Eva I. Walker, 85

Centerville - Eva I. (Kopp) Walker, 85, formerly of East Hartford, Conn., died May 13, 2002, at Cape Cod Hospital Extended Care Community-Pavilion after complications from a stroke.
Born in Leipzig, Germany, multi-talented in music and art, she was a cosmetology graduate in Germany.
She worked for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft Corp. She moved from Connecticut to Cape Cod in 1985. She was devoted to her family, church, and cat.
Survivors include two daughters, Gabrielle Budd and Lee Gibbs, both of Centerville; and a grandson.
A funeral Mass was celebrated in Our Lady of Victory Church in Centerville.
Burial was in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Centerville.

Laura Eleanor Williams, 79

Orleans - Laura Eleanor Williams, 79, a resident of Orleans, died May 12, 2002, at Liberty Commons Nursing in Chatham.
She was born in Barnstable, and raised and educated in Orleans. She graduated from Orleans High School and was a graduate of a business college in Brockton.
During World War II, she worked for the defense department in Ohio and Washington . After the war, she worked at Acme Laundry in Chatham in the accounting department for 17 years. She then worked for the Hyannis Co-op bank for several years in accounting, then at Brewster Town Hall in various departments for several years.
She was a member of the Orleans United Methodist Church. She was an animal and ocean lover.
Survivors include her cousins, Jean Bollas, Alberto and Leland Williams of Orleans, Isabelle Richardson and Leonora Surrey, both of Brewster, also several cousins in Newfoundland.
A funeral was held in the Orleans United Methodist Church. Burial followed in Orleans Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Orleans United Methodist Building Fund, Main Street, Orleans MA 02653.

Marion S. Carlson, 85

Marstons Mills - Marion S. Carlson, 85, of Marstons Mills and formerly of Sagamore, died May 18, 2002, at her home.
She was the wife of the late Richard E. Carlson.
Mrs. Carlson was born in Hyde Park and moved to Cape Cod in 1945. She was an air raid warden and a volunteer with the Braintree fire brigade during World War II.
She assisted in the family business, Carlson's Pharmacy, for many years.
She was a seamstress at Weddings by Maybelle in Sagamore, and a secretary for Hospice of Cape Cod for seven years.
Mrs. Carlson was active in the Swift Memorial United Methodist Church in North Sagamore, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She enjoyed gardening and time spent with her family.
Surviving are three daughters, Linda White of Marstons Mills, Judy Green of Portland, Ore., and Pat Keebler of Okeechobee, Fla.; a brother, Warren Schwab of Sanibel, Fla.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four nieces; and three nephews.
A thanksgiving celebration for her life was held at Swift Memorial United Methodist Church, Sagamore. Burial followed in Sagamore Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Cape Cod, 270 Communication Way, Hyannis, MA 02601; or to the Learning Center for Deaf Children, 848 Central St., Framingham, MA 01701.

Keith B. Cirigliano, 34

Marstons Mills - Keith B. Cirigliano, 34, a resident of Marstons Mills, died unexpectedly May 22, 2002, in Sandwich.
He was the husband of Heidi (Lyons) Cirigliano.
Mr. Cirigliano was born in Lawrence and raised and educated in Methuen, graduating from Methuen High School in 1986.
After graduation, he attended Northeastern University in Boston.
For several years, he was employed by a subsidiary of Boston Globe Newspapers.
Mr. Cirigliano moved to the Cape in 1995, first to Dennis, and then to Marstons Mills.
He was a master elect of Fraternal Lodge AF&AM of Centerville.
He was also a member of the Order of the Amaranth and the Orient Royal Arch Chapter, both in Centerville.
He was a member of the church committee of the Unitarian Church of Barnstable.
Mr. Cirigliano was an aquatic instructor with the YMCA in Lawrence for many years and a volunteer with the Merrimack Valley Samaritans.
He loved spending time with his family and friends.
He also loved his animals and leaves behind Britta and Dooley.
Besides his wife, survivors include his mother and stepfather, M. Christine Burkinshaw and Robert W. Burkinshaw of North Andover; two sisters, Tracey Cirigliano of Methuen and Amy Cirigliano of Portland, Maine; his paternal grandmother, Anna Cirigliano of Rhode Island; a stepbrother, Craig Burkinshaw of Salem; a stepsister, Jaclyn Burkinshaw of North Andover; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A service was held at the Unitarian Church of Barnstable.

Virginia D. Crawford

Topsfield - Virginia D. Crawford, a resident of Topsfield and Cotuit, died May 21, 2002, after a brief illness.
She was the wife of William J. Crawford for 51 years.
She lived in Topsfield for nearly 50 years and summered in Cotuit for more than 20 years. She was one of the founding members of Trinity Episcopal Church of Topsfield and was a longtime member of the Trinity Altar Guild.
Before Topsfield, Mrs. Crawford resided in Chestnut Hill and Wellesley. She graduated from Chevy Chase College, and served in the Boston unit of the Red Cross Motor Corps during World War II.
During her years in Topsfield, she was very active in town activities, serving as Brownie and Girl Scout leader, an active member of the Topsfield Boxford Community Club and was the co-founder of the BoxTop Shop, where she remained active for more than 20 years. Mrs. Crawford was co-curator of the Topsfield Historical Society for more than 25 years.
She was an avid gardener, active in the Topsfield Garden Club, and also served as president of the New Meadows Garden Club.
Besides her husband, survivors include a daughter, Susan Scarborough of Houston, Texas ; a brother, Howard G. Davis of Cape Cod; a granddaughter; and two nephews.
A memorial service was held at Trinity Episcopal Church in Topsfield.
Memorial donations may be made to the Brain Tumor Foundation, 142 Watertown St., Suite 3H, Watertown, MA 02472; to Hospice of the North Shore, 10 Elm St., Danvers, MA 01923; to the American Cancer Society; or to the charity of one's choice.

Jeannette L. Donoghue, 69

Hyannis - Jeannette L. (Cotell) Donoghue, 69, a native of Hyannis, died May 23, 2002, at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis.
She was the wife of Richard E. Donoghue Sr., who died in 1967.
Born in Hyannis, educated in Barnstable schools, she was active in the Girl Scouts in the town of Barnstable and received the Marian Medal. A member of Daughters of Isabella, she volunteered at Hyannis East Elementary School and was a communicant of St. Francis Xavier Church in Hyannis.
Survivors include three sons, Richard E. Donoghue Jr. of Mashpee, Michael E. Donoghue and Daniel A. Donoghue, both of Hyannis; a daughter, Lori J. Morton of Hyannis; three sisters, Catherine Enos of Hyannis, Eleanor Conway of Bourbonnais, Ill., and Marjorie Aittaniemi of West Barnstable; 10 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Francis Xavier Church in Hyannis, with burial in Oak Neck Cemetery there.
Memorial donations may be made to the Hyannis Firefighters Relief Association, 95 High School Road Ext., Hyannis, MA 02601.

Esther Fife, 85

Marstons Mills - Esther (Macdonald) Fife, 85, a resident of Marstons Mills, died May 21, 2002, at Cape Heritage Nursing Home in Sandwich.
She was the wife of the late John Edward Fife.
Born, raised and educated in Charlestown, she later moved to Medford.
Mrs. Fife was a graduate of Boston Clerical School. She worked as a secretary for an advertising business, Alexander Ross in Boston, for several years, leaving to become a homemaker and raise her family.
She lived in Winthrop for several years before moving to Marstons Mills in the early 1970s. She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Osterville.
Survivors include three sons, John E. Fife Jr. of Winthrop, and Robert J. Fife and Anthony P. Fife, both of Marstons Mills; two daughters, Jean McLeish and Mary Ann Caldwell, both of Falmouth; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Osterville, with burial in Beechwood Cemetery there.
Memorial donations may be made to Rosie's Place, 889 Harrison Ave., Boston, MA 02118; to Hospice & Palliative Care of Cape Cod, 270 Communication Way, Hyannis, MA 02601; or to the charity of one's choice.

Robert N. Maher, 76

Marstons Mills - Robert N. Maher, 76, a Marstons Mills resident and also of Andover and Mattapoisett for many years, died May 18, 2002, in Sandwich.
He was the husband of Jean Holland Maher of Marstons Mills.
Born and raised in Wakefield, he was a Navy veteran, serving in World War II. He worked for the Massachusetts Department of Public Works for 43 years, retiring in 1990.
Besides his wife, survivors include two daughters, Deborah S. Maher of Brookline and Candace M. Ginter of Marstons Mills; two sons, Peter S. Maher of Marstons Mills and Timothy C. Maher of Wisconsin; two brothers, H. James Maher of Connecticut and Ronald P. Maher of Moultonboro, N.H.; three sisters, Caryl Doucette of Pelham, N.H., Jane Shores of Weston and Judith Bringola of Wakefield; and three grandchildren.
Burial in Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne will be private.
