Rita M. McLaughlin

CAMBRIDGE - Rita Mary McLaughlin, 85, died Oct. 30, 2000, at Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge. She was born in Cambridge on Dec. 5, 1914, the daughter of the late James A. and Isabella (Power) McLaughlin. Mrs. McLaughlin was previously employed in the catering business. She is survived by a sister, Eleanor Daniels of Belmont; two nephews, Alan McLaughlin of Bedford, and John B. Daniels III of Southbridge; three nieces, Deborah Shaurette of Wayland, Janice Snyder of Scituate, and Linda Daniels of Belmont; and several other nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. She was also the sister of the late Isabel Munroe, and James, Alice, Edward and William McLaughlin. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Nov. 3, in St. Agnes Church in Arlington. Interment will be in Cambridge Cemetery, Cambridge. Visitation is from 3 to 7 p.m. today, Nov. 2, in the Keefe Funeral Home, Inc., 5 Chestnut St., Arlington.

Angelina C. Reppucci

Angelina C. (Caputo) Reppucci, 91, died Sunday, July 2, 2000, at Mt. Auburn Hospital. She was the wife of the late Louis F. Reppucci. Born in Boston, she was a member and founder of Belmont Arts and Crafts, a member of the Copley Art Society of Boston, the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston Visual Arts Union and the Belmont Woman's Club. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a senior labor market economist for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Mrs. Reppucci is survived by a brother, Ralph Caputo of Belmont; and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Philomena, Mario, Vincent, Joseph and Americo Caputo. The funeral will be held today, July 6, from the Stanton Funeral Home, Watertown, at 8 a.m. with a funeral Mass in the Sacred Heart Church at 9 a.m. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.

Robert T. Castagno

Robert T. Castagno, 48, formerly of Belmont, died Monday, July 3, 2000, at Mt. Auburn Hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of Linda M. (Nardone) Castagno.

Born in Cambridge, Mr. Castagno was a longtime resident of Belmont before moving to Medford 22 years ago. He was the son of Alphonse Castagno and the late Helen C. (Catalano) Castagno of Belmont. He was employed as a senior system analyst for Stone and Webster Engineering, where he designed nuclear power plants.

Besides his wife and father, Mr. Castagno is survived by a brother, Alphonse Castagno Jr. of Belmont; and a sister, Joanne DiFilippo of Everett.

Funeral services will be held from the Short, Williamson & Diamond Funeral Home, 52 Trapelo Road, Belmont, today, July 6 at 8 a.m. with a funeral Mass in St. Luke's Church, Lexington St., at 9 a.m. Interment will be in Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.

Kyra M. Hall

Kyra M. (Arnold-Feridy) Hall, 77, died July 1, 2000, at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston. She was the wife of Hilton D. Hall. Mrs. Hall was born in Batum in the Republic of Georgia. She was a longtime Belmont resident. She was employed at MIT as an administrative assistant in the Research Laboratory of Electronics. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her mother, Irina Arnold-Feridy; her daughter, Irina and her husband Franco of Italy; and three grandchildren. Funeral services were private. For those who wish, contributions in Mrs. Hall's memory may be made to The Kidney Foundation of Massachusetts, 105 Eastern Ave., Dedham, MA 02026. Arrangements were under the care of the DeVito Funeral Home, Watertown.

Arlene I. Kohler

Arlene I. (Pitts) Kohler, 62, of Belmont, died July 10, 2000, at her home. She was born in Waltham, the daughter of the late William H. and Nellie F. (Condon) Pitts. She had lived in Waltham before moving to Belmont nine years ago. She was employed by West Suburban Health Services. Mrs. Kohler is survived by four sons, Robert M. Kohler of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., John J. Kohler of Belmont, Joseph T. Kohler of Waltham, and Edward F. Kohler of Sudbury; a brother, Joseph Pitts of Framingham; three sisters, Helen Collins of Watertown, Dorothy DiGregorio and Beverly Keough, both of Waltham; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late George Pitts, William Pitts, Raymond Pitts and Winifred Crowley. A funeral was held today, July 13, from the Joyce Funeral Home in Waltham, followed by a funeral Mass in Saint Luke's Church, Belmont. Interment was in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.

Rose G. Denault

Rose G. (Riccardi) Denault, 83, formerly of Belmont, died July 7, 2000, at Pine Knoll in Lexington. She was the wife of the late Charles H. Denault. She is survived by two daughters, Anita R. Denault, and Evelyn M. Roche and her husband Thomas; a brother, Albert Riccardi; and two sisters, Gloria Falcone and Ann Ambrogne. She was also the sister of the late Bruno Riccardi. A funeral was held July 10, from the Stanton Funeral Service, Inc., in Watertown, followed by a funeral Mass in Our Lady of Mercy Church, Belmont. Interment was in Mt. Auburn Cemetery. For those who wish, contributions in Mrs. Denault's memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 968, Framingham, MA 01701.

Camille F. Spadaro

Camille F. Spadaro, 84, died July 10, 2000 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital. She was the wife of the late Joseph J. Spadaro.

She was born in Boston, the daughter of the late Angelo and Giovanna (Stavolta) Giacolone. She was educated in Belmont schools.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m., July 14, in St. Luke's Church. Interment will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Arlington.

Arrangements are under the care of Greene Funeral Home, Belmont.

Mary M. LaFortune

Mary M. (Lally) LaFortune, 100, died July 10, 2000, at the Weston Senior Care Center in Weston. She was the wife of the late Joseph Oscar LaFortune. She was born in Holyoke and had been a Belmont resident since 1934. She is survived by two daughters, Shirley Brehm and Patricia A. Connors, both of Waltham; a sister, Catherine Ackerman of Sarasota, Fla.; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was also the mother of the late Frances LaFortune. A funeral was held today, July 13, from the Short, Williamson & Diamond Funeral Home in Belmont, followed by a funeral Mass in St. Joseph's Church, Belmont. Interment was in Belmont Cemetery, Belmont.

Susan H. Phillips

Susan Hindle Phillips, 65, formerly of Belmont, died July 1, 2000. She is survived by two daughters, Laura of Nantucket and Katharine of Manhattan, N.Y. Josephine Bacci

Josephine (Pellegrino) Bacci, formerly of Brockton and Watertown, died July 11, 2000. She was the wife of John Bacci. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, John Bacci of Brockton; three brothers, Anthony Pellegrino and Phillip Pellegrino, both of Belmont, and Joseph Pellegrino of Cape Cod; two sisters, Mary Pellegrino and Frances Pellegrino, both of Watertown; and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Nancy Probert and Louis Pellegrino. Services will be held from the Brasco & Sons Memorial, 325 Trapelo Road, Belmont at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, July 14, followed by a funeral Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Saint Luke's Church, Belmont. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours 2 to 6 p.m., today, July 13. Interment will be in Saint Patrick's Cemetery, Watertown.

John P. Rooney

SURFSIDE BEACH, S.C. - John P. Rooney, 63, formerly of Belmont, died July 16, 2000, in the Myrtle Beach Manor. He was the husband of Nonnie Rooney. He was born Sept. 8, 1936, in Belmont, the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Daugherty) Rooney. Mr. Rooney moved to South Carolina in 1993 from New York. He was an Army veteran and a member of the DAV. He was employed as a regional sales manager in the forklift industry for 30 years. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Garden City. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Maureen Aneser of Braintree, Meagan Mooney of Yonkers, N.Y., and Mary Rooney of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; three sisters, Ruth Quinn of Greenville, R.I., Jane Friel of Bowie, Md., and Nancy Powers of Cape Cod; and two grandchildren. He was also the brother of the late Joseph and Bob Rooney, Barbara Trembley, Betty Muto, and Jean Leonard. A funeral Mass was celebrated today, July 20, in the St. Andrew Catholic Church in Delavan, Wisconsin. For those who wish, contributions in Mr. Rooney's memory may be made to the DAV, c/o Marvin Cross, 339 Seabreeze, Garden City, SC 29576. Arrangements were under the care of the McMillan-Small Funeral Home of Myrtle Beach, S.C.
