WEBSTER - Anna M. (Spitz) Duclos, 89, of 243 Thompson Road, died Tuesday, June 18, in Hubbard Regional Hospital, after a long illness.

Her husband of 49 years, Warren J. Duclos Sr., died in 1986. She leaves a son, Warren J. Duclos Jr. of Webster; a sister, Katie Zablocki of Dudley; five grandchildren; and three great - grandchildren. A daughter, Pauline Roy, died in 1980. She was born in Helvasia, Pa., daughter of Elias and Mary (Pavuk) Spitz, and lived most of her life in Webster. She graduated from Bartlett High School.

Mrs. Duclos worked with her husband at the former Sportsmen's Supply Co., retiring many years ago.

The funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, June 21, in Robert J. Miller Funeral Home and Lake Chapel, 366 School St. Burial will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity.

Richard T. LaMountain Jr., 45, was business owner

Richard T. LaMountain Jr., 45, was business owner OXFORD - Richard T. LaMountain Jr., 45, of Federal Hill Road, Oxford, a business owner, died Sunday, June 23, in McBride, British Columbia, from injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident involving a moose that day.

He leaves a daughter, Chantelle LaMountain of Oxford; his mother, Barbara (Welcome) LaMountain of Oxford; his girlfriend, Joy Zendzean of Oxford, with whom he lived; three brothers, James P. LaMountain of Holland, and Henry J. LaMountain Sr. and Peter LaMountain, both of Oxford; two sisters, Susan M. Letscher of Whitinsville and Theresa D. Hoernke of Deltona, Florida; and many nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester, son of the late Richard T. "Hoss" LaMountain Sr., and lived most of his life in Worcester. He graduated from Worcester Boys Trade High School in Worcester in 1974. He was a Navy veteran, serving aboard the U.S.S. Proteus.

Mr. LaMountain was founder, CEO, and president of LaMountain Brothers Inc. in Oxford for 23 years.

He was a member of St. Ann's Church in North Oxford. He was a member of the Oxford Lodge of Masons, the Shriners, the Republican committee, and the Petroleum Equipment Institute.

He was a motorcycle rider and enthusiast, and was a member of the Harley Owners Group. He was a fine - art aficionado, and enjoyed golfing, collecting artifacts, and reading.

The funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, June 28, from Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St. (www.paradisfuneralhome.com), with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Ann's Church, 652 Main St., North Oxford. Burial will be in St. Roch's Cemetery. Calling hours, including a 7:30 p.m. Masonic service, are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, June 27, in the funeral home. Donations may be made to the Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (NJROTC), Oxford Unit, 495 Main St., Oxford, MA 01540.

Mary E. Smith French

WORCESTER - Mary E. (Stamper) Smith French, 88, formerly of Rutland, a retired revenue officer, died Tuesday, July 9, in Christopher House.

Her husband, J. Earl French, died in 1985. She leaves a son, Robert E. Smith of Worcester; a stepdaughter, Beatrice Coleman of Worcester; eight grandchildren; many great - grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Her first husband, Edmund Smith, died in 1943. Two brothers, Joseph and Robert Stamper, and two sisters, Gladys Poisant and Nora Prescott, predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Robert and Elizabeth (Williamson) Stamper, and graduated from Commerce High School.

Mrs. French was a revenue officer for the Internal Revenue Service, retiring in 1975. During World War II, she was a nurse's aide with the Red Cross at Memorial and City hospitals. She enjoyed gardening and bowling.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 12, in First Congregational Church of Rutland, Main Street. Burial will be in Rural Cemetery, Rutland. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 11, in Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. Memorial donations may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104.

Candace M. Scola, 32

WORCESTER - Candace M. (Allen) Scola, 32, of 3 Knox St., a judicial secretary, died last week at home.

Her death is being investigated as a homicide.

She leaves her husband, Anthony J. Scola; her parents, James G. Allen Jr. and Constance M. (Morin) Allen of Montville, Maine; a brother, James G. Allen III of Washington, D.C.; three sisters, Christine M. Allen of Punta Gorda, Fla., Celeste I. Allen of Woonsocket, R.I., and Catherine E. Wailgum of Boston; a stepson, Anthony J. "A.J." Scola Jr. of Worcester; her maternal grandparents, Adelard G. Morin and Theresa M. (Hebert) Guilmette Morin of North Oxford; and a niece. She was born in Worcester and lived many years in Leicester before moving to Worcester. She graduated from Leicester High School and attended Becker College and Worcester State College.

Mrs. Scola was a judicial secretary in the judges' lobby of the Worcester Juvenile Court. She enjoyed painting watercolors, gardening, flowers and cooking.

The funeral will be held Friday, July 12, from Dirsa - Morin Funeral Home, 298 Grafton St. (www.worcesterfuneral.com), with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, 35 Hamilton St. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, July 11, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to YWCA Daybreak Program, PO Box 3093, Worcester, MA 01613.

David P. Peterson, 43, marketing associate

WORCESTER - David P. Peterson, 43, of 51 Malden St., a marketing associate, died Tuesday, July 9, at home after being stricken ill.

He leaves two sons, Christopher D. and Sean M. Peterson, both of Worcester; his parents, Frederick R. Peterson of Sutton and Elaine F. (Rutherford) Peterson LeBlanc of Gardner; a brother, Gary W. Peterson of Millbury; a sister, Amy Lynn Peterson of Gardner; his paternal grandmother, Jean M. (Teachout) Peterson of Sterling; and nephews. He was born in the Whitinsville section of Northbridge and was raised in Sutton. He later lived in Millbury before moving to Worcester about 20 years ago. He graduated from Sutton High School in 1976 and received an associate's degree in food service from Johnson and Wales University, Providence, in 1979 and a bachelor's degree in business from Worcester State College in 1992.

Mr. Peterson was a marketing associate for nine years for Hallsmith - SYSCO Food Services, Norton. Previously, he was a chef at The Forefathers Restaurant in Paxton, the William Paul House in Holden, Arturo's, the El Morocco and the Struck Cafe. He was a former member of St. Mark's Parish, Sutton, and enjoyed sports and travel.

The funeral will be held Saturday, July 13, from Turgeon Funeral Home, 56 Main St., Millbury, with Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Mark's Church, Boston Road, Sutton. Burial will be in Central Cemetery, Millbury. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 12, in the funeral home. Please omit flowers. Memorial donations may be made to Christopher and Sean Peterson Trust Fund, c/o Millbury Federal Credit Union, 50 Main St., Millbury, MA 01527.

David L. McMunn, 45

WORCESTER - David L. "Demi" McMunn, 45, of 1350 Main St., formerly of Fairfield Street, died Saturday, July 6, in UMass Memorial Medical Center - Memorial Campus.

He leaves a brother, Everett A. McMunn of Ormond Beach, Fla.; two nephews; and his caregivers, Matt, Terri, and Sean Flood, all of Worcester. He was born in Hicksville, N.Y., son of George E. and Marion (Furphy) McMunn, and moved to Worcester in 1986.

Mr. McMunn was a cook at the former Yankee Drummer Inn in Auburn. He was also a cook for Ringling Brothers Circus for a time.

He was a Civil War history enthusiast.

The memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, July 19, in Graham, Putnam, Mahoney Funeral Parlor, 838 Main St. There are no calling hours. Burial will be in Long Island, N.Y. Donations may be made to a charity.

Russell E. Dube Sr., 82, retired sales manager

WORCESTER - Russell E. Dube Sr., 82, of 39 First St., died Sunday, July 14, in St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center.

He leaves his wife of 61 years, Dorothy L. (Braley) Dube; two sons, Russell E. Dube Jr. of Holden and Robert R. Dube of Boynton Beach, Fla.; two daughters, Dorothy L. Blanchard of Chula Vista, Calif. and Cheryl A. Werner of Scotch Plains, N.J.; two sisters, Elaine P. Dube and Vivian A. Norris, both of Worcester; 11 grandchildren; eight great - grandchildren; several nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester, son of Ernest and Florence (Ayotte) Dube.

Mr. Dube was a sales manager for 20 years at the Aquarium Center in West Boylston, retiring in 1985. He was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Church and a former member of the Worcester Lodge of Elks #341, where he was a past chaplain. He was also a member of the 39ers club at Coes Pond Village.

The funeral will be held Wednesday, July 17, from Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home, 12 Hammond St. (www.royfuneral.com), with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Charles Borromeo Church, 341 June St. Entombment will be in Notre Dame Mausoleum. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, in the funeral home. NORTHBRIDGE - Lisa A. Winchester, 36, of Border Street, Whitinsville section of Northbridge, died Saturday, July 13, at home.

She leaves her parents, Christopher P. and Pamela J. (Ramsey) Winchester of Upton; a son, Tyreque R.W. Hargrave of Whitinsville; a daughter, Nuala L.B. Winchester of Whitinsville; her fiancee, Richard T. Hargrave; a brother, Paul D. Winchester of Upton; a sister, Kristin L. Gouin of Woonsocket, R.I.; her paternal grandmother, Dorothy (Driscoll) Winchester of Schenectady, N.Y.; nieces and nephews. She was born in Framingham, and graduated from Cape Cod Regional Technical High School, specializing in culinary arts and sheet metal.

Ms. Winchester worked at Wal Mart in Whitinsville for the past three years. She enjoyed fishing, camping and the outdoors.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, July 19, in Buma Funeral Home, 480 Church St., Whitinsville. Burial will be private at a later date. Calling hours are 1 to 3 p.m. Friday, July 19, in the funeral home. Ann E. Scanlon, 65

WEBSTER - Ann E. Scanlon, 65, of 8 Golden Heights, a retired cutter, died Saturday, July 20, in UMass Memorial Medical Center - University Campus, Worcester.

She leaves a brother, Thomas J. Scanlon of Deerfield; a sister, Mary Sumner of Moosup, Conn.; nephews and nieces. Two brothers, Donald and Bernard Scanlon, and a sister, Margaret Scanlon, predeceased her. She was born in the Quinebaug section of Thompson, daughter of James and Alice (Ryan) Scanlon, and lived most of her life in Webster. She attended St. Louis High School.

Miss Scanlon was a cutter at B&W Shoe Co. for 30 years, retiring in 1987. She was a member of St. Louis Parish. She enjoyed bingo, crochet and cards.

A memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 23, in St. Louis Church, 15 Lake St. A private graveside service will be held in Calvary Cemetery, Dudley. There are no calling hours. Please omit flowers. Memorial donations may be made to American Kidney Fund, 6110 Executive Blvd., Suite 1010, Rockville, MD 20852; or to Hubbard Regional Dialysis Center, Thompson Road, Webster, MA 01570. Scanlon Funeral Service, East Main Street, is directing arrangements.
