Natalie J. Sirois, 71

WINCHENDON - Natalie J. (Devine) Sirois, 71, of 310 School St., died Monday, June 3, at home.

She leaves her husband of 38 years, Raymond A. Sirois; a son, Albert G. Sirois of Westbrook, Maine; two daughters, Susan P. Sirois of Lyme, N.H., and Cynthia L. Cho of Bar Mills, Maine; a sister, Beatrice Long of Pasa Robles, Calif.; nine grandchildren; several great - grandchildren; nephews and nieces. She was born in Weymouth, daughter of Harold and Aina (Jerpi) Devine, and had lived in New Hampshire and Gardner before moving to Winchendon six years ago. She graduated in 1948 from Milford High School in New Hampshire.

Mrs. Sirois was a mink rancher for 25 years in Milford, N.H., and Epping, N.H., many years ago. She then owned and operated the former Lamplighter Restaurant in Lebanon, N.H., for a couple of years. Later, She was a molder for Paragon Plastics in Leominster for 25 years. Most recently, she and her husband operated the former Family Videoland. She was a member of Mission Street Congregational Church in Gardner.

Mrs. Sirois donated her body for anatomical research to Harvard Medical School, Boston. A memorial service will be held at a time to be announced in Mission Street Congregational Church, 15 Mission St., Gardner. There are no calling hours. Donations may be made to the charity. Smith Funeral Home, 69 Vernon St., Gardner, is directing arrangements.

Francis D. St. John, 65

FITCHBURG - Francis D. St. John, 65, of 150 Electric Ave., died Sunday, June 9, in St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center after being stricken ill at home.

He leaves his wife of 42 years, Alice M. (Cote) St. John; a son, Henry F. St. John of Leominster; two brothers, Robert and Raymond St. John, both of Fitchburg; two sisters, Pauline David and Jeannette Deloge, both of Fitchburg; two grandsons; nieces and nephews. Two sisters, Patricia Connors and Evelyn Zis, predeceased him. He was born in Fitchburg, son of Henry and Edna (Antil) St. John.

Mr. St. John worked more than 30 years at the former H. Margoulin Co. before its closing in 1984. He later worked at Kmart in Leominster, and in the kitchen of Oak Hill Country Club before retiring in 1998.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 13, in St. Joseph's Church, 46 Woodland St. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, in Louis M. Isabelle Funeral Home, 316 Clarendon St. Donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.

Goldie A. Roy Studley

AUBURN - Goldie A. (White) Roy Studley, 71, of 5 Church St., Sutton, formerly of Auburn, a retired cafeteria worker, died Tuesday, June 11, in Life Care Center of Auburn after an illness.

Her husband, John R. Studley, died in 1997. She leaves a son, Bruce H. Roy of Oxford; a daughter, Sharon A. Biemiller of Sutton; two sisters, Barbara M. Soponski of Spencer and Judy E. Giles of Dallas; two stepchildren, Barry Studley of Florida and Penny Sawa of Leicester; four grandchildren; two step - grandchildren; and four nephews. Her first husband, Robert F. Roy, died in 1983. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Henry M. and Goldie V. (Pettis) White, and lived more than 40 years in Auburn before moving to Sutton four years ago.

Mrs. Studley was a cafeteria worker at Auburn Junior High School for more than 20 years before retiring. She then delivered Meals on Wheels for the Auburn Senior Center for five years. She was a member of First Congregational Church of Auburn and its Women's Fellowship. She enjoyed camping.

The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 15, in First Congregational Church, 128 Central St. After cremation, burial will be in Hillside Cemetery. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 14, in Britton - Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St. (www.brittonfuneralhomes.com). In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Diabetes Association, PO Box 2680, North Canton, OH 044720; or to American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.

Joanna M. Swaney, 57

LEOMINSTER - Joanna M. (Angelini) Swaney, 57, of 191 Union St., died Thursday, June 6, in St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center after being stricken ill at home.

She leaves her husband, Ross A. Swaney of Woodbury, N.J.; two daughters, Tina Swaney Black of Barre and Gina M. Swaney of Leominster; six brothers, Joseph P., Alexander R., Domenic P. and Paul P. Angelini, all of Leominster, Frank Angelini of Edgewater, Fla., and Philip Angelini Jr. of Gardner; a sister, Pauline M. Hayes of Orange; three grandsons; nephews and nieces. She was born in Uniontown, Pa., daughter of Philip and Angela (Carocci) Angelini Sr., and had lived in Leominster for 50 years.

Mrs. Swaney was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Leominster Aerie 477.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 10, in Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral Home, 106 West St. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Calling hours are 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 9, in the funeral home.

She leaves her husband, Ross A. Swaney; a son, William A. Swaney of Woodbury, N.J.; two daughters, Tina Swaney Black of Barre and Gina M. Swaney of Leominster; her mother, Angela (Carocci) Angelini of Leominster; six brothers, Joseph P., Alexander R., Domenic P. and Paul P. Jacqueline A. Taft, 61
Tuesday, June 11, 2002

MILLVILLE - Jacqueline A. (Carlson) Taft, 61, of 16 Cork Circle, died Sunday, June 9, at home after a long illness.

She leaves her husband of 21 years, William C. Taft; a son, Steven P. Cyr of Millville; three grandchildren. She was born in Worcester, and lived in Uxbridge before moving to Millville four years ago.

Mrs. Taft was a data entry clerk in the purchasing department of Waters Associates in Milford for 22 years. She was a bartender several years at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1385 in Uxbridge.

She was a member of the New England Country Western Music Club for 30 years, and volunteered 15 years for Toys for Tots.

The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 12, in Tancrell - Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Road, Uxbridge. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Granite Street, Uxbridge. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, in the funeral home.

Gladys H. Tainter, 97
Wednesday, June 12, 2002

WORCESTER - Gladys H. (Loomer) Clifford Tainter, 97, of 88 Masonic Home Road, Charlton, formerly of Worcester, died Monday, June 10, at home.

Her husband, Harvey H. Tainter, died in 1974. She leaves two daughters, Shirley M. Kelley of Northboro and Ardeth M. Tainter of Shrewsbury; 13 grandchildren; 15 great - grandchildren; a niece and a nephew. A son, L. Sargent Clifford, died in 1992. She was born in Concord, daughter of Darrah and Retta W. (Berry) Loomer. She graduated from Girls Trade School.

Mrs. Tainter was a cook for the Paul Revere Insurance Co. for 20 years. She was a member of Greendale People's Church and several of its women's groups, and the Order of the Eastern Star.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 14, in Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 13, in the funeral home.

Irene F. Thorner, 78

MILFORD - Irene F. (Johnson) Thorner, 78, of 7 Whip o' Will Lane, died Tuesday, June 4, in Milford - Whitinsville Regional Hospital.

She leaves her husband of 40 years, Richard G. Thorner; a brother, Robert Johnson of Middleton; three sisters, Mary Conley of Danvers, Estelle Trueira of Amesbury and Catherine Freeman of Hamilton; nieces and nephews. Three brothers and three sisters predeceased her. She was born in Danvers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Barney Johnson, and lived in Milford for 40 years. She graduated in 1942 from the former St. Mary's High School in Beverly, and in 1946 from the Beverly Hospital School of Nursing.

Mrs. Thorner was a registered nurse at Geriatric Authority for 20 years, retiring in 1992. She had previously worked for the Greater Milford - Northbridge Area Visiting Nurse Association and Beverly Hospital. She was a member of St. Mary's Church, the Beverly Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association, and the Greenleaf Garden Club.

The funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, June 7, from Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Winter Street. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 6, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity.

Anna E. Tieri, 87,

SOUTHBRIDGE - Anna E. "Jean" (Verna) Tieri, 87, of Elm Street, died Thursday, May 30, in Harrington Memorial Hospital.

Her husband of 66 years, Anthony Tieri, died in 2001. She leaves two daughters, Janet T. Cinami of North Providence, R.I., and Barbara L'Heureux of Southbridge; a brother, Albert Verna of Southbridge; two grandchildren; a great - grandson; nieces and nephews. Two brothers, Anthony and Domenic Verna, predeceased her. She was born in Southbridge, daughter of Federico N. and Chiarina (Campilli) Verna.

Mrs. Tieri operated Jean's Curtain Shop with her husband for 27 years. She was a member of St. Mary's Church, St. Rita's Society and Southbridge Women's Club. She enjoyed traveling.

The funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 6, in St. Mary's Church, 263 Hamilton St. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Southbridge Permanent Firefighters, 24 Elm St., Southbridge, MA 01550.

BELLINGHAM - Alice I. (Sweeney) Tremba, 59, of 40 Pond St., formerly of Shrewsbury, died Thursday, June 13, in Milford - Whitinsville Hospital after a battle with cancer. Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation St., Worcester, is directing arrangements, which are incomplete.

Anna M. Trzpit, 83

HARDWICK - Anna M. (Skutnik) Trzpit, 83, of 17 Grove St., died Monday, June 3, in Holden Nursing Home.

Her husband, Joseph M. Trzpit, died in 1997. She leaves a son, Robert J. Trzpit of Oakham; and two grandchildren, Laura and Michael Trzpit, both of Oakham. She was born in the Gilbertville section of Hardwick, daughter of Frank and Sophie (Klimek) Skutnik, and graduated from Hardwick High School.

Mrs. Trzpit worked 36 years at Carter Co., Gilbertville, before retiring. She was a member of St. Aloysius Church, Gilbertville, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 246 and Gilbertville Golden Agers.

The funeral will be held Thursday, June 6, from Cebula Funeral Home, 66 South St., Ware, with a Mass at noon in St. Aloysius Church, 64 Church St., Gilbertville. Burial will be in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hardwick Rescue Squad, PO Box 447, Gilbertville, MA 01031.

Helen M. Tucker, 69

WINCHENDON - Helen M. (St. Pierre) Tucker, 69, of 36 Goodrich Drive, died Tuesday, June 4, in Heywood Hospital, Gardner, after a short illness.

Her husband, Arthur F. Tucker Sr., died in 1983. She leaves a son, Arthur F. Tucker Jr. of Townsend; four daughters, Linda E. Hamel of Templeton, Terry M. LaRosa of Winchendon, Betty Lou Moriarty of Fitchburg and Sarah M. Cloutier of Shrewsbury; two brothers, Ernest St. Pierre of Rindge, N.H., and Philip St. Pierre of Jaffrey, N.H.; four sisters, Marjorie Liimatainen and Lucille Zatowski, both of Jaffrey, Alta Wheelen of Derry, N.H., and Julia Floria of Winchendon; 16 grandchildren; 20 great - grandchildren; nephews and nieces. She was born in Winchendon, daughter of Francis X. and Sarah M. (Berard) St. Pierre, and lived here most of her life.

Mrs. Tucker enjoyed bingo, crocheting and collecting antique glass.

The funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. Friday, June 7, in Fletcher - Hebert Funeral Home, 70 Pleasant St. (www.fletcherfuneralhomes.com). Burial will be at a later date in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 7, in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
