Edward J. Farrell

A Funeral Mass for Edward Joseph Farrell, 84, will be celebrated on Saturday, February 12, 2005, in the Church of Saint Patrick, Watertown.

Mr. Farrell was born in Watertown, on October 13, 1920 and was a graduate of Saint Patrick High School, Watertown. He furthered his education and attended Bentley School of Accounting, Boston and Boston University. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and was in the air offensive in Europe and Northern France.

When he resided in Dorchester he was a member of the Mass. Task Force for Dorchester and Columbia Point, a member of the Advisory Committee of Boston Housing Court (Chairman of the first meeting) and Chairman of the Dorchester Comprehensive Planning Program (this activity has resulted in Dorchester APAC receiving Federal and State funds for planning and rehabilitation of housing in Dorchester.)

Mr. Farrell was the Assistant Manager of a Little City Hall- Franklin Field and a major part of his duties was dealing with city agencies in regard to housing problems. He was a member of the Board of Dorchester APAC from 1969-1975, President of the Dorchester United Neighborhood Association, Chairman of the Local Advisory Council Parks and Recreation, Chairman of the Advisory Committee of Code Enforcement Program and Vice President of the Board of ABCD.

He had appeared on programs on Channel 2 focusing on neighborhoods and as a guest on the Reporters Program. He also answered an editorial on Channel 5 concerning Racial Imbalance in November of 1972.

From 1976-1986, he worked at Mass. Institute of Technology in the Shipping/Receiving Dept. Prior to that he had been a proprietor of the Rill Street Market. Mr. Farrell, a resident of Malden for the past 16 years, died on Tuesday, February 8, 2005, in the Whidden Memorial Hospital, Everett.

He leaves his wife of 50 years Bernice F. (Murray) Farrell of Malden; six children: John J. Farrell of Southboro, Michael B. Farrell of Billerica, Mary Bridget George of Mansfield, Noreen M. Buckley of Billerica, Bernice A. Farrell of Malden and Rita A. O’Keefe of Dorchester; a sister, Claire E. Giannetti of Natick; 9 grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

Son of the late John J. and Bridget M. (Finnegan) Farrell, he was also the brother of the late John M. Farrell, Nora Farrell and Mary Hoernig.

The Funeral will be from the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main St., on Rte. 20, Watertown, on Saturday at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 o'clock in the Church of Saint Patrick, 212 Main St., Watertown. Interment will be in Saint Patrick Cemetery, Watertown.

Calling hours will be on Friday, February 11th from 4-8 PM in the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home on Main Street. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.

Margaret M. Gleason

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday February 23, 2005 for Mrs. Margaret M. Gleason. Mrs. Gleason was born in Newton, a daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Connolly) Geegan. She was a 1934 graduate of Our Lady Help of Christians High School in Newton. She had been employed for many years as a telephone operator with the New England Telephone Company retiring in 1975. She had resided in Watertown for many years, summering in Green Harbor and currently was a resident of Waltham. Mrs. Gleason died on Saturday February 19, 2005 at the Maristhill Nursing Center in Waltham at the age of 87.

She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Robert D. Gleason, Sr. former director of Social Studies in the Town of Watertown, and inductee to the Watertown Hall of Fame for Track & Field. She is survived by her children: M. Patricia Giffen of Plymouth formerly of Walpole, Linda M. Driscoll of Hudson, Marilyn A. Robertson of No. Attleboro, Robert D. Gleason, Jr. and Brian M. Gleason both of Northboro. She was also survived by 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Mrs. Gleason was the sister of Esther N. Gallagher and Walter M. Geegan both of Waltham and the late Msgr. John J. Geegan and Mary Partridge.

Funeral Services will be held from the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home, 270 Main St. on Rt. 20, Watertown in WATERTOWN SQUARE at 6 Riverside St. (cnr. of No. Beacon St.) Watertown on Wednesday at 9:30 A.M. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 O’Clock in the Church of St. Patrick 212 Main St., Watertown. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Interment Calvary Cemetery, Waltham. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-8 PM.

Contributions may be made in Margaret’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association, 36 Cameron Ave. Cambridge, MA 02140. Retired employee New England Telephone.

Agnes T. MacDonald

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday March 1, 2005 for Mrs. Agnes T. MacDonald. Mrs. McDonald was born in Weymouth, a daughter of the late Walter J. and Marion F. (Drohan) Chamberlain. She grew up in Watertown and had been a graduate of Watertown High School. She had been a Watertown resident for over 75 years. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed bowling. Mrs. MacDonald died on Friday February 25, 2005 at the Kindred Hospital in Brighton at the age of 84.

She as the wife of the late Walter F. “Scotty” MacDonald, Sr. and is survived by her son Walter F. MacDonald, Jr., retired police officer, Watertown Police Dept. of Watertown; her daughter Lois Maniachi of Waltham. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Paula MacDonald, Lynne MacDonald, Christopher Maniachi and Matthew Maniachi, and her great granddaughter Haley Jean MacDonald.
She was the sister of Claire M. Maguire, Loretta E. McHugh and John J. Chamberlain all of Watertown, Walter Chamberlain of CA. and the late Rita J. Brown, Marion “Dorothy” Chapman, Louis Chamberlain, Vincent Chamberlain, Thomas Chamberlain and Constance Zimmerly.

Funeral from the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home 270 Main St. on Rt. 20, Watertown on Tuesday at 8:00 A.M. followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:00 O’Clock in the Church of St. Patrick, 212 Main St. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment Ridgelawn Cemetery.

Angeline M. McIsaac

Funeral Services will be held on Friday March 4, 2005 for Mrs. Angeline M. McIsaac. Mrs. McIsaac was born in Selkerk, Prince Edward Island, Canada, a daughter of the late Daniel and Flora (MacDonald) MacDonald. She had been a Watertown resident for over 65 years. She was on the Wait
Staff at the Harvard Club in Boston for over 26 years, retiring in 1981. Mrs. McIsaac died on Sunday February 27, 2005 at St. Patrick’s Manor in Framingham, MA at the age of 93.

She was predeceased by her husband Joseph R. McIsaac. She was the mother of James R. McIsaac of Watertown, Flora P. O’Connor and her husband Robert of Farmington ME, Frances Ann Stukey and her late husband Bill of Woburn, Helen Priest and her husband Richard of Maynard and Joan L. Camelli and her husband John of Milford. She is also survived by 17 Grandchildren, 41 Great Grandchildren and a Great Great Grandson.

Funeral Services will be held from the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home in WATERTOWN SQUARE at 6 Riverside St. (cnr. of No. Beacon St.) Watertown on Friday at 8:00 A.M. followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:00 O’Clock in the Church of St. Patrick 212 Main St. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Robert J. Munger

A Funeral Mass for Robert James Munger, 83, will be celebrated on Thursday, February 10, 2005, in the Church of Saint Patrick, Watertown.

Mr. Munger was born in Pittsfield, on December 30, 1921. He was a graduate of Framingham High School, Class of 1940 and served in the United States Army during World War II. Mr. Munger was in the campaigns in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland and Central Europe.

He was a member of the American Legion Nonantum Post 440, Newton and the 336th Combat Engineers Association. For 48 years he was an Owner/Operator of a Taxi at McCue’s Taxi, Watertown and as a hobby enjoyed model trains. Mr. Munger, a Watertown resident since 1939, died at his residence on Monday, February 7, 2005.

He leaves four children: Bonnie I. Perry of Linwood, Richard E. Odell of Waltham, Roberta “Dolly” Lowe of Waltham and Sheila Shea of Marlborough; a brother: Fred J. Munger of Watertown; two sisters: Margaret Burke of Natick and Sr. Theresa Munger RGS of Watertown; 7 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.

Husband of the late Sheila (Lally), he was the son of the late George and Flora (Elser) Munger; and brother of the late acting Watertown Chief of Police Walter T. Munger, George C. Munger and Harry R. Munger.

The Funeral will be from the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main St., on Rte. 20, Watertown, on Thursday at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 o'clock in the Church of Saint Patrick, 212 Main St., Watertown. Interment will be in Ridgelawn Cemetery, Watertown.

Calling hours will be on Wednesday, February 9th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home on Main Street. Relatives and friends kindly invited to attend.

SOPHIE P. JASON

A Funeral Mass for Sophie Philomena (Prusik) Jason, 87, will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 23, 2005 in the Church of Saint Luke, Belmont.

Mrs. Jason was born on Nov. 20, 1917 in Boston. She was a graduate of Hyde Park High School, Class of 1917, and had lived in Watertown for 50 years before moving to Dedham six months ago.

Mrs. Jason, a member of the Sodality and a daily communicant at Saint Luke Parish, was a retired manager of the Sears Roebuck Telephone Service. She died on Friday, February 18, 2005, in the Norwood Hospital, after a sudden illness.

She leaves two sisters: Helen I. Pasco of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio and Stella M. Buckley of Dedham; three brothers: Frank L. Prusik of North Reading, Chester Prusik of Hyde Park and Edmund Prusik of Randolph; many nieces and nephews including god-children.

Wife of the late Walter J. Jason who died in July 1989, she was the daughter of the late Gregory and Anna (Swed) Prusik and sister of the late Blanche R. Lynch and Sabina M. Demers.

The Funeral will be from the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main St., on Rte. 20, Watertown, on Wednesday at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 o'clock in the Church of Saint Luke, 132 Lexington St., Belmont. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Hyde Park.

Calling hours will be on Tuesday, February 22nd in the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home on Main Street. Relatives and friends kindly invited to attend.

John J. Scioli

A Funeral Mass for John Joseph Scioli, 82, will be celebrated on Monday, February 14, 2005, in the Church of Saint Patrick, Watertown.

Mr. Scioli, born in Watertown, on November 4, 1922, was a lifelong Watertown resident and attended Saint Patrick School. Mr. Scioli, a former employee of B.F. Goodrich/Hood Rubber Co. and DeStefano Construction, retired from Brandeis University Building and Grounds Department in 1983.

Mr. Scioli, a member of the Holy Name Society, was an usher at Saint Patrick Church for many years. He died on Friday evening, February 11, 2005, in the Caritas-St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center, Boston.

He leaves two sisters: Nellie Marifioti of Newtonville and Bridget Generizio of Leominster; a brother Thomas D. Scioli of Watertown; and nieces and nephews.

Son of Alexander and Clorinda (Cotone) Scioli, he was the brother of the late Rose DiRe, Dominic Scioli, Susan Rufo and Florence Scioli.

The Funeral will be from the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main St., on Rte. 20, Watertown, on Monday at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 o'clock in the Church of Saint Patrick, 212 Main St., Watertown. Interment will be in Saint Patrick Cemetery, Watertown.

Calling hours will be on Sunday, Feb. 13th from 2-5 PM in the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home on Main Street. Relatives and friends kindly invited to attend.

Priscilla M. Wellington

Funeral Services will be held for Mrs. Priscilla M. Wellington. Mrs. Wellington was born in Boston, MA, a daughter of the late Herbert W. and Velma (Morrison) Trohon. She grew up in Watertown and was a graduate of Watertown High School in 1940 and Katherine Gibbs School in Boston in 1942. She had been employed for many years as a Secretary with Bank Boston, retiring in 1987. Mrs. Wellington had been a resident of Carver, MA for over 20 years, currently residing in Watertown, MA. She enjoyed square dancing, was a lover of cats and an avid gardener. Mrs. Wellington died on Thursday February 24, 2005 at the Leland Home in Waltham at the age of 82.

She was the wife of the late John F. Wellington and is survived by her children: Martha J. Wellington and her husband Cort Benningfield of San Francisco, CA, Gordon J. Wellington and his wife Suzanne of Granite Bay, CA and Muriel Wellington Comick and her husband Ted Comick of Watertown and her grandchildren: Bryce Wellington, Phil Wellington, Colleen Comick and Michael Comick.

A Private graveside service will be held at the Mass. National Cemetery, Bourne, MA.

Exressions of gratitude to the nurses and staff at the Leland Home.

George R. Healey

A Funeral Mass for George R. Healey, 71, will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 24, 2006, in the Church of Saint Patrick, Watertown.

Mr. Healey was born in Cambridge, on February 11, 1934. He grew up in Somerville and graduated from St. John’s High School, North Cambridge. He served in the US Army during the Korean War era and was a retired meat cutter for Swift and Company, Somerville. Mr. Healey, a Watertown resident for many years, died on Saturday, January 21, 2006, in St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center, Boston, after a long illness.

He leaves his wife Joan M. (Laronde) Healey; three children: Ann T. Healey of Belmont, Jean F. Pluis and her husband Rene of the Netherlands, Michael J. Healey and his wife Jennifer of New Providence, NJ; a sister, Margaret Nunes of Southboro; and five grandchildren: Alison Bowler, Anton Pluis, Heleen Pluis, Reinier Pluis and Jack Healey.

Father of the late Mary Healey, he was the son of the George J. and Ellen (Scannell) Healey, and brother of the late Albert Healey.

The Funeral will be from the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main St., on Rte. 20, Watertown, on Tuesday at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 o'clock in the Church of Saint Patrick, 212 Main St., Watertown. Interment will be in Ridgelawn Cemetery, Watertown.

John V. DeCamillis

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday June 27, 2006 for Mr. John V. DeCamillis, 88 years old. Mr. DeCamillis was born in Boston, a son of the late Frank and Lucia DeCamillis. He grew up in Malden, graduating from Malden High School. After graduation he worked at the DeCamillis Greenhouse, a family flower shop. He then was employed at the Boston Naval Shipyard in Charlestown and later with the B.F. Goodrich Company, formerly the Hood Rubber Company in Watertown. He then was employed as the building and project Manager for the Hamilton Realty Company. He was a member of Piave Fiume Lodge 1036, OSIA, Watertown. Mr. DeCamillis had been a Watertown resident for over 55 years. He died on Sunday June 25, 2006 at the Belmont Manor Nursing Home in Belmont, MA.

He was the loving husband of 61 years to the late Catherine “Kay” M. (Sallese) DeCamillis. Devoted father to Donna and Jason Rosenberg of Newton, Jack DeCamillis and Al Benson of Punta Gorda, Fla., and Kathy and Chuck MacDonald of Watertown. Adoring grandfather to Alicia Rosenberg, Mary and Annie MacDonald and the late Kayla Rosenberg. Loving brother of James DeCamillis of Wakefield, and Rose Sablone of Saugus, and the late Frank DeCamillis of Littleton, Caroline “Lena” DeSimone of Wakefield, Divina DeVito of Malden, Emma Barbetta of Stonham, Elvira Altobelli of Billerica and Camille DeRocco of Billerica. In addition John leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and the caring and devoted staff at the Belmont Manor Nursing Home.

Funeral Services will be held from the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main St., on Rte. 20, Watertown, on Wednesday at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass in the Church of Saint Patrick, 212 Main St. at 10:30 o'clock. Interment St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Calling hours: Tuesday 3-7 PM. Relatives and friends kindly invited.
