William H. Rider, 75, died unexpectedly at the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Thursday, March 3. He was the husband of Eleanor C. (Collins) Rider. Born in Paterson, NJ, he was educated in Paterson schools and graduated from Columbia University in New York. Mr. Rider was a Brockton resident since 1979. He was an engineer at Raytheon in Norwood and Quincy for 20 years before retiring in 1991.
In addition to his wife, Eleanor, Mr. Rider is survived by his sons, Clifford T. Rider of ME, William R. Rider of Ayer and Scott M. Rider of CT and his daughter, Erin C. McKenna of VT. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Jane Vander Wende.
Memorial Service will be held from the Farley Funeral Home 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Tuesday at 10 AM. Visiting Hours omitted. Donations in William's name may be made to the Blue Hills Alzheimer's Care Ctr., 1044 Park St., Stoughton, 02072.

CYRIL S. "STAN" LEWIS, JR.

Funeral Service: Thursday, March 3, 10 AM, Faith Baptist Church, 18 Stoughton St., Stoughton.
Cyril S. "Stan" Lewis, Jr., 77, died at the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Sunday, February 27 surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Helen M. (Catalano) Lewis for 51 years. A lifelong Stoughton resident, he was educated in Stoughton Schools and Norfolk County Agricultural School in Walpole. Mr. Lewis was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II. He was a heavy equipment operator with the Local 4 in Boston for many years. He was also the owner of Meadowbrook Campground in S. Easton for 25 years and KOM Tree & Landscaping for 25 years. Mr. Lewis was a longtime member of the Faith Baptist Church in Stoughton. In his free time he enjoyed painting, woodcarving, gardening, teaching and spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife Helen, Mr. Lewis is survived by his sons, Brian E. Lewis and his wife Pamela of Bridgewater, Douglas E. Lewis and his wife Heather of Easton and Mark E. Lewis and his wife Karen of Groton, as well as his sisters, Elaine Davis of E. Bridgewater, Eleanor Gaibl and Mildred Morrill both of Stoughton. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Gary E. Lewis and his sisters, Elsie Paine, Evelyn Kundrodt and Esther Lewis.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Service at Faith Baptist Church, Stoughton at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Wednesday 4-8 PM. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Stoughton. JOHN G. SERPA

John G. Serpa, 79, died Sunday at the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton after a long period of failing health. He was the husband of Maria H. (Lopes) Serpa. Born in Flores, Azores, Portugal, he moved to the United States in 1966, settling in Stoughton. He became a United States Citizen in 1975. Mr. Serpa worked as an assembler at Digital in Boston for many years, retiring several years ago. He was a member of the Clube Luis de Camoes and San Joao Filharmonic Society both in Stoughton. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing and gardening.
In addition to his wife Maria, he is survived by his children: Celina M. "Sally" Fraga of Stoughton, Judy M. Townsend of Sharon, Avelino L. "Al" Serpa and Eddie L. Serpa both of Stoughton. He was the brother of Antonio G., Cecelia Freitas, and Deolinda Gomes all of Portugal, Bernadette Almeida of Stoughton and Francisco G. of CA. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Wednesday at 9: 15 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church at 10: 15 AM. Visiting Hours Tuesday 5-8 PM. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.

CHESTER A. SMITH

Chester A. Smith, 85, died Friday February 25 at the Goddard Rehabilitation Nursing Center in Stoughton after a long period of failing health. He was the husband of Florence F. (Minuchi) Smith. Born in Stoughton, he was a graduate of Stoughton Schools, class of 1937 and Boston College, class of 1950. He was a WWII Veteran of the US Navy. Mr. Smith was a member of the Naval Reserves for over 30 years. Mr. Smith worked as a chemist for Avon Sole in Avon for over 20 years and prior to that for Plymouth Rubber for 10 years. He had been retired for over 15 years. In his free time, he enjoyed woodworking and watching the Patriots, Red Sox and Celtics.
In addition to his wife Florence, he is survived by his children: Chester I. Smith, Noreen F. Pope, Stephen W. Smith, Patricia J. Smith-Allen, Mark E. Smith, Deborah A. Connors, David A. Smith and Thomas J. Smith. He was predeceased by 2 brothers and 1 sister. Mr. Smith is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild and 1 sister.
A Funeral Mass will be held in the Immaculate Conception Church, 122 Canton St., Stoughton on Tuesday at 9 AM. Visiting Hours Omitted. Donations in Chet's memory may be made to the Recreational Services Fund, VA Hospital, 940 Belmont St., Brockton, 02301. Burial will be private.

JOHN R TOBIN III

Funeral Mass: Tuesday, March 1, 10: 15 AM, Immaculate Conception Church, 122 Canton St. Stoughton.
John R. Tobin III, 54, died unexpectedly at the Jordan Hospital in Plymouth after suffering a heart attack. He was the husband of Susan A. (Kosinski) Tobin. Born in Quincy, he was raised in Stoughton and a graduate of Stoughton Schools. Mr. Tobin was a resident of Carver for over 30 years and active in town youth sports. Mr. Tobin worked as a manager for Verizon for 30 years. He also worked as a police officer in the Town of Carver for 5 years many years ago. He was a graduate of the Massachusetts Police Academy. Mr. Tobin was a member of the Upland Sportsman Club in Plympton. He was active in youth sports in Carver as a baseball coach for 22 years and a football coach for many. He loved baseball and enjoyed teaching baseball to kids. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, John C. and his girlfriend Alison Wilson and Keith R. and his wife Caitlyn all of Carver. He was the son of John R. Jr. and Anna M. (McStowe) of Stoughton. Mr. Tobin was the brother of Thomas F. of Norwood, Barbara Fobert of Attleboro, Michael J. of Stoughton and Kenneth J. of TX. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Tuesday at 9: 15 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church at 10: 15 AM. Visiting Hours Monday 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Donations in John's name may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 101A First Ave, Suite 6, Waltham 02451. Burial will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.

WILLIAM J. MACKIE

Graveside Service: Monday, February 28, 12: 30 PM, Knollwood Memorial Park, High St. Canton.
William J. Mackie, 75, died Friday, February 25 at his home. He was the husband of the late Vera G. "Rusty" (Coughlin) Mackie. Born in Boston, he was a graduate of Milton High School, Class of 1947. He was a US Army Veteran of the 82nd Airborne during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Mackie worked as a machinist at the Fore River Shipyard in Quincy for 37 years. He retired in 1988. In his free time, Mr. Mackie enjoyed reading, hockey and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his children, Katherine A. Paradis of Franklin, Kevin J. Mackie of Mansfield and Pauline T. Hurley of Stoughton. He was the grandfather of Teresa & Joseph Gwynn, Elizabeth, Emma & William Mackie and Jason, Kyle and Eric Paradis. He was the brother of Mary Maclay of Quincy and the late Robert Mackie. Mr. Mackie is also survived by his best friend Kathy Maguire.
Graveside Service will be held at Knollwood Memorial Park, High St., Canton (Enter from Canton St. off Rt. 27 Sharon) on Monday at 12: 30 PM. Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27), Stoughton on Sunday from 2-5 PM. Donations in Bill's name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, 01701.

CATHERINE A. O'NEIL

Funeral Mass: Monday, February 28, 9 AM, St. James Church, 560 Page St. Stoughton.
Catherine A. O'Neil, 89, died Friday, February 25, 2005 at the Copley at Stoughton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Stoughton after a period of failing health. Born in Boston, she was a resident of Stoughton for over 11 years after living in Quincy for many years. Miss O'Neil was a graduate of Boston Schools. She was a longtime worker for New England Telephone & Telegraph in Boston as a Telephone Operator, retiring many years ago.
Miss O'Neil is survived by her brother: William O'Neil of W. Roxbury. She was predeceased by her siblings Helen Walsh, George O'Neil and James O'Neil. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Monday at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. James Church at 9 AM. Visiting Hours Sunday 2-4 PM. Donations in Catherine's name may be made to the Old Colony Hospice, 14 Page Terr, Stoughton, 02072. Burial will follow at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.

MARY G.(MORRISON) MYERS

Mary G. (Morrison) Myers, 75, died at home in Stoughton on Thursday, February 24 after a period of failing health. She was the wife of Edward B. Myers. Born and raised in Jamaica Plain, Mrs. Myers was a graduate of Blessed Sacrament School in Jamaica Plain and Roxbury Memorial High School, Class of 1946. She was a resident of Stoughton since 1971. Mrs. Myers was a housewife at home with her family.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Myers is survived by her children, Joan M. Campagna of Dedham, Michael E. Myers of Holden, Robert B. Myers of Bridgewater, John J. Myers of W. Bridgewater and Claire A. Cardoza of Berkley and her sisters, Margaret Curran of Canton and Helen Nugent of Rockland. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Cecelia Flanagan, Joseph Morrison, John Morrison and Martin Morrison.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Monday at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 9 AM. Visiting Hours Sunday 2-5 PM. Interment will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton. Donations in Mary's name may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 44 Binney St., Boston, 02115.

ADELE (DADAK) STASIEWICZ

Funeral Mass: Friday, February 25, 10: 15 AM, Immaculate Conception Church, 122 Canton St. Stoughton.
Adele (Dadak) Stasiewicz, 88, died Tuesday, February 22 at the Braemoor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Brockton. She was the wife of Walter Stasiewicz. Born in Boston, she was a longtime resident of Stoughton. Mrs. Stasiewicz was a homemaker. In her free time, she enjoyed poodles, playing scrabble and gardening.
In addition to her husband Walter, Mrs. Stasiewicz was the aunt of the Marek and Marysia Stasiewicz family and the John and Denise Kotlik family all of Stoughton and the sister in law of Margaret Dadak of Brockton. She is also survived by many other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, John Dadak.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday at 9: 15 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, at 10: 15 AM. Visiting Hours Thursday 3-6 PM. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Stoughton.

PEARL BANKS

Pearl Banks, 95, died Monday, February 21 at the Copley at Stoughton after a period of failing health. Born and educated in Boston, she was a longtime resident of Stoughton. She was a chamber maid and factory worker in the area for many years. Miss Banks was a longtime member of the Faith Baptist Church in Stoughton.
Funeral Service will be held from the Farley Funeral Home 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday at 1 PM. Visiting Hours omitted. Interment will be private.

KERRIE A. LARGE

Funeral Mass: Thursday, February 24, 10: 15 AM, Immaculate Conception Church, 122 Canton St. Stoughton.
Kerrie A. Large, 27, died Saturday, February 19 at the New England Medical Center in Boston. Born in Stoughton, she was a longtime resident of Stoughton and a graduate of Stoughton Schools. Miss Large also lived in Brockton before living in Manchester, NH. She enjoyed spending time with her children, family and writing.
She is survived by her children, Michelle Lee Large of Manchester, NH and Deon L Davidson Jr. of Brockton. She was the daughter of William F. "Billy" Large and Barbara A. (Nash) of Manchester, NH. She was the sister of Lisa M. Revell and Billie Jean Hallee both of NH, Jodi Hurley of Easton and the late Michelle Lee Salamone. She was the granddaughter of Carol A. Large of Stoughton and Dorothy Nash of NJ and the late Patrick B. Large and Lawrence Nash. She is also survived by the father of her children Deon L. Davidson of Brockton, a close friend Eric Holness of Brockton, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews cousins and her loving godmother Susan M. Crowley of Stoughton.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday at 9: 15 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, at 10: 15AM. Visiting Hours Wednesday 4-8 PM. Donations in Kerrie's name may be made to the New England Medical Center, 800 Washington St., Boston, 02111. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton.
