Conio John Arrigo

May 29, 1923 - November 18, 2003

Arrigo - Conio John of Winthrop, formerly of East Boston, on Tuesday November 18th, 2003.

Beloved husband of 53 years to Dorothy (Flammia) Arrigo.

Devoted father of Michael Arrigo and his wife Laura of Boxford, Ted Arrigo and his wife Lynne of South Yarmouth, Catherine Smaila and her husband Sergio of West Newbury, and Marie Hamilton and her husband Philip of Winthrop.

Dear brother of Lena Larsen of Winthrop, Gloria Glennon of East Boston, Anthony Arrigo of North Andover, and the late Philip and George Arrigo.

Cherished grandfather of Jenna, Jonathan, Alexandra, Michael, Christopher, Philip, Robert, Sergio and Mark. Also lovingly survived by many fond nieces and nephews.

Funeral from the Ruggiero-Mazzarella Memorial Home, 971 Saratoga Street (Orient Heights) East Boston on Friday November 21st, 2003 at 9:00am. Funeral Mass in the St. John the Evangelist Church, 320 Winthrop Street, Winthrop at 10:00am. Visiting hours are on Thursday from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.

Conio was born in Boston in 1923. He grew up in East Boston before moving to Winthrop. Conio was a US Army veteran of WWII and worked for many years as an installer for ADT Alarms. He was a past member of the Orient Heights Civic Club. Conio passed away at home after a brief illness surrounded by his loving family. He was 80 years of age.

The Memorial Home is handicapped accessible and a children's lounge is available. Courtesy valet parking at the front entrance and ample off street parking is also available. For transportation to the memorial home please call 617-569-0990.

Services will conclude with Conio being laid to rest in the Belle Isle section of Winthrop Cemetery in Winthrop.

John F. Avellar Jr.

January 11, 1928 - September 7, 2001

Avellar - John F. Jr. of East Boston on Friday September 7, 2001.

Beloved husband of the late Alice (Andrade). Devoted father of John F. the III and his wife Elizete of East Boston, and Debra and her husband John "Babe" DeFronzo of Lynn. Dear brother of Ella Gordan of Raymond New Hampshire, Irene Clark of Brighton MA, Carolyn Sizensky of Seekonk MA, and the late Mary "May" Amicangioli. Also lovingly survived by three grandchildren; Taylor, Alexandra and Sophia DeFronzo.

Funeral from the Ruggiero-Mazzarella Memorial Home, 971 Saratoga Street (Orient Heights) East Boston on Monday September 10 at 9:00am. Funeral Mass in St.Mary Star of the Sea Church, 63 Moore Street, East Boston at 10:00am. Visiting hours are on Sunday September 9 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.

John was born in East Boston in 1928 and remained a resident for most of his life. He served his country in the US Navy as a Fireman 1st Class and was a veteran of WWII. John worked for many years as a machinery mechanic in the bakery industry. He passed away peacefully after a brief illness at the Presentation Manor Nursing Home in Brighton MA. He was 73 years old.

The Memorial Home is handicapped accessible and a children's lounge is available. Courtesy valet parking at the front entrance and ample off street parking is also available. For transportation to the memorial home please call 617-569-0990.

Services will conclude with John being laid to rest with his wife Alice at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.

Rose K. Bacigalupo

April 3, 1919 - November 13, 2003

Bacigalupo - Rose K. "Buddy" (Labadini) of Orient Heights, East Boston, passed away on Thursday November 13th, 2003.

Beloved wife of the late Walter Bacigalupo.

Devoted mother of Helen Lepore of West Roxbury, and Walter Bacigalupo and his wife Norine of Tewksbury.

Dear sister of the late Helen Labadini.

Cherished grandmother of Robert, Stephen and Roseann Lepore.

Also lovingly survived by many fond nieces and nephews.

Funeral from the Ruggiero-Mazzarella Memorial Home, 971 Saratoga Street, Orient Heights, East Boston on Monday, November 17th at 9:00 a.m. Funeral Mass in St. Joseph - St. Lazarus Church, 59 Ashley Street, East Boston at 10:00 a.m. Relative and friends are respectfully invited to attend.

Visiting hours are Sunday, November 16th from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.

Rose was born in East Boston in 1919. She worked for many years as a clerk at Jordan Marsh, and was a past member of the Courageous Generation in the St. Lazarus Parish. Rose died after a brief illness in the Massachusetts General Hospital. She was 84 years of age.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Rose's memory to the St. Joseph - St. Lazarus Church Building Fund, 59 Ashley Street, East Boston, MA 02128.

Services will conclude with Rose being laid to rest in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.

Edith Bartoli

May 23, 1915 - May 10, 2002

Bartoli - Edith (D'Ambrosio) of Orient Heights, East Boston, on Friday May 10, 2002.

Beloved wife of 55 years to the late Joseph G. Bartoli.

Devoted mother of Joseph A. "Rick" Bartoli of Chelsea, and Barbara Prader of East Boston.

Dear sister of Mary Zerella of Medford and Etta DePaulo of East Boston.

Loving grandmother of Richard R. Prader Jr. and his wife Noreen of East Boston, and Leah Quigley of Winthrop.

Cherished great-grandmother of Tiffani, Richard J., Christopher and Joelle.

Edith was born in Boston in 1915. She was founder of Bartoli-Barbary Oil and a homemaker. Edith passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family. She was 86 years old.

Memorial donations in Edith's memory may be made to the Beacon Hospice, 529 Main Street, Boston MA 02129.
