Deborah J. Sankey

Deborah J. Sankey, 69; loving mother, grandmother, friend and companion to many creatures great and small

Debbie Sankey, a resident of Hull and Chappaquiddick died peacefully at home, surrounded by her children, on Tuesday, September 7th.

She will be forever remembered as an avid walker, photographer, conservationist, teacher, equestrian, shepherdess and artist who spent much time by the ocean.

Most recently her dream came to fruition as an accomplished farmer on the island dearest to her heart.

Tending to her sheep, gardens, and birds gave her much peace and solace.

Deb made fast friends with her neighbors; her smile and grace touched many; and her great love and dedication to family was an extraordinary example for us all.

Although Deb made time for quiet reflection and contemplation, she never hesitated to put on her party sneakers and dance until dawn.

Her beauty radiated; she always lit up a room.

Even through the darkest storm, Deb's courage and strength allowed her to find a silver lining in the most challenging situations.

She was the truest of confidants to her children and grandchildren whose love for her is precious and deep.

She is survived by her children Jason, Emily and Jessica; grandchildren Sarah and Olivia; sister Leslie; and her extended family and many dear friends.

Our family would like to thank hospice for their gentle care and guidance, especially to Ann Ledden whose support was immeasurable.

A private service is being held on Tuesday, September 14th at Hingham cemetery.

A Memorial service with friends and family will take place in October at World's End in Hingham.

Details to follow.

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Deborah J. Sankey Tribute/Honor Fund through the MSPCA (mspca.org).

Erick Vernon Clements
January 26, 1981

On Saturday August 28, 2010 we lost our son, brother, nephew, grandson, and friend.

In 2003 Erick suffered a work-related injury resulting in serious head trauma, complications from that accident took their toll since then.

Erick grew up an island kid and attended Vineyard schools, where he made quite an impression on those that taught him and those that got to know him. Erick cared deeply for his friends, he loved his family and admired those close to him.

Always mischievous, often strongly opinionated, Erick was one of a kind.

He was an amazing athlete; especially baseball where it was said Erick could cover the entire outfield on his own.

He cherished sports legends such as Ruth, Mantle, Payton, Earnhardt, Marciano, and Ali.

He was a movie connoisseur with a seemingly photographic memory by being able to recall actor’s names and lines at the drop of a hat.

Erick took pride in working and became inspired by carpentry while attending programs to better his occupational skills.

Erick is survived by his parents Albert and Vera-Jean, older brother Albert, sister-in-law Becky, younger sister Summer-Anne, Grandpa Jernegan, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Erick was predeceased by his grandmothers Marilyn Jernegan and Lorraine Clements, and grandfather Albert Clements II.
