Mary Sue Bedinger Lewis (nee Knisley), age 83, of Reisterstown, MD, died Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at the Carroll Hospice, Inc.-Dove House in Westminster, MD. She was born October 10, 1927 in Bedford, PA the daughter of the late John E. Knisley and the late Mattie B. Knisley (nee Mellott). She was the wife of the late Joseph H. Bedinger and the late Alva C. Lewis. Beloved mother of Mary Jo Harry and Thomas of Reisterstown. Dear sister of Robert Knisley of Eldersburg and the late Nellie Barnes. Loving Grandmother of Samantha Harry and Adam Harry. Graveside and Interment Service Saturday, October 30, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 10901 Mason Road, N.E., Cumberland, MD 21502. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to: BARCS, 301 Stockholm Street, Baltimore, MD 21230.

Jacobs, Donna G.
Donna Gail Jacobs (nee Dail), age 63, of Woodbine, died Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at the Cancer Treatment Center of America in Philadelphia, PA. She was born May 21, 1947 in Baltimore, MD the daughter of the late Preston Lee Dail and the late Violet E. Dail (nee Crawford). She was the beloved wife of Howard J. Jacobs of Woodbine, MD. She was a CNA at Springfield State Hospital for over 17 years. She was a member of Elders Baptist Church in Eldersburg, MD. She loved her flowers and garden. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and loved her grandkids and spending time with her family. Devoted mother of Daniel P. Jacobs and wife Stephanie of Woodbine, and Lura Sluder and husband Keith of New Windsor. Dear sister of Howard Dail of Leland, N.C., Deborah Lockhart of Arlington, VA, Roger Dail of Wichita Falls, Texas and Paul Dail of Jacksonville, NC. Loving grandmother of Amber, Christina, Danielle, Caleb, and Justin Jacobs, Jordan, Madelyn, Juleeann and Keith Sluder. Also survived by great grandchild Trinity Phelan. Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School) on Saturday from 3-5 & 7-9 PM and Sunday from 1-3 PM, with a memorial Service Sunday, October 31, 2010 at 3:00 PM with Rev. Patricia Ann Comer Unger, 77 of Sykesville, died Saturday October 30, 2010 at her home in Sykesville. She was the spouse of the late Paul R. Unger, Sr. She was born April 5, 1933, the daughter of the late J. Francis and Edna May Hinkle Comer. She was a retired employee of the Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Company. A member of the America Telephone Pioneers. Surviving her are Sisters H. Louise Kylus of Bowie and Mary Frances Martirano of Cumberland, MD. She is preceded in death by Brother William J. Comer of Denver, CO. At Mrs. Unger’s request there will be no visitation. She will be cremated. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Carroll Hospice 292 Stoner Ave. Westminster, MD 21157.

Rainey, Elizabeth M.
Elizabeth May (Volland) Rainey 85 of Westminster, MD, died October 30, 2010 to Dove House. She was the spouse late John Patrick Rainey, Jr. She was born Nov 16, 1924 in Baltimore, MD the daughter of the late William Volland and Elizabeth (Klotz) Volland. She was a Homemaker and a former member of American Legion Post 122 Ladies Auxillary. Graveside Services will be conducted at Garrison Forest Veterans cemetery, Owings Mills, MD 11:30 AM November 9, 2010. The family will receive friends Wednesday November 3, 2010 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD.

Noreita Marie Oates Ludwig 73 of Randallstown, MD, died Sunday October 31, 2010 at St. Agnes Hospital. She was the spouse of the late Albert Leroy Ludwig, Sr. She was born June 21, 1937 in Alberton/ Daniels, MD. The daughter of the late Norman E. Oates, Sr. and late Hilda Louise Bere Oates. She was a Legal Secretary for Zerwitz and Zerwitz Law Firm in Baltimore. Mrs. Ludwig was a member of Wards Chapel UMC and a Life Member of Liberty Rd. Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary; she was an avid Dallas Cowboys Fan, Loved Bingo, Fishing and the Beach. Surviving her in addition to her husband are Sons and their wives: Albert Leroy Ludwig, Jr. and Diana of Reisterstown, MD, Brian Ludwig and Beth of Sykesville, MD Brother: Norman E. Oates, Jr. wife Karen of FL and Sister Marsha Oates of Westminster. Granddaughter Holly L. Ludwig of Sykesville, 7 Step-grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Memorial Services will be conducted on Friday November 5, 2010 11 AM at Wards Chapel United Methodist Church, 11023 Liberty Rd. Randallstown, MD 21133 with Pastor John Rupp officiating. A Private inurnment will take place at a later date. The Family will receive friends on Thursday November 4, 2010 from 2-4PM and 7-9PM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, P.A., 1212 W. OLD Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heritage Trust Fund of Wards Chapel UMC or the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22718 Oklahoma City, OK 73123.

Cathy Purtell Nolton, 67 of Taylorsville, MD, died Monday November 1, 2010 at her home in Taylorsville, MD. She was the spouse of Robert M. Nolton. She was born February 2, 1943 in New Britain, CT the daughter of the late Thomas F. Purtell and late Marjorie (Wenzel) Purtell. She was a Substance Abuse Councilor working with the Salvation Army in the District of Columbia she was a member of Taylorsville UMC. Surviving her in addition to her husband are Sons: Thomas James Corbett of Secretary, MD, William George Corbett of CT, and James Patrick Corbett of Los Angeles, CA Sister: Patty Smith of MA, Grandchildren: Ashley Lynn Corbett and Thomas Robert Corbett. Memorial Services will take place Friday November 5, 2010 11 AM at Taylorsville United Methodist Church 4356 Ridge Rd. Mt. Airy, MD 21771 with Rev. Sarah Dorrance officiating. The Family will receive friends at the church from 9:30 AM until time of Memorial Service. Malcolm Kelley, 7 of Granite, MD, died Monday November 1, 2010 at his home in Granite. He was born January 5, 2003 in Columbia, MD the son of John Paul Kelley and Jaime Teresa (Owings) Kelley. He enjoyed Reading, Going to the Library, Singing, Playing Video Games and Watching Cartoons. Surviving him in addition to his parents is Sister Isabelle Kelley of Granite. Grandparents: Margaret Owings and Marthetta and Wayne Dell and Great-grandmother Concetta Kurak. Also survived by numerous Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. Preceded in death by Grandfathers James Owings and John Kelley and Uncle JD Owings. Funeral Services will be held Saturday November 6, 2010 11:00 AM at Granite Presbyterian Church, 10637 Old Court Rd. Woodstock, MD 21163 with Interment in the church cemetery. Mr. Ely was born April 20, 1929 in Baltimore, MD the son of the late John Walter Ely and the late Pauline (Vomastek) Ely. He was a retired Baltimore City Firefighter out of Engine 46. He was a member of Northwest Baptist Church, a Veteran of the US Navy, an avid Golfer and Bowler. Devoted father of Earl A. and wife Nellie Ely, the late Richard B. Ely and wife Ceal, Elvamarie Ely Miller, John A and Darlene Ely, Dear Brother of Leroy and wife Hilda Ely, Also Survived by 12 Grandchildren and numerous Great-grandchildren. Joseph Yancey, Sr. 82 of Hedgesville, WV, died Tuesday November 16, 2010 at Washington Adventist Hospital. He was the spouse of Della “Pat” Yancey. He was born July 9, 1929 in Allentown, PA the son of the late Philip and late Myrtle Moore Yancey. He was a manager for Forman Brothers. A Veteran of the US Army. Surviving in addition to his wife are Sons and their Wives Joseph and Nancy Yancey, Jr. of Hedgesville, WV and Phil and Lori Yancey of Catonsville, MD Twin Sister Irene Harper of Estelle, WV 8 Grandchildren and 2 Great- Grandchildren. Mr. Yancey was cremated and there will be no Services. In lieu of flowers donations may be to the Berkley County Humane Society, 554 Charles Town Rd. Martinsburg, WV 25401.

Kenneth E. Wright, age 52, of Woodbine, died Friday November 19, 2010 in Virginia. He was born July 31, 1958 in Frederick, MD the son of the late Lonnie Ray Wright, Sr. and the late Nina E. Wright (nee Slavy). He was a foreman for various construction companies. He enjoyed riding his Harley. He was the husband of Donna M. Wright (nee Sprinkle), of Woodbine, MD. He was the father of- Jennifer A. Gick and husband Gregory and Mark Cardwell both of Woodbine. He was the brother of Nina Strucko, Lorretta McCormack, Marcella Alder, Mitzi Alder, Lonnie R. Wright, Jr., Cassie Saunders, Debra Faggelli and Patricia Palumbo and the late Earl R. Wright. Loving grandfather of Gregory Gick. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and brother and sister in laws. Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School) on Tuesday from 6-9 PM. Funeral Service will be held at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA on Wednesday November 24, 2010 at 10:30 AM with the Rev. O.F. “Bud” Kibbe officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Ridge cemetery, Winfield, MD.
