Esther P. Harrington
TIMONIUM - Esther Potter Harrington of Timonium, formerly of Easton, died Friday, July 25, 2000 at Stella Maris Nursing Home. She was 96.
Born Jan. 6, 1904 in Hamilton, she was the daughter of the late William Wolk and the late Mable Dunham.
Her husband, W. Stuart Harrington, is deceased.
A homemaker and a sales clerk, she was active in the Memorial Hospital volunteers.
She was the devoted mother of Carolyn P. Burrows of Vaugh, Mont. and Jean H. Matthews and her husband, Donald H., of Sparks; dear sister of Nellie P. Jones of Easton and the late Marvin D. Potter, Benjamin Potter, William W. Potter, Dorothy P. Gise and Carolyn P. Harris. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 12, at Old Wye Episcopal Church, Wye Mills. The Rev. Charles Osberger of Old Wye Episcopal Church will officiate. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
Arrangements are by Lemmon Funeral Home, Timonium.

Robert S. Preston
DENTON - Robert Son Preston of Denton, died at Caroline Nursing Home in Denton, on August 9, 2000 at the age of 86.
He was born at Monticello, Florida on February 19, 1914, the son of the late Lonnie and Mazie Preston.
He had previously served as minister of the Church of Christ in Preston. He also was a farmer known as a professional cowboy and worked for the Worms Farming.
Mr. Preston is survived by his wife of 48 years, Novella Jackson Preston of Denton; four children, Sharon L. Johnson of Winterhaven, Fla., William W. Preston of Baltimore, Mary L. Sewell of Lake Whales, Fla. Idella L. Anderson of Gainesville, Fla., thirteen grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, three sisters, Anna Mae Brown Lane of Ocala, Fla., Minnie Preston Hall of Tallahasse, Fla. and Anna Mae Smith of St. Petersburg, Fla. He was preceded in death by one brother, Willie Preston, and four sisters, Mary Davis, Charlotte Powell, Patsy Mae Polk, and Com Byrd.
Services were on Tuesday, August 15, at 2 p.m. at Framptom-Hawkins-Eskow Funeral Home in Federalsburg. Burial followed at Federal Hill Cemetery in Federalsburg.

Donald E. Weir
FEDERALSBURG - Donald E. Weir of Federalsburg, died Wednesday, August 9, 2000 in Caroline Nursing Home in Denton of heart failure. He was 74.
Born in Denton, he was the son of the late William Harold Weir and Mary Estelle Duffey Weir.
He lived in Caroline County all his life, where he served as a Maryland State Police sergeant for 27 years, retiring in 1975. He then worked for the Caroline County Sherrif's Department for several years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Weir is survived by his wife, Billie A. Weir of Federalsburg; one daughter, Donna S. Warren of Parsonsburg; two brothers: W. Harold "Bill" Weir of Federalsburg and Raymond Weir of Marydel; three sisters, Dorothy Gauzza of White Plaines, N.Y., Clara Greenwood, Del. and Lillian Standard of Chester, N.J.; and one grandchild. Three brothers, Alan Weir, Robert Weir, and James Weir, and one sister, Betty W. Williams, are deceased.
A graveside service will be 2 p.m., Sunday, August 13, in Denton Cemetery in Denton. There will be no viewing.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Caroline Hospice Foundation, PO Box 362, Denton, Maryland 21629 or the Caroline Nursing Home, 520 Kerr Avenue, Denton, Maryland 21629.

John W. White
ST. MICHAELS - John Wilbert White of St. Michaels died Monday, Aug. 7, 2000 in Genesis Eldercare in Easton. He was 85.
Born Aug. 13, 1914 in Cape Charles, Va., he was the son of the late Eva F. White and Joseph White.
He received his education in Norfolk, Va. school system and at Booker T. Washington School.
He worked for seven years at the Memorial Hospital at Easton and also worked at a seafood plant.
He was a member of Union United Methodist Church in St. Michaels.
Mr. White is survived by his wife of 67 years, Lorenzo White of Easton, and one sister, Arstead Johnson. A son, John Wilbert White Jr., three sisters, and two brothers are deceased.
Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 12, at Union United Methodist Church, St. Michaels, where friends may call two hours prior to the services. Burial will be in Charles Thomas Cemetery, St Michaels.
Arrangements are by Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Easton.

Rev. Paul M. Dill
HARRINGTON, Del. - Rev. Paul Major Dill of Harrington, Del., died Wednesday, August 9, 2000, at the Bay Health Center in Milford, Del. of complications of diabetes. He was 76.
Born in Denton, he was the son of the late Ralph T. Dill and Florence N. Jester Dill. He graduated from Caroline High School in 1941. He proudly served in the Ninth U.S. Army in the South Pacific during WWII. He had owned and operated Dill Plumbing, Heating, and Construction Co. as well as Dill's Grocery Store in Denton.
As a clergymen, he pastored White's Chapel in Harrington, Del. He had also pastored the Denton Church of the Nazarene where he led the church through three building programs and a relocation. He was deeply loved by his congregations.
His wife, Rowena May Dill, died Nov. 7, 1980.
Rev. Dill is survive by one son, Rev. Thomas A. Dill Sr. and his wife Barbara of Lynchburg, Va.; two daughters, Judith Lee Masten and her husband Charles of Harrington and Mary Elizabeth Dobies and her husband Mike of Milford, Del.; three brothers, Rev. Robert Dill of Smyrna, Del., Donald D. Dill and Joseph B Dill, both of Denton; four sisters, Ellen Louise Hamfeldt of Sussex, N.J., Rosalie Voshell of Felton, Del., Virginia Brady of Dover, Del, Joyce Voshell of Viola, Del.; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 12, at the Denton Church of the Nazarene, Denton. Friends may call at Moore Funeral Home, Denton 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday. Burial will be in the Denton Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be sent to the Denton Church of the Nazarene Fund, 10660 Greensboro Road, Denton, Md. 21629.

Elmer G. Donoho Jr.
PRESTON - Elmer G. Donoho Jr. of Preston died Monday, Aug. 7, 2000 at The Pines Genesis Eldercare in Easton. He was 83.
Born July 31, 1917 in Linkwood, Dorchester County, he was the son of the late Elmer G. Donoho Sr. and Lydia Bradley Donoho.
He began work with this father at Donoho Truck Body Building in Preston and had been employed as a truck driver by Tri-Gas & Oil Co. and Preston Trucking. He was a life-long member of the Preston Volunteer Fire Co. A World War II veteran, he served as a Tech 5 with the U.S. Army Troop C 6th Cavalry Mechanized Reconnaissance Squadron from Feb. 9, 1943 to Jan. 22, 1946. Serving in Central Europe, he received the African European Middle Eastern Theatre Ribbon and the World War II Victory Ribbon.
Mr. Donoho is survived by his wife of 53 years, Anna Burklew "Ann" Donoho, whom he married March 1, 1947; a son and daughter-in-law, Larry D. and Carol D. Donoho of Brookeville; two grandsons, Sean Michael Donoho and Bryan Andrew, and a son by a previous marriage, E. Bryce Donoho. A brother, Bryce B. Donoho, is deceased.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Aug. 10 at 11 a.m. at the Chapel of the Maryland Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery in Beulah. The Rev. Peter Smith will officiate.
Memorial donations may be made to the First Church of God, 101 Bloomingdale Ave., Federalsburg, Md. 21632.
Arrangements are by Framptom-Hawkins-Eskow Funeral Home, in Federalsburg.

Betty Mae Glenn
ROCK HALL - Betty Mae Glenn of Rock Hall, died at her home on August 8, 2000. She was 74.
Born on January 14, 1926 in Skinners Neck, Rock Hall, she was the daughter of the late Melvin L. "Knobby" and Mary S. Kelley Glenn.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Glenn is survived by two brothers, Ronald Glenn and Kenneth Glenn both of Rock Hall; three sisters, Patsy Higgs (with whom she lived) and Lucille Strokes, both of Rock Hall, and Shirley Palmatory of Millington.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, August 11, at 11 a.m. at Wesley Cemetery in Rock Hall. Friends may call on Thursday at the home of the of Patsy Higgs between then hours of 6 to 9 p.m. Burial will be in Wesley Chapel.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Rock Hall Vol. Fire Department P.O. Box 577 Rock Hall, Md. 21661.
Arrangements are by Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, Rock Hall.
