GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Dorothy Y. (Arsenault) Boudreau, 78, of 150 Howell Common, formerly of Fitchburg, Mass., died Monday, Jan. 28, at home after an illness.
She leaves her husband of 53 years, Albert J. Boudreau; three sons, Roger Boudreau of Fitchburg, Henry Boudreau of Barre, Mass., and Richard Boudreau of Sterling, Mass.; three daughters, Yvonne Boudreau of Tustin, Calif., Louise Boudreau-Bouchard of Westminster and Claire Boudreau-Comptois of Hubbardston, Mass.; a brother, Edward Arsenault of Orange, Mass.; three sisters, Bertha LeBlanc and Jeannette Cormier, both of Fitchburg, and Lorraine Bilow of Leominster, Mass.; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. She was born in Fitchburg, daughter of Alaire and Jeanne (LeBlanc) Arsenault, and lived in Fitchburg before moving to South Carolina 18 years ago.
Mrs. Boudreau worked at Fitchburg Yarn Co. and then Digital Corp. in Westminster, Mass., retiring in 1986.
The funeral will be held Friday, Feb. 1, from Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Road, Fitchburg, with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, 46 Woodland St., Fitchburg. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Fitchburg. Calling hours are 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, in the funeral home. Kenneth P. Brown, 42

ATHOL -- Kenneth P. "KB" Brown, 42, of 234 Riverbend St., died Saturday, Feb. 9, at home.
He leaves his mother, Patricia A. (Batutis) Brown, with whom he lived; a sister, Kathleen Marcotte of Athol; a brother, Kevin Brown of Athol; a niece and two nephews. He was born in Athol, son of Robert A. Brown, and graduated from Athol High School in 1979.
Mr. Brown was a motorcycle mechanic at All Sports Cycle, Orange. He was also an electrician's helper and did carpentry work. He was a member of Tully City Council Club, Franco-American Naturalization Club, American-Lithuanian Naturalization Club, Petersham Gun Club and North American Hunting Club. He was a sports fan and enjoyed motorcycling.
The memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, in J. Edward Murphy Funeral Home, 137 Main St. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery. Calling hours are 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity.

WORCESTER -- Eloise T. (Tyler) Butterfield, 96, of 1183 Main St., formerly of Paxton, died Friday, Jan. 25, in the Washburn House.
Her husband of 25 years, M. Morton Butterfield, died in 1976. She leaves a nephew, Bob Price of West Boylston; a niece, Gail Kimball of Paxton; and several grandnephews and grandnieces. She was born in New York City, daughter of Oliver P. and Lillian (Lowell) Tyler, and lived many years in Worcester before moving to Paxton. She graduated from North High School.
Mrs. Butterfield worked 25 years at the former State Mutual Assurance Co. She was a member of the First Congregational Church, Paxton, the Paxton Women's Club and the Paxton Council on Aging. She enjoyed gardening and sewing.
The memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, in O'Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Ave. Burial will be in Coldbrook Cemetery, Barre. There are no calling hours. Edward A. Cairns, 85; World War II veteran

WEST BOYLSTON -- Edward A. Cairns, 85, of 208 Prescott St., died Saturday, Feb. 2, in St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center, Worcester, after an illness.
His wife, Barbara F. (Hall) Cairns, died April 2. He leaves two sons, Edward M. Cairns of Worcester and James H. Cairns of Eaton, N.H.; two grandchildren, Ethan and Jenna Cairns, both of Eaton. Four sisters and a brother predeceased him. He was born and raised in Clinton, son of George S. and Margaret (Macdonald) Cairns, and lived 40 years in West Boylston. He graduated from Clinton High School and was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in Europe.
Mr. Cairns worked more than 30 years at Colonial Press, Clinton. After retiring, he worked part-time at Worcester Public Library.
He was a member of United Church of Clinton and American Legion Harold N. Keith Post. He was a past master and longtime secretary at Trinity Lodge of Masons, Clinton, and a member of Aleppo Temple Shrine in Wilmington, the Scottish Rite Bodies of Worcester, Knights of York Cross of Honor, including as a former high priest of Clinton Royal Arch Chapter, past illustrious master of Hiram Council in Worcester and past commander of Trinity-Natick Commandery in Natick.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, in United Church of Clinton, 109 Haskell Ave. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Clinton. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to United Church of Clinton, 109 Haskell Ave., Clinton, MA 01510; or to West Boylston Fire Department Ambulance Fund, 39 Worcester St., West Boylston, MA 01583. WORCESTER -- Mary E. (Hehir) Carlin, 64, of 65 Lake Ave., a retired payroll accountant, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, in the Hospice Residence.
She leaves her husband of 34 years, Joseph A. Carlin; three sisters, Sally A. St. John and Martha D. Wally, both of Worcester, and Frances Carrigan of Northboro; nephews and nieces. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Edward P. and Mary M. (Hussey) Hehir, and lived 25 years in Queens, N.Y., before returning to Worcester in 1992. She graduated from Commerce High School and New England School of Accounting. She spent several winters in Hobe Sound, Fla.
Mrs. Carlin was a payroll accountant at Wycoff Heights Hospital, Queens, for 25 years, retiring in 1992. Previously, she worked at Norton Co., Worcester. She was a member of St. Anne's Church, Shrewsbury, and a longtime volunteer at the EcoTarium and the Mustard Seed.
The funeral will be held Friday, Feb. 8, from Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., with Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Anne's Church, 130 Boston Turnpike Road, Shrewsbury. Entombment will be in St. John's Cemetery. Calling hours are 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, in the funeral home. FITCHBURG -- Constance A. (Progin) Bedard Carpenter, 72, of 414 Theresa St., died Saturday, Jan. 26, in the Hospice Residence, Worcester, after an illness.
Her husband of 23 years, Victor J. Carpenter, died in 2000. She leaves two stepsons, John H. Carpenter of New Haven, Conn., and Tomothy P. Carpenter of Winchendon; a sister, Phyllis Neithercut of Fitchburg; five step-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Her first husband, Leo J. Bedard, died in 1975. A brother, Edwin F. Progin, and four sisters, Dorothy N. Walsh, Joan Sheilds, Barbara Redgate, and Beverly A. Matson, predeceased her. She was born in Fitchburg, daughter of Francois X. and Marie A. (Beauregard) Progin. She graduated from Fitchburg High School.
Mrs. Carpenter was an executive secretary to the president of Burbank Hospital for many years, retiring in 1992. She was a longtime member of Immaculate Conception Church.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, Jan. 30, from Lavery-Chartrand Funeral Home, 99 Summer St., with a Mass at 11 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, 59 Walnut St. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. MARLBORO -- Gloria M. (Temple) Carroll, 76, of Marlboro, died Friday, Feb. 1, in Marlboro Hospital after a long illness.
Her husband, William J. Carroll, died in 1995. She leaves two sons, William J. Carroll Jr. of Hawaii and Stephen R. Carroll of Marlboro; a sister, Everlina Cormier of Marlboro; two brothers, Frank Temple of Lunenburg and Paul Temple of Southbridge; two grandchildren; nephews and nieces. A granddaughter predeceased her. She was born in Marlboro, daughter of Frank and Viola (Courtemanche) Temple.
Mrs. Carroll worked more than 40 years for Design-Pak and Dennison Manufacturing Co., retiring in 1986.
The funeral service will be private in William R. Short and Son Funeral Home, 95 West Main St. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. There are no public calling hours.

LANCASTER -- Alice (Marion) Collins, 90, of 691 Sterling Road, formerly of 61 High St., died Monday, Feb. 4, in Coachlace Healthcare Center, Clinton, after a long illness.
Her husband, Joseph W. Collins, died in 1981. She leaves a son, Richard R. Collins of Lancaster; a daughter, Mary Y. Nugent of Putnam; a brother, Ernest Marion of Lowell; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; nephews and nieces. Two brothers and a sister predeceased her. She was born in Lowell, daughter of Alexandre and Eva (Proulx) Marion, and lived 50 years in Lancaster.
Mrs. Collins worked at Colonial Press, Clinton, retiring in 1977. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and its Catholic Women's Club.
The funeral will be held Thursday, Feb. 7, from Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton, with a Mass at 11:30 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, Main Street. WORCESTER -- Virginia M. (Allen) Conner, 76, of 123 Holden St., formerly of Mount View Drive, Holden, died Monday, Jan. 28, in UMass Memorial Medical Center -- University Campus.
Her husband, Herbert L. Conner, died in 1983. She leaves two sons, Paul A. Conner of Holden and Michael W. Conner of Charlotte, N.C.; a daughter, Christine A. Brockmann of Sterling; a sister, Phyllis Green of Worcester; six grandchildren; nephews and nieces. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Paul and Grace (Friel) Allen, and lived 40 years in Holden before moving to Worcester.
Mrs. Conner was a licensed practical nurse and worked many years at Hahnemann Hospital and Holden District Hospital. She was a member of St. George's Church.
The funeral will be held Friday, Feb. 1, from the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. George's Church, 38 Brattle St. Burial will be Worcester Memorial Park, Paxton. WORCESTER -- Michael J. Connolly, 91, of 485 Grove St., a retired pipeline operator, died Sunday, Jan. 27, in St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center.
He leaves his wife of 67 years, Irene M. (Gagne) Connolly; two sons, James R. Connolly of New York City and Brian M. Connolly of Seattle; a brother, George Connolly of West Roxbury; four grandchildren. He was born in Norwood, son of James M. and Mary (Keady) Connolly.
Mr. Connolly was a pipeline operator for Shell Oil Co. for many years. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and Greendale Men's Club. In his youth he was an amateur boxer in Boston.
A memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, in Immaculate Conception Church, 353 Grove St. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity. Caswell-King Funeral Home, 474 Grove St., is directing arrangements.

CHERRY HILL, N.J. -- Ruth H. White-Cosmos, 77, of Cherry Hill, and formerly of Worcester, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, at home.
She leaves her husband, James Cosmos; a son, Charles D. White of Cherry Hill; a daughter, Lydia M. Keisler of Columbia, Mo.; a stepdaughter, Thailia Cosmos of Mount Laurel, N.J.; a sister, Margaret H. George of Worcester; two brothers, Herbert Haddad of Worcester and Theodore Haddad of Leominster; and nine grandchildren. Her first husband, Wilmer White, predeceased her. She was born in Worcester. She received a bachelor of arts from Clark University, Worcester, and a master's degree from Rowan College in Glassboro, N.J.
Mrs. White-Cosmos was a math teacher at Haddon Heights High School for 26 years and a chairwoman of the math department for 10 years. She was a member of The Haddon Fortnightly. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Haddonfield for 45 years, where she served two terms on the Board of Deacons. She also served on the board of trustees and was treasurer of the Presbyterian Women for five years.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 1, in the Sanctuary of the First Presbyterian Church of Haddonfield, 20 East Kings Highway, Haddonfield. Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, in Kain Funeral Home, 8 West Kings Highway, Haddonfield, and 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 1, in the church parlor. Burial will be private. GARDNER -- John H. Cummings, 91, of 160 Bridge St., died Tuesday, Jan. 29, in Heywood Hospital, after a short illness.
He leaves his wife of 64 years, Genevieve Y. (Duquette) Cummings; two daughters, Patricia A. Smith of Gardner and Mary Jane Rodecki of the Baldwinville section of Templeton; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. A sister, Alice Turchik, of Bridgeport, Conn, died in 1993. He was born in Boston, son of Dennis and Mary-Jane (O'Brien) Cummings, and lived in Gardner 89 years. He graduated from Gardner High School in 1928.
Mr. Cummings worked at the former Brockelman's Market. He was also employed with the Florence Stove Co. for 20 years and then at the Gardner State Hospital for 19 years, retiring in 1976. He was a member of St. Martin's Church, Otter River, the Otter River Sportsman's Club and Massachusetts State Retirees Association. He enjoyed hunting.
The funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, from Lamoureux-Fletcher Community Funeral Home, 105 Central St., with a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Martin's Church, Gardner Road, Otter River. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, in the funeral home.
