John Brasseaux
LEWISBURG –– Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, 2002, in St. John’s Chapel here, with Father Nikey Trahan officiating, for John Brasseaux, 75, of Lewisburg, who died Saturday, Nov. 16, 2002, at 12:30 a.m. in Doctors Hospital in Opelousas.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, in the funeral home chapel.
Burial was in St. John Cemetery
in Lewisburg.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Brasseaux, Lewisburg; two daughters, Judy B. Arceneaux and Linda B. Savoy, both of Church Point; one son, Jimmy Brasseaux, Cankton; two stepsons, Mark McMillan and David McMillan, both of Carencro; four sisters, Thelma Breaux, Eldine Daigle, Hazel Doucet, and Eda Andrepont, all of Church Point; two brothers, J.B. Brasseaux, Bunkie, and Ray Brasseaux, Church Point; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and four step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Patsy Brasseaux; his parents, Marie and Elus Brasseaux; and one sister, Rosa Mae Fontenot.

Zora Ann Hoffpauir
INDIAN BAYOU - Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2002, at a service in Indian Bayou Methodist Church for Zora Ann Hoffpauir, 63, who died at 2:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 18, 2002, at University Medical Center.
interment was in Indian Bayou Methodist Cemetery.
Survivors include a special friend, Barbara Heath, of Indian Bayou; six sisters, Ora Foreman, of Indian Bayou, Velma Stutes, of Indian Bayou, Buel Hyfield, of Indian Bayou, Irene Foreman, of Houston, Texas ., Annette LeBeouf, of Indian Bayou, Lorraine LeBouef, of Abbeville; two brothers, Avery Lloyd Hoffpauir, of Indian Bayou, and Howard “Donald” Hoffpauir, of Ragley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Avery Curley Hoffpauir and Oraphine Smith Hoffpauir.
Zora was a master framer at Michael’s for the past ten years.
Arrangements were entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home Inc. of Rayne.
Mary Douglass (Dougie) Ranstead
Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2002, at the residence of Mary Douglass (Dougie) Ranstead, 55, who Passed away at 1:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, 2002, of lung and brain cancer at her residence. Her body was donated to medical science.
Survivors include her son, Jon Gregory Naff of Rayne; her husband, Martin Ranstead, of Rayne; her mother, Mary D. Ford of Rayne; and her sister, Vickki Ford of Marietta, Ga.
“Dougie” will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Mrs. Walter P. Constantin
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, 2002, in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel here, with the Rev. Bill Hudson officiating, for Mrs. Walter P. Constantin, the former Glenda Wilkerson, 59, of Rayne, who died at 11 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4, 2002, in Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.
She is survived by her husband, Walter Constantin, Rayne; three daughters, Donna Hardee and Sherry Jones, both of Conway, S.C., and Melissa Lopez, Orlando, Fla.; her mother, Julia B.Grainger, Galivants Ferry, S.C.; two sisters, Marva Meeks, Round Lake, Ill., and Renee Grainger, Winterville, N.C.; four brothers, James Grainger and Danny Ray Grainger, both of Galivants Ferry, S.C., Danile Grainger, Round Lake, Ill., and Reggie Grainger, Hanford, Conn.; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Edward Grainger; two brothers, Timothy Grainger and Willie Grainger; and two sisters, Vicky Lynn Grainger and Patricia Grainger.
Mrs. Walter P. Constantin was the office manager of Rayne Plane, Inc. She was also a very friendly business associate and friend for the company.

Jermarion Ray Jolivette
Graveside services were held at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2002, in the Our Mother of Mercy Cemetery
here for Jermarion Ray Jolivette, who died Monday, Nov. 11, 2002, at birth in American Legion Hospital in Crowley.
He is survived by his mother, Cutina Jolivette, Rayne; one sister, Asialyn Jolivette, Rayne; grandmother, Betty Jolivette, Rayne; grandfather, Jeles Midstead, Sr., Houston, Texas ; step-grandfather, Cleveland Benoit, Cade; and great-grandmother, Corrine Jolivette, Rayne.

Mary Rose Hayley Urban
Graveside services were held Tuesday Nov. 12, 2002, in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery
in Rayne at 3 p.m. for Mary Rose Hayley Urban, infant daughter of Richard and Hayley Louviere Urban of Rayne.
Survivors include her parents, one brother, Benedict Urban of Rayne; one aunt, Linde and Dustin Dean of Pensacola Fla.; three uncles, Michael and Anita Urban, Brian and Lindsey Urban, and Edward Urban, all of South Africa; maternal grandparents, James and Ruth Anne Louviere of Lafayette; paternal grandparents, Michael and Winefred Urban of South Africa; also her godparents Suzanne Bercier and Ronnie Paille.
Mary Rose was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church of Baton Rouge.

Clothilde T. Trahan
A mass of Christian Burial for Clothilde Trahan was held at 12 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2002, at St Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne. Mrs. Trahan, 93 years old, had been a life long resident of Rayne. She was a member of the Ladies Altar Society.
She is survived by her great-niece, Gayle LeBlanc (whom she raised); two great-great nephews, Brian LeBlanc and his wife Sylvia from New Orleans, Scotty LeBlanc and his wife Kristi of Carencro, and Scotty’s two children Blaise and Alyssa from New Orleans.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gabriel “Poke” Trahan; her parents, Joseph C. and Mathilde L. Trahan; her six brothers, Leonce, David, Sidney, Walter, Odelon, and Joseph B. Trahan; six sisters, Cecile Trahan, Lucia Hebert, Leoncia Credeur, Corinne Alleman, Eugenie Boudreaux, Agnes Richard; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The Rev. Gary Schexnayder pastor of St. Michael Catholic Church in Crowley conducted the services. Organist Valerie Andrus sang for the services.

Percy Roberts
Memorial services will be announced at a later date for Percy Roberts, 79, of Duson, who died Sunday, Nov. 10, 2002, in the Medical Southwest Hospital in Lafayette.
He is survived by one son, Terry Roberts, Sr., Rayne; a longtime companion, Lorina Fruge, Scott; two sisters, Gladys Foret, Groves, Texas , and Mable Moore, California; two grandchildren, Terry Roberts, Jr., and Shelly Roberts; three great-grandchildren, Hunter Roberts, Cort Roberts and Lilly Roberts; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Roberts was preceded in death by his parents, Belzier and Vivcent Roberts; two sisters, Beulah Thibodeaux and Verdia Albarado; three brothers, Claude, Gaston and Octave Roberts; and one son, Brian Roberts.
Mr. Roberts was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during World War II.
He will be deeply missed by family and friends.

Chad Pellerin
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2002, at Assumption Church in Mire for Chadwick Lewis Pellerin, 34, who died in an automobile accident Sunday, Nov. 3, 2002.
Burial was in the church cemetery.
The Very Rev. Msgr. Russell J. Harrington, V. E., pastor of Church of Assumption in Mire conduced the services. Organist Valerie Andrus sang for the service.
A resident of the Mire Community, he graduated from Rayne High School and Lafayette Regional Vo-Tech. He was employed by MicroAnadigicom for the past 12 years and was senior operations manager for the company.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved to cook his catch. He cherished the time spent with his friends and family.
Survivors include his parents, Charles Rodney and Gloria Winn Pellerin, Mire; three sisters and their husbands, Angie and Timmy Nero, Mel and Troy Guidry and Pam and Todd Denais, all of Scott; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Pellerin, Scott; maternal grandmother, Mary Nid Winn, Church Point; two nieces, Lauren Pellerin, his godchild, Leah Guidry; four nephews, Garrett Guidry, Wyatt and Joel Nero and Cutter Denais all of Scott.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Paul Winn; an infant brother, Charles Kevin Pellerin; and an aunt, Judy Pellerin Vincent.
Rosaries were recited Monday at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Pallbearers were Kirk Daigle, Robert Richard, Mark Richard, Phil Hebert, Adam Soileau, Mitchell Babineaux, Chad Miller and Craig Meche. Honorary pallbearers are his brothers-in-law, Todd Denais, Timmy Nero and Troy Guidry and his uncles, David Glen, Boyd and Byrne Winn.
