 a.m. until time of services at Elizabeth Memorial Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Lorella (Bea) Richard, of Branch; one son and his wife, Jay and Mel Richard, of Branch; one daughter and her husband, Diane and Wyatt Gilbert, of Branch; two sisters, Mary Leger and Edith Wyatt, both of Branch; four grandchildren, Ashlie Moore, Brandon and Jessie Gilbert and Taylor Richard; and two great-grandchildren, Dax Moore and Beau Moore.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Maddeline Matte and Walter Richard; three brothers, Leslie, Hillman, and Westley Richard; and one sister, Lena Richard.
He was a member of Elizabeth Memorial Baptist Church in Branch.
Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne was in charge of funeral arrangements.

May Prejean Breaux
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 18, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church for May Prejean Breaux, 91, who died Sunday, May 15, 2005, at the American Legion Hospital in Crowley.
Survivors include seven daughters, Brunella Potier of Scott, Audrey and Raleigh Miller of Iota, Roudel Meaux and Ralan Rozas of Basile, Bercie and John Alleman of Duson, Earline and Gerald Miller of Eunice, Gloria Sanchez of Duson, and Linda and Raylin Alleman of Rayne; two sisters, Mary June Prejean of Rayne, and Effie Thibodeaux of Lafayette; 22 grandchildren, 29 greatgrandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Benton “Ban” Breaux; parents Valerin and Althea Prejean; son-in-law, Dudley Potier; grandchild, Kelvin Meaux; two brothers, Francis and Raoul Prejean; and three sisters, Loycie Prejean, Lillie Savoie, and Ludy Terro.
Mrs. May will be remembered for the way she always opened her home to family and friends and for her delicious cooking and baking (cinnamon rolls). She was a great example of a Mother’s love in the way she always put her family before herself. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Pallbearers were her 11 grandsons, Duane Potier, Kevin Potier, Edgar Credeur, Ricky Meaux, Dion Alleman, Jody Alleman, Andrew Tate, Wyatt Tate, Benton Tate, Jonathan Sanchez, and Ryan Alleman.
Visitation was observed Tuesday, May 17, 2005, from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m., with a rosary recited at 7:00 p.m., and Wednesday, May 18, 2005, fron 8:00 a.m. until services.
Burial was in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Gossen Funeral Home of Rayne.

Eddy Istre
NUNEZ – Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 18, 2005, at a 1 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Eddy Istre, 69, who died May 16, 2005, at his home in Kaplan.
He was laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with the Rev. Lloyd Benoit, Jr., officiating the services.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Earline Istre of Nunez; two sons, Randall Istre and his wife Rachel of Judice and Keith Istre and his wife Shamayne of Meaux; two daughters, Donna Istre of Nunez and Kim and her husband, Timmy Harrington of Meaux; his mother, Eunice Leger of Rayne; three brothers, Alex Istre and Adam Istre, both of Rayne, and Raymond Istre of Kaplan; one sister, Cloma Griffin of Kaplan; four grandchildren, Scottie Montet of Kaplan, Amanda Istre of Judice, Cody Istre of Judice and Kristyn Harrington of Meaux; and one great-grandchild, Sabian Jude Montet of Kaplan.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Istre.
The family observed vistation Tuesday, May 17, from 9 a.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. and Wednesday, May 18, from 8 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. when the procession will depart for the church.
All funeral arrangements were conducted by Vincent Funeral Home of Kaplan.

Brenda M. Holloway
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 17, 2005, at 2 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Brenda Menard Holloway, 48, who died Saturday, May 14, 2005, at a Lafayette hospital.
Survivors include her husband, Ernest Holloway Jr., of Rayne; one son, Nevin Holloway and future daughter-in-law Tomeika Bailly, both of Rayne; one daughter and her husband Nicole and Troy Benoit of Rayne; her mother, Anna Menard; three brothers, Carroll and his wife Elaine Menard of Rayne, Patrick Menard and Chris and his wife Melisa Menard, all of Rayne; one sister, Rose Kinkade and her husband Jerry of Rayne; and one grandchild Janna Benoit of Rayne.
She was preceded in death by her father, Howard Menard.
Visitation was Monday from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7p.m. and Tuesday from 8 a.m. until services.
Burial was in the St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of Gossen Funeral Home of Rayne.

Michael Wayne Istre
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2005, in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel for Michael Wayne Istre, 50, of Crowley, who died at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2005 at his residence.
Burial was in the Istre Cemetery in Mermentau Cove.
Visitation was from 10 a.m. on Tuesday until time of services.
He is survived by two sons, Henry Istre, Iota, and Rodney Istre, Crowley; a ex-wife, Cynthia Istre, Crowley; one brother, James Istre, Crowley; and four sisters, Lorita (Bootise) Guidry, Lyons Point; Juanita Kelbaugh, Thurmont, Md., Helen Saucier, Mamou, and Sheila Arceneaux, Welsh.
Mr. Istre was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Anna Davy Istre, and one brother, Richard Istre.
Duhon Funeral Home of Crowley was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Nedia B. Boudreaux
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 4, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, for Nedia Baronet Boudreaux, 94, who died Sunday, May 1, 2005 at her residence.
Survivors include one son, Martin Boudreaux Jr. of Crowley; two daughters, Mary Alice Cormier of Lafayette, and Ruth Collins of Lafayette; two sisters, Agnes Breaux, and Aglise Kober, both of Crowley; two brothers, Joe Baronet of Crowley, and Percy Baronet of Leland Miss.
She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
Mrs. Boudreaux was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Boudreaux Sr., one son, Robert Boudreaux, her parents, Jules and Theresa Plaisance Baronet; one sister, and three brothers.
Visitation was Tuesday May 3, from 2:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening, and Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
Burial was in the St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of Gossen Funeral Home of Rayne.
