Yvonne Regina (Poirier) Howard age 89 years of Lakeville, passed away, Sunday, December 5, 2010 at Golden Living Oak Hill Center in Middleboro following a brief illness. She was the wife of William Howard, Sr. of 69 years.
Born Sunday March 13, 1921 in New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late Armand & Matilda (Turcotte) Poirier.
Mrs. Howard attended the St. Anthony’s School in New Bedford and spent most of her married life in New Bedford. She and her Husband William moved to Crystal River FL, for a few years before moving to Lakeville in 1987. She worked as a stitcher for the Plymouth Shoe Co. and various other clothing shops in the New Bedford area before retiring in 1981. Following her retirement she and her Husband spent many years traveling to places like England, Mexico, the South Pacific, Hawaii, and many other places throughout the United States. Mrs. Howard enjoyed spending most of her time with family and close friends. Mrs. Howard was a member of Sts. Martha & Mary’s Catholic Church in Lakeville.
In addition to her Husband William, she is survived by three sons; William Howard, Jr. and his wife Karen of Lakeville, Daniel Howard and his wife Esther of NY, and Richard Howard of Burlington; 12 Grandchildren; 7 Great Grandchildren; five brothers and one sister. She was predeceased by one brother Leo Poirier.
A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at 10:30 AM in Sts. Martha & Mary’s Catholic Church in Lakeville. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 7, 2010 from 5-8 pm in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home 280 Bedford Street Lakeville, MA 02347.
In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association, Massachusetts Chapter, 311 Arsenal St. Watertown, MA 02472.

Ruth Elizabeth (Cates) Snow

At: Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, Brockton, MA
Ruth Elizabeth (Cates) Snow age 82 years passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at the Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital on Saturday November 20th. She was the loving wife of 56 years of George H. Snow, III of East Bridgewater.
Born in Brockton she was the daughter of the late Clifford W. and Charlotte E. (Pettee) Cates. Mrs. Snow was a graduate of Brockton High School Class of 1946 and also a graduate of the Brockton School of Nursing Class of 1949. She had been a resident of the town of East Bridgewater for the past 54 years. Ruth was employed as a Registered Nurse for many years at the Brockton Hospital as well as for the Visiting Nurses Association of East Bridgewater. She was also the school nurse for the Town of East Bridgewater Public schools and was a member and former board president of the East Bridgewater Public Health Nursing Association. She was a former member of the Wendell Avenue Congregational Church and most recently was a member at the First Church of West Bridgewater.
In addition to her husband of 56 years she is survived by her devoted children, Cynthia J. Kwan and her husband Arthur of West Bridgewater, Susan E. Snow and her husband Michael of Arlington, Steven C. Snow and his wife Marya of Hudson and Christine R. Selmer and her husband Timothy of Hancock, NH, eleven grandchildren, two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. As well as her beloved dog Roger. A sister, Dorothy M. Barker preceded her in death.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday November 24th at 11:00 am in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home 647 Main St., Brockton, MA 02301.
Interment will follow the service in the Melrose Cemetery, Pearl St., Brockton. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 3-7pm.
To carry on the good work of her daughter Christine Selmer memorial gifts in lieu of flowers may be given to: Monadnock Adult Care Center, 22 North St., Jaffrey, NH 03452.

Richard “Rick” C. Ellis

Richard “Rick” C. Ellis, age 63 years of East Bridgewater, died Saturday, December 4, 2010 at the VA Hospital in West Roxbury after a long illness. He was the husband for 37 years of Frances Marie (Lazarz) Ellis.
Born November 29, 1947 in Sanford, Maine, he was the son of the late Willard T. and Pearl (Cashman) Ellis.
He had been a resident of East Bridgewater for the past 37 years, and worked for Texas Instruments for 25 years as a designer and computer technician.
He was a Vietnam Army veteran, earning the Purple Heart, the Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars, and the Army Commendation Medal. He was a member of the VFW in Whitman, and volunteered at the VA Hospital in Brockton. He enjoyed traveling, gardening, gourmet cooking, and was a computer enthusiast.
He was a member of the Brockton Assembly of God Church, where he served as Deacon, Usher, Treasurer, and Missions Coordinator.
In addition to his wife Frances, he is survived by his son David M. Ellis of Attleboro, his daughter Karen M. Garcia and her husband Othon of Revere, and three grandchildren – Arianna G. Ellis, Nelly Garcia, and Isabella Garcia.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Brockton Assembly of God Church, 199 Warren Avenue, Brockton, MA on Thursday, December 9 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. A time of prayer and meditation will precede the service from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Visitation has been omitted.

Calvine C. (Bolduc) Haddock
Haddock of Cambridge, died at home, June 27, 2003, Calvine C. (Bolduc) Haddock, age 78. Beloved wife of the late Thomas I. Haddock. Devoted mother of Calvine Cook of Cambridge, Thomas I. Haddock, Jr. of Medford, Martha Sennot of Cambridge, and Joseph Haddock of Medford. Also survived by ten loving grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Funeral from the John C. Janet M. (Bolognese) Orlando
Orlando, Janet M. (Bolognese), age 87, formerly of Medford, Woburn, and Lake Worth, FL. She died June 12, 2003, in Saints Memorial Hospital in Lowell after a brief illness. Born February 23, 1916, in Buffalo, NY, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Laura Bolognese, and the wife of the late Joseph Orlando. Janet lived in Medford and Woburn before moving to Lake Worth, Florida in 1970. She returned to Massachusetts in 1996, and lived for the past two years at Heritage Manor in Lowell. She leaves a daughter, Ann Kirk Jordan of North Billerica; son, Leo J. Orlando of Dallas, TX; two brothers, Anthony and Ralph Bolognese, both of Medford; six grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held in the Burns Funeral Home, 354 Boston Road (Route 3A), Billerica directions, Sunday, June 15, 2:00 p.m.

Ila M. (Melanson) Kenderdine

Phyllis M. (Merrill) Ryan, age 73, died Sunday, June 8, 2003, at her home after a long illness. She was the beloved wife of Edwin T. Ryan with whom she would have celebrated her 43rd wedding anniversary on October 15. Born in Lowell, August 1, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Queenie (Wyers) Merrill. She retired from the Raytheon Corporate Offices in Lexington after many years as an Executive Secretary. She was a resident of Billerica for 37 years. Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Christine and Bob Kilburn of Tewksbury; her daughters Maureen Ryan of Amesbury and Patricia Ryan of Billerica; her brother and sister-in-law Herbert and Susan Merrill of Weston; her sister and brother-in-law Geraldine and Carl Cluff of Portland, Oregon; and her grandchildren Corey and Caitlin Jillson and Robert and Elisabeth Mae Kilburn. Josephine (Yaras) Melendy, age 88, died Sunday, July 6, 2003, at Addison Gilbert Hospital in Gloucester. She was the beloved wife of the late Irving W. Melendy. Born in Charlestown on November 26, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Helena (Murza) Yaras. She was a resident of Billerica for over 70 years. She is survived by a son Vincent Melendy of Gloucester; two grandchildren, Kelly Melendy of Gloucester and Kevin Melendy of Atlanta, GA; and two great grandchildren, Christian Pina and Jake Vincent Melendy. She was the sister of the late Vincent Yaras, the late Helen Kumple, and the late Joseph Yaras. Delmar E. Lee, age 74, died Sunday, July 6, 2003, at his home in Billerica. He was the beloved husband of the late Edna B. Callahan-Lee. He was born in Illinois, July 9, 1928, and resided in Billerica for the past 15 years. He worked as a security guard for Watts Security and prior worked as a mover for C. Bane Moving Company. He is survived by four daughters, Maryann Oakman of Billerica, Florence Mollvair of New Hampshire, Eileen Augello of Revere, and Janice Callahan of Florida; five sons, Joseph Callahan of New Hampshire, Robert Callahan of North Carolina, Kevin Callahan of Texas , Michael Callahan of Medford, and Kenneth Callahan of Somerville; 32 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. Dora M. (Muise) Dulong
Dora M. (Muise) Dulong passed away Sunday, July 6, 2003, at the Life Care Center of Merrimack Valley in Billerica. She was the beloved wife of the late J. Henry Dulong. Born in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia on September 19, 1903, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Sophie Muise. Dora worked for a shoe factory and performed housekeeping work. She lived most of her life in Wakefield and Melrose, and later lived with her granddaughter in Billerica, prior to moving to the Life Care Center. She was the mother of the late Louis Dulong and Kenneth Dulong. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Eleanor Dulong of Langdon, New Hampshire, her eight loving grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
