WILMA A. FRANCIOSI
CUMBERLAND - Wilma Aretta Franciosi, 72, of Cumberland, died Monday, March 30, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Born April 1, 1925, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late William and Emma (Bowman) Cook. She was preceded in death by one son, Thomas Silvio Franciosi.

Mrs. Franciosi was a homemaker. She was a member of the Cumberland Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Surviving are her husband, Thomas Paul Franciosi; two daughters, Bonnie Shuck and husband, Lenny; Mary "Sis" Sweitzer and husband, Eldon; two sons, Joseph Franciosi and wife, Libby, Jim Franciosi and wife, Mary Ann, all of Cumberland; a daughter-in-law, Susan Franciosi, Pittsburgh, Pa.; three sisters, Celesta Uphole, Oakland, Mae Smith, Cumberland, Martha Boyce, Baltimore; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., on Wednesday from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 1 p.m. with Lee Robertson officiating.

Private interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Cumberland.

Family requests memorial contributions to the Hospice Home Care of the Western Maryland Health System.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Kenny Norris, T.J. Norris, Butch Sweitzer, Jimmy Franciosi, Daniel McDonald and Kevin McDonald.

BERNADINE M. FRANCIS
WESTERNPORT - Bernadine Marjorie Francis, 84, of Moran Manor Nursing Home, formerly of Maryland Avenue, Westernport, died Friday at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
She was born Sept. 20, 1913, in Cross, W.Va., the daughter of the late Frank Daniels and Flossie Ours Daniels. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Tony Francis, on May 24, 1992.

Mrs. Francis was a homemaker. She was a member of Westernport United Methodist Church and the Tom's Ridge Hunt Club, Swanton.

Survivors include a step-son, Paul Daher and wife, Gloria, Texas; three brothers, Foster Daniels, Petersburg, W.Va., John Daniels, Moorefield, W.Va., and Charles Daniels, Lonaconing; two sisters, Doris Daddysman, and Wilma Francis, both of Westernport; two step-grandsons, Joe Daher and wife, Mary, and Tom Daher and wife, Romaine, both of California; and four step-great-grandchildren, Ian Daher, Sadira Daher, Calen Daher and Anthony Daher.

Friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. John Footen officiating.

Interment will be in Philos cemetery, Westernport.

JOHN H. HORCHLER
CUMBERLAND - John H. Horchler, 82, of Cumberland, died Monday, Feb. 16, 1998, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland.
Born Aug. 3, 1915, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late John Henry and Margaret (Howarth) Horchler. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth H. (Decker) Horchler; his stepmother, Lillie (Wilmont) Horchler; one brother, Edwin Horchler; and one stepsister, Mary Jenkins.

Mr. Horchler was retired from the B&O; Railroad after 35 years of service and was a member of the United Transportation Union.

Surviving are one son, John H. "Jack" Horchler Jr., and wife, Bonnie, Whitehouse, Texas; one daughter, Joyce A. Rockwell and husband Ernest, with whom he resided; four grandchildren, James J. Horchler and wife, Ginger, Darcy A. Kuhn and husband, David, Steve M. Rockwell, all of Cumberland, Steven W. Horchler and wife, Lisa, Lindale, Texas; three great-grandchildren, Johnathan Horchler, Allison Kuhn and Emily Kuhn; one brother-in-law, Leo Decker, Buffalo Mills, Pa.; one sister-in-law, Mary E. Horchler, Cumberland.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and Friday from 12 to 1 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Lee A. McDaniel officiating. Interment will be in Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

MARY A. FRANK
MOUNT SAVAGE - Mary Alice (Hausrath) Frank, 27, of Williamston, Mich., formerly of Mount Savage, died suddenly from an automobile accident on Tuesday, July 14, 1998, in Ithaca, Mich.
Born Dec. 24, 1970, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of Millard E. "Gene" and Evelyn (Black) Hausrath.

Mrs. Frank was a 1988 graduate of Mount Savage High School and graduated from Frostburg State University. She was a member of the St. George's Episcopal Church, Mount Savage.

Surviving in addition to her parents are her husband, Paul S. "Chip" Frank; three sisters, Susan D. Parks, Cumberland, Nancy A. Hausrath, Cumberland, and Carol L. "Kiddle" Robinson, Charlotte, N.C.; and three nephews, Travis E. Morral, Tim Morral and Donald W. Robinson.

Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Friday from 2:30 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted at St. George's Episcopal Church, Mount Savage, on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Thomas Staupe officiating.

Interment will be in St. George's Parish cemetery, Mount Savage.

The family requests that memorials be directed to the St. George's Memorial Fund or to the Zion Lutheran Church Building Fund, Accident.

KARL W. FRANKFORT
JUNO, Fla. - Karl W. Frankfort, age 72, passed away Saturday, Sept. 19, 1998.
He was born in Cumberland, Md.

He leaves his wife, Gladys; daughters, Teri Robinson, and Karen Frankfort; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Marlyn Harclerode.

There will be a memorial service at Jupiter Light Lodge #340 at a later date.

SISTER MARY EUNICE FRANKRONE, O.S.U.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Sister Mary Eunice Frankrone, O.S.U., 97, of Marian Home, 3105 Lexington Road, Louisville, formerly of Cumberland, died Feb. 9, 1998 at Marian Home.
She was born Dec. 17, 1900, in Louisville. Sister Mary Eunice entered the Ursuline Sisters in 1922.

She was a business teacher and librarian for more than 60 years. From 1929 through 1944 she taught at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Cumberland, Md., where she served briefly as principal, and she spent a year teaching at St. Mary's School in the mid-1950s. Sister Eunice also taught at Sacred Heart School in Camden, Miss., and at Ursuline Academy and the Ursuline-Pitt School, both in Louisville. She held a bachelor of arts degree from Ursuline College in Louisville, and retired to Marian Home in 1992.

Surviving are nine nieces; and four nephews.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, Feb. 11, at 7:30 p.m., at the Ursuline Motherhouse Chapel, 3115 Lexington Road, Louisville.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, Feb. 11, from 2 to 7:30 p.m. at the Ursuline Motherhouse.

Burial will be on Thursday, Feb. 12, at St. Michael cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may be directed to The Ursuline Sisters Development Fund, 3105 Lexington Road, Louisville, KY 40206.

ELEANOR "SIS" FRANTZ
OAKLAND - Eleanor V. "Sis" Frantz, 80, of Hutton Road, Oakland, died Monday, Feb. 9, 1998, at her home.
Born Sept. 21, 1917, in Oakland, she was the daughter of the late Francis P. and M. Edith (Collins) Baker.

She formerly was employed by the First United National Bank and Trust, Rudy's Department Store and Frantz and Merle, all of Oakland. She was a member of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, Oakland.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph C. Frantz; and one sister, Betty Getzug, Pittsburgh, Pa.

An interment service will be held at the Oakland cemetery on Saturday, Feb. 14, 1998, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Fr. Chip Lee officiating. Interment will follow.

The family requests that memorials take the form of contributions to St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, 126 East Liberty St., Oakland, MD 21550.

The Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland, is in charge of arrangements.
