Mullen, Marc R.
Mullen, Marc R. age 44, of Quincy, May 24, 2004, after a long illness. Beloved husband of Sandra L. (Dwyer) Mullen. beloved father of Mandy Lehane and her fiance John Zwickert, both of Revere, Alicia and Marc Mullen, both of Quincy.Brother of Michael and Barry Mullen both of Dorchester, Noelene Drake of Fall River, Kathleen Donovan of Weymouth, Maureen Townsend of Quincy and the late Eileen Perry. Son of Nellie (McAvoy)Mullen-Bonspille of Quincy and the late Raymond T. Mullen. Step-son of the late Arthur Bonspille. Step-brother of Eric, Estherand William Bonspille, all of New Brunswick, Deborah, Trevor and Benny Bonspille, all of Quebec. Godfather of Michael daggett. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Kieran J. Regan
Kieran J. Regan, of Quincy, a plant operator for the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority, died after a brief illness at the New England Medical Center in Boston on Friday, May 7, 2004. He was 60.
Born in Boston, Mr. Regan was raised in South Boston. He attended South Boston High School and served in the Marines Corps following his graduation.
At the time of his death, Mr. Regan was serving as a plant operator at the Nut Island Sewage Treatment Facility in Quincy. He worked for the MWRA for many years and had previously been employed by the City of Quincy.
He was a member of the Houghs Neck American Legion Post and the Caddy Detachment of the Marine Corps League. He was also a member of the Quincy Yacht Club.
Beloved husband of the late Jane (Clauss) Regan. He is survived by his children Timothy Regan of Whitman, James Regan of Stewartsville, NJ Frederick Regan and Karen Schaaf both of Quincy, his father Kieran F. Regan of Quincy; three sisters Theresa Lamore of Tewksbury, Rosemary Rapson of Quincy and Margaret Gatulis of Milton. Kieran was also the devoted “Papa” of nine grandchildren and the son of the late Agnes (Jenness) Regan.
His funeral will be held from the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. (Off Hancock St.) QUINCY CENTER on Wednesday morning at 9:00 with a Funeral Mass in Most Blessed Sacrament Church at 10:00. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday 2-4, 7-9 PM. Interment Pine Hill Cemetery.

Donald C. Murray
Donald C. Murray, former Executive Director of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Boston, died suddenly Monday at the New England Medical Center in Boston. He was 72.
Born at home in Reading, Mr. Murray was raised in the town and was a 1949 graduate of Reading High School where he lettered in football and basketball. Mr. Murray served in the United States Coast Guard for two years before completing studies at Boston University.
Mr. Murray began his involvement with what was then known as the Boys Clubs of America as a volunteer and began working for the organization in the 1950’s. Known as a resilient, professional leader in youth work, he was appointed Assistant Executive Director of the Boys Clubs of Boston in 1961 and ascended to the position of Executive Director of the agency in 1967. He remained in that position until 1984 when he accepted the position of Executive Director of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Philadelphia. He retired from the Boys and Girls Clubs in 1987.
Upon his retirement, Mr. Murray returned to his home in Weymouth. He remained active working as a cabdriver for 15 years.
He was a member of the George Bryan VFW Post in Quincy.
Devoted husband of the late Barbara Ann (Chenette) Murray, Mr. Murray is survived by four children; Patricia Murray of Marshfield, Kathleen Yarus of Hull, Donald C. Murray, Jr. of South Boston and Walter S. Murray of NY, two brothers; Thomas and Richard Murray both of Reading, and two stepchildren; Neil D. Malick of Weymouth and Joanne Crook of Hanson. He was the son of the late Thomas C. and Mildred L. (Gillis) Murray and the stepfather of the late Stephen R. Malick and Teree Casey-Moore. Mr. Murray was also the proud grandfather of eight and great-grandfather of two.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Most Blessed Sacrament Church on Friday morning at 10:00. Burial with military honors will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held in the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. (Off Hancock St.) QUINCY CENTER on Thursday from 4:00-8:00 PM.

Rita C. (Morin) Bouchie
Rita C. (Morin) Bouchie, of Quincy, August 9, 2004. Beloved wife of the late Robert E. Bouchie. Beloved mother of Robert E., Jr. of N. Falmouth, Joseph A. Bouchie and Billie Joe Smith, both of Texas , Ellen M. Brundige of South Carolina and Kathleen A. Tripolone of Brockton. Sister of Marie Richards of Louisiana , Noreen Pajak of Arkansas and Gerald Morin of Florida. Also survived by 14 grandchildren and 17 great- grandchildren. George J. Thomas
Veteran George J. Thomas, of Quincy, a retired sheet metal worker, died Friday at the Mildred Alford Nursing Home in Abington following a long illness. He was 80.
Born in Quincy, Mr. Thomas was a lifelong resident of the city and a 1942 graduate of Quincy High School.
Mr. Thomas served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II.
A sheet metal worker, Mr. Thomas retired from Interstate Fabrication. He had also worked at the Fore River Shipyard.
Husband of the late Laura (Taddia) Thomas, Mr. Thomas is survived by four children Gregory A., Steven E., Barbara A. and George C. Thomas all of Quincy, a sister Jean Brodeur of Kingston, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Service will be held in the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. (Off Hancock St.) QUINCY CENTER on Friday morning at 10:00. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Inurnment Mt. Wollaston Cemetery.

Allison, Winifred "Winnie" (Mitchelson) of Quincy, September 28, 2004 at age 99. Beloved wife of the late Robert S. Allison. Beloved mother of Robert S. Allison and Catherine S. McCann, both of Quincy. Sister of Alex Mitchelson of Quincy and the late Ann Hart, and Thomas and Andrew Mitchelson. Grandmother of Alyson McCann of Rhode Island , Richard McCann of Hingham, Catherine Mori of Plymouth and Kristen Lacasse of Milton. Great-grandmother of Richard, Emma, Sarah, Maggie, Ryan and Caroline. Funeral from the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Qincy Center on Saturday, October 2 at 9:00am. Interment Mount Wollaston Cemetery. Born in Dundee, Scotland, Winnie settled in the Quincy area in 1923. She was a homemaker and a member of the Ward 2 Civic Association, The Daughters of Scotia, the Quincy Democratic City Committee and a life member of Quincy Point Congregational Church.

Patricia Frances (Barrett) Frey
Patricia Frances (Barrett) Frey, a former teacher and U.S. Navy veteran, died November 21, 2004 in the Nursing Home Care Unit (NHCU) of the VA Medical Center in Menlo Park, CA. She was 76 years old and had been a resident of the nursing home for several years.
Pat was born to Edward and Rita (Collins) Barrett in Quincy, MA on March 12, 1928. She was raised in Quincy and was a graduate from Notre Dame Academy and Emmanuel College, which were both in Boston. After receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree, she went on to pursue graduate work at Boston University receiving a Masters Degree in Education.
She taught fourth grade in the Quincy Public Schools for two years before entering the United States Navy Reserves in 1953.
In 1955, Pat was sworn into the regular Navy as a Lieutenant. She served as the Education Officer and Officer in Charge of the WAVES Barracks at the Naval Air Station in Norfolk, VA. She later served as the Communications Superintendent at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth.
She married Lt. Emil J. Frey on October 28, 1956 and received her discharge from the Navy in 1957 to have the first of her three children. She raised her family in Los Altos, CA where she served as a Girl Scout Leader and an active member of St. Simon’s Church.
Pat was a bright woman with a gentle demeanor, loving spirit and kind heart. She will be missed by all who knew her, especially the family she leaves behind.
Pat is survived by her devoted relatives: her sister Frances Barrett of Quincy, MA, her daughters Pat Frey, Jr. and her husband John Jelleberg of Los Gatos, CA and Mary Frey and her husband Steve Barr of Davis, CA; a son James Edward “Jef” Frey and his wife Stephanie of Chicago, IL and her grandsons David Barr of Davis, CA and Logan and Jordon Frey of Chicago, IL.
A Celebration of Pat’s Life will be held in the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. (Off Hancock St.) QUINCY CENTER on Friday, December 3, 2004 beginning at 11:00 AM culminating in a prayer service at 1:00 PM Interment with Military Honors will follow in Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree, Massachusetts.
Donations in Pat’s memory can be made to the VA NHCU, VA General Post Fund, Volunteer Service 795 Willow Road,Menlo Park CA, 94025.

Holmes, Irene T.(McNeil), of Braintree, formerly of Quincy Point, December 2, 2004. Beloved wife of the late James F. "Scotty" Holmes. Beloved mother of James J. of New Jersey, and Heather M. and her husband Peter I. Thompson of Braintree. Devoted grandmother of P.J., Ryan, Joshua and Alison. Sister of John Walter McNeil of Dorchester, James M. McNeil and Ann K. Brown, both of Quincy, Mary C. Walsh of Weymouth, and the late Urban "Mac" McNeil, Florence "Marie" Murphy and Joseph McNeil. Also survived by many nieces and nephews, dear friends and Bingo Buddies. Funeral from the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center on Monday, December 6, at 9:00AM. Mary G. (Gillis) MacDonald
Mary G. (Gillis) MacDonald, a retired secretary, died Thanksgiving Day, November 25 at Quincy Medical Center following a brief illness. She was 97.
Born in Margaree, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada, Mrs. MacDonald lived on her family's farm as a child and attended the one room schoolhouse in Margaree. She came to the United States in 1927 and settled in the Boston where she graduated from Boston Business School. She lived in the Dorchester section of Boston for many years before moving to Quincy.
Mrs. MacDonald was retired from the University of Massachusetts at Boston where she worked as a secretary in the Chemistry Department. She also prepared taxes for H and R Block and later, volunteered her time preparing taxes at the Quincy Council on Aging.
She was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church in Quincy.
Mrs. MacDonald enjoyed spending time with her grandsons and playing cribbage. She also played bingo and enjoyed bowling.
The beloved wife of the late Angus MacDonald, Mrs. MacDonald was the beloved mother of Owen J. and his wife Paula (Leyland) MacDonald and the grandmother of James Leyland MacDonald and Peter Leyland MacDonald both of Quincy. She was also the sister of Roderick Gillis, Theresa MacAdam and Agnes Volbert all of Canada.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. John the Baptist Church on Wednesday, December 1 at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester.
Visiting hours will be held in the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. (Off Hancock St.) QUINCY CENTER on Tuesday from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 PM.
Donations in Mary's memory may be made to Boston Catholic Television 55 Chapel Rd. Newtonville, MA 02460.
