Funeral services for Jimmica LeTonya Sanders, 24, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003, at Holy Faith Temple Church of God in Christ in Cullen with Elder Bobby Washington officiating.
Burial will follow at Caldwell Cemetery in Plain Dealing under the direction of Kennon's Mortuary in Minden.
She is survived by her daughter, Shardeja Sanders of Cullen; parents, Jimmy Lee Jackson of Cullen; mother and stepfather, Gwen Washington and David Washington of Cullen; two brothers, Datra L. Sanders of Arkadelphia, Ark., and Jimmy Lee Jackson of Cullen; four sisters, Tonja Denise Gipson and husband Lorenzo of Shreveport, Addreine Dione Hemphill and husband Brett of Forman, Ark., Keiyia Joyet Jackson of Tallahassee, Fla., and Phadra Willene Sykes and husband Dean of Shreveport; special sister friend, Kawandra Beene of Kansas City, Mo.; special adoptive grandparents, J.C. and Lourene Kirksey of Cullen; four aunts; two uncles; the Holy Temple Church of God in Christ family; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Buster Smith
Funeral services for Mr. Buster Booker Smith, 57, will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, at the Fourteenth District Building with the Rev. Edward Brown officiating.
Burial will follow at Pringer Place Cemetery under the direction of Kennon's Mortuary in Minden.
Visitation will be held Friday, Jan. 24, at the funeral home.
Mr. Smith, a native of Heflin, Passed away Saturday, Jan. 18, in Minden.
He was born Jan. 24, 1945, to Mr. and Mrs. Booker and Pearlie Love Smith. He was a veteran of the United States Army.
He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Bates Smith of Minden; one daughter, Allison Smith of Minden; two sons, Marcus Thomas of Heflin, and Shannon Derric Smith of Houston, Texas ; two stepdaughters, Kayla Wilson and husband Mike, Brandy Powell and husband Dee, all of Minden; 10 sisters, Joyce Trammell of Los Angeles, Calif., Pearlie Brown and husband Lawrence of Minden, Mattie Coleman of Heflin, Exie Cooper and husband Charlie of Minden, Mary Shehee of Shreveport, Annie Smith, Bernice Jones, Mary Ann McKinney, all of Minden, G. Alice Wilson of Heflin, and Climidy Smith of Minden; two brothers, Elijah Smith of Bossier City, and Rocky Smith of Minden; seven grandchildren; godson, Buffy Coleman of Sibley; dedicated niece, Annette C. Sallie Smith
Funeral services for Mrs. Sallie Tahlee Smith, 93, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24, 2003, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden with the Rev. Terral Lowe officiating.
Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at 5 p.m. today, Jan. 23, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Smith, a native of Gloster, Miss., and a resident of the Evergreen Community, Passed away Wednesday, Jan. 22, in Evergreen. She was a housewife.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Smith; and son, Charles Wayne Smith.
She is survived by her son, Allen Lamar Smith of Livingston, Texas ; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Matt Martin, W.D. Martin, Joe Haynes, Drew Edwards, Joe Pearson, and James Pruitt.
Memorials may be made to the Evergreen Cemetery Fund or to the charity of the donor's choice.
Mary Cockrell
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Jo Wilson Cockrell will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, 2003, at Ringgold Assembly of God with the Rev. Bill Back officiating. Burial will follow at Whitehall Cemetery in Haynesville under the direction of Rockett Funeral Home in Ringgold.
Visitation will be held from 5 until 8 p.m. today, Jan. 22, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Cockrell, a resident of Heflin, Passed away Monday, Jan. 20. She was born March 11, 1926, in Mena, Ark. and was a member of Ringgold Assembly of God, where she served as secretary and also sang in the choir. She was also a member of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, James Weldon Cockrell; two sons, David Allen Cockrell and Samual Earl Cockrell; one daughter, Ella Louise Cockrell; one sister, Joni Wise of Yuma, Ariz.; seven grandchildren, Mary Katherine, David Allen Jr., Lloyd Thomas, Melanie Dawn, Jennifer Irene, Cynthia Deann, and Lisa Ann; 15 great-grandchildren, James, Dylan, Hannah, Stephanie, Toni, Preston, Justin, Holly, Westley, Victoria, Luke, Jason, Jacob, Natalie and Caden.
Pallbearers will be David Allen Cockrell Jr., Lloyd Thomas Cockrell, Kenny Balkom, C.D. Cockrell, Wayne Williamson and Roy Lewis.
Juanita K. Roberts
Funeral services for Mrs. Juanita K. Roberts, 84, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, 2003, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden with the Rev. Wayne DuBose officiating and the Rev. Bill Ichter assisting. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. at Rowell Cemetery near Pine Bluff, Ark.

Mrs. Roberts, a native of Kingsland, Ark., and a resident of Minden, Passed away Tuesday, Jan. 21, in Minden. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband Jake. H. Roberts of Minden; sons, Donnie Lee Roberts of Livingston, Texas , and Kenneth Ray Roberts of Yacaipa, Calif.; sister, Marie Brown of Rison, Ark.; 10 grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Hope Justine Slay, 85, will be held at 2 p.m. today, at First Baptist Church in Minden in the West Chapel with the Rev. Bill Ichter officiating. Burial will follow at Minden Cemetery under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden.
Mrs. Slay, a native of Zwolle and a resident of Minden, Passed away Saturday, Jan. 18, in Shreveport.
She was a retired registered nurse and a member of First Baptist Church in Minden.
She was preceded in death by her husband, T.L. Slay.
She is survived by her daughter, Patsy S. Ford of Shreveport; sisters, Olga Jean Blanco of Florene, and Lois Griffith of Skeen, Miss.; brothers, W.H. Gandy Jr. of Alexandria, Rodney Gandy of Marthaville, and Shannon Gandy of New Orleans; grandson, Dr. Todd Ford and wife Sarah of Arlington, Texas ; and great-grandchild, Conner Ford of Arlington.

Joe Gautney
Funeral services for Mr. Joe Carroll Gautney, 74, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden with the Rev. P.O. "Sonny" DePrang and the Rev. James Crain officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Minden.
Visitation will be held from 5 until 8 p.m. today, Jan. 17, at the funeral home.
Mr. Gautney, a resident of Minden, Passed away Thursday, Jan. 16, in Shreveport.
He was retired after 75 years as captain of the Bossier Fire Department.
He was preceded in death by his father, O.C. Gautney.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Gautney of Minden; mother, Jane DePrang Gautney; one brother; six sons; three daughters; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Bruce Baker, Allen Hightower, Mark Winggton, Willard McClung; Mike Lockwood, and George Chambers. Honorary pallbearers will be the retired members of the Bossier Fire Department.

Mr. Hancock, a native of Gibsland and a resident of Shreveport, Passed away Wednesday, Jan. 15, in Shreveport.
He was a maintenance manager for Beaird Industries. He was a former resident of Minden.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Martha Hancock of Shreveport; one daughter, Michele Attaway and husband Ricky of Shreveport; two grandchildren, Paige and Peyton Attaway of Shreveport; three nephews and a host of other friends.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Bamburg, T.C. Bloxom, Bobby Grafton, Freddie Franks, Bill Ichter and Gordon Hinton.

Mrs. Roton, a resident of Minden, Passed away Monday, Jan. 13, in Minden. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by stepsons, Danny Roton and wife Rhonda of Haughton, Russell L. Roton of Haughton; and stepdaughter, Diane Chandler and husband Jeff of Utah.
Ruby Edwards

Mrs. Edwards, a native and resident of Minden, Passed away Wednesday, Jan. 8, in Minden. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her daughter, Irene Edwards and husband John of San Jose, Calif.; 26 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives.
Beatrice Mitchell
Funeral services for Mrs. Beatrice Mitchell, 84, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, 2003, at Kennon's Mortuary with the Rev. Billy Isreal officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, Jan. 15, with family hour from 7 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Mitchell, a native of Homer, Passed away Thursday, Jan. 9, in Minden.
She was born March 1, 1917, to Jessie Johnson and Addie Murphy Johnson .
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ruben Mitchell Sr.; sister, Bertha West; and brothers, Walter and Johnny Johnson .
She is survived by two sons, Arthur Mitchell of Minden, Ruben Mitchell Jr. of Tennessee; six grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; nieces, Mary Harris and Tricia Tibbs of Minden; nephew, Mike West of Milwaukee, Wis.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Curtis Sikes Sr.
Funeral services for Mr. Curtis L. Sikes Sr., 86, will be held at 3:30 p.m. today, Jan. 13, 2003, at Sibley Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeff Flenniken and the Rev. Ray Henson officiating. Burial will follow at Sibley Cemetery under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden.
Mr. Sikes, a native of Mississippi and a resident of Sibley for more than 50 years, Passed away Saturday, Jan. 11, in Minden.
He was a depot agent for the Illinois Central Railroad.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Lee and Millie Sikes; and a brother, Clifton S. Sikes.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Bertie Sikes of Sibley; son, Leroy Sikes and wife Carolyn of Minden; daughter, Tommie Jean Bourn and husband Clarence of Sibley; sister, Nellie Faye Bryan of Mississippi; grandchildren, Eddie Bourne and wife Andrea, Debbie Jordan and husband Ronald, C.L. Bourn and wife Marla, David Bourn, Duane Sikes and wife Shannon, and Elizabeth Stinson and husband Greg; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Eddie Bourn, Duane Sikes, Ronald Jordan, Greg Stinson, Buddy Holcomb and C.L. Bourn.
Nellie Triplet
Graveside services for Mrs. Nellie Adams Triplet, 90, will be held at 2 p.m. today, Jan. 13, at Old Athens Cemetery with the Rev. Richard May officiating. Services are under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden.
Mrs. Triplet, a native of Castor and a resident of the Harris Community for 75 years, Passed away Saturday, Jan. 11, in Minden. She was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Triplet; son, Derwood Triplet; and grandson, Jerimy Pearson.
She is survived by her daughters Maxine Pierson of Heflin, Betty Ann Pearson and husband Larry of Ashdown, Ark., Barbara Hutchins and husband Jerry of Heflin; daughter-in-law, Mary Triplet of Bossier City; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

James Wiles
Funeral services for Mr. James Thomas Wiles, 79, will be held at 2 p.m. today, Jan. 13, 2003, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden with Dr. Morris Robe officiating. Burial will follow at Bistineau Cemetery.
Mr. Wiles, a native of Grayson and a resident of Minden, Passed away Friday, Jan. 10, in Shreveport.
He was a retired mechanical engineer for the U.S. government and was past president of the Minden Lions Club. He was also in the U.S. Air Force and received many superior performance awards for the recognition of high quality performance.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Madden Wiles of Minden; step-son, Sherry B. Barnette of Maui, Hawaii; step-daughter, Sandra Lary and husband Tommy of Minden; grandchildren, Lisa Barnette of Maui, Andrea Lary of Shreveport and Hollie Lary Fritz of Shreveport.
