DUDLEY -- Gretchen E. (Michaels) LeCour, 61, of 22 Ramshorn Road, a cafeteria manager, died Monday, April 16, at home after an illness.

She leaves her husband of 44 years, Frederick LeCour; three sons, Frederick LeCour Jr. of Dudley, Kenneth LeCour of Columbus, Ga., and Steven LeCour of New Boston, N.H.; three grandchildren; a total of 12 brothers and sisters in Michigan. She was born in Dearborn, Mich., daughter of Joseph and Josephine (Mitchell) Michaels, and graduated from Garden City High School. She lived several years in Worcester, and 35 years in Dudley.

Mrs. LeCour was cafeteria manager 27 years at Dudley Elementary School.

She was a member of the Seacoasters Motorhome Club, and she was an avid bowler. She enjoyed arts, crafts, and flowers.

The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 19, in Bartel Funeral Home & Chapel, 33 Schofield Ave. After cremation, burial will be at a later date in Corbin Cemetery. Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, in the funeral home.

Rose Marquis, 78

Tuesday, April 24, 2001

NORTHBORO -- Rose (Figueroa) Marquis, 78, of 7B Centre Drive, died Monday, April 23, in Epoch Senior Healthcare Center, after an illness.

Her husband, Armand H. Marquis, died in 1987. She leaves a daughter, Annette Currier of Northboro; a brother, John Figueroa of Brooklyn, N.Y.; three grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was born in New York City, daughter of John Figueroa, and lived there for many years. She moved to Northboro in 1992.

Mrs. Marquis worked at Stouffer's Inc. in New York City for 25 years. She later worked for Equitable Life Insurance Co. She was a former member of Holy Cross Church on 42nd Street in Manhattan.

The funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 26, in St. Rose of Lima Church, 244 West Main St. Burial will be in Howard Street Cemetery. A calling hour will be 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday, April 26, in Leland-Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lincoln Street School Playground Fund, 76 Lincoln St., Northboro, MA 01532.

Mary A. Nixon, 87

MILFORD -- Mary A. (DiVitto) Nixon, 87, of 17 Mark Drive, died Monday, April 23, in Geriatric Authority of Milford, after an illness.

Her husband, William A. Nixon, died in 1967. She leaves two sons, William P. Nixon of Ledyard, Conn., and Richard H. Nixon of Oakham; a brother, Lawrence E. DiVitto of Milford; a sister, Antoinette A. Cormier, with whom she lived; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces. A brother, Louis J. DiVitto of Milford, died in 1970. She was born in Spencer, daughter of Paul and Ida (Girward) DiVitto, and lived most of her life in Milford.

Mrs. Nixon worked at the former Porter Shoe Co. for more than 35 years. She was a member of St. Mary's Church and the Sgt. John W. Powers post American Legion Auxiliary.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 25, from Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Winter Street. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, in the funeral home.

Sean M. Noel, 26

GRAFTON -- Sean M. Noel, 26, of 253 Worcester St., died Wednesday, April 18, in St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center after a long illness.

He leaves his father, William T. Noel of Grafton, and his mother, Patricia A. (Mello) Glispin of Worcester; a brother, William T. Noel Jr. of Webster; his grandmother, Dorothy J. Mello of Millbury; his stepfather, David Glispin of Grafton; two stepbrothers, Timothy and Brian Glispin, both of Grafton; and his girlfriend, Erin Bjorndal of Grafton. He was born in Worcester and lived in Grafton most of his life. He attended Grafton High School.

Mr. Noel was an apprentice electrician for Guyette Electric for four years. He was also a service technician at Sunshine Sign Co. for two years. He was a member of St. Mary's Church, North Grafton. He enjoyed motorcycles, billiards and music.

The funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 23, in St. Mary's Church, Waterville Street, North Grafton. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, North Grafton. Calling hours are 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 22, from Robert C. Roney Funeral Home, 152 Worcester St., North Grafton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 44 Binney St., Boston, MA 02115.

Jack Osimo and Emily Osimo, infants

UXBRIDGE -- Jack and Emily Osimo, infant children of Anthony and Margo (Partlow) Osimo of Forest Lane, died Monday, April 16, in UMass Memorial Medical Center -- Memorial Campus, Worcester.

They leave their maternal grandparents, Frank and Margaret (Julian) Partlow of Southbridge; their maternal great-grandmother, Theresa (Lacasse) Proulx of Southbridge; their paternal grandparents, Robert and Diane (Racicot) Osimo of Southbridge; their paternal great-grandmothers, Dora (Boulduc) Geary of Florida and Ruth (Donais) Osimo of Southbridge.

The graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 19, in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Webster. There are no calling hours. Buma Funeral Home, 101 North Main St., is directing arrangements.

Pauline Ostrowski, 96

WEBSTER -- Pauline C. (Bilski) Ostrowski, 96, of 5 Wall St., a retired shoe industry worker, died Wednesday, April 18, in St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center, Worcester.

Her husband of 69 years, Stanley A. Ostrowski, died in 1993. She leaves two sons, John F. and Stanley E. Ostrowski, both of Webster; two daughters, Alice T. Markiewicz and Jean Marshalkowski, both of Webster; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. Four sisters, Clara Gion, Katherine Grzyb, Victoria Androlewicz and Anna Piwowarski, and a brother predeceased her. She was born in Poland, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bilski, and lived many years in Webster.

Mrs. Ostrowski worked at B&W Footwear Co. and Bentley Shoe Co. before retiring. She was a member of St. Joseph Basilica.

The funeral will be held Monday, April 23, from Scanlon Funeral Service, East Main Street, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb St. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 22, in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph Basilica Ramp Fund, 53 Whitcomb St., Webster, MA 01570.

Marjorie P. Phillips, 64

Monday, April 16, 2001

HOPKINTON -- Marjorie P. (Stevens) Phillips, 64, died Friday, April 13, at home.

She leaves her husband of 42 years, William F. Phillips; two daughters, Debbie Bourassa of Auburn, and Donna Deleo of Grafton; a sister, Carol McCabe of Hopkinton; a granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. She was born in Worcester, daughter of William and Margaret (Gamble) Stevens.

Mrs. Phillips worked at Fenwal Corp., Ashland, from 1956 until her retirement in 1993. She was a member of the American Legion of Ashland.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 19, in Evergreen Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to the VNA Care Hospice, Inc., 120 Thomas St., Worcester, MA 01608. Chesmore Funeral Home, 57 Hayden Rowe St., is directing arrangements.

Ernest W. Pierce, 57

WORCESTER -- Ernest W. Pierce, 57, a resident of SunBridge Care & Rehabilitation of Worcester, died Thursday, April 19, in UMass Memorial Medical Center -- University Campus after an illness.

His wife, Odile M. (Recor) Pierce, died in 1993. He leaves a son, Scott W. Pierce of Worcester; two stepsons, Roger A. Vinton of West Brookfield and Marc D. Recor of North Brookfield; a brother, Arthur Pierce of Florida; and a sister, Geraldine Ostergard of Auburn. He was born in Worcester, son of Kenneth W. and Dorothy P. (Sleeper) Pierce.

Mr. Pierce was a taxi driver in Worcester before retiring.

The funeral service will be private. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Fay Brothers Funeral Home, 9 Hammond St., is directing arrangements.

Aldea Reopel, 93

SOUTHBRIDGE -- Aldea (St. Cyr) Reopel, 93, of 89 Elm St., a retired optical company worker, died Wednesday, April 18, in Providence House of Southbridge after an illness.

Her husband, Osa Reopel, died in 1941. She leaves a son, Richard A. Reopel of Ludlow; a daughter, Jean R. Gaudette of Southbridge, with whom she lived; a brother, Alfred St. Cyr of Boynton Beach, Fla.; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Born in Manchester, N.H., daughter of Zephirin and Adele (Theriault) St. Cyr, she lived most of her life in Southbridge.

Mrs. Reopel worked 35 years at American Optical Co. before retiring and was a member of the company's Quarter Century Club.

The memorial Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 24, in Sacred Heart Church, 30 Charlton St. Burial will be in New Notre Dame Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pastoral Building Fund, St. John the Baptist Parish, 181 Hubbard St., Ludlow, MA 01056; or to Alzheimer's Disease & Related Disorders Association of Massachusetts, 1 Kendall Square, Building 600, Cambridge, MA 02139. Bernard M. Ricciardione Sr., 85; owned school

HOPEDALE -- Bernard M. Ricciardione Sr., 85, of 58 Hill St., a retired private school owner, died Friday, April 20, in Blaire House of Milford.

He leaves his wife, Greta (Stare) Ricciardione; a daughter, Janice R. Mirabele of Milford; two stepsons, Richard Meringer of Rockport and David Eldredge of Murray, Utah; two brothers, Louis Ricciardione of Malden and Frank Ricciardione of Medford; two sisters, Lillian Porter of Malden and Mary Holland of North Eastham; two grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; a great-step-grandchild. A son, Bernard M. Ricciardione Jr., and four brothers, Joseph, Pat, Carl, and Henry Ricciardione, predeceased him. He was born in Malden, son of Antonio and Pasqualina (Novelli) Ricciardione, and moved to Hopedale in 1982. He graduated from Immaculate School in Revere in 1933. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving with the Seabees.

Mr. Ricciardione owned Hilltop Private School in Malden, retiring in 1985.

The funeral will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 24, from Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home, 46 Water St., Milford, with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Hopedale Street. Burial will be in Hopedale Village Cemetery. Calling hours are from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 23, in the funeral home. Donations may be made to Project Triangle, 420 Pearl St., Malden, MA 02148.

John R. Selig, 36

DUDLEY -- John R. Selig, 36, of 4 Cross St., a commercial painter, died Friday, April 13, from injuries suffered in a one-car accident in Thompson.

He leaves his wife of 16 years, Darlene (Houghton) Selig; two sons, John D. Selig and Ian R. Selig, both of Dudley; his mother and stepfather, Robert and Joyce (Rafuse) McCarty; his father and stepmother, Richard and Ferne Selig of Canada; four brothers, Bruce Selig of Thompson, Sean and Dennis McCarty, both of Webster, and Robert McCarty of Huntington Beach, Calif.; three sisters, Luisa McCarty of Great Barrington, Patricia Bridgeo of Holden, and Sandra Brunelle of Canada; nieces and nephews. He was born in Nova Scotia, and moved to Worcester many years ago. He lived several years in Webster, and moved to Dudley in 1984.

Mr. Selig was a commercial painter many years, and worked with the IUPAT Local 486 union in Hartford, Conn., for many years.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 17, in Bartel Funeral Home & Chapel, 33 Schofield Ave. Burial will be in Acote's Hill Cemetery, Chepachet, R.I. Calling hours are 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 17, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the John and Ian Selig Educational Fund, c/o Webster Five Cent Savings Bank, 136 Thompson Road, Webster, MA 01570.

Barbara Ann Swanson

Monday, April 23, 2001

COTUIT -- Barbara Ann (McCormick) Swanson, died Sunday, April 22, in Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

She leaves her husband of 49 years, Carl E. Swanson; two sons, including Erik Swanson of Oxford; a daughter; two brothers; two grandchildren. She lived 28 years in Sudbury before moving to Marstons Mills.

Mrs. Swanson was a service representative for New England Telephone Co., and was a secretary at Concord-Carlisle High School.

She was a member of First Lutheran Church in West Barnstable and the Osterville Garden Club. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and traveling.

The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 26, in First Lutheran Church, Route 6A, West Barnstable. Burial will be private. Calling hours are from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, in John-Lawrence Funeral Home, 3778 Falmouth Road, Marstons Mills. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cape Cod Hospital Cardiac Programs, 27 Park St., Hyannis, MA 02601 or First Lutheran Church, Route 6A, West Barnstable, MA 02668.

Mary A. Tamulevicz, 70

HUDSON -- Mary A. (Cullen) Tamulevicz, 70, of Hudson, a retired assembler, died Wednesday, April 18, in Marina Bay Skilled Nursing Facility, Quincy.

Her husband, Martin Tamulevicz, died in 1982. She leaves a daughter, Mary Beth Tamulevicz of Quincy; a son, Martin Tamulevicz of Millbury; and a grandson, Ryan Tamulevicz of Grafton. A son, Michael Tamulevicz, died in 1964. A sister, Elizabeth Paine, also predeceased her. She was born in Cambridge, daughter of Leo and Mary (Cash) Cullen, and graduated from Cambridge Vocational High School.

Mrs. Tamulevicz was an assembler at Hudson Lock Co. before retiring.

The funeral will be held Saturday, April 21, from Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St., with a Mass at 9 a.m. in Christ the King Church, 48 Central St. Burial will be in Forestvale Cemetery. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 20, in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hudson Senior Center, 29 Church St., Hudson, MA 01749.
