Anthony Pandolfino, 92
Barnstable Anthony Pandolfino, 92, who leaves family on the Cape, died Tuesday, April 20, 1999 at the Hospice House of Cape Cod in Barnstable.
Mr. Pandolfino was born in Boston and lived in Framingham since 1984.
He was a heavy machine operator for Plasticrete Co. of Acton for 35 years until retiring in 1968.
Surviving are two sons, Peter J. Pandolfino of Mashpee and Joseph K. Pandolfino of Ashland; a daughter, Josephine M. Pandolfino of Centerville; a sister, Santa Fornaro of Sicily; a brother, Placido Pandolfino of Sicily; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Marie I. Barrows, 80
Hyannis - Marie I. (Crowley) Barrows, 80, a longtime resident of Hyannis, died Sunday, May 2, 1999 at Cranberry Pointe Care Center in Harwich.
She was the wife of John J. Barrows, who died in 1998.
Born, raised and educated in Lowell, Mrs. Barrows moved to Hyannis in 1942.
She was employed previously as a certified nurse's aide at the former Whitcomb Pavilion in Hyannis.
Mrs. Barrows was a communicant of St. Francis Xavier Church in Hyannis. A member of the Women's Guild, she served as president for eight years. Because of her devotion and service to the church, Mrs. Barrows received the Marian Medal.
She was a Cub Scout and 4-H leader as well as a member of the Emblem Club of the Hyannis Lodge of Elks.
She is survived by two sons, John Barrows of Raleigh, N.C., and James Barrows of Lowell; six daughters, Alyce Day and Betty Downey, both of Centerville, Joan Leeman of Plymouth, Judie Scoffeld of Mashpee, Donna Bowman of South Yarmouth and Mary Lou Shields of Osterville; a brother, Thomas Crowley of Chelmsford; 21 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Burial was in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery
in Centerville.
Russell V. Booth, 52
Centerville - Russell V. Booth, 52, a Vietnam veteran and former federal employee, died Sunday, May 2, 1999 at home.
He was the husband of Sandera J. Booth.
Born in Boston, he was raised and educated in Arlington. He was a 1965 graduate of Weymouth High School.
After high school, Mr. Booth entered the Air Force and served in Vietnam from 1967 to 1968. He retired from the Air Force in 1970 and began working for the federal government at the Social Security Administration. In 1991, he began working at the General Services Administration in the Thomas P. O'Neill Federal Building in Boston.
He and his family moved to Centerville in 1995. After moving to the Cape, Mr. Booth continued to work and keep active in the Boston area. He was heavily involved in the creation of the Men's Senior Baseball League. He managed the Arlington Pirates and the Somerville Sox.
He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed tending to his yard.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Jeffrey Booth of Paris, Gregory Booth of Medway and Ryan Booth of Somerville; two daughters, Holly Jacob and Amy Booth, both of Centerville; three sisters, Jacqueline A. Splaine of Manchester, Roberta Sibley of Yarmouth and Cheri Booth-Kirkman of Boston; and two grandchildren.
Mary M. Halloran, 77
Barnstable - Mary Margaret Halloran, 77, of Newtonville, died Thursday, April 29, 1999 at Hospice House in Barnstable.
Born in Waltham, she worked as an administrative assistant at the Continental Can Co. in Needham for 36 years before her retirement.
She is survived by three sisters, Helen G. Benger of West Yarmouth, Claire H. Kling of South Yarmouth and Peggy M. Finnemore of West Dennis; a brother, John J. Halloran of South Yarmouth; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Burial was at Calvary Cemetery
in Waltham.

Irene N. Small, 93
Hyannis - Irene N. (Prahar) Small, 93, a former resident of Cotuit and Osterville, died Friday, April 30, 1999 at Cape Cod Hospital Extended Care CommunityManor.
She was the wife of Carlton W. Small, who died in 1991.
She was born and raised in New York City and attended boarding school.
Mrs. Small worked for many years as a housekeeper for private homes in Cotuit
A longtime resident of Cotuit, she lived in Osterville from 1963 to 1991. She then settled in Hyannis.
Mrs. Small loved animals, birds, flowers and children.
Surviving are a son, Walter N. Lutz of Hyannis; a grandson, Ronald A. Lutz of Hyannis; a granddaughter, Deborah A. Thew of Osterville; and three great-grandchildren.
Burial was in Mosswood Cemetery, Cotuit.

Leroy J. Williams, 84
Centerville - Leroy Joseph Williams, 84, a record-setting swimmer, died Wednesday, April 21, 1999 at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis after a brief illness.
He was the husband of Beryl Williams.
Born in New York City, he graduated from DeWitt Clinton High School and went on to attend City College of New York. After school, he joined the 369th Infantry Regiment New York National Guard.
Mr. Williams joined the New York City Police Department before transferring to the New York court system where he served as a court officer before becoming head of 'Jury and Paneling,' a position he retained until retirement.
After retiring in 1976, Mr. Williams and his wife moved to Centerville where he became a member of the Doers Club.
In his youth, he was a renowned swimmer and member of Harlem's Shark Swimming Team, which was associated with the Harlem YMCA. The team entered many tournaments on the East Coast. In the Middle Atlantic American Athletic Union (A.A.U.) Tournament in Washington . Mr. Williams won the individual men's High Point Trophy by winning the 100 yard freestyle, the 150 yard backstroke and the 200 yard freestyle. At this tournament he set a new Washington A.A.U. record of 28.8 seconds, beating by four-tenths of a second the record held by a member of the Washington Canoe Club, a team which he was unable to join because of his race.
Surviving besides his wife are a son, Michael Williams of Palm Beach, Fla.; a daughter, Joan West of New York City; three grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; a sister-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.
Delvina C. Byrd, 89
Cummaquid Delvina C. (Chabot) Byrd, 89, a resident of Cummaquid, died Monday, May 10, 1999 at her home.
She was the wife of the late Hugh W. Byrd.
Surviving are three sisters, Annette Flaherty of Cummaquid, with whom she lived, Dorothy Gage of Connecticut and Evelyn Gizzi of Brewster; two brothers, Joseph Chabot of New Bedford and Leo Chabot of Foxboro; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

George H. Callahan, 92
Centerville George H. Callahan, 92, a retired machinist, died Friday, May 14, 1999 at Cape Cod Hospital, Hyannis.
He was the husband of Marcella (Curtin) Callahan.
Born in New Brunswick, Canada, Mr. Callahan attended schools in Canada. He lived in Lynn for more than 60 years before moving to Centerville in 1998.
Mr. Callahart worked as a machinist for General Electric on aircraft engines in Lynn. He retired in 1970. After his retirement, he worked for the Greater Lynn Senior Citizen Center.
Surviving besides his wife are a son, Robert G. Callahan of Acton; a daughter, Laurie M. Baker of Centerville; four grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

John A. Collins, 79
Hyannis John A. Collins, 79, a home builder, died Friday, May 7, 1999 at his home after a long illness.
He was the husband of Marion A. (Stackhouse) Collins.
Mr. Collins was born in Chicopee Falls and moved to Hyannis when he was six years old.
He was a builder all his life, building many fine homes in Centerville and Marstons Mills.
Surviving besides his wife are a daughter, Gail Gannon of Marstons Mills; four grandsons; and four great-grandchildren.
He was also the father of the late John A. Collins Jr.

Constance Copelakis, 88
Hyannis Constance "Connie" (Yanaris) Copelakis, 88, a longtime Hyannis resident, died Sunday, May 9, 1999 at the Cape Cod Hospital Extended Care CommunityManor after a long illness.
She was the wife of the late Alexander N. Copelakis.
Born in Asia Minor, Mrs. Copelakis was raised on the island of Crete. She immigrated to Boston and then settled in Hyannis in the 1930s.
She worked with her husband, a restaurateur and chef in the Harborside Restaurant in Orleans and the Old Salt Restaurant in Hyannis, businesses they owned and operated for many years.
Mrs. Copelakis was a founding member of the parish of St. George Greek Orthodox Church of Cape Cod and a founding member and member of the board of directors of the Ladies Auxiliary, St. Katherines' Philoptochos Society. She and her husband hosted many fund-raising events to benefit the church.
Mrs. Copelakis is survived by many relatives in Greece.
Burial was in Mosswood Cemetery.
