Bracolina, Maria G.
Maria Giuseppa (Josephine) Bracolina nee D’Onofrio, 94 of Westminster, MD, died Sunday August 22, 2010 at Lorien Assisted Living in Mt. Airy, MD. She was the spouse of the late Anthony Bracolina. She was born may 31 1916 in Brooklyn, NY. The daughter of the late Luciano D’Onofrio and late Mary Pietrofesa D’Onofrio. Mrs. Bracolina was a stay at home mom until her husbands passing 35 years ago and then worked for the Freeport, NY School System before retiring. She enjoyed Knitting, Crocheting, Cross Stitching, playing Bingo, doing crossword puzzles, cooking, traveling and visiting with family and friends in NY. Surviving her are Sister Lucy Dima of Whiting, NJ Son Luciano J. Bracolina of Indialantic, FL and Daughter Frances Mari Pupshis-Lowman of Westminster. 10 Grandchildren, 13 Great-grandchildren, and 3 Great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by 7 brothers and sister and 2 Sons, Nicholas A. Bracolina 1938 and Nicholas A. Bracolina 2001. A Catholic Prayer Service will be held on Tuesday August 24, 2010 4 PM at Burrier_Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784 with Fr. Michael Ruane officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday at the funeral home from 2 to 4 PM Mrs. Bracolina will be placed to rest at Long Island National cemetery in Farmington, NY with her late husband after a memorial Service for her family in New York.

Roop, Brenda L.
Brenda Lee Roop 47 of Woodbine, beloved Wife of Scott Roop of Woodbine, died Thursday, August 26, 2010 at Carroll Hospital Center. She was born November 21, 2010 the daughter of the late Freeman and Virginia Mae (Satterwhite) Dugan. She was a homemaker enjoyed Bingo, Jigsaw puzzles, Elvis Fan and spending time with her grandbabies. Surviving her in addition to her husband are Daughter and Fiancé Milly Roop and Chris Pavlicek of Frostburg, and Nicole Roop of Woodbine. Sisters and brother-in-laws Ninia and Anthony Beatrice of Frederick, Linda and Larry Poole, Yvonne McKenny, Angie and James Callahan, Judy Smith and Dorothy Hall. Brother Glenn Dugan. Nieces and Nephews Nova Kenney, Jesse, Shawn and Shantell Roop, Chatty Willis, Christine Combs, Larry Poole, Jr. Bobby Poole and Wayne Poole. Dear Friends David and Karen Delph. Grandchildren: Matthew Jacob Rawlings, Lilly Aaron, Elizabeth Joan and Abigail Victoria Pavlicek. Mother –in-law Joan Elizabeth Willis. Funeral Services will be held Monday August 30, 2010 11 Am at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784 Interment will be in Morgan Chapel cemetery, Woodbine, MD, The Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday 6-8 and Sunday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM.

Palmer, Doris
Doris (Kammer) Palmer 91 of Sykesville, MD, died Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at Encore Assisted Living of Turf Valley. She was the spouse of the late William Merrill Palmer, Sr. She was born July 10, 1919 in Baltimore, MD the daughter of the late Charles Kammer and Ethel Belle Webster Kammer. She was a Manager in the Sales Department of Stewart and Company, A Member of Elders Baptist Church, Enjoyed Crocheting and reading. Surviving her are Sons and Daughter-in-laws William and Carol Palmer of Eldersburg, David and Debby Palmer of Towson, Dennis and Karen Palmer of Chicago, Grandchildren: Christopher, Jonathon and Stephen Palmer, Martha Hagenbuch and Nina Lorenz-Palmer. Great-grandchildren Reese Palmer, Cassidy, Dana and Joseph Hagenbuch. Funeral Services will take place Saturday September 4, 2010 11 AM at Elders Baptist Church, 1216 Liberty Rd Eldersburg, MD 21784. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park, Sykesville, MD. The family will receive at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, PA. 1212 Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784 on Friday 3-5 and 7 to 9 PM. In lieu of flowers donations to Baptist Family Children’s Services, 7161A Columbia Gateway Dr. Columbia, MD 21046.

Hoffman, Jr., Frank N.
Frank Norman Hoffman, Jr., age 78, of Baltimore, died Monday, August 30, 2010, at Gilchrist Hospice, Inc., in Towson. He was born May 14, 1932 in New Market, MD the son of the late Frank Norman Hoffman, Sr. and the late Bertha A. Hoffman (nee Bussard). Frank was born, raised and enjoyed the farm life. Brother of Gene E. Hoffman, Sr. of Westminster, Harold K. Hoffman of Taylorsville, Donald A. Hoffman of New Windsor and Barbara L. Fink of Hamburg, PA and the late Bertha L. McCabe. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral Service and Interment will be Private.

Buxton, David L.
David Lee Buxton, age 61, of Mt. Airy, died Friday, September 3, 2010, at Frederick Memorial Hospital, Frederick, MD. He was born January 1, 1949 in Baltimore, MD the son of the late James Joseph Buxton and the late Elizabeth Carmelita Miles Buxton. He was the husband of Jacqueline J. Buxton (nee McNamara) for 40 years. He worked for BG& E as an underground supervisor for 38 years retiring in 2007. He was the father of Tara and husband Heath Williams and son Jesse and wife Stephanie Buxton. Brother of James Joseph Buxton. Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School) on Sunday, September 5, 2010 from 2-4 PM where Funeral Service will be held at 4PM with the Most Rev. Joseph F. Steward, DD officiating. Smith, Kevin M.
Kevin Mitchell Smith, 53 of Eldersburg, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday September 7, 2010 at his home. Born August 10, 1957 in Baltimore, MD he was the son of the late Richard and late Shirley Smith (nee Ramsey) He was the Husband of Dorrie Smith his wife of 29 years. He was the loving father to Andrew and Patrick Smith. He worked 15 years for the Glenelg Post Office in Howard County. Kevin was faithful and serving to the Lord in all that he did. He was a family man who loved his wife and sons with all his heart. Surviving in addition to his wife and sons are brothers and sister-in-laws Richard and Bonnie Smith, Stephen and Mary Smith and Brother Michael Smith. A Celebration of Life Service is planned for Saturday September 11, 2010 at 10:00 Am at Faith Family Church 4150 Sykesville Rd. (Rt. 32) Finksburg, MD 21048. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Carroll Hospice 292 Stoner Ave. Westminster, MD 21157.

Deithorn, Susan E.
Susan Elizabeth Deithorn (nee Coleman), age 45, of Mt. Airy, died, Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at her home. She was born July 4, 1965 in Riverdale, Maryland the daughter of Glenna Fay Coleman (nee Hudson) of Mt. Airy and the late Chester Coleman. She was the wife of Shane P. Deithorn. She was a Real Estate sales woman agent for Long & Foster Real Estate, Inc. in Frederick, MD. She enjoyed gardening, floating in the pool and having big bon fires and loved her dogs. She was the mother of Brian Patrick Coleman and Megan Elizabeth Deithorn both of Mt. Airy, MD. Sister of James M. Coleman, Sr., Randall N. Coleman, Leslie W. Coleman, Timothy R. Coleman, Sr. and Charles B. Coleman, Sr. all of Elkridge, MD. Predeceased by siblings Kevin Lee Coleman, Lois Coleman, John Steven Coleman and Ricky Dean Coleman. John Wilson “Reds” Abbott, Sr. 79 of Mt. Airy, MD, died Saturday September 18, 2010 at his home in Mt. Airy. He was the spouse of Dorothy (Shipley) Abbott. He was born April 22, 1931 in Carroll County Md the son of the late James Wilson Abbott and late Margaret Louise (Schlarb) Abbott. He was a retired Baltimore City Firefighter at 12 Truck and Engine 45. He was a member of Lehigh Riding Club, Past Member of Taylorsville Hunt Club, Carrollton and Mayberry Hounds. He loved to Hunt and Fish. Surviving in addition to his wife are Son: John W. Abbott, Jr. and wife Dawn of Woodbine, Daughter: Janice C. and Joe Spencer of Reisterstown, Daughter: Joyce Abbott Rill and husband Brian of Manchester, Son: Jeffrey D. and wife Nancy Abbott of Stevensonville. Sister : Vivian Schouberger, June Montour. Grandchildren: Jason, Daniel, Rachel, Gabrielle, Valerie and Jesse Abbott, Nicole Wilson, Christopher and Shawn Spencer. 2 Great-grandchildren Aubrianne and Shayla Abbott. Ridgley, Robert B.
Robert Brooks Ridgley, 62 of Winfield died Monday September 20, 2010 at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore. Born January 7 in Sykesville, He was the son of the late P. Brooks Ridgley and late Mary Leona Klingelhofer. He was the husband of Suzanne Moore Ridgley. They were married for 39 years. He worked on the family dairy farm his teen years through his early 20’s. he began working at Springfield State Hospital in January 1970 as a pipefitter, entered Federal Government service with Bethesda Naval Hospital in March 1982 and late transferred to NIH in 1984, retiring in November 2002. He worked part-time at Green’s Home Center (Ace Hardware) for several years after his retirement; he enjoyed meeting and helping people in the store. His greatest joy was his family and friends. He is an associate member of the Winfield Volunteer Fire Company for many years helping with dinners and working the Bakers’ French fry stand at the annual carnival. He was a member of Reisterstown Moose Lodge 1577 and Sons of the American Legion Gold Star Post 191. Surviving is addition to his wife are son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Amber Ridgley, Sister and brother-in-law Gail and Pat Boone, brother Ronnie Ridgley, brother-in-law Dave Kemp sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Tina and Jeff Maufer, mother-in-law Ruth C. Moore, grandchildren, Campbell Leanne and Brooks Warren Ridgley and many nieces and nephews He is predeceased by sister Connie Kemp. Moxley, Hazel V.
Hazel V. Moxley (nee Gue), age 92, of Sykesville, died Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at Senior Constant Care in Winfield, MD. She was born October 24, 1917 in Mt. Airy, MD, the daughter of the late Hayes Gue and the late Virginia Gue (nee Burdette). She was the wife of the late Stanley D. Moxley. She worked for Springfield State Hospital as a nursing aide. She was a member of Springfield Presbyterian Church in Sykesville. She was the step-mother of the late Stanley E. Moxley and the late Elizabeth Gardner. She was the sister of the late Arthur Gue, late Ethel Gue and late Addie Cutsail. Grandmother of Lorna R. Burdick of Hagerstown, Andrew Moxley of Georgia, Katie Stevens of Georgia and the late Thomas E. Moxley. Also survived by 5 great grandchildren, nieces Helen Mercer of Sykesville and Mildred Fleming of Ellicott City, great niece Sharon Phillips and husband David of Sykesville and great great niece Heather Phillips of Sykesville. Graveside funeral service Friday September 24, 2010 at 2:30 PM at Marvin Chapel cemetery, Woodville Road, Mt. Airy, MD, with the Rev. Barbara Laukaitis officiating. Riley Howard Guynn, age 97, of Woodbine, died Thursday, September 23, 2010 at Brinton Woods Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Sykesville. He was born August 1, 1913 in PA the son of the late Horace G. Guynn, Sr. and the late Ada Augustus Ruff Guynn. He was a farmer. He enjoyed nature, fishing, hunting, traveling and gardening. He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Mt. Airy, since 1950. He was the husband of Margaret T. Guynn (nee Hurst) of Woodbine. He was the father of Anne Fink and Husband Alan of Westminster, Eveline Shipley and husband George of Woodbine and the late David Wayne Guynn and the late Jesse Howard “Jay” Guynn. Brother of June Betz of Baltimore. Grandfather of Jerome Guynn and Bernadette Richards, Sierra Guynn and Richard Jessee, Kimberly and Michael Hammer, Jason and Melissa Shipley and Matthew Shipley.
